Its a place Ive visited for years every time I call into the Mt. The food never fails to impress

Always really good Chinese, its been there for years for a reason. The only downside is location, hard to get a park sometimes especially in the summer.

It is a lovely restaurant!!!!!! All the food is delicious, one of my favourite restaurant to go to.

Such an awesome buffet restaurant. We went here today for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Their customer service is great, theyre friendly and clear the tables very often when youve finished your food. Really enjoyed the variety and kids had fun too. Will definitely be back

Lovely selection of food in the smorgasbord. Reasonably priced. Food could have been hotter. Desert buffet was yummy.

Ok but some of the food was a bit warm not hot except for their yummy veg spring rolls.

Great buffet and bbq selection plus having a full bar available makes this a very popular spot for dining in or out.

Ive been here 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Have brought different people each time. They also think it is an awesome Chinese buffet. The Stagg are very attentive and easy going. especially for an island family, this place is the best 👌 👍

Had a lovely evening with friends from Auckland food was delicious plentiful and a large selection. A great smorgasbord replenished when required. Will definitely return.

Warning to those who have been going to Kwangchow for years: supposedly the restaurant is under new management and it is evident with the change of quality in the food. After consistently delicious meals for over 15 years, every dish now tastes markedly worse than it used to and it’s extremely disappointing.

This is a very popular restaurant, but if you know authentic Chinese food youll be gravely disappointed. Delightful team, possibly family, operating the business. They are serving what their market likes. Sorry, not for me.

Very spacious with plenty of seating for dinning and the buffet is lovely Chinese cuisine, even sushi rolls on the menu...Yumi! Dessert section with self-service coffee and tea. Licenced for ordered drinks also. Very good price for what you get and we will be coming back as the customer service is friendly here.

Love this restaurant, always plenty of fresh dishes topped up regularly, a feast for the eyes as well as the tummy. Friendly helpful staff and a lovely clean restaurant. Whether dining in or takeaways Ive never been let down.🥰

This is one of my favourite restaurants, love eating in or taking out. The staff are very friendly and approachable. Service is top notch too.I fell in love with the Meringues at the dessert station, I now have dessert before the mains when we dine-in.

I wouldnt usually pick a buffet but Kwangchow does the format really well. Lots of choices and all of it tasty. Great for groups or families rather than a romantic night out.

Had Lunch here. I tried them all foods are tasteless only ice cream and hash bites are fine. Cheap Buffet cheap taste doesn’t worth it. But the interior is good

Very professional and very clean. The food is fresh and delicious and also the dessert is basic but nice besides youd be too full to have a big dessert. I recommend to anyone.

Weve been coming here for a few years and honestly we think the food just keeps getting better! Great selection of Chinese dishes and the best trifle for dessert!

Thank u for having dinner with you guys,but we didnt even enjoy it. The soup was so tasteless and they makes us waiting up for 30 minutes. Honestly we highly dont recommend 😏

Not bad value for lunch. The salad was fresh and the noodle dishes were best. Staff are very friendly and have excellent communication skills. Dessert included pavlova - quite Kiwi.

Good Asian cuisine at the buffet, Awesome BBQ selection and more. The Mushroom Sauce on the tender steak was my fave. Polite staff. Will definitely go back!.

Very average, after reading the reviews I thought this would of been better. Buffet is way overpriced, food was average and atmosphere is very similar to a citizens club. Nothing special and if you like the food stick to the take away option. I would of spent less at one of the nicer restaurants dwn twn the Mount.

This is always a delicious takeaway or dine in restaurant.Every time we come to Mt. Maunganui we look forward to getting a meal here and eating at Pilot Bay.

So...who ever puts negative comments or low mark here,should be taken off,as this place is mint buffet restaurant.I mean...common..you go to a buffet restaurant,you choose to go to buffet restaurants and you winge and complain bout things you never experienced in Ala Carte Restaurants?! They greet you from the door,it’s NZ$ 28.00 all you can eat,food is fresh and crispy,supper yummy,staff is well spoken and attentive,from the waitress down to the bar man.It’s super clean,well presented,professional and yum 😋 All that for NZ$ 28.00

All you can eat chinese buffet for 20 NZD. But I tried this one and it’s so delicious but quiet expensive. It cost around 40 NZD. The have a strong wifi also. And the buffet itself is very complete. You can get all the appetizer, main dish, salad, and dessert as well as the ice cream. Nice park view outside of the restaurant. And you can find this place easily.

I love this place! We went here twice while we stayed at The Mt. We did not need a reservation as we went during the off season. The food was fresh and hot. The dessert was my favorite, especially the pavlova and anzac biscuits, everything is homemade. The staff are lovely and remember repeat customers. The price is decent especially if you attend during lunch.

Sometimes its just nice to have a buffet dinner. But if you look at any given dish of the buffet, the food is average at best. Not bad, just average. We found it was best to avoid the deep fried dishes and instead enjoy things like fried rice, vegetarian egg noodle, cashew chicken, and beef with black bean sauce. From the salad section, the imitation crab salad is pretty good. And they have an interesting dessert bar. In all, this is not so much a place to enjoy good Chinese food as it is a place to enjoy a fun buffet experience.

Nice family restaurant with all you can eat buffet.This is a BYO but tell the staff before you plan your meal.Entre salads bar, main courses, desserts and tea/coffee included for buffet.Value for money. 💷 💷 💷.Pro tip - try not to go crazy when you fill your plate but try bit of everything. Take your time when you eat and enjoy a tea or coffee with your meal to ease up the food traffic 😂.Best time to dine is dinner.
