Ku Kitchen & Bar in Amsterdam

I went yesterday (mondaywith my wife and little daughter. It was a nice evening, good selection of sushi, well presented dishes and lovely wines. They also have a nice cocktails selection. Modern and smart ambient, pretty full!! I will come back.

Really good, but also a bit expensive. The tenderloin was great, the Summer Thyme cocktail was a bit bland. Overall a memorable experience. Ill come back.

AMAZING! We loved the sushi, the quality is amazing. At the end we took the sake train. A tasting of 4 sake’s. It was amazing and the service was great. Employees are really kind, the cook is interested in all the customers and the vibe is very cozy. Recommend!

The BEST japan food, the FRIENDLIEST Crew, the NICEST owner!! We had the a surprise menu with Edamame, sashimi (delicious, freshand a mixed grill with special Sushi - just t a s t y ! The wagyu-meat - incomparable!! Hiro, all the best for you and your restaurant! 👍🏻👍🏻

We didnt have a reservation so we were there on a good luck style. Fortunately they gave us the place on the bar, which was the best place ever. We got a bunch of delicious japanese food, cant tell what was the best but I remember the wagyu burgers, they were realy juicy!We also had nice talks with Hiro who gives us a sake tasting :)

Best sushi I had in years! Soo fresh, so tasty! The employees are very friendly and are checking on you often! We had various kinds of sushi and cocktails. The food on the other tables looked so tempting but we couldn’t eat more! Unfortunately we will leave Amsterdam tomorrow! I would visit this restaurant at least twice a week … maybe more!

The food and cocktails here are amazing and the staff lovely. Everything made fresh so expect a little wait but so worth it. Didn’t enjoy the ice cream dessert that much would it was presented beautifully and good to try something different.

Super fancy Japanese cuisine.The restaurants ambient is a bit dark maybe they wanted to reflect a romantic mood, but the music a bit doesn’t match.Food is super delicious, elegantly presented and has new flavors. Limited menu (yet they have muchand you could go for any plate depending on your preferences.Staff are super friendly and helpful.{ recommended }

Everything we ate was delicious, though the waguy sliders and sushi were our favorites - blown away. Surprise from chef, grilled avocado, was also amazing, as were the cocktails. Atmosphere was relaxed and service friendly - a fantastic choice for a night out with friends who appreciate great food.

The food was amazing! The taste was absolutely fabulous and possibly the best sushi I ever had, the presentation of the food was also awesome. Our party of 3 had an amazing time here with food this great. The sake was also good. The noise was a little bit loud, but we could still have a conversation.

I had seafood bento and miso marinated beef and they were just amazing. The dishes are not “cheap” but definitely worth it. The staff members are very kind and helpful, a perfect experience overall.

Friendly service and smiling staff, however as a consummate sushi eater I was disappointed with the quality of the sashimi (the hamachi had some hard parts left onand the oyster was shucked by cracking the shell, so had bits of shell. Price was OK but some of the other reviews exaggerate the food quality which I feel is inaccurate.

Best sushi I ate in Amsterdam. It’s a bit pricey, but the food is VERY good. We were seated in the back and ordered the sake train. The waitress served them without telling things about the differences, but then the owner of the place came and took us to the bar. He gave us a complete presentation about the differences in the production process, taste, history, everything. He ultimately let us tastes around 6 different sakes, while the original sake train consisted of only 3 or 4 and he didn’t charge us anything extra. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had.

Very impressive meals and drinks. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and explained the ingredients of the dishes in a very detailed manner. You have to try the Tempura Maki - they were the best we’ve ever had!

Great Japanese food, and lovely vibes. I would recommend the sushi rolls as they are the best and the most worth the money out of everything on the menu. The buyer sliders are also great 👌, as well as their green teas, would recommend the roasted green tea 🍵.Well priced and fresh fish, rolls are about 10€Ate here for two for 60€ (we ordered a lot and 2 drinks)

Dangerously awesome! One of the best and funkiest sushi of Amsterdam. The selection of choices is big and different than whats usually offered in a sushi restaurant. All the ingredients are extremely fresh, the sushi rolls are of incredible texture mixing different flavours. The staff was also friendly, fast and helpful in the choice. Finally the prices are very fair compared to the Amsterdam scene. The only downside was that inside the restaurant was very warm...but all in all 100% recommended and we will come back!Update after more than 1.5 years: even better than I remembered! And they improved their ventilation system - hence 5🌟

Pure taste, Quality of ingredients, Fresh, Good selection in the menu, Add great service and attitude!! Impressive sushi proving they can do traditional (simple but deliciously balanced salmon nigiris and makisand innovative (crab Hotel California).Excellent gyozas, all paired with a majesticand chili pepper G&T.Superb, attentive service from the minute we got in.A must!

Great, contemporary Japanese food, friendly, fast and attentive service. Only minus is perhaps the slightly overpriced dishes considering the small portion sizes. But the taste was so good I can’t even take off a star 😜. Enjoy guys XXX

Best Japanese restaurant I have found in Amsterdam so far! Outstanding dishes - tempura, flamed salmon, miso ice-cream. Reasonable prices. Will definitely revisit! Would also like to mention that the waitress was really friendly (patiently explaining each dish on the specials and menu)!

Very nice sushi and nice staff. We went here for a date night and were happily surprised by this place. To start with the sushi is very good. We tried the chef’s special .. those were really really nice.The other dishes are good too. So good that they sold out on some of the dishes we wanted. The venue is small and intimate which is nice.

It must be one of the best Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam. Sushi, gyozas, yakitori, sticks with pork, shrimps... absolutely everything is delicious.The service is very attentive and even explains what is on the dishes they serve. The restaurant itself is cozy, decorated with good taste. All in all, quit reading and go there now!

Great place for sushi, all fresh made and amazing service. Would have given 5 stars if some of the sushi had a bit less focus on the sauces. But still a great place to go to for some fusion Japanese food.

Very nice modern sushi house concept. You can find both sushi and warm options Very nice and fashionable interior design, perfect for smaller groups. The dishes are very creative and theres also the chefs daily special. Excellent service and friendly personnel. They also have a good selection of fusion cocktails, its a must try!

Great taste with reasonable price. I am nit a big fub of sushi, but theirs are exceptional good. their unami salmon is the best salmon I ever tasted so far.

Love this contemporary Japanese feel, really good sushi, some of the best I have had in AMS. Cool contemporary setting with some very nice interesting surprises on the menu, love the grilled Adcocado.

Had a positively amazing meal here. The staff were super friendly. We were pretty late, but we called ahead and they fixed us up with a table nonetheless, even though the place was jam packed with people. Nice selection of beers (some Chinese and Japanese ones), whiskys, and other drinks.Then the food: first of all, this is not an all-inclusive gig. The menu is limited, but in a very good way. They dont have a 150 dishes, but this allows the chefs to create the dishes they do serve with extra care. And you can really taste it: the quality of the food we received was just superb. I fully recommend the Sushi For Two, although we did have some starters and finishers to fill us up properly. The quality just cannot be compared to the well known all-inclusive sushi chains.Pricewise, Ku Kitchen & Bar is as we expected: you pay a bit more than on average. It aint steep, but it aint cheap either. Personally, I found the price fair considering the location, the service, and the outstanding food.TLDR: I wholeheartedly recommend Ku Kitchen & Bar to anyone whos looking for great sushi 🍣
