LARK Toys in Winona
Description
What an amazing place. Weve been stopping here for 27 years and it just gets better 🥰
MoreA very dangerous place for grandparents. I dare you to leave without a bag of toys for the kids
MoreThey have every kind of toy you can imagine and then some. They also have food, ice cream is what I stopped for. They also have fudge. Display cases with vintage toys also.
MoreThe carousel is beautiful, however waited 10 min past starting time posted for staff to arrive. I usually would not let bother me, however the ride was at most 3minutes...it ok to indulge your patrons occasionally . Since along line of people, kids waited for you .
MoreSuper fun for toddler -elementary age. Many little stations where kids can engage with toys. Great classic book sleek too . The carousel and mini golf is fun! Also, yummy food and ice cream.
MoreSo many toys and such! Memorabilia so fun to see. But they really need to improve checkout. One elderly lady working away on the register and a long line. Time to get away from manual inventory and move to computerization.
MoreSuch an amazing store!! You can and should spend a few hours there. Awesome selection of toys, books, and magic tricks, this place has it all. Will definitely be coming back next time we pass through!
MoreLark Toys is a fantastic place to visit for children and adults alike. The expansive store is beautifully filled with modern popular toys as well as Larks own homemade wooden toys, and even offers a charming toy museum. The staff is incredibly friendly and they truly care about the customers happiness.I will continue to bring my family here to support Lark Toys and cant wait to return!
MoreFun for all ages. We enjoyed the displays of vintage toys. The carousel is beautiful! Huge selection of toys, books, games & puzzles for sale.
MoreA must stop even if you dont have kids with you. There is something for everyone. A lot of products and toys you normally dont see all in one place. Their woodworking is amazing.
MoreThe miniature golf experience was very fun. The course is clean and has a new like appearance. Note that the backside of the scoring card has different variations to the game you can add to spice things. Inside the building, one can order fudge, food and salivate over the various Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream ice creams at their cafe. Their menu is available online. In addition to all the toys and museum like assort of stuff, there is a carousel! Adult can reminisce while kids feel like theyre in heaven on earth! If you have questions regarding all the other things you can do at Lark Toys, see their website or social media page.
MoreWhat a unique gem! Small Town big fun for kids and adults alike. Lovely experience for families and an all around great place to create new memories. An added bonus is that the cafe food includes several yummy vegetarian options and the raspberry lemon sorbet is delicious. Staff are helpful and add to the overall joyous ambiance. Great selection of toys and there is also an additional small gift shop with unique gifting items.
MoreThey have a very large selection of older and antique toys on display and for sale. It was fun to spot all of the ones I had as a kid. Its out of the way but worth the trip.
MoreA magical place for kids and adults alike. The carousel was a treat. I expected a great selection of toys, but the book shop was an unexpected treat. Highly recommend!
MoreSmiskis are the coolest little guys ever!! Great toys. The mini golf was a lot of fun but it was a little too windy... good amount of holes. Maybe a bit too close for the golf courses themselves but a lot of fun!! Good place for kids or a date ;)
MoreLark toys was amazing!!!They have every toy you can imagine, and a carousel! They also have a large selection of books, and educational kits!
MoreCarousel runs every 30 minutes. Rides were $2. Awesome place to stop.
The best part of Lark Toys are mini golf and carousel ride. Mini golf is on discount because the pond hasn’t been filled up yet. Carousel ride is fun and kids love it!
MoreThis is a store we come back to anytime we come back to the area... especially if youre a grandparent, wit or without the grandkids! It takes YOU back, and you get to bring them things back!!!!
MoreLark Toys is the perfect way to spend a day with family and friends! You dont have to be a kid or bring a kid to have fun here. The amazing carousel with gorgeous hand-carved wood animals is a true work of art and certainly not just for children. We saw several groups of older women gleefully reliving memories from childhood.Throughout the building are extensive displays of toys and games gathered through the years; one can spend hours enjoying the collection and finding favorites from when they were a child. The book store has the most thoughtfully curated selection of books for all ages, unlike any Ive ever seen. Lark Toys has done the exhaustive work to sort through the enormous world of youth literature, and collect only the best. Always seeking meaningful books for my granddaughter, I plan to return and spend a day browsing their bookshelves to take home new treasures. The toys available to purchase are carefully chosen to stimulate creative play. They have old-fashioned toys such as the hand-carved Lark toys (crafted on location in a workshop where you can view the process), beautiful marbles, wind-up tin toys, and puzzles. They also offer current popular toys intended to encourage intellectual and physical development. Lark carries unique games that will immediately become new family favorites ... and the most surprising thing is that their prices are competitive with Amazon! You can easily spend a leisurely day at Lark Toys browsing, riding the carousel, shopping, and golfing. When you get hungry, there is a cafe, ice cream counter, fudge shoppe and candy store. Be sure to allow time to grab a snack and relax on the lovely hand-hewn log furniture while appreciating the beauty of the carousel. It is apparent that Lark Toys is a labor of love for this family, as the place just emanates happiness. It is absolutely worth a drive to enjoy this gem nestled among the beauty of the river valley.
MoreI’ve been coming here since I was 3 years old & I never get sick of it. The carousel & toys are always cool to look at. Great merchandise & souvenirs, awesome fudge & ice cream… as well as a little candy shop, & a super fun mini golf course!
MoreLOVE This place! Its a must see and has something for everyone from ages 0-100! You got to check it out!!
MoreLove bringing my kids here. I love that I can share with them something I did when I was a little kid. It brings back memories when I go there. My daughter LOVES the carousel! They have amazing candies and gift shops! It’s very spendy stuff though and not the greatest food at the little cafe witch was expensive.
MoreA wonderful place to stop as you travel along the Mississippi River. Lark Toys is a toy museum, toy manufacturer, the have a large selection of new toys and books to purchase, ice cream and other edible treats, outdoor mini put, and a fabulous indoor carousel with hand-carved creatures to ride on.
MoreLark toys is a must see! So many cool toys and a beautiful book selection and fun for all ages we will definitely be going out of our way to come again the carousel was a huge hit and very reasonably priced for tickets. What a hidden gem!
MoreWhat a joy to browse the variety of good, from books to toys to candy. The carousel was beyond description.
MoreIts always fun to stop at LARK Toys! Our kids love the selection of books and toys. The toy museum is always fun and stopping in there for ice cream is always a treat!
MoreIn the middle of Pepin Valley we discovered a fun and nostalgic gem! Lark Toys is definitely a destination worth visiting. So many cool vintage collections and something for everyone! Dolls and books touching on diversity, sensitivity and kindness plus stuffies, marbles, puzzles, games and SO much more! Theres an incredible hand-carved carousel and a corner malt shop plus a mini put golf course for summer visitors. The prices are fair considering the curation of the collections and it being a stand alone unique boutique in a small town. 2 thumbs way up! Especially excited to see the evolution of the story of the Blufflings! Thank you so much for creating this ❤ great one-of-a-kind experience! We need more joy in the world like the kind Lark Toys brings ❤
MoreWe love visiting Lark Toys! The wooden pull toys are so fun and their selection of other books and toys are amazing. The carousel is also so much fun and one of a kind. Its worth a trip from the cities!
MoreNever been here before, and we LOVED it! Excellent selection of non-electronic toys and books. Amazing exhibits of nostalgic toys, books, comics, etc. And loved the carousel & full deli. There is also mini-golf but it was too chilly for us (next time!Overall a MUST MUST MUST if you have never been here. Plan to Christmas shop here for sure!
MoreMini golf, ice cream, handcrafted wooden carousel and over 9,000 sq. ft of toys, whats not to love. Great hidden gem. A short and scenic drive from Red Wing along Lake Pepin.
MoreWhat a super fun toy store! So much history and the one of kind toys are very cool! The kids loved the carousel and mini golf!
MoreTheres mini golf, a toy store, childrens book section, carousel, food, fudge stand, older toy displays. Unique place and staff was very nice. Fudge was fresh and delicious! The llama spit on us so keep your distance! LOL
MoreDont let the Outside appearance of this store fool you! You walk in and its a wonderland my husband and mother inlaw along with my 2 and 4 year old so enjoyed every moment the workers were friendly and helpful - though to avoid a surcharge bring CASH ! This was Magical Birthday experience for my 4 year old! ps I did do the price check on the items we bought and all was exactly priced the same as if I was to buy it on Amazon.
MoreBest toy shop in the World :Quoted by Readers Digest.Owned by enthusiastic couple who took over a closing toy shop years ago. They hand make and fabricate toys specializing in wood, gnomes etc. They have a huge huge shop ,museum being the right word.Located in Wabasha. I entered at 4.30pm with 5 being the closing time on a Sunday. The owner was courteous to guide me around the humoungus shop. They have collection of toys from people who have donated their stuff lying in the attic. They had dolls from around the world. The attraction being a carousel ; which was single handedly crafted by a local craftsman over 9 years. The owner took me for a joy ride around it free of cost. They employ local kids to their shop.Great for a field trip for kids. They have a special auditorium which can be rented for puppet shows ,yoga classses or town meetings etc.Wonderful experience
MoreGreat place for kids and memories. Food is mmmm yum. Fanatic Santa each year.
Visited on a weekend, there were a couple of birthday parties going on but still plenty of parking, did not feel crowded. Carousel is lovely, illustrating a great deal of craftsmanship in the many carved animals that are available to ride. LARK toys has a cafe for a quick lunch, very reasonable, kids will definitely enjoy the menus. Additionally they have a very large toy store, including items they make on site, as well as a book store. Would definitely return, great location to bring the family.
MoreSuch a great experience for children. Love all the displays of antique toys. Love the carousel. The fudge is delicious!
MoreWas wonderful! We ended up staying nearly 3 hours and STILL didnt see everything!! Highly recommended!!
MoreAbsolutely the most amazing toy shop around now adays. Toy shops are certainly endangered with FAO Schwartz and ToysRUs having gone out of business. Its certainly nice to have a place that you touch and feel some of the toys that you may want to buy. There were several children playing with various toys in the shop which was great to see. Hoping they can prosper for years to come. Their own wooden toys made in Kellog Minnesota are great.
MoreThis establishment is filled with nostalgia for a boy who grew up in the 1950s...Loved the toy museum and the carousel....
MoreWe brought our sons here in the early 90s and look forward to bringing our grandchildren. So much to do. Mini golf and hand-carved carousel. The toy store has excellent choices for every child. The stroll past toys and dolls of days gone by brings back wonderful memories. Come with children or just take a stroll and enjoy this gem of a place.
MoreWhat a great place to bring a family! The owners are simply wonderful! The history of toys is so very interesting . And that beautiful carousel.
MoreAmaaaaazing Place!! I live in Winona and have gone past this place over 100 times and stopped for the first time. It is one of the greatest places ive ever seen!! The toy store itself is nothing compared to the museum part. All the old toys they had were so cool to see. Some I used to play with and some my mom used to play with. I cant wait to bring my grandma here someday! This place is awesome. We came at like 3 pm on a Sunday and it was packed with loud kids and crabby moms, but thats just what to expect at a giant toy store. But for adults, its almost more fun to see your childhood in the beautiful set ups they made.
MoreAwesome place to go for a fun day trip. The mini golf course was really fun. Not to mention seeing all the toys. We know where to do some christmas shopping now :(see the handmade toys section and peek thru into the wood shop- its super cool to see!)
MoreNever knew this place existed until a friend suggested we stop there. It kind of reminded me of a miniature wall drug in a way, but not really touristy. This place had just about every toy you could think of. There is also a cafe, fudge and candy shop, miniature golf and an indoor carousel. The old toys on display were neat to look at as well. If you have kids and you are in the area, I recommend that you stop by and take a peak.
MorePlan some extra time when visiting this destination toy store! Room after room of toys, books, games and more. The carousel alone is worth the visit, but theres much more to see. Also has a mini golf course!
MoreIts nice to look at, only downside is , is everything is way high dollar and it shouldnt be. The carousel is cheap for the kids and make you wait 30mins to ride something that takes 2 mins ... No kids wants to sit and wait.
MoreGreat toy store, lots of cool stuff to be found here!I was very impressed by the fact they have craftsmen on site making various toys and you can watch them while they work. Truly beautiful works of art that are toys also. One and a half hours outside the Twin Cities and worth every bit of the drive.I will definitely be going back to visit one of Minnesotas hidden gems.
MoreShould be a must stop if in the area. The place is more than just a store. It has a very nice collection of old toys. On site woodworking shop where they make some of the toys and carvings. The carousel is one of the coolest Ive seen.
