Cheese fondues & other Swiss specialties are served in this cozy, easy-going eatery with a garden.
We ordered cheese fondue (1 potfor three people and they charged us 27 CHF per person, however, the menu doesnt specify that the price is per person, not per pot! 😑
Unfortunately we got ripped off with the price! The menu had 27CHF for cheese fondue for 2 persons and we paid 82CHF and we were 3 persons! The fondue was basic! Does this mean per pot its 27CHF or per person? I dont recommend this place specially as a tourist! Such a bad experience!
I was told this is the best fondue place in town and it did not disappoint by one bit. Set in a very traditional space, youre guaranteed good food and a very friendly service.
Best fondue in Lausanne city!
Good place to taste local specialities. Reasonably priced. Seems to be place where local students go.
Great kitchen
The place is very busy and for good reason. We had the moitié moitié fondue we added potatoes and pickles plate. So good!! I highly recommend this place but do not be in a hurry they are extremely busy but the staff is excellent very friendly and made sure we were enjoying our dinner. This will be a place we return to!!!
Very good fondue
Great tartare, mediocre fondue and the server was very unfriendly with splitting the bill
In our recent visit to Lausanne, my friends and I had a disappointing experience with this restaurant. We arrived there at 13:00 and it took 20 minutes for our orders to be taken. After almost one hour (at 14:15and while we were still waiting for our drinks, we were informed that the kitchen closes at 14:00 and we can only have Fondue which I didn’t like and didn’t order in the first place. So, we decided to leave and find another place. Surprisingly there were people who arrived there after us, ordered and received the same dish as I ordered earlier! I understand that mistake happens, but the way they handled the situation was not professional. The waiter initially told us they are out of fish (the dish of the dayand when I wanted to order something else, he changed his narrative to the kitchen closes at 14:00. It seems they are busy and may forget about your order. So, if you are going to visit this place make sure that your order is well received.
A well hidden tourist trap, Fondue tastes like cheap wine and old low quality cheese,The appearance of the Fondue is good though, which makes is a perfect trap for gullible tourists.
Great cheese fondue!
Fondue here are heavenly delicious, the terrace area has great vibes, staff are responsive and friendly, will come back for sure ♥️
What’s not to like overviewing the magnificent cathédrale de Lausanne while eating some delicious 🧀.In my opinion, one of the best 🫕 moitié moitié in Lausanne and fantastic staff, big up to Carlos!
Excellent place and with a good quality/price ratio! The fondue is so big that it can be barely finished by the double of people it has been ordered for.The waiters didnt talk english, only one of them did.Average price is 25/30 chf per person, so not super expensive
The most renowned swiss cheese fondue restaurants in lausanne very old near the cathedral to have a garden and a Terrace. Very Good fondue with different styles. They even have one served in the bread thats definitly something to try if youre visiting here
Awesome fondue, nice atmosphere and really friendly service.
Great food. Next door to the Cathedral. Staff was very helpful, he helped translating a Menun only in French to us in English.
To avoid if you want to eat a good fondue. On top of that the portions are small. You can eat better buying it at the supermarket. I put two stars because they have a nice terrace. The desert are a joke too. Very disapointed as it has the reputation of beeing a reference in Lausanne. Maybe it was a bad night
Best foundue with truffles and irresistable staff! We will come again 💘
Great classic Swiss restaurant, with amazing staff and even better fondue! Highly recommend if youre visiting the cathedral as it is right next door
Best fondue of the town 😻
Delicious fondue. Excellent, friendly service, great value, charming terrasse in the back.
Very good food, very nice staff. Super!
most amazing salad sauce also loads of cheese plates and great people working also they do all the dishes to takeaway !! really convenient
The place is really nice. The service is also good. I would recommend the hot chocolate at the end.
I was aiming for a good place to eat a typical fondue and this place left me fully satisfied. As soon as you enter you can understand that you are in the right place from the great smell that fills the restaurant.
Such a bad experience. I came with 5 people and we all ordered a fondue(30 bucks each!!!); we finished everything in 10 minutes because it clearly wasn’t enough, when we complained to the waiter he tried to trick us to buy another fondue(another 30 bucks). We left the restaurant still hungry and on top of that my friend became sick. NEVER AGAIN
Relaxed atmosphere and deliciouslunch. This could have been a really nice experience if it wasnt for one detail: we had to pay between courses!! The waiter brought us the check in the middle of the main course because he was "finishing his shift". Then came again and asked for payment -this is really unpolite and incredibly rude. We finished the meal and then asked for 2 expressos and the next check came again - by the same waiter that was still working - giving us no time for dessert or whatsoever. The food was tasty and well presented and the place is charming but this attitude is shameful!
Fantastic location looking toward Lausanne Cathedral. Fondue was nice with both bread and potato and of several flavors (tomato, beer, classic, etc.which were all good.
Very good place to eat fondue.
Im not too fond of the fondue (no pun intendedbut this one was really good. We accompanied it with a glass of white wine, a Chardonne recommended by the staff. The service was also good and quick.Price-wise, its the standard for this type of dish in Switzerland 🇨🇭.
Had a lovely lunch on the patio with a view of the cathedral. Tried the traditional fondue fresh bread and pickles/onions. So yummy! Great location. Friendly service and tasty local wine!
Had a delicious fondue in the lovely garden patio out the back. Waiter was amusing and friendly. Great option.
We came in with a stroller and baby in tow and there were accommodating even though the tables are really crowded. It was a quiet night though so it was fine (space wise). The food was delicious and the service was good too.
A really great little restaurant. Small, independent. Markets itself as a fondue place and it looks like it does this really well. Everything on the menu looked great and our meal was very nice. Swiss traditional food.
Absolutely loved this place. We had fondue, which is the house specialty, and it was excellent. I wenr for the classic version, but they offer several variations - which Id be curious to try next time. I recommend getting potatoes (on top of breadfor the fondue.
They have the same very thick hot chocolate like they used to have in Le Barbar, with the same blue porcelain cups. Its called Chocolad Chaud Maison and you eat it rather than drink it.
Nice place for a good fondue. I took the Prawns Risotto which was very well! Good service and atmosphere. Thank you !!
Very good Swiss dinner, the foundue and the steak tartar are definitely worth a try, but the service could have been a lot faster.
Wow! The waiter was great and the food was ok but almost 100 chf for my wife and I to share an entree, a main, a beer, a coke and 2 coffees! Maybe this is how it is in Switzerland but I left feeling robbed.
Really excellent and delicious food. I was travelling alone and stopped in here for dinner. I wanted something tradition and tried their Fondue moitie moitie and it was excellent. My outstanding waitress, Sophie, explained everythi g and paired the meal with a lovely Nero DAvolo. She also scrapped off the cheese crust from the fondue and did a great job. The atmosphere was cosy and the food was tasty and good value. Would recommend.
Lots of cheese in a fondue - very good and tasty way to warm up the cold outside!
Their food and wine are awesome.Lovely garden, great atmosphere, highly professional staff, and the most important, delicious but fair price cuisine!
The food was good, and the service was great. There is nice outdoor seating. We had the fondue with tomato and potato, and it was good. The duck breast risotto was good, but the duck wasnt very tender.
One of the few places open in Lausanne on a Sunday (most places even the grocery store is closed). The service is friendly. My friend and I went here primarily to try their fondue. We tried the fondue with tomato. It was good but very heavy since the only thing we could dip with were potatoes and bread.Fondue for 2 and one glass of white wine ended up being 57 CHF (~$60USD)
Although very subjective, this place is largely considered to have the best fondue in Lausanne. As far as Im concerned, the legends are true. Very rustic, very authentic, and simply the best fondue youll have in the canton de Vaud
Fantastic cheese fondue and steak au poivre y mourilles. Great with a bottle of Dôle red wine.Staff is focussed a bit too much on prices instead of tastes, but that doesnt harm the experience.
The best fondue place you can find in Lausanne at the moment! The staff is super friendly, patient and professional.
