Kunnai - Thai restaurant in Sector 1, Romania
I had two big piece of fish in seafood redcurry. Expensive prices.
Nice atmosphere and good thai food, excelent service
First time in a Thai restaurant. Good food, large portions but i expected to something more.
The atmosphere was lovely and the staff is very nice, and I would have loved to finish the delicious baked and marinated prawn glass noodles, but the spice was unbearable after about half, and the menu doesnt classify it as spicy (our waiter said it only had pepper and coriander, its just the quantities and spice of it I wasnt warned about). My mother ordered the tom yum soup and also had some trouble with the spice, but she likes it - I personally asked and switched my entree from tom yum to spring rolls specifically due to a stomach problem. If there was an indication on the menu for how spicy the dish would be,so that I could avoid it, or had been warned I could have given it the stars it deserves for the delicious flavours it had. I cant not recommend it either - it is definitely pricey, and I would just like to raise awareness on the spice level and the fact that its not properly pointed out, and if I had the knowledge, I would have spent that money on something not harmful to my stomach condition.
Best thai from town! Dont try others!
Good place for Thai food and very clean .Good and polite waiters.
So I was looking for restaurants to try and came upon this place. So I decided to give it a go.ServiceThey were able to sit me outside with no issues. Food came amazingly fast. Service was professional and accommodating. No issues what so allFoodI got some wine, water, Beef Thai fried Rice, and Crispy Stir Fried Prawns in Black Pepper Sauce. All the food was freshly cooked. The beef in the Thai fried rice didnt have much flavor and the fried rice was ok. Seemed to be missing something. The Stir Fried Prawns were pretty hot and fresh with a great flavor.RecommendationWhile the food was good, I think its pretty good considering the location. If in the area of say give it a shot.
This was the best curry I e had in Europe. It was a slow but increasingly delicious spice and the beef was tender, which is also rare in Europe with the amount of tough rump steaks. It was a nice restaurant with great service as well. I would definitely come back for more of the curry and other items that had a great plate presentation. Some of the appetizers came out like works of art and were equally delicious.
Delicious food, really the taste I was looking for. The mango rice dessert is irresistible and I wasnt able to share it.Nice staff, very good intentions though they might not be the number one fans of thai food.
Amazing food. Authentic and prepared with love. I could not recommend it more
Great honest Thai food with stylish touch prepared by a happy bunch (kitchen is in plain sight and wonderful to watchand served by a solid professional staff. Located in quitte neighborhood with plenty of parking and small terrace at quiet roadside. Anyone would become a regular!
After visiting hundreds of restaurants from all budgets this has to be the worst in terms of customer service. When we entered there were customers on 4 tables (around 10% full restaurantbut we were not greeted by the staff. We waited at a stand for table assigning and no one came to us. They just passed us (we are a group of hospital doctor friends smart casually dressed). We then decided to sit down on a table and read the menu. Once we decided on what to get we waited around 30 mins before they took our order. We prompted them twice in this 30 mins. The staff were not busy they were laughing and on their phones. After ordering food came in 2 mins and we were very surprised considering this is not fast food and a more premium restaurant. We saw the food: deep fried seafood. No chef skill at all. We order 5 dishes and only received 4 dishes. They did not give us or offer more water. They avoided eye contact with us throughout. On paying same issue of waiting around 20 mins with an empty restaurant (7pm on a Friday). The toilet was unusable. There was tissue dipped in farces on the ceiling. This was unacceptable and I told the manager and he said he will get it clean. In summary: AVOID!
Hidden gem 💎This restaurant withstood its expectations with ease. The food was great 👍We ordered beef and chicken with rice (optional), caju, pepper, vegetables and sauces. I recommend the beef more than the chicken - its more delicious and juicy.Although we made a reservation, the place was not that busy on a Sunday evening.Bonus: the house desert - mango ice cream 🍦! Unexpectedly delicious! (It has hot milk rice at the bottom - wonderful combo!)
Absolutely delicious food! We had 4 different dishes, one chicken with cashews, one noodle dish and two with beef. The desert was an icecream with sweet rice with milk. Everything was really tasty, the service was very good, the restaurant ihas a fancy interior, with a intimate and relaxing atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant and I will definetly return here.
Very good food and very nice place. Probably one of the best restaurants in Bucharest.Keep up the good work
Very authentic flavour. Portions are a bit small. Normal spice Tom Yung Gung could be hotter, and could be larger with more prawns for the price. Nice selection of drinks to enjoy with the meal.
Very nice!Excellent location , very up scale looking .Excellent menu .
The service was fast and efficient. The food on the other hand was a bit disappointing. I have eaten Thai dishes more than once. While over all correct, the dishes I ate here had some minuses:- the stir fried meat was not as tender as I expected- I did not found the finess of the Thai aromas in the dishes. While spiciness is expected for Thai, it should not overkill the other flavours.
Loved the flavour of Tom Yum. Do ask to make it less spice if you dont like spicy. Mango ice cream was yummy
Its a pretty location. Really quiet part of Bucharest and plenty of parking spaces. The people serving there are nice and quick to bring you anything you need. The food was good, quickly served, and really hard to choose from as there are manny dishes.Overall, I recommend this place if you want try something new, you like thai food and want to eat well.
The service was the major disappointment! The curry was great, the vegetable stir fry a little bland, but I didnt have big expectations from it, the yellow bean dessert was good. What I didnt like was the fact that after we paid for the meal with the card we clearly showed that we didnt have small bills for the 10% tip so we tried to call the server but they avoided us, and after waiting for about 10 minutes we left and didnt leave enough tip. The whole experience was ruined by that small moment, which is a shame because the place has good food.27/3/2022: The service still sucks, the food is still awesome.
Food was ok. Not as good as I thought it would be. Service was very good. They got me a seat though it was full and a reservation was required. Disappointed with the shrimp cakes, thought they would be better.
High end Thai experience. Exhaustive menu with lot of rice, noodles and curry options.
Fantastic food, nice ambience and good service.
Nice Thai place. Had satay, curry sausage, as well as red and green curries. Pretty authentic flavours. Everything was super and the prices were reasonable. Nice atmosphere and the waitstaff were great. Open kitchen so you can see everything going on if you want. Recommended. Will go again next time there is a craving for Thai.
Very good Thai dishes. I suppose fairly original. As good as one of the very few Thai restaurants in town. So far I know also the eldest. The best point to notice is the constance of the cooking quality, which unfortunately its a seldom quality among restaurants in town
Best thai place in Bucharest; Romania and eastern europe. The food is always at top standards and the athmosphere is great.
Several years ago, when I first saw Kunnai restaurant in Bucharest (I guess it was just launchedI thought about trying their Thai food once. I had the chance to order their food this year (cause pandemic happened and I preferred to use their delivery service insteadand Wow! It was such an experience! From the amazing authentic Thai food, to their presentation, to the packaging used and the kindness of the person who delivered it (Dorin, if Im not wrong). Im a big fan of Asian food and their food was taking me to Thailand in a second. I cant wait to get back to Bucharest and finally enjoy their restaurant in presence, too. Excellent job!
Probably one of the best thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Amazing food coming from an open kitchen setup and a modern atmosphere.Staff is very friendly and attentiveBe sure to book a table.
Nice location, great Thai food experience.
Underwhelming.I was seated on the terrace. The ambiance was okay. The service was rather good. Nothing special, yet the waiter was quite helpful. The food was so and so. The pork was rather chewy.I dont know if it is a cultural thing for Romania, but the pieces of meat were way too large for bite-sized. Also the Thai flavors were pretty much toned down.On the plus side they have both the QR code for the menu and the paper version.
Well, probably the best asian food in town. Had a chicken meal with vegetables, which had just the right amount of everything, very well balanced proportions. Also ordered an extra rice with vegetables that was so tasty. It’s a must visit for asian food in Bucharest
The place is modern with a colour of thai culture. I reserved a table cuz the place is packed. The menu is very diverse. The food is delicious. You can see the chefs in the kitchen. They only thing to criticize is the smoke from frying in the kitchen. The service is good too.
Sunday early evening, still calm.Nice dark-grey place with tasteful decoration. The dishes portion were generous, perfect to share. The food was good as it should be. (I am Thai, I know well what I am talking about.)The cocktails were delicious. Kind of slow to be served but worth every minutes waiting.Beer goes better with Thai food than wine, in my opinion. The mango ice-cream was too sweet. Maybe better without the syrup.
The place is comfortable with a peaceful dark elegant decoration. The Hugo cocktail based on prosecco with the addition of mint is refreshing. The flat sauted noddles with chicken were earthy and generous. The beef salad was fresh and tasty. The desert, mango ice cream with sticky rice was a miss. Not enough rice for the ice cream to balance the flavours and textures and on the top of this a sirup was added which made the whole thing far to sweet.Overall a pleasant place.
The best thay food in Romania, the spring rolls are verry good, and also the beef with black pepper, high quality
The food there is unique. You can hardly find such tasty asian food anywhere. The staff is very friendly and responsive to your every of your needs. The atmosphere is also relaxed and the children are always welcomed :)
Best ramen in Bucharest, I could come here every single time for the ramen itself. The 4 star rating is for the service, I don’t mind beginners, that’s alright but this isn’t a cheap place, as we can all agree that an international restaurant shouldn’t be, but considering those facts, you could hire some better servers.
Knowing al Thai restaurants in town this is the best Thai food in Bucharest. Nice place also. Thank you for your service and we will back soon.
Great service. The food was not really my type but the desert were really good. Overall a nice place. Careful with how spicy you order the food, they are a bit spicyer than usual.
Amazing restaurant! The food is really delicious and not extremely overpriced. The service is good too. You can see the chefs cooking your food. They seemed to be all thai. The place looks cozy and relaxed. Totally recommend it.
Cozy atmosphere, nice restaurant and friendly staff. The food is a little too spicy.
Been here several times over the years and it’s still one of the best Thai curries I ever had. Actually everything is wonderful!
Very nice staff, and the interior is very classy and beautiful. They also have outdoor seating. Local restaurant in a neighborhood not in a tourist area.Unfortunately I didn’t love the food. The chicken with oyster sauce was served with minced/ground chicken not pieces of chicken as I had expected. The medium spice level was ridiculously hot and spicy. Flavor was good but too much sodium and spice. The Pad Thai had a nice presentation but lacked flavor. Very sweet and kind of boring. I’ve had much better Thai food elsewhere. Not worth the Uber ride in my opinion. They do a lot of take away as well. Overall the food is average but the decor is beyond.
The food served is adapted to the european taste, the serving is quite fast and the staff is doing a good job. some times ago they use to leave rice on the table to your discretion but not anymore. i think is some darkness in this place, the light is insufficient. the prices are very high.
Great food and excelent service. The interior si classy without beeing extravagand. The food is a bit on the pricy side but the service, food quality and portion size justify the price.Higly recomand the Sticky rice with mango ice cream desert.
Lovely Thai fusion thing going in here. Pleasing, clean and comfortable venue 9n different levels with attentive and friendly staff, who have good English. We had two quite excellent starters; corn fritters and vegetable wraps served with spicy and tasty soy and sesame, sweet chilli and chillu and lime sauces/dressings.For mains we had a chicken dish and vegetable green curry both accompanied by bottomless rice. Both dishes were super.Washed down with four Tiger beers, the bill came to £43 which we thought very reasonable indeed. Would have no hesitation in recommending.
Simply excellent! Came here first two years ago and was baffled about how TASTY the food was. Sure, the restaurant and serving was great, very helpfull staff doubled by the presence of the owner, a very nice lady. Came back two weeks ago, nothing changed. Excellent food, serving and of course, the kind presence of the lady owner. Had a very good chicken with caju and a bannana dessert. Definitely recommeded. Getting there may be a bit tricky, get a cab.
Such a good food! Brought me back to the Thai experience! Mango w/ sticky rice was crazy delicious!
Great experience with Thai food. Everything we tried was tasty and beautifully arranged.Too bad though they only have foreign wines and no local ones.Good service as well.
