Beautiful beach. There are two ways to get there. A more shorter and easy one from the street side and a longer and more difficult one from a farm with parking (100 NOK).

We had no chance with the weather but the beach is beautiful anyway. Good to know : the hike is short in distance but still demanding. It can be muddy, with many rocks so its not an easy walk : solid hiking shoes are mandatory. Usual parking spot was full so it added 1km each way to the hike.

This was one the most beautiful hikes we did in Norway Challanged only by Romsdallsegen hard to choose which of these is more beautiful. You shoul do both. Others we did were Husfjelt and Floya above Smolvæer.We starded from a road and hiked first to beach itself and then to Reyne a mointain above the beach you must go there to get the full experience of this magical place. We took a different path back down that was extremly mudy and wet so prepare a pair of dry socks and shoes for you in your car. Your feet will thank you.

I dont understand any positive reviews about this place at all. Firstly, free camping is small, but you can find another about 1 km south. Trail has wooden planks above the swamp parts, which are relatively flat. The rest (majorityis very steep, slippery rock trail. Very hard, especially on descent, with no markings. Much harder than other hikes in the area. Lackluster sights, just a very small beach. Mountains look better on the road from Reine. Takes at least 2 hours to go there.

Beautiful beach behind a hike. Quite many people tenting here and popular trail. For the feel of privacy, leave early.Trail was quite muddy in some parts so good shoes adviced.Parking spots on the southern side of the hike trails fill in quickly.

Amazone beach, you need to deserve since you need to hike for a bit the view but it totally worth it ! We went there in winter, it was amazing and I guess it would be a totally different environment in summer but as beautiful! Don’t miss this spot when you’re in the Lofoten

My favourite hike in the whole of Lofoten. Its a bit more off the beaten path - you have to drive your car to Fredvang and walk from there or just hike in from Fredvang kryss if you plan on going by bus (I did the latter and it took me 2 and a half hours one way, which was a bit longer than expected). Although I was "blessed" with rain coming from all directions (so, standard Lofoten weatherand got soaking wet on my way there, the descent to the beach was still surprisingly spectacular, and I was also happy to find some relatively dry places to pitch my tent just by the beach, even though it seemed like monsoon season in August. Last but not least, even though it was peak season, I only had to share the beach with 4-5 other people sleeping there, which I really appreciated.

The most beautiful beach Ive ever seen. We were almost alone exept 2 tents. Prepare for a short but tricky hike over slippy rocks. Check the weather before.

Beautiful beach, we camped there for the night, the hike to get there is a bit more challenging than expected, with a section going over some pretty big rocks. It can be very slippery on rainy conditions, come prepared.

It’s still a little bit cold at the end of June. The wind is quite strong. The beach is small.

Really enjoyed this hike! We were the only ones at the beach; it felt very secluded and untouched— very beautiful. The highlight of the lofoten islands for me!! Only thing to note is that the trail can be a bit hard to follow at times, but hike is super worth it.

Greate hiking path til this increadibly beautiful beach! It takes about two hours to get here from the parking place. There is a part of the path with big stones near the beach and a bit steap, so it would be good to wear hiking shoes.

Good for a trip about 1.5h to get there. We visited early in the morning when the route was not so visible because of snow.

In winter with a lot of snow it is a demanding hike to go to Kvalvika Beach - but it is worth it!We walked for about 2 hours with stops for photos. The first half is easy but the way down with 50cm snow was quite difficult. We walked without snow shoes.

A place you definitely have to visit if you are in this part of Lofoten. A great walk leads to this beautiful scenery. The walk is pretty long but it is absolutely worth it when you arrive at the end and you are able to see from high the majestic beach with its emerald color and go down to touch its freezing water

Great hike to a beautiful beach which takes about 2 hours. In some parts there is a steep climb up so be prepared to use hiking boots. The parking places are limited in the area so be sure to arrive before noon to catch one. It is also possible to camp at the beach.

Very nice! Sad to see all the plastic that comes ashore from the Atlantic. Pick any square foot and you will find plastic debree on either the meter or millimeter scale.

Very touristic place, but for a reason. The hike to the beach does not take too long and it is easy accessible to everyone. However, the last part downhill towards the beach is very steep and it can be challenging for someone if it rained the day before and there are many people trying to go in the same/opposite direction. The beach offers many spots for placing a tent and relax. The ocean water was incredibly cold even though we visited in late July. Dont get scared though, take a little swim and you can wash the salt away with the mountain water that comes down to the beach. They set up a little tube that provides fresh water and can be also used to clean dishes or refill your bottles. Parking your car at the beginning of the trail will cost you a few kr depending if you will stay overnight or just in a day hike.

A 2km walk from the main car park near the start. Parking isnt easy during busy periods, we found a spot about 800m further down the road and there are more as you go.The climb up is easier than the climb out. On the way back from the beach its almost right onto rocks and boulders for about a 200m climb. Not too difficult just another feature of getting to and from the beach. We arrived around 1730hrs and there were about 8 or 9 tents in place all pretty well spread out away from one another. By the time we woke up and left there were 42 tents pitched. Most were in their own spots but some were right on top of one another. Despite this it was relatively quiet. We had the sun during the evening and then the rain at night which allowed the tent to cool down a bit but still warm with the long days of pure sunlight. Our only extra guests were the sheep.Great views and a really nice beach. Worth the wee bimble up and down.

Strikingly beautiful location, but too overcrowded. There were 35 other tents besides ours... for a more immersive wildcamping experience go to horseid beach.

Amazing beach! The hiking trail to the beach takes some effort. Its a 1-2 hour hike and can be quite hard depending on how fit you are and its not suitable for small children. But IT is worth it. Beach is super beautiful! Keep in mind that it is not a public beach. There are no toilets and no trashcans. You need to carry everything you need with you there and also carry it back. Take your trash with you and keep the beach clean! Beach seems quite popular. There were lots of people there and many with tents and staying over night. (Points for carrying tent all the way). There is very limited parking for cars where the hiking trail starts. I hope local community/goverment builds a bigger parking area on the future. Great place! Definitely worth the hike!

Beautiful beach and a nice hike there. Took us about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the parking lot to the beach, with photo breaks.Quite a lot of tents had already been set up as we arrived around 9 pm, but there was room to set up the tent. Bit windy so bring some warm clothes.

A beautiful beach. You can find the best views from the ryten-mountain/fjäll which is next to the beach. Hiking to Kvalvika beach from the Kvalvika beach trail head took us 40 minutes. From Kvalvika beach up the Ryten-mountain it took 1 hour more. All in all it took about 4 hours to hike up the mountain to see the views/take some pictures and hike back to the parking lot. We did all this with a very quick tempo and all of us are in a very good physical condition. I would say 4 hours is the minimum time it takes to do the hike and stop to take some pictures in the meantime. Hike is sometimes very muddy and slippery, so dont use your best shoes. Hiking shoes are very ideal for the route. The hike from parking lot to Kvalvika beach is quite easy, but the second part from the beach up the mountain is challenging and takes more time. If you want to find where the closest parking lot to the beach is, search "Kvalvika beach trail head" and you should find where the trail starts. There is also a medium sized parking lot (for about 15 cars). The parking lot is free, but usually quite full.

Do the loop walk, rather than return the way you came - look at a map. Return path from the other beach, its much nicer/longer walk, passes a series of lakes, ends up at the road, twenty minute walk from the car park. We didnt see a single other person, was so peaceful and wild. See photo...

Jaw-dropping! Camped here for 2 nights and Sunset is just amazing here. Made my way Hiking from munkebu till here but paid very worth by amazing beach. hike to a trail called “ryten” and you will see one of the most spectacular view of your life, tosca water, cliffs, and green mountain. Be here at the end of august, the trail so muddy, and slippery. Just be careful folks!

Really enjoy this beach. You have to walk few hours for getting there, than you can add some more for having a nice and beautiful view. What is very sad, its people coming and camping there and who dont take back their trash !!! We can put this area as the dirtiest one in Lofoten. So sad to see that because Lofoten is very beautiful area

A very rewarding (and demanding hike for those with little real hiking experience, such as myself). If you are not pro, do not suggest to go all the way when the west is not good or if you are feeling weak for whatever reason. However, if you are determined, the hike that leads you to that magnificent beach is simply wonderful. Wear hiking shoes and windbreaker. And beware that no public toilet is insight.

Visited here a few years back. Stunning beach and grass areas surrounding it. The hike is quite easy, would recommend as a day trip or stay the night and hike the mountain Ryten to capture the sea from above. If looking for a quiet place to stay this is quite busy with tourists during July at least. Might experience heavy winds so make sure you are staying with a high quality tent or camp further from the shore. #letsguide

Beautiful beach, but there was a lot of plastics and a lot of tourists. I recommend going to another beach. The trail was really muddy, and longer than we thought. There is a good parking area right where the trail begins.

Well worth the hike over the pass to get to. Its pretty popular but thats by Lofoten standards, so still very easy to feel like youre there on your own. Would be amazing to camp there and watch the midnight sun.

Beautiful beach middle of the mountains. You can take tree hikeking options. All are not the easiest to travel as the trail is full of elevation and rocks. Shortest path was quite growdy on summer day. I would recommend the southern one as it was a lot more relaxing. And the mountain lake on the way was a beauty. Norther route takes you to high edge with some great views.

What a beautiful place! The hike to Kvalvika beach is not too bad, but from the beach you can hike up the Ryten mountain -- a much harder hike but absolutely worth it! You get a view of the whole island from up there.

Fantastic scenic beach, about one hour hike from the road. Parking might be an issue on busy days. Hike further up to Ryten if you have the time, it takes about 2,5h return trip from the beach. Fresh water can be acquired from a small river on the northeast part of the beach. Remember to keep dogs on a leash due to roaming sheep, and always take all trash back to the container by the road parking.

Wonderful beach where you can only hear the sounds of the sea. Short but though hike, especially the descent towards the beach which is on slippery rocks.
