Kutaisi, Georgia, K'ut'aisi
Cultural heritage museum in a 19th-century bank building, with medieval weaponry & historical art.
Very Georgian (inflexibleservice. Only two rooms and not really too special
An interesting place is the city, an important chronicler of the countrys past. With a variety of unique exhibits. From ancient times to the present
Small, interesting but probably not much patronised.
Historical Museum Restaurant Kutaisi City Center. Nice little place in Kutaisi Georgia, food was good and reasonably priced. The service of the premises were young and vibrant though lacked the experience of trained staff in the service business… My beer was served in a chipped glass, my main course was served in two different orders and wasn’t cooked very well. The sausage meat was dry and poorly served, therefore it unbalanced my meal and started to frustrated me. Needs some care in the food preparation and passion but Still potential for growth and service.
Old ancient antique here. Nice place to visit to reveal the history.
Its good, a small museum in the center of Kutaisi, no English tours.
just fine.
It was nice learning about Georgian history and there arts. I think everyone who is interested in history would be fascinated with the place.
If you are an English speaker, at least, pay that little bit extra for the personal guide. Mine was fantastic!
Small museum in the city center but really interesting spot for history enthusiasts 🎓The museum features different things from different ages, ancient weapons, sculptures, jewelry and icons.Entrance fee was 3 lari as I remember.Items have description but I suggest to take a tour with a guide, it would be much more interesting.
Definitely worth the visit for history enthusiasts 📚
Only a few rooms are open for public, the rooms on the ground floor seem to be closed although the doors to them were open. The security guy just said "No" without any explanation. Maybe some renovation is going on there.
Quite poor. Just a couple of rooms.
Maybe worth but would suggest to take a guide.
I really dont know why this place has such a good reviews. It doesnt worth a single GEL to spend for a visit. Museum looks like it was from different era, with glass cabinets, limited descriptions and basicaly nothing else to interest you. Maybe they have important artefacts, but as a non-russian speaker you dont have a chance to read or learn about them. This is not like museum should look like nowaways. I am a person who likes going to the museums, but this one is a big NO.
Kutaisi State Historical Museum, formally known as the Niko Berdzenishvili Kutaisi State History Museum is a museum in Kutaisi,Georgia. The museum contains more than 190,000 artifacts, displaying the archaeological, numismatic, paleographical, ethnographical and spiritual heritage of Georgia.
A pleasant surprise with items Ive not seen before
Very interesting and great tour with David who told many interesting facts and stories about the regions and Georgias history!
Small but really interesting museum. Must see if you stay in Kutaisi
Museum that everyone must visit while traveling in Kutaisi. We hade an amazing museum guide who explained everything very interesting and joyfully.
Seems like a reasonably good, if small museum. But when we were there, the ladies working there turned lights OFF to the exhibits as we started viewing them. When we left, they turned the display lights back on.
Most important place to visit in Kutaisi.
A few interesting expositions from stone age to 19th century, weapons
If you are kutaisi good to visit once
Only had 2 rooms yet the artifacts were really cool. The exhibition was comprised mainly of religious artifacts and military equipment. If you are into historical warfare it is a must see. It took me one hour to thoroughly see everything.
The main hall of the museum was surprisingly well presented. There are a small amount of showpieces, but a good presentation of the material. The administration of the museum is commendable.
Not a big museum, but it features very interesting exhibits. A beautiful icon collection, gorgeous manuscripts, esp. Shota Rustavelis The Knight in the Panthers Skin with very Persian-like illustrations, antique weapons, costumes, etc. — a diverse picture of the regions rich history.
Small but nice. :)Entry: adult 3, student 2, child 1 GEL
this is place you should visit in Kutaisi to understand history of region
Small museum but good
Small place, only 3 lari to enter. English translations for the earlier Bronze and Iron Age objects, as well as the weapons in the 2nd room, etc are sadly minimal but there is more in-depth explanation offered for the gorgeous goldmaking artifacts. Just beautiful. The main room has a charmingly dilapidation ceiling.
Place where you can see our history. Service is in very high level. I hope you find it interesting
Saves Georgian culture from the best way
A small but a neat one. It shouldnt take more than 45 minutes to cover the museum.
Interesting excursion and an insight into the history
Nice museum, but only has 2 rooms.First room has some art, some artefacts.Second rooms mainly war artefacts and a few pieces of clothes. They could promote more of the local art, perhaps.
Very important location for international Visitors in Kutaisi.
Very cool moseum
The place is open when they feel like it. Tried on two different weekdays to get in and was locked both times. It was not a holiday and the security guard on the intercom was extremely rude. Dont bother.
Okay for a quick look but nothing amazing.
Labels are not detailed enough. Just "oriental manuscripts" is not enough. What is the language? What is the book about?
Small but well displayed collection of old artifacts
The museum is located in the center of the city. The exposition is from the mezolith era to the XIX century. There are very interesting historic and art exponant for example guns, georgian traditional clothes, icons, old books.
Not too big, but some pretty neat artifacts. We enjoyed this museum a lot.
Not much to see. Only one floor is open, rest is closed. Narrow minded nationalistic view of history. Mostly clerical kitsch.
Interesting place with various materials of arts
If youre interested in archeology and old manuscripts and drawings, this is place to go in Kutaisi. Nevertheless, the staff dont speak English, but mostly not even Russian.
Ok but there is not much to see.
There is a diverse collection
Its a small museum, you can pass it and not understanding about it.
