L'OV Osteria Vegetariana - Vegetarian restaurant in Florence, Italy
Completely. Gluten. Free.Fine food and nice service, but a bit slow. Otherwise - cozy place :)
First things first: The food (except the super dry breadwas good! That said, the service was horrible (especially very slowand you cannot expect a basic understanding of English from the staff. Certain cutlery was missing and has not been brought to the table after request. We also ask two times for the bill and ended up going to the bar after 15min. Afterwards we realized that we were charged 15€ more than we should have (we probably ended up paying somebody else’s bill). Would not recommend if you do not speak Italian.
Very good food and friendly waiters, our dogs got water, cookies and cuddles! The vegan options for antipasti and secondi were great, sadly there was only one primi and one dessert that were vegan. The dessert was very good though, as were the zucchini flowers!
Had a delicious dinner and the staff is professional and friendly.
Nice venue in oltrarno, variety of tasty vegetarian options, nice wine selection.
Excellent food. Fresh ingredients. Friendly staff. Good prices. Nice atmosphere inside and out.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and furnished, especially the interior with its plants. The menu is clear and well-declared.The reception was a bit bumpy and unfortunately we didnt always feel welcome during the evening, but maybe that was due to the lack of a reservation. We had three antipasti dishes and one main course. The food was good, but due to the good reviews and the high price, we were hoping for more. Some of the dishes were very oily, which I think is generally a good thing, but the kitchen meant it too well in some cases, as some of the food tasted exclusively of olive oil. In addition, the portions were clearly too small for the price.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Osteria Vegetariana Firenze, even though we were really looking forward to our visit.
TLDR; there are far better options in Florence for vegans. Sat outside so can’t comment on the interior, which admittedly looks lovely on photos. The head waiter outside wasn’t friendly and had a bit of an attitude. Worse however, was the food. Presentation was overall very bad. The flavours just weren’t there in the caponata, the porcini was sandy, the vegan sausages were Beyond Meat. Just inexcusable. My secondi was the porcini with potatoes - and that was it! No sauce, no vegetables, nothing. Just two ingredients smacked on a plate. They really need to step up to justify the good reviews.
We came especially to that restaurant on our last night, it was a long way and the place was closed, even though google and happy cow clearly shows the place is suppose to be open. That is completely disappointing and not fair for people who relay on this disinformation.
Pretty overpriced, no really Italian food, a little bit of an attitude as well. Oh and their opening times seem to be random - if they don’t like the look of you they might claim they’re closed?
Nice place and food was good. Bit pricey.
Went here for dinner on the patio after reading great reviews. Was not disappointed. The quiet location not far off from the ponte vecchio is splendid and has a nice ambiance. The food itself is delicious, and I appreciate the range of the menu. There are many vegan twists on Italian classics but also meals inspired by other cultures. The staff were very friendly and although there were a few hiccups in the service, I don’t hold that against them. We were offered a free dessert due to a miscommunication about a substitution on the dolce menu. Would highly recommend this restaurant to vegans and non-vegans alike.
Amazing food, wonderful servers and the atmosphere is very nice. I‘d highly recommend going here!
Went back here after four years and still very good vegetarian food. We will certainly be back on our next visit to Florence!
This restaurant offers tasty vegan dishes and the staff was very friendly.
Excellent atmosphere, setting and food, let down slightly by slow service (but we understand the climate). The lentil patties were really nice, risotto portion was massive and the friend zucchini flowers were incredible.
An awesome restaurant, I found by chance!!! Everything is gluten free, vegan, tasty, filling and fresh! So seldom do I actually have a choice in a resto instead of begging for a special dish from the chef. The ambiance is very cozy and slick. And the service is super friendly, efficient and staff are so knowledgeable of the offer that menu gives!I will advise this place to everyone who travels to Firenze, irrespective of their dietary preferences.
My partner and I loved this restaurant! Im vegan and eat gluten, but didnt even miss the gluten here. I got the get watermelon and seitan skewers and both were so delicious. My partner got a mushroom dish that was incredible! The dishes were all so unique and they do some magic with the gluten free choices!
Delicious vegan restaurant! It was great to have Italian food made vegan. The food was fresh and the atmosphere really nice! Best to book in advance as it gets busy easily.
So good!! Amazing dishes, beautiful place to sit. All the staff were so friendly too.
Absolutely delicious restaurant with excellent service. We got the courgette flower starter which was divine. Highly recommend! For mains I got the lemon yellow tomato spaghetti and my partner got the romanesco vegan chicken main. The spaghetti was far too lemony for me but the romanesco dish was yum. The sauce was divine!! Maybe it would be nicer with some pasta rather than just chicken. Finally we got the crème brulee which was AMAZING - a must try.Overall delicious and would highly recommend!
Wonderful food. They were busy, so service was a bit slow, but for food this good, all is forgiven. If youre a vegetarian, its an absolute must.
The vegan cheese selection was the best dish. The gnocchetti and the Korean style tofu were both kind of "flat" in favour.
The cheese platter was great option to start the meal.Gnochetti was decent but lacked in flavor.Wouldn’t recommend the Korean style tofu.
Vegan recipes cooked to perfection! Nourishing, creative and delicious food. Plus the warm and friendly service and likewise the pleasant atmosphere make it a one of a kind experience. Don’t miss the carciofi !!
Best vegan dining experience weve ever had. Went for my wifes birthday whilst visiting Florence. Menu is inspired, staff are wonderful, price is reasonable, and the food is 10/10. Wow. (There was even little toy dinosaurs on the table to play with while we waited for our food)
Tremendous restaurant! We were looking for a vegan friendly place in Firenze to enjoy a good dîner. The name is a bit misleading as everything in there is actually vegan! The place: not too far from the Arno River in a busy neighbourhood. The place looks amazing and is rather funny, with those small plastic animals on the table. The service: this restaurant does not feel like a vegan one. It has this kind of fusion/modern vibe to it. The waiters were really kind but also professional! (Yes, I had to taste the wine, uncomfortably, in a very fancy manner in front of the waiter )The food:everything was so good. I was taking hours to eat the garlic mushrooms, so nice! Plates were both great, wine was crazy good, but the most disturbing was the crème brulée. It was so convincing we had to ask the waiter if it really was vegan. The price: really reasonable for such nice plates.Top three if not first place of the vegan restaurants in town.
Nice vegan and gluten free restaurant. The ambient is very nice and tidy, with beautiful decorations. They put plants everywhere and even have real moss! The food was nice, we went on the international womens Day and the menu was set. We had 4 courses each and the food tasted great, very imaginative and creative. Price slightly above average but fair.
Simple and delicious vegetarian food, the place is cool and the staff was super nice!
Our first experience here was marred by a somewhat unpleasant waitress who decided to seat us right next to the bathrooms - even though the restaurant was almost empty on this Tuesday night. (It felt like she was purposely making a statement of her opinion about Americans. We almost walked out, but we were too tired and hungry from a long day of travel from Venice. But, the food was enjoyable enough to gve the restaurant a second try a week later. What a difference! The staff on this Saturday night were wonderful - and the food was, once again, enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for vegetarians - if you can avoid the waitress with the "attitude".
I had the vegan meatballs (€15and I was a bit disappointed as in my plate there were literally 3 meatballs without any side salad or chips or whatever. It was good but I was still hungry after that.
Very well prepared vegan food; you won’t miss cheese or meat here. Lots of tables outside and inside, but make sure to get a reservation. Service was adequate, but could be more warm.
Tasty meals for rich vegans on diets. If this is you, you will enjoy their meals. They use creative ingredients to make their meals, and my wife and I enjoyed what we ordered. The portions are tiny for some meals, and slightly larger for others (the small cluster of green balls are the Pesto/Basil/Olive Pasta (Gnocchi), even for Italian portion sizes (I have been living in Europe for a year and understand that portions are smaller than in other countries).Friendly and quick customer service! The pasta with Beetroot-Cream: Wholesome, but too sweet. There are many more restraunts which offer delicious meals at lower prices, with larger portions. We will not be returning.
Great completely vegan gluten-free restaurant with many typical but also special Italian dishes. As a starter we had parmigiana. Ive never asked so hard whether something is really vegan. The vegan parmesan was just amazing! The main course consisted of two types of pasta, which were also very good, and for dessert there was creme brûlée for that day. I would definitely recommend visiting this place!
Very trendy setting with nice waiters and great food, vegetarian/vegan only. A nice alternative for the typical fastfood tourist traps and very affordable!
Great veggie place with a cozy atmosphere. Tasty menu!
The service was a bit slow as we had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated but the food and great wine made up for it ! This is definitely a place to come back to!
The food is amazing. I went for lunch. Not so much people in weekday.Cheese cake is super amazing. The best ive ever tried.Ravioli also nice with pumpkin sauce. The decoration is super amazing by Thailand Culture.I love it!!!And services is very good, even 1 staff but he can manage all of us very well.Highyly 100% recommened to visit.
Nice vegetarian restaurant with both vegetarian and vegan dishes: great tasting food and very friendly staff. The zucchini tempura and the risotto were excellent. A real highlight in Florence and makes for a nice overall experience.
The food is amazing, it doesnt matter if you’re vegetarian or not. The place is beautiful, modern and comfortable and the staff are very likeable. I definitely recommend the desserts, an unique experience of vegetarian sweets. Delicious!
The food was good and creative, and the restaurant had good vibes. The waitress was helpful and interested in providing us with an excellent experience. We enjoyed all of our dishes except for one, which they promptly replaced free of charge with something we enjoyed. The desserts were also delicious.
Very nice and cozy restaurant. It has a great atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. The food was fantastic. I had some gnocchi and my wife had some millet lentil patties with roasted patatoes. They were both incredible. The restaurant is vegetarian and would please anyone as it is so good. Highly recommend.
Really great food that won’t have you missing meat at all. Everything is also gluten free and once again you wouldn’t even know. Everything was incredibly flavorful. The staff is super friendly and cheerful. A regular when we are in Florence.
Worth the high ratings. Had very decent vegan options, probably the best so far on our Italian travels. Very helpful staff and has a good vibe about the place. Had 3 meals there and was not disappointed. Have very tasty fresh squeezed juices at lunch.
Food was fantastic, very varied and good vegan options too if you cant have dairy. Service was good and fast too. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try something a little different (the purple carrot puree was very nice).
This was such a great experience! It was my friends birthday and from the beginning they made a really special evening for us. The waiters are so sweet and present, the atmosphere is light and welcoming and the food is delicious! We definitely recommend this restaurant and would come back any time soon! :)
Never have I felt inspired by a restaurant until today. The ambiance is beyond beautiful, every inch so thoughtfully decorated. The food is delicious and fresh, and you can taste the love in it. There is something on the menu for everyone, my mom is a meat eater and she loved it here. So treat yourself, and come here! :side note- we came for lunch and it was not busy at all! Quick and attentive service.
Recommend making reservations if dining on a weekend night. Food was excellent & service was good although a little slow due to business and almost a full house. We weren’t in a hurry and enjoyed the time spent sharing an appetizer and bottle of wine. Not a big tiramisu fan but shared one and all thought it was amazing. This vegetarian restaurant is also gluten free - which is amazing as we never would have known with the delicious bread that was served.
Tasty vegan food and amazing service. Also, the setting is relaxing yet stimulating. We had several dishes that were all healthy and tasty and clean and perfectly balanced. Our waiter was helpful in helping us pick among the vegan options and the white, local, housewine was delicious. Also, they play good music, the cocktails look nice and the toilet design is incredible. They had vegan chocolate cake!!! Would recommend
Friendly staff, great food, relaxed atmosphere
