Ulitsa Sheynkmana, Kazan, Respublika Tatarstan, Russia, 420014, Asino
Ornately-decorated modern mosque on Kremlin site with iconic blue 55-metre minarets & dome.
Absolutely the most beautiful Masjid in Kazan.
Stands out from the rest of the Kremlins architectur, thats for sure.
Being a non Islamic person I cant say that much about the place in general, but the building (part of this UNESCO protected site), built just in 2005 is quite stunning.
A must if you visit the Kazan. Elegant and beautiful building. The place is a bit crowded and touristy. The lighting at night is stunning also. Worth the visit both inside and outside.
The Kul Sharif Mosque located in Kazan Kremlin, Russia.
It was a very soulful experience. The Mosque was very beautiful and huge. Its on walking distance from the Kazan center square.
Simply fall in love with the scenery
Best Mosque I have ever seen. Amazing architecture. Just loved each moment I spent there....
Beautiful Mosque, one of the best Ive seen in Russia. The atmosphere inside the mosque is amazing, it is very calming and relaxing. The mosque is beautiful and looks amazing both during the day and night. Must visit if youre in Kazan. The praying are is open to Muslims if youd like to pray. Beautiful Mosque!
Beautiful, historical, have lots of heritage. Nice place to visit
Absolutely mind blowing. Loved the architecture.
I performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer in this mosque, the atmosphere was very beautiful, a lot of Muslims gathered from all the papers, really it is a wonderful place
Definitely a must if you visit the city. Elegant and beautiful architecture with the unique blue color. The place is a bit crowded and touristy. The lighting at night is very nice also. Worth the visit.
It is a clean mosque/museum hybrid. Its decent if the purpose of visit is to get culturally acquainted with tatarstan, however, better alternatives are present if the aim is to engage in prayer.
Beautiful place, it feels sacred but its overfilled with tourists from all over tatarstan. At the entry they give you a scarf for you to put it over your hair, please be respectful and cover it. The place feels majestic and sacred despite de people so I recommend the visit.
I would recommend to see it. It is much nicer from outside vs inside. But if you are in Kazan, you must see it, especially as it is located in the centre if Kremlin.
What an absolute amazing experience visiting the Kul Sharif Mosque. I was personally guided through the mosque by manager who pointed out all the details from top to bottom. Anyone who visits will be able to take away a very memorable experience as well. Little side note, if you pick up the audio guide and listen youll get to hear my voice guide you through. It was my contribution to this truly magnificent structure.
Amazing! Must see and visit. There are many foreign guests are visiting our office, and this is one of the first places we take them to show Kazan.
Beautiful building, symbol of Kazan. You can see it from very far and you cannot miss it. You can enter it for free, you just need to cover your shoulders and knees and women also need to cover their head. Dont forget to go up on the interior balcony to see the ceiling and the chamber for prayers
Very nice and unique mosque on the hill
The Kul Sharif Mosque is one of the most interesting sights of the Kremlin. This is a very interesting tourist and religious site both outside and inside.Entrance to the mosque, of course, is free, but you should be dressed appropriately. Men and women of any faith can visit the special guest balcony inside the mosque, located above the main hall. The museum of Islamic culture is located on the ground floor. You need to buy a ticket to visit the museum.I would like to share the history of this building and its name.In October 1552, the Russian army of Ivan IV captured the capital of the Kazan Khanate (modern Tatarstan). At that moment, Seid Kul Sharif was one of the leaders who failary defended Kazan Khanate from that invasion. During the attack, all of defenders and Kul Sharif himself were killed in battle. As the result of the battle a big fire spread thought all the city and the main mosque also burned down and was destroyed. In 1995 the President of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaymiev signed an order to recreate the mosque. The opening of the mosque took place on June 2005, on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. The new mosque is named after Seid Kul Sharif - the very same defender from Ivan IV.The internal space of the mosque is designed for one and a half thousand people, and also there is a square for another ten thousand prayers in front of the mosque.
It is very beautiful and clean inside the mosque.
Great place for saying your prayers....great place for tourists ....both men and women are allowed on the observation deck inside the mosque....don’t forget to buy few souvenirs from the courtyard in order to help the local economy...also the souvenirs are quite aesthetic so you will cherish them 😉
Great architectural work and awesome design. My trip was great value for me.
Picturesque place. But we cant go inside. Must go to take few pictures
Beautiful mosque - a delightful example of Islamic architecture. The entrance is free, and theres a "tourist balcony" one can go up on to see the large prayer room and ornate ceilings on a higher floor. The atmosphere is enhanced by the priest reading the Quran on the first floor, which adds a layer of mysticism.Women and guys with shorts were required to cover up though, with provided shawls and skirts (the later of which usually were given to the men).
Beautiful Mosque, great Viewpoint!
beautiful design. free entrance to the mosque. for woman you have to cover your head. they provide it if you dont have. there is a museum inside. if you wanna go inside you have to pay 200 rubel
MasyaAllah.. this is a beautifull Mosque
If you only have time for one site to see, its the Kremlin and Kul Sharif. Absolutely beautiful. Got wedding pictures there, came back to visit 8 years later and it was just as breath taking.
The new pearl of the architectural ensemble of the Kazan Kremlin and the undoubtedly majestic dominant. A shining diamond in the form of the creation of human hands, dedicated to the Almighty.
For each masjid is a place to calm your heart and soul in a world of problems and concerns. It can accommodate 6,000 worshipers. Its inauguration on July 24, 2005, marked the beginning of celebrations dedicated to the Millennium of Kazan.
Mesmerizing place of worship with a gorgeous informative Islamic Museum. If you go to #Kazan , DO VISIT this place!!
The mosque is situated inside the Kazan Kremlin, in the center of the city. One of the most picturesque places in the Kazan city. Full of historical value. Can visit inside. The architecture and the interior design is very unique and beautiful. Is one of the largest mosques in Europe. Not a big rush to get in. Always the territory is free to walk and take pictures. Day and night no difference, the place is very beautiful. Just next to the mosque there is the seven storied building of soyembika.
It is one of the largest mosques in the world and is a magnificent structure. Kul Sharif is a symbol of the secular attitude of Russians and how people of different faiths live in harmony. People of all faiths are allowed to enter the mosque as long as they are modestly dressed. Women need to cover their head to enter. Entrance is free. You can climb up the top floor to get a great view of the structure.
Not just in the summer but also in winter a great place to visit. The balcony is open for tourists also the museum in the basement which cost 250 Rubel.
An amazing spiritual mosque and museum , surrounded by a mixed cultures monumentoms
A thing of beauty, the iconic Kul Sharif Mosque stands towering over the city in Kazan Kremlin. No matter where you are, the mosque looks breathtaking, with its mesmerizing blue reflected in the sunlight.Due to our lack of planning we were unable to enter the mosque but I would recommend going in.
The most beautiful mosque in Russia in the best of Muslim Republic ❤️
I love this Mosque. It is an architectural masterpiece. The interior artistry on the walls is breathtaking. oh and they call it the Kul Sharif Mosque because whem you go inside and make it upstairs you will be under the air conditioning. which is very "Kul" indeed!
A truly majestic and breathtaking architecture and incomparable beauty!
Great place. Big plus its for free the entry because there is nothing special inside. From outside however looks pretty cool. If you want to avoid the que try going in morning times
Amazing mosque stands on top of the hill overlooking kazan. The mosque can be seen from the majority of the city. Blue and white contrasts looks great in day and night time.Truly great to see anytime. With the right clothing you can go in and check out the inside
MosqueA must see inside the kremlin, or for a photo op. The 1st building to see is the Jewish mosque in Kazan showing the diversity of religions. The mosque is colourful and shaped like 2 parts. There is a line of shops outside, selling small souvenirs.Inside be warned that the stairs up to the viewing deck is really tight and hard to have one person go up and another coming down.
One of the place in Kazan...that is good one...for visit..
Beautiful mosque in scenic Kazan. Ladies need to wear covered dress. As moslems, tou can pray here inside the beautiful mosque.
It’s a beautiful place.
Kul Sharif Mosque is the most beautiful mosque in the world. What a beautyful design.
People in Kazan (and republic of Tatarstanis almost evenly split between Orthodox Christian and Muslim. So in the city of Kazan there are, in the Kremlin, both the Annunciation Cathedral and very modern mosque built where the Qolşärif mosque, destroyed in 1562 by Ivan the Terrible, stood.Building started in 1996 ad it was inaugurated in 2005 during celebrations for the 1000 years of Kazan.Mosque is really impressive with its tall minarets and white walls. Even though it has a style remembering the past (and, forgive me, a 1001 nights ‘scent’it is entirely modern. Really worth a visit.
Beautiful landmark within Kazan Kremlin, modern yet classical interior. The mosque is welcoming not only muslims, but tourists in general.
