Kuleni Game Park - Nature reserve in Ulundi, South Africa
Keeping animals for entertainment and profit and then putting them down very quickly when they behave the way an animal should.Where was Kuleni Game Park when the incident happened??Sympathies to the grieving family.
I will never visit your "Game Park". You kill an animal for protecting its young because a human you invited into their territory had to walk around wildlife. If you do not have warning signs up, you should definitely do so to PROTECT wildlife as Game Parks are meant to do. Totally disgusted by you and your actions.
You have taken the life of a majestic animal AND orphaned her helpless calf because of your own incompetence. Never forget that. Giraffes are gentle creatures and the mother acted on natural instincts to protect her baby - just the same as any human mother would. She did not deserve to die. I can only hope that her poor calf and all the animals in your "nature reserve" are relocated to a place where they will be truly safe.
Honestly beyond disgusted by you guys. Animals arent for entertainment and now something horrible has happened. Putting an animal down for acting on its natural instinct is horribly wrong. I feel truly sorry for what happened to the family. But this is not the way to go
For starters, There are NO contact details on the website or on the grossly outdated Facebook page for the reserve, other than that of their highly acclaimed collection of lodges.Next, there are countless spelling errors on the website, seems legit right?Even more concerning, the "emergency contact" (more like the ONLY contactI could find across the entire site didnt answer my call! (sorry to all those who have no other choice than to rely on this "emergency" contact.)According to my knowledge, most reserves, regardless of game type require a guide or a ranger or two to accompany ANY ACTIVITIES on the reserve for OBVIOUS safety reasons! All the while trying to find more info before booking a stay there, I came across a VERY disturbing article published days ago, where the park euthanized an innocent mother giraffe for protecting her baby from CARELESS guests who obviously wandered too close to the animal and her baby, ignoring any distress signals that may have been displayed by the mother... Giraffes (in my experienceare not aggressive in nature and are often spooked long before one is able to get remotely close enough to cause such an "attack"...My MAIN question here is - if the animal was euthanized on site, HOW did a staff member allow such an incident to occur in the first place and how is the park going to deal with the now orphaned calf? How could Kuleni Game Park let something like this happen? Negligence? Lack of policy? Lack of staff training? lack of appropriate guest monitoring?Wow, do people really need to be educated about wild animal etiquette? I HIGHLY doubt that the mother giraffe deserved to be senselessly killed and her calf orphaned.Needless to say, I will definitely NOT be booking into ANY of the lodges at this reserve if the park condones such reckless behavior putting both guests and animals at risk.
Euthanizing a giraffe because YOU couldnt be responsible in the way you work with wildlife?? Because you use these animals purely to make money and clearly have no idea what youre doing?? Disgusting. You shouldnt be allowed to operate for one more day. I hope you are shut down and your remaining animals taken to safety. They are in PERIL being in your "care" right now.
This places uses animals to make money and then kill them when they try to protect their offspring from humans. Disgusting place, no care for the animals only greed
One of the best place to be…
Awesome stay
Great for nature lovers
Wonderful peaceful and a place to unwind
We stayed at the luxury Indulamithi Bush Lodge inside the game reserve. The accommodation was excellent. Loved the outdoor shower. Bed was super comfy. Everything we needed for a self-catering stay. Service was excellent. We did see quite a few animals on the various walking trails, didnt manage to get any decent wildlife photos, they moved too fast!
On the 19th of November I stayed at kuleni game park.. the lodge I stayed at was called red admiral and it was sunset lodge.. it was amazing my hubby and I really had a great time there as it was our 1st time visiting kuleni.. the room was amazing the staff as well was very helpful and always made sure our room was neat and tidy at all times.. sunset lodge (red admiralwas amazing we had our own braai and fire place outside we had an outside shower which just amazing .
A great place to be if you want peace/tranquility and want to getaway from the buzzing of the city.Outside Shower was interesting to experience
Beyond spectacular! We stayed at the Bush House. We were short of nothing. The surroundings and night sounds and stars made us screech with delight! Close to Hluhluwe, however so much in the back yard, one doesnt need to venture beyond the reserve to see amazing sights. Buck, birds and water holes attracts many thirsty creatures. Loved every moment if our stay.
We had wonderful experience, we stayed for two nights, place is beautiful, room is clean, you dnt have to book game drive because you can spot animals while sitting in your cabin
Beautiful place to come and relax.
Splendid walking trails through sand forest. Nature unspoiled. Very friendly staff. Stayed at Holy Blue Lodge - highly recommend

Great place
Stayed at Sunset Loge in the Holy Blue unit just to find out that you have to make your coffee and your toast in your bedroom. Building contractor forgot to add a plugpoint so therefore if anyone decides to go to Sunset Loge please avoid that unit but overall everrything was perfect.

We saw more game than in the Kruger.
I booked the accommodation at Leopard Lodge for a getaway, Wow, and Wow again we stayed there from the 9-12 January 2019 Gert van Niekerk and Myself Janita Muter it was mindblowingly beautiful fantastic, our accommodation was superb, the Animals were around us all the time an absolutely amazing little holiday. Will book defnitely for sure at this place again. Our accommodation was a dream come true . We even had housekeeping thanks Fikile for looking after us. Many Thanks to Kuleni Game park .

Great surroundings
We had the honour of staying within the park at indlulamithi bush lodge and I was blown away at the absolute luxury nestled deep in the bush. This really is the best 5star rated self catering accommodation you can find. The beautiful surrounding and the facilities available, your family will be short of nothing. The main house has a fully functioning kitchen and large enough to make entire meals.there is plenty of space to run around for the kids and a swimming pool to cool down in aswell. We were fortunate enough to accommodate all 12 of our family members in all the rooms and chalets available. It was so nice to have the entire family together and enjoy the sunset and fire pit.We enjoyed the night sky and were amazed at all of the stars we could see which is not easy coming from the city.
Best Rest ever..... Best company ever.
Amazing natural African lodge set harmoniously in the bush
