LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan - Tourist attraction in West Bloomfield Township, United States
It was a weekend and their cafe was closed but they dont allow you to bring in drinks or food, so we asked if we could re-enter after we ate in the food court and were denied re-entry. Its ridiculous to expect kids to not want a drink or food. They also have changed some of the exhibits and you dont get the free build kit or the cool unique "lego discovery center" block anymore. Quality has definitely declined.
My kids said it was everything they hoped and dreamed of. I agreed. The rides were interactive and fun, the Lego city of Detroit was spectacular and also interactive and the 3d movies made us want to reach out and grab Legos flying at us. We went on homeschool days so the price was amazing. Shout out to awesome employee John who has longish curly hair for his sense of humor with the kids.
Meh. Not what we were expecting and not worth the price at all. My husband called it “The Lego version of Chuck E Cheese”. It would be fine if the adult admission was included w/the children’s ticket but everyone has to pay to get in. Adults should not have to pay to hold coats and watch their children play! That’s what you will be doing. My 9 yr old son liked it but my 6yr old daughter just liked the play area which you can find anywhere. The Lego store at any mall has more going on than the building stations here. I was expecting massive bins with every color and extension piece imaginable but it was very scaled down with options specific to each station. The Miniature buildings were very cool but you can’t play with them. The rides were also wack. We added on the Sea Life passes…that experience was a little better for the whole family but also not worth the price.
This place exceeded my expectations! I brought my 10 year old son, he wasnt too interested in the booklet and stamping cards thing. But there was so many cool fun things to do! The little Rollercoaster ride, the swinging ride, then I was expecting the movie at the end to be boring and wow! Ive never seen a 4D film before, and it was super cool. Overall, definitely worth a couple hours of your time.
My Son and I took my grandchildren here. It is a cute place and they really enjoyed it. So much so, that they spent 5 hours there and were disappointed when we had to leave because it was time for them to close.
Having a blast at Legoland with the family at my nieces 10th birthday party!!!
There are a lot of Lego building stations, a 4D theater with a short film, and two rides inside this legoland. Fun place to get away for a couple hours. At this mall we grouped our tickets with the aquarium and peppa pig world so we had a full day of fun for the kids!
Small place and not sure if it’s really worth the money as all you can do here is play with the legos. The VR is charged separately which is surprising. The 4D movie was good and is included in the ticket price.Unless you love playing with legos and can spend entire day on them then this is a good place to be.
The kids had fun! The activity pack part wasnt explained very well but ultimately we figured it out. Definitely was surprised by how many things there were to do beyond the entrance. Store staff was great and helped us find a lego set we had been SEARCHING for for months!
We was planing to visit as one of atrraction places but is only if you bring kids with you they told us so is like playground for them but not for adults. So if you dont have kids dont go there you not allowed to enter. Can visit the gift shop but not actual playground area. So oh well at least they refund us money we thought we can explore
Great place to spend a couple of hours with the kids to enjoy rides, games, and creativity. The LEGO build of local Detroit landmarks was very cool to explore – even for the adults! And lots of opportunity for the kids to do small builds at various stations e.g. racing cars, adding to the LEGO village, our creating a LEGO picture to display. Perfect activity for kids ages 4-10.
Not worth the money. $40 a person for a combo ticket to Sea Life too? Bathrooms are pretty well in need of a cleaning, including the walls. Seriously ridiculous to expect a small family to pay the small fortune for a so-so experience. Sea Life is cool though.
The place itself was awesome, my son loved it. However, it’s geared to his age bracket, there were people in their thirties without children taking over kid exhibits making it so he (and other childrencouldn’t participate, that was the only drawback.
Good selection on hand. Very helpful employee worked with me to help get a special item for my little niece. Much of the product does have the white alarm stickers on the box though.
For any parents of all kids, Legoland is a must visit and even worth getting a season pass. They have many different activities here, rides and a playground.Legos can inspire curiosity and building skills to your child and I think Legoland does this and more. Great to have places like this locally and would enjoy more. Be aware that it can get pretty busy during peak times.
We paid $80 to get sprayed with water in a "4D" movie. Then play in a couple random Lego rooms. One of the "rides" they have was out of order. The "Hurricane booth" was out of order. The snack bar was not open. Next time Ill just order the kids $80 of Legos sets from Amazon.
The kids will have hours of entertainment. Rides, building race cards, building fish, building houses, jungle gym, store, vr, pixle art, interactive movie and even being able to meet spin ninjas. It was fun but its not for adults. The kids will have fun for hours.
Good for what it is. Half of the stuff was out of order. The VR was down and the Cafe were all closed. The staff also did not seem excited to be there... its Lego land! Have some excitement.
A must see! So much fun, completely worth the price.
Not great for toddlers however they did have 2 small climbing and slide areas he enjoyed. We liked sea life better. Great for older kids who like Legos tho
1.You have to purchase your tickets in advance automatically.2.So many things were not working:- 1 of the rides- the VR experience- the cafe (Im sure due to staff issues). You will want to pay the extra $10 for admission into the Sea Life Aquarium.
Careful. Call before you go! We went and the 4-D movie and VR right we’re both closed along with the snack bar. Would have been nice to know before buying tickets. Also once you enter you can’t go back in so when you are planning on eating there and it’s closed you go hungry or have to leave early.
Definitely a must visit. Great place to bring kids and Lego fans. Lots of activities for the youngsters. Highly recommended.
Have to buy tickets online in advance or you cant enter. Kids have lots of fun.
Very pricey for what get some stuff broken or not open. Didnt like the gay parade in display shameful display. Also they dont take cash refused money my kids tried to give them that their grampa gave them to get a toy. Kids had fun want go back dont think will anytime soon.
There are 185 stores from apparel, athletic, electronics, health and beauty, toys, gift items, shoes and food. Many brande shops like gap, banana republic ,Nike, both & body works, perfumania, coach,Adidas,Aldo, etc with reasonable discounts
This place is very cool. They have millions of assembled legos. Lots and lots of completed lego sets. Your mind will run wild with imagination! Great place to bring your kids but also for adults. This place is wheelchair accessible along with the parking lot.
Huge store, larger than any offical lego store. If you still have your VIP card they automatically take off 3%. They also usually carry hard to find sets. Its my go to Lego store. Never been at the exhibit its expensive $26 a person so I avoid that.
very nice place for kids to play and learn some new lego building skills. My son had a blast and the place was very nice. The entire staff was very friendly and one of the game operators was extra helpful as she took extra time to convince my son to ride the train because he was scared. They are a bit pricy but it was definitely worth it for us.
I took my kids to Legoland and it was a lot of fun. Spent close to 3 hours even though some of the attractions were closed (we went mid-week). Highlights are the entire downtown Detroit in Lego, the shooting ride and the 4D theater.
We had an amazing time at legoland. My kids ages 8,6,2 had an amazing time and it wasn’t badly packed on a Saturday afternoon. We paid $150 approx for all 4 of us and kids under 3 are free. It was a combo ticket so we also got to do sea life aquarium as well in that price. It was way worth it. They do have activity packs at Lego land you can add on for 5.00 bucks but in my opinion it’s not worth it. The stamps you would collect in every room. At first my kids loved it and then they really didn’t care. I ended up getting a few for my daughter and then I said to hell with it. My boys also the Virtual reality you can also purchase for an extra 7.00 which we eventually did and my boys loved it. They are 8 and 6. One thing I could say is please please get some cold iced coffee! ❤️❤️❤️ we will definitely be back. Great staff and very clean.
My family really enjoyed themselves sealife and Legoland (combo ticketsoh its soooo much to do for toddlers have an 1yr old I absolutely love it staff friendly my advice would to be get tickets on online best and easy for them as well bc they scan ur ticket on ur device easy rite we will be back soon thank you so much for your friendiest and hospitality sealife and Legoland
Pretty awesome place for the kiddos! My 6 year old had a blast. Theres two small rides and then a large area that basically has different Lego themed playgrounds. As a parent, I wasnt exactly having fun, but I was happy that my son was happy. The Lego cities were pretty neat to see. We didnt get to watch the movie as there was a long wait by the time we got there.
Pretty cool place, amazing displays of lego craftsmanship! The master builder also had some amazing figures and things in his office! The rides were fun and very interactive, we loved the Ninjago movie and my kids had a blast in the climbing/play area.
Get the bundle with Sea Life to save some money. Cute way to entertain the kids. Took our 20 month old and he had a blast. There are areas specifically for toddlers and small kids as well as places for older kids to play. Fun for all ages.
The kids had an overall good time. There were a few stations to build and create but their favorite was building and racing the cars. The short 4-D movie was entertaining for all ages.
Not great considering the cost. I expected better upkeep on many of the attractions. Several attractions were not in operation. The concession stand was closed. They wanted an extra $16 for a photo. I would have expected a physical printout for that price. Instead we had to download the photo. The bathrooms were not very clean. The kids had fun, but it wasnt worth the price tag.
Freaking awesome! My 10 year olds loved it, so did I at 37. Its also geared towards younger kids as well. Even on a weekend with a good number of visitors, it didnt feel crowded. There are so many areas and activities. There really is something for everyone.
So fun!!! I was a little upset some of the attractions were closed. Overall had a great time!! While the gift shop is awesome the things are very expensive. The 4D movie is so cool.
Super fun for the whole family! We were able to get the kids in for free by using the coupon provided on their cellophane bags (they are small little bags you can purchase in store at any place that sells Lego sets). We only ended up paying for two adults which was $25 a piece but totally worth it. The price of ticket includes rides, play places, and Lego activity centers were you can build your own creations. We were there for about 4 hours with plenty to do. In addition, they also have a display for the city of Detroit that is interactive. The kids were able to push buttons and different parts of the landscape would move or make sounds. If you want to add to the fun you can purchase a lanyard for an additional $5 that you can punch at each station that you go through, or take advantage of their collector coin machines. Overall, a fun experience.
Fun place to take my 8 year old great grandson. Loved pointing out all our Detroit landmarks and the unbelievable work put into building them! He loved playing in the kid zone after . . And we enjoyed sitting there. Good experience for all of us!
Both kids and adults can go here and have plenty of fun. An awesome selection of lego kits and some pretty cool pre-built displays. The interactive portion of the store is the best. Great enjoyment for the family. The actual Legoland has a few great rides, interactive play areas, and some awesome building areas. The 4D movie was pretty cool.
All three boys love their Legos they were so excited when we got there and they saw the Legoland sign it was really hard keeping them under control while we were trying to get in. I would suggest this to anyone kids of all ages there was stuff to do with the kids and dad had so much fun doing it with them. A lot of pictures we took a lot of videos memories they will cherish forever
A really fun family activity! You can build all kinds of things with legos along with tons of professional built structures!! A really cool place for any lego lover!! The vr was down and some other stations where closed. Overall worth the money
Everything was pretty okay. Best way to describe it. They had a lot of their attractions closed off or not available (Master builder). Another lacking point was the Lego store. I was disappointed that they didnt have a lot of Lego merchandise to sell. Personally Im always on the search for doors and windows for the kids and they had none. Also their buy a cup and fill it up area had about 10 areas to fill your cup up with, which was lackluster because it was the same size brick but just different colors out of about Id say 20 -25 areas that were empty and that was a let down. I am giving three stars because we did go on a Sunday and maybe they had to restock so I will try again during the week. Overall a good experience for the whole family.
My wife and I visited the "gift shop", but not the actual museum. As they are only a gift shop, they do not honor LEGO vip rewards. However, this is a great little store. It has slightly smaller inventory than the average LEGO Store, but it still has quite a bit. Highly recommend going here.
Best for kids under age 9, LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a good place to spend a couple hours with kids who love LEGOs. Build, play, create, learn & more! Not the tourist destination its proclaimed to be. Eat first because the Cafe is closed right now, so is the main attraction...the play area.
A little disappointed in the fact that some exhibits were closed but not reflected in the price. The 4d movie was awesome but the girl running the bike ride was fighting with her boyfriend via text and therefore holding up the line and rude.... I wish her the best but she needs to leave that for after work.
Took my son here and we had an absolute blast! I grew up finally poor, but I did have Lego as a kid, and it was my favorite toy. Its been great to be able to see my son as excited about Lego as I am. The builds there are soo cool and there is plenty to do. Once covid is over we are definitely excited to be able to go back. If my opinion is worth anything I do recommend taking your little ones here for a good day of fun.
My kids had a blast on our trip here. We did the scout day and got a fun patch. It has something for all ages and the lay out is very nice and easy to access my kids can wander and not get lost in the building. The playground is huge and a lot of fun. My littlest kid was overwhelmed so I helped her though the playground the 1st time and she was off. Cafe wa as reasonably priced as well
