On a residential street, this quaint hostel and nightclub is a 4-minute walk from Sucre Cathedral in the Plaza 25 de Mayo, and 1 km from the Ruta 6 highway.Featuring wood furnishings and beams, the relaxed rooms and dorms offer private or en suite bathrooms; some have bunk beds.Breakfast is available. There's a casual bar/restaurant with regular happy hour cocktails, and a nightclub. Other amenities include a furnished courtyard and a garden.
Very loud all the time. But it is a part hostel so you did it to yourself. The live bands that they had and the club area on the weekends were great! We really enjoyed our stay here and got lucky to have a 10 bunk shared dorm room to ourselves. The bathrooms were very small but doable. The showers did not have the warmest water though. This was a good location in regard to the center and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the balcony in the room had a beautiful street view.No bed curtains.Only thing to be aware of is if you actually are staying here to sleep...its gonna be hard.
Personally, we havent take lodging in here but during the nightclub time it was pretty interesting. Very mindful bartenders and great partying in the place. Though weve really had a tough time with the heat in there it was pretty great.
I suffered transphobic treatment by the staff and owners of this place. If you belong to the LGBTI community or are an ally, do not stay here. this is not a safe place!
This is not a hostel, it’s a club. We couldn’t sleep more then 3 hours because of the music.
Its a wonderful place for my!!!A wonderful place with many environments of your choice. The drinks are delicious!!
The hostel is good, it has everything to be amazing (hot shower, blankets, outdoor area and ok breakfast). HOWEVER >> there is ZERO respect towards guests and that’s a terrible aspect. Music is extremely loud (I live in downtown São Paulo, I’m used to noise - but def not this loud that makes the bed dorm shakes at 2 AM). There are parties and concerts from Tuesday to Sunday. It’s impossible to sleep without sleeping pills or whatever might help you fall asleep. The plates of dishes were dirty AF. food and drink are overpriced (and truly not worth it). It’s a shame cause it’s got potential, but it didn’t deliver and it lacks in customer service.
Do not stay there if you want to sleep, a thing you are suppose to be able to do in a hostel. This place is more a night-club, concert hall and restaurant then anything else. Well situated, good place to spend time with friends to have a drink and perhaps enjoy a show, but not a hostel. They have loud music all day long until late at night.
Definitely the worst and dirtiest place Ive stayed in. We got a private room and the bathroom was full of mold. The power outlet did not work and when asked to fix it, they said sorry its weekend and cannot fix. These guys charge so much for a private room and dont even change a curtain full of mold. Really sad to see how some hostel owners are so cheap and careless. Also this place isnt really a hostel but more like a club. Weekends they have a full club open till 4am so no sleep. You will see drunk people all over the place smoking throwing up and getting kicked out by the security.Their breakfast is just bread and butter.Overall go here if you want to get sick and not have a comfortable stay
We had a great Saturday evening. The disco plays good international music, also EDM 🥰. We can’t rate the hostel
Party hostelGood attentionCan be loud at night
HORRIBLE experience with security at this hostel. One night the manager kicked my friend and I out of a common area next to my room so some politician could sit there, even though the politician said he didn’t mind. Then, security refused to let my friend come to my private room with me to get some things she left there and was literally chasing us around the hostel. The building itself is very nice and location is good. Breakfast was very good. However, bathrooms were mouldy and I only had hot water half the time. Wifi was terrible and super spotty, could not get reception from my room and it would only connect to a network 10% of the time. In the private room with shared bathroom, you had to walk across two outdoor courtyards and up a set of stairs to get to the bathroom which was annoying in the middle of the night. The hostel had a large bar/nightclub which was fun with lots of Bolivian people. However, note the dorm is immediately next to it and will be very loud with music going until the morning most nights. The private rooms in the courtyard are calmer, but you can still hear the music.
This hostal is great, individual rooms are nice ( without heating but warm water). Above all it is integrated with local population who come to eat, drink on evening and the saturday party is repurated among the student crowed. Only advise: avoid room over the patio too noisy with the saturday night party.
Would have been great if they didn’t charge you for private rooms in the garden where people party and its impossible to rest or sleep. Loud music, flashing lights... the worst experience possible
I had a great stay here. The rooms were clean, showers hot, breakfast varied and tasty.I also found the staff so so helpful. Natalie had endless time for my questions and was so willing to talk through tips and advice about the local area. Carlos also was amazing at soothing my nerves when I was running late to get to the bus station. He dropped everything and came with me to get a reliable taxi driver there, he also gave me a contact number I could call if anything went wrong at the station. Thank you again Natalie and Carlos!I’d definitely come back again
The staff was rude and not helpful at allThe rooms are very nice and the location is goodBe aware there is parties most of the night and it is almost impossible to sleep until it is over
A good hostel, lots of travelers and a party almost every night. Good vibe
Nice place to eat, dance and have a good time with friends and family.
Good vibe and well located. It is party every weekend so à bit noisy for the people that want a quiet place
It was nice enough. Our room was right next to the street so it was super noisy and the door to the balcony didn’t close properly. The toilets were quite far from the room and the toilet seats have those horrible foam seats which squish as you sit down. The hostel is a very good location. The breakfast buffet is a big range but they don’t have any plant milk which is a shame! The staff were absolutely lovely and had our laundry done really quickly at our request! They are a credit to the hostel.
We had a blast at this hostel !Staff is friendly and helpful (they also speak English)Neat and tidy although they threw parties on the week-ends
A lovely place. Overall very good. One of the staff had a bad day (I guess), otherwise I would have given 5 stars
Only wanted to stay here for one day but in the end stayed for 10 days straight. Beautiful outside area, super friendly staff (plus manager), and the best breakfast youll find in south america.Sucre is one of the best places to learn spanish (value for money and Kultur Berlin has an amazing partner spanish school just one block away.
This place has a lot of potencial which is not used unfortunatley..An amazing big Patio, but could use some more areas to chill like hammocks, otherwhise no one goes there. Maybe organise some more events, like beer-pong etc to bring people a bit together. The Wifi sometimes doesnt work at all, not available in some rooms. The showers most of them are Cold! I would expect for this kind of hostel for sure Hot showers everywhere! One of our Toilets didnt work in the 10 dorm room. The beer prices are too high, if you expect people to drink in the hostel you gotta lower them a bit.If you dont like to party, then probably avoid this place over the weekend as it gets super loud till 3 am.So a lot of small details which could be fixed easily. The good stuff, Breakfast is amazing. the beds are nice and rooms are big. The hostel is really big, and the food was quiet good. Also the parties were nice!
A nice place to hang out and grab a bite
Its a good place, its clean and a warm service. It has a bar, so if you dont have problem with loud music or like the party its an excellent choice. The brackfast its one of the best I ever taste at hostels. And the restaurant, has good options.
Good beds, best breakfast on town, nice atmosphere : please come here ! (be aware this is a party hostel!)
A hostel with different activities every evening. Can enquire at the reception or the on site restaurant for the evening activities. The room is very spacious with bathroom and toilet in each room. We had female dorm but one of the cleaner who is a guy didnt even bother to knock on the door before coming in to clean or make up the room. I was taken by surprised twice even jumping out of my bed when he came in to clean while my friend and I were having our nap. But the beds are comfortable and warm with individual power outlet and light for each bed. The breakfast is really good and they offer cheap set lunch too. If you want a quiet place, this is not a hostel for you as the evening activities can continue up to midnight.
This is a full on party hostel. I stayed on a Saturday and they have a disco opened up until 3AM. Not a good place to just rest. Only gave it for stars because even though they warned me it would be noisy, they did not warned that it would be that noisy. Miscommunication from both parts I guess. Decent breakfast!
Kultur Berlin is located at the city center with awesome rooms. We were really excited arriving there, hoping for a good time. We picked this place because of the highlighted best breakfast in town (and because we are Germans 😊).Why only 2 stars?1. The breakfast was disappointing. Only fruits, no eggs, no sausage, no cheese, sometimes no juice, really nothing you expect when reading "best breakfast in town"2. Laundry service gave our white cloths new colors. When complaining we were told it was our fold. We should know that they put everything in one machine and that the Bolivien shirt quality is so bad...3. WiFi was basically not existend, only at the reception which lead to a lot of people spending their full day there. We dont even understand how you can configure a wifi to be that bad and we were all IT people.4. The website says "we speak your language". The only language they understood was Spanish. Of course we did not expect German but at least English. Two stars because of the Schnitzel, Käsespätzle and Paulaner beer (which was also really expensive).
Great place, all the facilities you could need. Bar, laundry, restaurant and events on in the evening. Excellent location and staff were amazing! There was an electro party the night I stayed, great fun and a good mix of people from around the world! Maybe a bit mousy for some people. Really nice breakfast too, you can pay extra for eggs if you wish. Shame the WiFi didnt extend to the outdoor area/the private room I stayed in but the room its self was great! They have a tour operator joined to the building also. Highly recommended.
I went here a few months ago. Just got back to Australia from my big trip. This place will always have some great memories to me. Met some amazing people and had some seriously good times. Staff was friendly and helped me out with everything I needed to know. Could speak higher ❤️
Best hostel on my trip till now - been traveling for 4 months. Excellent food, clean big dorms, and very helpful people! This place is more than value for money - pricing is unbelievably reasonable! Absolutely loved this place. Would highly recommend. Definitely made my stay in Sucre enjoyable!!
Awesome hostel with so many spaces to hang out and is clean. Upstairs showers have great pressure and are hot. Breakfast is amazing with heaps of options. Ordered hot chips from the restaurant, they were expensive and undercooked and took aaages to come out. Other than that, theres nothing to complain about the hostel. Id highly recommend it.
Large and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Cool hostel manager! Some negative points are that smoking is allowed inside the common areas and that the street and party noise is quite audible in the rooms.
People smoke inside in a closed area, which is really bad for everybody his lungs. The Friday culture performance is really recommendable. As a dancer I can say it are good dancers. Good to see the different culture dances. Be there before 21.00 otherwise you need to pay and there are still seats available. Happy hour is from 21.30 till 22.30. For 29 Bolivians you get 2 alcohol drinks.
Fabulous front desk staff. Helped everyone around the clock, went above and beyond to make sure everyone looking to get out of Sucre during the blockages was accomodated. Were staying at a different hostel in the city but decided to come to stay for the night here when we heard how helpful the reception staff were. 100% would recommend Kultur Berlin if only for the helpful staff who were awesome at accomodating.
Its hip and happening. There was a dining area full of people all through the night, a garden area youre not allowed in but my friends were staying in the hostel and I got to play beer pong anyway, a bar with barstools and everything, and a hostel lobby with a humorous worker and a bunch of backpackers sitting around with their packs.
What a fun place! We didn’t stay there, but the restaurant is really lovely and lively! We enjoyed the traditional Bolivian dance show—one of the most fun things we did in our three weeks in Bolivia! What a cool and unique experience. Also, the food is top notch—really tasty. The service is also very fast!
Nice place!! Its clean, a really good breakfast with a lot of things. The beds are okey, with personal light. There is a bar a little expensive but with a lot of people.
Little more expensive than some other hostels in Sucre. But the place is gorgeous! Amazing garden, clean rooms, good hot water shower. And the breakfast is a never ending buffet. Plus they offer a good set lunch menu.
Hostel is great value for money, awesome beds! The restaurant not so much. Nobody gave us any attention (there were only two tables). We had to get ourselves the menu and then walk around looking for the waiter to make an order. My spätzle were cold, the steak poorly thin and dry, my friends fries werent cooked through.
The hostel is really nice. Well located and always with a lot of people. Can get really noisy, they have parties here and the bedrooms are close to the party.
The hostel looked good, the bed was comfortable but still I did not like it. I know it was a party hostel, which is fine, but it was very noisy and all the dorms ended directly in the bar. The thing I disliked the most about this hostel was the rude employees. Especially the English guy behind the counter. When asked any question he would answer sarcasticly or for example when you asked how much the laundry service costs he would say go and ask there yourself while he must know the answer to such a simple question.
An awesome hostel for only 55 Bs in the dorm rooms. The restaurant is really good maybe not the cheapest option but still delicious and there are many parties and festivals held here. There was even parking for motorcycles in the reception!
Great party hostel on the weekends, quiet social vibe with daily theme nights during the week. Large complex around two courtyards and a garden. Excellent location, would stay again.
Nice hostel, the dorm rooms are spacious and nice. Good showers. Unfortunately WiFi is patchy and only works in reception. Otherwise great. Breakfast is amazing.
Big hostel, German owned, so it is clean. Has parties going on in the weekend, a bit quieter on weekdays. Nice hostel to stay if youre in Sucre for just a few days. For longer time Id choose another hostel.
Nice Party Hostel with big dorms which are kept quite clean by the very friendly staff. The beds are larger than the standard short bed in Bolivia. Even tall Europeans fit in. But some mattress are worn out and too soft. The (includedbreakfast is great. There is a buffet with a large variety of fresh fruits, several kinds of breads, salted and unsalted butter, marmalade, fresh juices and coffee or tea.One negative thing: the WiFi sucks completely despite there are two nets available. The Internet connection speed feels very retro, like with a modem in the 90.
Large hostel, great party atmosphere on weekends, recommend getting room at back much quieter. Friendly and helpful staff (owner went above and beyond helping us with police matter). Comfy beds and amazing breakfast.
