L'arté Cafe & Gallery - Cafe in Taupo, New Zealand
Beautiful surroundings and very popular with the locals. Food is generally pretty good with good size portions. Long waits at times during popular times. Coffee was BAD the day I went. Gallery has some nice things but is very expensive.
It was a rainy day in Taupo and I didnt know what to do with our kids. Found this on google and am so happy I did! Beautiful garden with great art work, there is a cafe where you can get yummy lunch, coffee or wine. In their little art store you can buy some decor for your home or beautiful gift for someone. Would go again for sure!
Fastest service & beautiful food coffees tea & hot chocolate our group of 14 all ordered served within 30mins was fabulous servings size & reasonably price thankyou so much
Had the worst chicken wrap I think Ive ever eaten in my life. Soggy and just mush.... other than that it was alright
I love this place, Great Cafe and the mosaic and pottery is outstanding. Always call in and always buy something any time I am staying in Taupo!
Fast serve, tasty food, staff professional well organised, and some pretty cool art to look at!
Beautiful place!
A great place for a relaxed wander around, loved the garden path and rabbits at the end. We now have a set of rabbits at home 😁 the meal we had in the cafe was excellent too 👌
Very popular, very busy, attentive staff, nice food, not expensive, lots of arty stuff to look at
It was all right coffee was good food good the only thing is staff need to listen when customers order as we asked for no banana and the Latta was small.
One of my go to places when visiting Taupō, excellent food and service.
The most appalling Bao Buns Ive ever seen...NOT Pork Belly as stated but what appeared to be bought in shredded BBq Pork, Bao Buns were mini size, slaw almost non existent, no love on that plate at all, for $16.50, was 1 of the worst meals Ive had, also my friend had the burger which he said was nice ,but for $21.50 it should come with fries....and yes I do know the cost of food as Ive been in hospitality for almost 30 years.Very disappointing.
Nice cafe to visit with visitors. On site gallery shop makes it more fun.
Great coffee nice sculpture with its own lemon tree 🍋. Very nice place to come. They have a lot to offer. Chill and relaxing under rainy weather. Great get away from busy life. Hey focus on the beautiful vibe and coffee okay 😊. 10 out of 10 lovely place.
What a beautiful place with friendly staff. The food we ordered was delicious too
Very nice indeed. Brunch was amazing. Great service though the young girl needs a lesson on humor. Other than that it was lovely.
Larte is mesmerizing filled with the most amazing pieces of artSitting in the garden having a coffee and listening to the tuis was the highlight of my trip to Taupo plus coming home with the my new treasures for my gardenThe staff the surroundings was wonderful
Great little place, loved it.
Great food and amazing coffee. A little out of the way, but worth the stop.
Cafe, good food, good coffee, friendly service. Some quirky and interesting outdoors art for sale. Plus a small shop.Definitely worth a visit.
I loved the mosaics and the artistic quirkiness of the whole Cafe. I would love to be so creative. Certainly worth visiting oh and the food was ample and delicious. There is a wee gift shop as well.
Really unique café with art galleryFood was goodFriendly staff awesome experience
Flat whites are single shot as standard (all others are doublewhich is perfect for me. Scrambled eggs was huge! The mosaic is pretty cool, even in the rain.
Great food, great service, friendly staff. The gallery is amazing and the pottery/ceramic art works are stunningly beautiful. A must go to cafe when visiting Taupo. We will return.
Amazing place. Really enjoyed walking around the garden. Nice food in the Cafe. Will definitely recommend to others
5 stars for the gallery & gardens, very beautiful pieces of art, pottery & other delights displayed around the cafe & gallery. I’m super happy with 2 pieces I bought, wrapped up so no photos.I wasn’t so enthralled with the food, the sausage roll had a lot of pastry & nota lot of meat, the salads where healthy with fresh veges but I had to ask for more vinaigrette to give it oomph & flavour.I’d definitely go back to buy more artwork & grab a coffee or wine but would be very selective with the cabinet food I choose.
Delicious fresh cafe style brunch and lunch menu, cabinet selection, cakes, coffee and drinks in a pleasant art garden setting. The bao buns and the smashed avo were really nice. Staff were friendly even though they were busy. Worth the trip out there. Better than many NZ country roads. Check out the gallery store as well for local arts and crafts.
This was the saddest meal of my life. I came here because of the stellar reviews and was sorely dissapointed. The menu was nothing special and my meal was just runny scrambled eggs plopped on a plate with a tiny piece of old bread. The place was really loud with food orders yelled across the room with poor customer service. Overall a terrible experience and I left mid meal to go eat somewhere else.
An awesome way to start your day here! A group of six of us were accomdated and we had the best experience here. All of our dietary requirements were able to be met, the staff were friendly and super helpful. The food was reasonably priced and came out well presented. The food has good flavour and all six of us enjoyed our food. The hot chocolate was the best hot chocolate I have ever had! It was rich and fluffy and I cannot wait to come back one day for another. Thanks for having us!
Wonderful visit. Delicious food (homemade baked beans were worth the visit alonevery good service from a young staff which was really appreciated and the gallery was well worth s visit
Loved the bright artwork of the cafe and gallery as we arrived on a dreary day. Coffee and food was great and good service.
Nice food and good coffees. We had 2 dogs with us and found the signage confusing as it said no dogs on the deck but we were told to sit there by staff. It would be great if there were more outdoor tables on the grass as this would be nice ones summer day.
Had a beautiful breakfast. Staff were lovely, food and coffee was great. A lovely place to walk around and see the wonderful art.
A great place for brunch. I had the lavish feast big breakfast. All the elements including the bread was made on site. They were quite happy to swap particular elements in and out. The ceramic garden is worth a look. We came away with two ceramic bird/bee baths
Amazing mosaic work and wonderful gift shop where you can purchase something special.
Visiting Taupō? Make sure you take the 10min drive out to L’arté Cafe you won’t be disappointed. Nice selection of indoor and outdoor tables, some outdoor tables are in the sun and some in shade which is nice. There are 2 large outdoor tables that would seat 10-12. Food is great, coffee is great and the gardens, mosaics and sculptures that surround you are beautiful. There is even live music on the weekends. Loads of space for kids to run around and burn off energy. Highly recommend
A lovely cafe in a lovely setting. The food and coffee at the cafe is of an excellent standard. Good indoor and outdoor setting. Then there is the garden with its art scattered amongst it as well as the garden shop. Well worth a visit.
Amazing gallery with some tasty treats. Dropped in for a coffee and was super impressed. Busy, but worth the effort
Super nice cafe, pretty cheap to. Liked all the art that was around the area :)
Beautiful cafe, the staff is alright but the food was so good! I totally recommend this place but not only for the food but for the lovely mosaic decoration all over the garden. Also, if you made it to this cafe, you have to check out the little gallery.
Great eatery and art gallery.Well worth more time than just a coffee (or all day breakfastwhen you visit as the gardens include all sorts of interesting artworks.Plenty of free off-street parking.Am planning another visit as part of a retreat.Highly recommended!
Highly recommended for its amazing mosaic garden alone but also happy to report that the brunch we had was wonderful. Friendly staff rounded off a very pleasant experience. Only a 15min drive out of Taupo and very much worth it. Make sure to visit the toilets while youre there! The mosaic work is stunning 😍
Great place with outside sitting area. Staff was very friendly, service was fast. Coffee and food were very good. Had the eggs bene with bacon and mushrooms on the side.... yum yum yum
Unique and lovely place, tasty brunches selection! I truly recommend this Café
I took my nana here for her birthday. The art area is lovely although very pricey! There are some beautiful pieces, although you may need to take a loan out to purchase them. The mosaic area is very beautiful and detailed. The cafe was pretty full when we arrived but we were able to get a table putside on the heated porch. My nana wished that the benches had cushiobs ob them like the outdoor chairs because it was very hard and cold to sit on. The food was good especially the eggs benedict which was delicious. I wasnt a big fan of the open steak sandwich or the french toast which I got to try from my husband and daughter. The food prices are also steep. Almost $100 to get 4 plates of food and 3 drinks.
The cafe is quite pricey but the food was good. The surroundings are great as you can look out into the garden and survey the art. Even on a rainy day there are outside covered areas. wifi available ask for password. Clean toilets. Walk round the gardens and the small shop afterwards and hold onto you wallet.
Absolutely loved this place. Such a beautiful hidden gem! Great food, lovely coffee + creative setting!
Love it! I really enjoyed the experience of both art and good food. The owner and manager was super fun and friendly, she offered plenty of good ideas for fun activities to do around town. The mosaic art peices around the property were all very nice and moderately priced. Food and coffee was also very acceptable. A+++
Awesome place for time out & a wander around. Mosaics are clever. Food is yummmm & you can eat indoors or out. You can even buy some artsy gifts.
An amazing place to relax, enjoy the peaceful time in a café which has amazing stone art gallery in Taupo. A feel a must visit place in Taupo. Café has variety of quick bite options as well. Good for groups and families.
