This is an unique place which makes you ponder about art and its destiny with time, These colorful, elaborated kilims and rugs are the products of Kurdistan nomadic life style which will not survive in the 21st century.‬

Although it is called a textile museum, there is much more to it. It is very interesting to watch the different types of textile and the meaning behind each and every single symbol on them. There are very nice and accurate displays. If you are a foreigner visiting Kurdistan, I would say this is essential to visit, but even if you are a Kurd, I still recommend you go to see it just to become more familiar with your culture, I promise you there is something to learn!

It is very interesting place, you can see all kinds of old tools ancient people used in various areas of their life. The place has calm and comfortable cafe upstairs.

Some of the must visits in citadela not to be missed. U can see traditional way of life in Kurdistan countryside, tribal way of distinquish in clothing for men and women and also beautiful traditional handmade carpets, kilims and rugs made in 1900 still looks like new. On site there is also cafe and gift shop. Place was visited by many politicians, actors or singers theirs pictures can be seen in entry area.

It is amazing that you can visit such a historic place.

Amazing place to learn history

Very nicd place every thing in there is art and old stuff used in there and it ia very popular place but some kind small place and you can look at all thing about 5 minute and if you are looking for some special please go to nabaz caffe at Peaceful beard in middle of country i worked at there he buy old stuff like 2500k just for caffe you will like it

It was beautiful, exciting and fascinating visit ever. There were a lot of old traditional Kurdish stuff too look at and discover. Some of them like man and women old kurdish customs, there were old rugs which were created by hand and there were sea rocks! They were really nice and colourful.

Nice added value to awesome citadel.Brings even more cultural background as visiting the place. Must visit even for those who are NOT interested in carpets. Strongly recommend

This is a great cultural heritage site for Kurdish culture. I also really enjoyed the café on the second floor. On the diplomatic wall of pictures, they mis-spelled Miss Lovatos name. This was definitely worth the 1500 dinar.

This museum is the rear and one of the best in middle East . and it is funded bay Lolan Sipan s personal collection and this museum is private

wonderful and very interesting place , one place you should visit before you leave Erbil. deeper and explore more about Erbil era. enrich of knowledge, lovely place and you will enjoy spending your time here. trust me. I did it for 6 hours there !

this is the first place you want to visit in the city because of the history and its right on the citedel

Its basically a museum dedicated to local textile products like rugs or clothes and also how their made .There is a section where its shown what a traditional home objects of a kurdish house 😉

Great collection of Kurdish textiles beautifully displayed in a newly renovated building inside the Erbil Citadel. If youre lucky enough to get a tour from the museum director, hes an incredible source of information about Kurdish history and culture. Added bonuses: the best gift shop in the city downstairs and a peaceful, elegant cafe on the top floor.
