It is a very famous pagoda of Myanmar and almost everyone knows this place.This place surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery.I just visited this place three four days back its very very cold at night. I went there without taking any warm clothes so I had very very bad but still nice experience.Bad for my body but nice for my brain. Its so peaceful and refreshing. The pagoda is not very crowded now. You must not the morning hours. Its so peaceful to say prayers and meditate. And also very very good to take beautiful photos.

It was a long winding ride on a truck to get to this hanging rock, also a pilgrimage site for Buddhist devotees. Women are not allowed to go near the rock. Apart from this hanging rock, there is no other activities or attractions to explore. You have to stay a night on this mountain before you get another schedule truck back to the foot of the mountain. If this is your first time to Myanmar, it is probably on the “must see list”.

Kyaiktiyo is one of the sacred place for buddhists in Myanmar. Itd supposed to build around 574 BC as the legendary. Currently scholarly research by historians and archaeologists indicate that the pagoda was first built between the 6th and 10th centuries AD. I have been reached there for once around 2018. The weathers are too hot in Summer and Too cold in Winter. Id more like to suggest to visit there during Winter. Its a beautiful place and worth to visit.

Those who visit seem as if they’ve been summoned and perhaps even captivated by some secret siren’s song. I recently journeyed to Golden Rock on an searing hot day to witness its allure for myself.The four-hour drive from Yangon to the Golden Rock passes through Bago and continues into the Mon State. I took a day-trip from Yangon, which involves a very long day of travel indeed. If you were to take this trip, you would be departing at 5 a.m. from your hotel, and returning at around 5 p.m. Most tourists stay overnight at Golden Rock, making the the trip a bit easier from a physical and logistical point of view. However, the hotels on-site are not of a very high standard. The best hotel at Golden Rock is the Kyaik Hto Hotel.

Hey guys I dont understand why the stone henge is a great wonder of the world but this is not and the rock was pretty cool I got to steal a piece of it go back to my home country and cash it out and now I am very rich with many kids who love me:)

Kyaiktiyo Pagoda otherwise known as the Golden Rock is one of those spots which is consistently over your assumptions. Its social factor and otherworldliness are solid. You go there contemplating it is only a brilliant stone however then you understand that is far more than this.

Really disappointed by the Rock, but the view from up there is really nice. We met some Buddhist Monks at the top and took some pictures together too. I can say that the trip there was memorable, for the wrong reasons ahah.

Must visit this place. It has an amazing landscape and a green view.You should try the bus from the base to the top of the mountain. Bus-ride feels like a roller coaster.

One of the most spectacular places I visited in southeast asia. Its a long way to get there and a guide is definitely recommended to bring you there. But its totally worth it. Many locals there. Not many western tourists.

Well..what can I say about this? As a Myanmar nothing could make me proud and feel content than visiting and paying homage to the famed Kyaiktiyo Pagoda! I can never get bored with this place no matter how many times I visited in the past..

Nice to see but surroundings are a bit dirty, the floor fills sticky on your bare feet. Bumpy ride to get there, dont take the cable lift up, it makes no sense.

Beautiful place. And the weather was so cold and nice. The pagoda was amazing! The truck ride up the mountain was Adventurous. We have to be barefoot on top. Wasnt much of a problem but the tiles were sticky and some places were dirty.

One of the best highlights in Yangon.This pagoda is located on peak of mountain with brilliant landscapes and about 3 hours driving from Yangon. It could take you whole day tour to visit.The transfer is one of the most lovely experience of the tour. When the car arrived the village and parked. We would take the cargo truck to go on top. It is absolutely dangerous with whom scaring the height and speed.The trail to come up is not only wide enough for two way car but also very sloped and zigzagging with many elbows triangle. All the driver should be very professional and brave, because just a small mistake, the truck with more than 20 people on it would be flying with out wings.Instead of that, the pagoda is very beautiful and spacious with opened and fresh air. The granite tile floor for thousands meters square is very cool in shadow even in a very strong sunny day.It is truly a proof of intelligence of human to build a very huge construction in a very such dangerous and high location.Highly recommended explorers for new experience.

One of the heritages, too long history can observe there. When i was visited there, it was wonderful views the all day. We can also stands over the clouds , it was amazing. If you like tracking , here is a convenience place cause the pagoda is on the top of the mountain and surrounded.

Fantastic place to go. The tiring part is the truck sending to the top and down but we chose the Cable ride, very expensive!The Golden Rock is a Sacred place to visit! Make a Wish and I will be back again!!

Its a beautiful place for sunset with super nice weather just standing around the Pagoda enjoy your sunset. Even though sunrise would be more cloudy. The Pagoda is one of the most sacred place in Myanmar nearly 4 hours drive from Yangon and the road is good and to go up from the base camp ( truck stationrecommended to take a truck all the way up to the Pagoda it takes about 20 -30 minutes and there is a cable car too on half to the Pagoda the best is to sit on a truck with a nice fresh air but it will be a little nervous for those who isnt used to the zigzag hill road and you might get quite dizzy. Well, once you go there just give it a try and only 2000 Kty around 1.50 USD$

In the land of Pagodas, it is one of the.most popular ones for residents. As a foreigner, the drive up the hill is not For the faint hearted. You travel up in trucks sitting 6 across in one of the 8 rows of benches. The gradients are extremely steep and the local drivers are amazing. A km short of the top you halt at a ropeway station with a charge 5 times what you paid for the truck ride. Please dont bother to get off as you will reach your destination within the next 5 mins without spending an.extra cant.The top is a settlement around the pagoda. There are a few hotels. There are many who camp out the night to possibly see.the sunrise. Dont think it has any impact in the pagoda which is to the west.An interesting detour if you want a change.from seeing land based pagodas with some adrelin rush. Nothing very exciting about the pagoda itself unless you are part of the faith. Being on top of a mountain the views are there.

This is a one of wonder place in Myanmar must visit for Buddhists. The Golden rock pagoda that the rock had being held at the edge of the mountain. Other than that, a visitor can take a bus to the top of highest mountain. And take a walk around 2 kilometers, visit many shop before to the top. if you are nature lover, enjoy Mountain View and want to pray, it should be worth visiting.

This is a must visit place for Buddhists. The Golden rock pagoda has history behind the reason of the rock being held at the edge of the mountain. Other than that, a visitor must be a fun of hiking or love nature or so to enjoy the trip. since its really on highest mountain top and your only option of transportation on top of the hill is by walking to nearby places such as meals, viewpoint, cave pagoda. There is transportation ferry frequently around the area such as waterfall n other pagodas. But if u r nature lover, enjoy mountain view, it should be worth visiting with fairly chill weather.

Got here with a bad cold and cough, and they are renovating or maintaining the rock. Oh well, I was here religiously not tourists. Still feel pretty bad for tourists. Cost too much and all it is “Rock”. There are so many thing I want to post, but I think it’s just me. Pay 10,000 MK tourist Cultural Zone fee for this. Inside the whole area , not one place has any English description about the place.

One of the “Wonders of Myanmar”. Historically holy place. Transportation is way much better than the old days.You can visit with day return trip from Yangon. Still I recommend to stay one night stop up on the mountain and visit around the other interesting areas.Lonely Planet recommended site to visit.

Beautiful view. People spend a lot on gold on pagoda, most of which is flown away in wind. People make a difficult living down the hill. Lots of fake donation spots doing fraud on the way to pagoda. Be aware. Whatever, nature is fresh here, even if nowadays cant match better time in the past.

This pagoda is in the hill top and visitors or residents can only go there by trucks which are modified for passengers. These trucks are very uncomfortable as the seats are small & very very crowded.The physical feature of the gold rock pagoda is quite unique & beautiful, in particular at night time. In addition, dont miss moments of sunrise & sunset

Amazing rock! Beware of the truck drivers up the mountain, its the craziest ride I have ever had. Not fun speeding up the mountain and looking down and the sheer edge. Definitely worth it when you get to the top though. Cable car costs 10000 kyat for a round trip.

Pretty Damn Cool Place to Go Visit while in Burma. This is Pretty Much a Must for Tourists and Definitely it is a Must for the Burmese People. Place is Busy and you can try to do it Cheap, but it will also Cost you when you are on the Mountain. Had a Great Time, Stayed in a Hotel up There, and Ate Well. Lots to See, Lots to Do, and I heard it has a Gondola now, no more Bumpy Truck Rides for Everyone.

It is such wonderful place. Nice weather, peaceful enviroment, wide , clean and safe place for my active baby. Sometime rainning during end May to mid November so try to avoid travelling there. Cable ride is such comfortable for families with elderly or toddlers.

This is one of the world wonder because this rock is famous for the scared Buddha hair enshrined inside. It look like about fall into the cliff but actually it not .It very steady and sort of defying gravity law.Myanmar people usually come here for pilgrimage but for tourist it one of the highlight in Myanmar .The way to go to the tops is to ride a open truck and i quite dangerous as well because of the winding road.It not for the fainted heart people but worth to visit if you are here

once in a life time experience, and one time is enough. getting up from base to pagoda using truck is torturing, and cost 2000kyats for economy seat, up to 5000 for cabin seat.cable car is nice, midway to the top 7000 one way.rock is balancing nicely.good to visit in the morning when floor is cool, or evening when you want to see the rock beaming in gold.

Took a long hike through the mountains to get there which was very tough and long (7.5 miles), but very rewarding at the end. Visited on a full moon holiday so the grounds were very busy with a lot of people coming for worship and camping out. Entrance fee for foreigners is 10,000 K ($6.5 USDper person. Unless you are Buddhist/staying at a hotel/ eating a meal you really only need about an hour tops on the grounds. Temple was beautifully lit up at night with the full moon shining down. Everyone was very happy and in great spirits!

Very interesting experience to see how many pilgrims are coming to see sunset and sunrise over this golden rock. But of course its better without clouds! However to reach the place with dedicated trucks could not please everyone…

Known as Golden Rock. Locating at the peak of a small mountain. It needs to use truck-type mass transportation to reach the peak and is somehow thrilling. There are many people who overnight at the pagoda to watch night scene and morning sun.

The pagoda itself I dont think is the true attraction, but rather the commanding views from the top. Mon state is beautiful, and on a clear day you can see for miles. Its true that the rock looks like it will roll down the hill, but after taking that in, and the stream of men placing the gold leaf on the rock, wander around some and just take in the views. Worth the trip up!

A must see in Myanmar.Be prepared for a adventurous journey in a modified truck.This is not for the faint hearted.It is a steep mountain road.Don’t look for comforts.But once-you arrive you will feel this the place where even gods visit from skySo mythical and beautiful.Be careful when you go closer to golden rock,it can be slippery if you walk down

Interesting experience!!!!.... especially the truck/bus ride up and down! Its not the most comfortable drive!Having said that, the place is amazing, with some spectacular views of surrounding mountainous area... Definitely worth seeing. Do respect the Buddhists traditions even if you are not Buddhist! Lots of stalls to buy all kinds of things, from food to souvenirs... Seeing the porters carry every thing is fascinating to see!

Its unique & different then anything else. The view is great, also a cool little village up there. But if you want to see the sunset be prepared to pay double to go back down on the trucks. The last one leaves at 6pm.

Must visit. Journey up to mountain top before reaching Golden Rock is fun, feelsLike roller coaster. About 30 min up the mountain, you have to squeeze with the locals. Golden Rock is located right at the end of the walk. Nice panorama view. Go during sunset. Will think afternoon is too hot.
