Am Wall 207, 28195 Bremen, Germany, Bremen
Art museum including works by Rubens, Rembrandt, Courbet & Picasso, plus temporary exhibitions.
Really high quality art museum. Only problem was the locker situation. I dont carry cash/coins very often and they had a mandatory bag check/lockers that require a 2 euro coin.
Interesting modern art museum spent a couple of hours walking around
Awesome.
A very nice museum with a nice mix of old pieces and modern expositions and experiences. There is a surprising amount of art to visit and experience, give yourself a good hour or so so you can see it all. English translation is provided throughout, which was very convenient. Careful, the restaurant downstairs is expensive ; 8€ for still water and a very small dessert.
An old and very nice art museum, beautiful new and old paintings. Very nice exhibitions. I loved the clear and concise explanations accompanying each piece and part, which added so much to my understanding of what was shown. Well worth the visit!
An amazing collection of art from medieval through to present day. The works cover the breadth of western European art movements over the centuries and the information is well presented in both German and English. The gallery itself is beautiful too. Well worth visiting if in Bremen - it was a highlight for us. The gift shop would do well to stock some prints and merch of the actual German artists featured rather than just the odd Van Gogh or Picasso at the museum. We saw some beautiful German pieces that would have been great to have a souvenir of but alas the only ones on offer were internationals.
Good art exposition, a bit peculiar as the paintings are clustered in thematic way.
Beautiful, diverse and vast collection in a beautiful building.
Both the permanent collection as well as the temporary exhibitions were versatile and interesting. Whole family enjoyed the visit.
Not bad..
Very diverse collection of Art, something for everybody who loves art
Has an amazing collection from digital art to painters as Monet, Van Gogh and Delacroix. A must see if you are in Bremen or just passing by.
Me and my bf were there for at least 2.5 hours and it never got boring. I just wished for there to be more pieces of bpoc artists.
Museum bigger than expected. Lots of different art to see. Nice.
great exhibition about manet and friends. I loved the more contemporary art upstairs too! very intriguing. the only thing is that I kind of got lost on the 2nd floor because there were so many rooms and I didnt know where to start. could just be me though haha
Excellent collection of art pieces and an even more excellent, if this could be said, curation. Five golden stars for the art curators and the museum experts who designed a, fresh way to enjoy the art pieces, almost creating new art in the way they grouped paintings and sculptures, and the way they displayed them. The collection of sculptures about the representation of humans is wonderful. The big ship hanging from the ceiling in a room that talks about the seafaring past of Bremen but also of its colonial impact is another. The connections between Goya and Manet, Manet and Astruc are also very cleverly constructed. The rooms grouped by feelings, by places (forest, sun, etcare very well designed, and allow for classic and modern art to be displayed side by side, building connections in the mind of the visitor. All in all, a great experience, thank you, Bremen Art Museum!
Very great place :)Lots of paintings, obviously. Dont liked all the artists, but lots of paintings were astonishing. Also a great place for a date ;)
Great Picasso collection! They only accept a 2€ coin for the coat wardrobe and the café next to it would not give a change.
Impressive collection from all periods of art history. The temporal exhibition was dedicated to the works of Pablo Picasso. Museum posses some works of this artist, but it this exhibition it was much more of course. Unfortunately such temporal exhibitions could became quite crauded so I prefer equally good permanent exposition.
Only positive emotions from the visit. Very impressive collection of art organized in the chronological way telling the story of the Northern Europe region. Also great collection of Picasso work from different periods of his life. Convenient accessible location, free admission for visitors under 18.
Definitely worth a visit!
Nice and cosy interior. We wanted to start a city walk and didn’t have time to spend much time. Maybe next time!
Absolutely loved the gallery, I saw the "iconen" collection, the portrait of Van Gogh, Marilyn Monroe and other beautiful pieces of art. The museum also has a very interesting and lovely gift shop, I bought a pin in there
First visit to a gallery in 7 months ... rewarded with a superb collection in particular 20th Century & Dutch rooms
Wonderful art museum with lots of paintings covering most European art epochs. We loved the explanations for each room and painting, telling little stories about the artist and whats on the painting. The building itself is beautiful, featuring a café and restaurant. Very enjoyable.
Great museum. Amazing Icons exhibition
Ikonen was well worth the trip to Bremen. We spent 4 hours thoroughly absorbing the exhibition.
Icons with a difference. Great exhibition, great house, wonderful city.
The exhibition "Ikonen" its a must to visit, hurry up, just till 1th of March 2020
Really good exhibition space with a good scope of art work. Maybe a little on the expensive side for a family visit but worth it for the culture.
I was here attending the exhibition named Icons. It was very good in fact. Many beautiful exhibits, some of them are very famous in fact, they are definitely worth to be seen. I really enjoyed it. The main exhibition is closed now, I think until May 2020. There is a cafe and shop inside. In the shop there are many different books about art, but the most of them are in German language.
It’s a good museum in Bremen.
There were only two small and very modern exhibitions open. Only found out everything else was closed after I bought my ticket. Big dissapointment.
I loved the permanent exibition as it contains the masterpieces from different epochs and stylea. But most of all I liked the current exibition of Karin Kneffeld artwork 😍😍. The only sad experience was in art-shop: none of the three cards were accepted by machine... So bring some cash if you plan to buy some books or souveniers. Also get some coins with you for the lockers to leave your bags/coats
Splendid museum with numerous breathtaking paintings (nice combination of classical, renaissance, post impressionist, abstract modern etc).Spent an hour glancing at almost everything. Would recommend allowing 1 to 2 hours.A must visit for any art enthusiast :)
Very nice place. I wish to be here again to spend more time.
Diverse and very entertaining. Highly recommended.
Nice mueum nearby the city center. I spent some hours fully immerged in a lot of different attractions. The Museum covers a wide range of different currents, from german expressionism to french impressionists, contemporary art, cubism, neo-classicals, and many more. The stress is quite on the latest 2 centuries with some older german master too.
Kunsthalle Bremen offered a lot of different exhibits to look at, ranging from classical to modern day Art. It was a wonderful experience to be there. The entry fees are a little crazy but for the amount of work put into making your visit thought provoking and inspiring I suppose I could get past the €13 Euro they make you cough up.
Breakfast is incredible, they do great coffee, the cake is some of the best in Bremen and their fresh orange juice is to die for. And I havent even mentioned the service. All staff are so friendly I just HAD to tip them. Long live Engel Wein Cafe.
Nice permanent collection for a small art museum. Very whimsical curation. Tinder sponsored and exhibit that paired art with a Tinder profile. Nice exhibition on Hans Cristian Anderson. Apparently, Bremen was a hotbed of computer graphics in the 603
Amazing exhibition about love. Great lady who was guiding us. Loved it all!
Nice art hall with different and changing exhibitions.
Highly recommended!!!! What a nice museum! Their collection is cover from classic to modern . Also the curation is nice , definitely worth a visit!
Art museum with a good collection, including work from local artists which I appreciated as a tourist. Easily included if youre doing a walking tour of the city center.
Interesting collection. A couple of good things. Not always well set up. What I really disliked its that the personal had obviously an issue with me and almost followed me to yell at me. Very unpleasant.
Nice collection of German Arts. One of the must-go in Bremen!
A quite large art museum with a large piece of contemporary art (I have shot several art installationson the first floor. The second floor has works from the Middle Ages so far, with great attention being paid to German artists.
Very snobish that they dont translate anything to any other languages. Even though there is art from france italy etc all titles are only in german. It seems Lazy and snobish compared to hamburg kunsthalle
Impressed with the numerous collections of great compositions of artistic madeness and authentic patience. Also the white-haired gentleman Curator was really benevolent and kind. Im looking forward to go back there again someday.
