Kumo Hibachi Steak House & Sushi Restaurant in Point Pleasant

Always makes my taste buds happy!!! Great food and great service makes this my favorite comfort food spot.

Do not go here if you have issues with gluten! They say they are accommodating, but you will be sick.

Food was good but when I walked back to the rest room their was sushi meat sitting out in trays. 😳

The food was absolutely amazing! The waitress was very friendly and outgoing. You really get a lot of great food. I would definitely come back when down for vacation again.

We loved our sushi, tuna rolled with scallions (I forgot what it was calledand beef tataki. We were okay with the Ramen and did not like the pad Thai (but what would we expect for a sushi and hibachi place). Staff was incredible. Friendly, fast, informative and we loved seeing kids there as it shows how much of a family restaurant it is. Great place to go after a day at the beach.

Very quick service. The sashimi deluxe was delicous - thick pieces and fresh! Gyoza dumplings were good too. Tried the naughty girl and spicy girl rolls. They were OK, but nothing compared to the sashimi! Would definitely go back to try other rolls.

I will never go anywhere else for sushi! The food was perfection from the takoyaki to the ramen to the hibachi beef, we enjoyed the best food at a decent price. What a culinary delight! I highly recommend it of youre in the area!!! **Update: 7/23/22 came back and tried the shrimp fried rice, the cheese dumpling appetizer and, of course, had more sushi. I stand by my original review, its my favorite sushi restaurant.

Way more attention to detail than other similar restaurants. Everything was excellent with a super friendly staff. Sushi is very good with rolls where you can actually taste the ingredients. This is definitely the only place I’m going for sushi from now on. You must go here because the one in Brick is not the same owners. It’s only the same name.

A pleasant dining experience. Service is always friendly. Everything always looks and tastes fresh, and plated nicely. My go to when Im in the area. My daughter thinks the spring rolls are the best. The rest of us go for the sushi. Dig the mochi ice cream too. Nice little family owned/operated place.

Ordered for pick up on Uber eats. The app said 50 minutes and I showed up after 45. Waited a full hour outside and she finally said she was wrapping my food. Took another 20 minutes. Sushi was great but it took 2 hours and I will probably never order from here again.

Even tried the lunch habachi shrimp and it was delivery - shrimp absolutely done perfectly which I find hard believe with delivery - these folks are master chefs. Once you go Kumo, you wont go back to wherever else you have gone.Ordered several times. everything I order is amazing especially salmon alvocado and jalopeno - like silk and avocado from the freshest alvocados - no dark spots and the sauce the bestbest shu mai i have tasted.for a while - and delivery was to spring lake and still warm - the salmon tartar was so fresh and tasty and my fav inari was so good. a little pricey but all items seem to be made from scratch so worth it.

Best spot for sushi in Point Pleasant area. Outstanding service, always friendly and welcoming, both on the phone for take out and in person dining in. We came here quite a bit before covid and since have been ordering take out. Take out is super easy, order on the phone and pick up at window or using one of the usual delivery apps.Sushi is always fresh and their pricing is very reasonable, esp for the quality. Besides the sushi and sashimi, some of our favorite rolls include: Chorishis Fire roll, Valentine roll, Crystal roll, Ninja roll, Fashion roll, Jade roll, Coconut Shrimp roll, Black Dragon roll & Volcano roll. Attached pic is of a bunch of rolls and hot dishes we ordered recently for a birthday party and they were nice enough to put everything in a big to go platter for presentation and easier to share.Their hibachi is also very good and always cooked perfectly. Solid noodle dishes as well. Parking can be a bit challenging with limited street parking but just remember to park in the back lot, heading north on 35, turn left before you get to Arnold Ave and walk around. BYOB but liquor store right next door w/ everything you need.All in all, very good sushi, always fresh, great hot menu items, good prices and outstanding service. Def recommend trying.

My family orders dinner from here regularly! They are great and have never missed an item from our order! The staff are always so kind & will once in a while throw in an extra treat when we have a particularly large order! They also are always sure to tell us when they have a new item or something else we may like! Their green tea ice cream is phenomenal - I recommend it fried!!

Food is okay. Not great not bad. But make sure you ask for extra soy sauce they give you 1 packet for 4 rolls lol. Annoying.

Food is good, take out timeline is pathetic. Give yourself an 1 hour buffer; or call before you go to pick up. My Door dash person has been waiting for an hour..

We ordered sushi via Uber eats Friday June 26. We ordered two spicy tuna rolls and a hamachi roll. The smell of fish was pungent. It was not fresh at all and we had to throw it out because it was rotten. Would not order from here again.

Went here for takeout. The sashimi is very soft and delicate, indicating great quality. It almost melts in your mouth! Excited to go here tomorrow.

Worst place ever!! Waited over 45 minutes for them to bring out soup for the hibachi table. Horrible service and truthfully they forgot we were even at the hibachi table. They need serious help with service.

Stopped in with friends after a day at the beach. Pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing.... we actually are still talking about it!Only regret... we didnt try the Chicken Miso Soup!

Worst Hibachi meal ever. Honestly it was doomed from the beginning. We were a party of 12 and they paired us with another party of 6. the problem is they only had 1 chef for all 18 people. he had 2 grills going and certainly impossible to pay attention to all food cooking and do the little show all these chefs do. Part of the meal was burnt and the steak was rare. What was worse is he used only 4 eggs for fried rice for 18 people, used no garlic, butter or any other spice. the only thing he put on the rice and the noodles was soy sauce (and not enough of it i might add). He did the same thing for the vegetables. The funny thing is i asked him to use extra garlic in the beginning of the meal and barely used any cooking my filet mignon. Bottom line is it was the most tasteless meal i ever had. I will never go back.

Good place to stop in and get your sushi fix. Not great overall. But easy and quiet place.We didn’t do the hibachi in the back.Service was fantastic. Although the waitress was very young and didn’t really know the menu.There is no alcohol but you can hit the store right next door and they have everything to accommodate you.All in all a great finish to a day shopping on Arnold.

Second time there, and probably will not go back. The waitresses there are very young, and no very little about the food. We had a party of 4, and all of our dishes came out at completely different times. The one waitress spilt soup on myself, and took a few minutes to bring me a bunch of wet napkins and I had to clean the table and chair myself. She also did not know the difference between udon or soba noodles. Just lack of training by the management.My Pai Thai Chicken came out smelling of wet dog. Which is a sign that it wasnt cooked long enough to get rid of the aroma of the fish sauce. I couldnt even take one bite, and they tried to make me pay for it. No manager ever came over, it was all up to the poor untrained wait staff.

Freshest sushi Ive ever had. Cute inside and visually pleasing. All rolls/special rolls are amazing! Kani salad and bacon wrapped scallops are to die for! I go everytime im in PPB.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Wide variety of soup bowls; vegetarian or meat dishes. They are very hearty and filling as well as inexpensive. We also ordered sushi to try which was very fresh but we took most of that home as we were so full. Well have to go back for dessert as they serve both tempura ice cream and mochi.

Fast and friendly service. Open earlier than most sushi bars. Dim-lighting and relaxing atmosphere. Great for a quick bite after the beach or walking around town.

Weve it at Kumo. My family loves sushi. I prefer the cooked "sushi" lol. The always make us feel so welcomed when we go and treat us like family. If we dont bring our daughters they always ask how they are and what they are up too. They have delicious daily specials and they have quick service most of the time. They are byob which is a double plus! They also offer a large selection of sushi rolls cooked and uncooked. As well as a hibachi that you can still order at the table even if you dont sit at the hibachi table.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Came here for my dads birthday, food was outstanding, service was excellent, better than any hibachi place I’ve been to in New Jersey! Looking forward to coming back!! Highly recommend.

Ive been here 3 times and every time is better then the last. The special rolls are amazing. The Kumo roll and the tuna lovers roll are great. Any apps they have are amazing as well

The best hibachi Ive ever had. Everything was very flavorful and had its own distinct scrumptious taste.Edit: Prioritized a bigger party that walked in without a reservation.

Kumo is a delightful restaurant. The owners and wait staff are so welcoming, the food is outstanding, and the "local" feeling is refreshing. A go-to place for a quick meal or a venue for a special celebration. If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of their adorable children! (The tofu teriyaki is fabulous.)

Great BYOB, the food is always fresh! They are very careful to make my food gluten free. Updated decor on the inside looks cool not cheesy.

Sushi is great, and the gyoza was tasty as well. Ive only had takeout from there, but I imagine sitting down would be nice too.

Sushi and soups are great. Hibachi is just okay. Staff is incredibly friendly and kind. Very helpful and attentive.

Together forever sushi roll was amazing. The hibachi was pretty good but they were pretty heavy handed with the sauce and used it on everything.
