Kwan-Riam Floating Market - Floating market in Pathum Thani, Thailand
Kwan-Riam Floating Market in Pathum Thani
Description
Privilege
Yeah as a tourist attraction .... not really. But for us staying nearby it was a great place to walk too fir a couple of hours.
MoreReally enjoyed this market its good for children as theres animals and feeding them is fun 😁
MoreNice and clean floating market. Somewhat different from a traditional Thai floating market. This one is cleaner and looks a bit more modern..
MoreVery nice place and peaceful. By the river. I will visit again with better time.
Enjoy eating and merits of offering food to the monks on the canal way.
Nice walking around good food places
Ghost town. Nothing much to see and I don’t think it’s worth the time to visit if you don’t live nearby.
MoreGreat place, lovely people!!!! Highly recommend it!!!
Good place for weekend relax
Complete Waste of time. We reached Sat 330pm, barely any food and the river STINKS.Thought it’s a market ON water as indicated by the name, turns out to be a tiny mini mart NEXT to the river, took us less than 5 min to finish browsing. Animals seem to be starving, the only entertainment is to feed pigeons with bread and watch the fish in front of the temple. I feel sorry for the 400B spent on taxi. T_T
MoreI went on a Saturday late morning. There were not many people around. There were some food stalls available. There was this particular stall selling rainbow cheese that you could bite and pull at length for fun :)You can feed goats there too for 20 THB.To get here, go to Phra Khanong BTS station, then walk to the Phra Khanong market bus stop on the main road. Take Bus 519 and tell the driver "Talad Naam Kwan Rian".After alighting , you will need to walk about 300m to the market from the main road. There will be a free motorbike ride from the market to the main road. So if you are lucky, you might just catch a free ride in from the main road.
MoreFish are massive and nice to feed them, great boat noodle place at the end. Still suffering post Covid .. great morning.... Start to a bike ride.
MoreVery nice environment. Kids will love feeding the fish.
It was a pleasant experience. The market was clean and not too crowded (we went during the month of January 2022My 10-year old son really enjoyed feeding the fish and the canal water was clean!
MoreMany shops still closed because of covid-19. The oyster omelette was carbonized black unrecognizable and inedible. Her pad Thai was just so so. From Sukhumvit 55 took it took about an hour by klong boat and transfer to a city bus just to get there. if you go to this market it is because you are visiting the sister temples on either side of the canal.
MoreDidnt really plan to come here properly but because its so visible on the maps I decided to give it a try. And what a market and hang out spot its turned out to be. Loads of food and drinks stalls on both sides of the canal that goes through the middle of the market and most of them are decent and reasonably priced. I didnt spend that long here but I really enjoyed it and can easily recommend anyone whos looking to spend a chilled day out somewhere in Bangkok to check it out. Ill definitely find another opportunity and come back here again when its not too bloody hot if you know what I mean 🙂
MoreBig area temple compound lot of food stall. Food are nice also lot of variety
We went to the temple, not for shopping in the market. A parking spot is hard to find during the weekend, even in the late morning. Too many people, not to mention social distancing. No intention to go there again.
MoreThere was lots off things to see or to buy. It is a extremely clean place 👍🏼..lovely to walk around. But It was extremely quiet due to no tourist around, due to the virus outbreak around the world. Me ,I wore 😷 and there handsanitiser everywhere. It is a shame,as it is a lovely relaxing, clean place, just outside bangkok,at the mini buri area. Come and visit,if and when possible? 🙏😷
MoreThis place is one of the floating markets in Bangkok. I think tourists may not know because of the little foreigners. There is a materialized street that sells cheap food and has a variety of shooting points. There was a legend that men named Kwan with a female named Riam love each other but disappointed in love. This story was created as a film many times. If you want to come to visit, I advise you to come by boat from Pratunam until the last pier and up to the taxi. In the future, I believe that this place is famous and known among tourists.
MoreIts wonderful place for making merit and finding something to eat from the floating market.
MoreThere is food and some Thai special accessories. There are also some animals such as kangaroos, horses and turtles. Residents in this market are very friendly. The destination of this market is floating boats. The cost is very affordable. This place is only available every weekend.#letsguide
MoreIts okay. Has a petting zoo and a few good things to do. The boat trip is all in Thai so unless you have an interpreter the busy ride had no real meaning. Its is clean and child friendly
MoreThe place is just a market sitting by a small canal. Well, you can expect to find hundred kinds of food here.A small tips for floating restaurant, the price can be crazy way overpriced in exchange for the canal view.A small zoo section is very entertaining too.Lots of parking space.
MoreThere are so many things to see and to buy in Kwan Riam. If youre looking for cheap accessories/jewelries, youll find some for a really good deal here. Also they have a boat ride that you can take for 40Bhat. It was very refreshing :D
Morecome here evrytime when has free time.relaxing place at bkkmy kid alway love to enjoy boat 40.bahtfeed food to animal. 20 baht /bag. always negotiate 6 bag for 100 baht . lol
MoreMany food items and animals that you can feed
Such a nice gem in a part of town that is not touristy! They have a lot of the same items for sale like the other more touristy markets, but everything is much more reasonably priced. As my pictures suggests, there is a legitimate river that this market is built on as well. The food stalls are also wonderful. Worth a visit if youre in the area!
MoreVery nice local market with the temple.
Amazing market with a feast for the senses. Many great bargains and delicious foods!
MoreThe most classic love story of thailand Kwan Riam Story Market and Temple. The Sean Sab River pass between temple and market so many of clothes and toy shop and food. Very excited for me. I recommended here.
Morehi..this place is a very good point for couples. for shoping and eatingsome thai food and have fun!!but its only open at some days of week ..not open alwaysyou can use airport link and leave in RAMKHAMHAENG station andthen use bus 113
MoreLots of food to enjoy. They offer a boat tour that goes up the river and then back down. 20 minutes to see the river nothing is sold on the river just about ride.
MoreVery well organized for the week end floating market here. Very good environment, clean and tidy. Variety of good food from all part of Thailand. Nice old style coffee with the old style coffee shop, friendly owner and reasonably price. Having animals such as Alpacas, ponies for the kids to ride around the area. Swan in the river, We offer some food to the monks who came along the river by boat, walk around two temples that established between 2 side of Sanseab river, Free transportation to ride customers back to our vehicles..what else we want more? Well done and thank you so much.
MoreKhwan-Riem floating market Located between two temples. Another place I decided to come with my couple on Sunday. People are not very much, but the weather is quite hot. There are many animals such as chicken, duck, buffalo, flamingo, ponies, alpaca, kangaroos, turtles and we can watch them for free, and Im pity for them because they are not supposed to be here actually. By the way, the place is very beautiful. I took a lot of photos that day. The restaurant will be closed from 5pm, hence, should come before 5pm.
MoreThe market is ok and though in open air, there is shadow and cooling by vapour fans. You can also make a boat trip on the canal ... but there is really nothing of any intrest to see. BORING and no value for your money (40 baht pp+ tip (free)
MoreKwan-Riam: Are the name of two lovers. (Kwanloved (Riam), but Riams father killed her by a sword and Kwan suicided after her. They died but their love story lived and continued to be narrated at this lovely floating market. It is really a very nice place for a day out, nice food, no entry fees and it has very clean and nice air-con washrooms. Highly Recommended :-)
MoreOut of the way small weekend floating market off the tourist track. Nice atmosphere. Closed by 6pm.
MoreVery calm and peaceful. Quite a drive out of Bangkok centre but worth it. The market is not very floating though as all of the barges are stationary. Mostly visited by Thais, but still a lot offered for tourists.
MoreIve loved this place since is so pure and authentic you cannot immagine. There are no tourists . When I went I was the only european out there. Get ready because they do not speak any english, but youll find out how to understand prices, how to order food or buy souvenirs. Amazing place for kids since, sad to say, but there are many animals in cages, and usually kids like to feed them. You can try and taste some real thai food, particular fruits and many pastries and desserts from the tradition. It worths a visit if you are around the MinBuri area.
MoreNice market and good temple. Like to visit here.
Anice place to visit and see the monks morning alms by boat. (make sure you are there before 8 amafter making merit enjoy the Thai sweets and foods that are for sell on both sides of the river. It is also nice to walk around some of the stores that sells handmade items.Take a boat ride up the river and watch the Thai children dancing in Thai cultural dress. Make sure to give them some money!.
MoreIt is not really a traditional floating market where local people selling things on their paddle boat. But rather putting a huge boat on the canal and selling food in it. The other food and snack selling, shopping and animal feeding area also available along the both side of the canal. In summary it is just good for everyone to spend time in weekend.
MoreNot what it use to be. No more boat people selling produce and products. Its all sold in shops now.Have added animals, and birds, swans, lambs, lamas, Shetland ponies, giant turtles. But dont buy food to feed them. Example feed the Lamas and it cost you 20 Baht for about 5 sliver thin pieces of carrot. I expect he can get about 300 pieces out of 1 carrot. If you want to shop for clothes (not many and knock offsor eat you would be well worth by passing this and stay in BKK
MoreNot only a floating market, there are many stalls around with food, fruits and other staff. Definitely worth visiting. Better to come early in the morning, but we were there at 10-11 and it was still okay. Farther from the city center, but reachable by local bus for just few bahts.
MoreGreat local market! It feels like a market specially made for locals to spend their family time here. It has lots of local food options, games and animal feeding for kids. I was surprised to see ponies, alpacas, kangaroos, swans, big turtles etc. here! Didnt spot any tourists here so you can get a good local vibe here. It isnt very big but you could spend an hour plus over here. Youd think the toilet for a market would be dirty but the toilet here is the best - air conditioned, has oil fragrance, toilet bowl is the japanese style ones. Overall a great experience here! Good to visit once.
MoreAwesome placeGood viewNice peopleBudget fairLocation far from middle BKKToo Many amazing Animals !!!!
MoreGood local food with reasonable price and open for weekend and holiday. Some animal should not be here for tourist or may be they need more proper place
MoreThis place has some great little restaurants and is a nice small market to wonder around. But a HUGE plus is that the toilets are clean, modern and air-conditioned!
MoreGood place to chill and grab some lunch with family or friends. The environment really good, fresh air, clean and convenient. They have several animals there such as wallabies, parrydog, flamingos n etc.
