South Africa, Inhambane
South Africa's first National Park containing significant numbers of all of the big 5 game species.
This was the most wonderful trip of my life :)If you’re doubting of whether to go or not, go.You won’t regret it.
Wow, what a great experience!Saw all big 5 on one trip through the park. Took so many pictures of so many beautiful wildlife and views, will share some. The rangers are amazingly friendly and helpful. Kruger National Park is just a true South African experience!
We have been visiting the KNP for as long as I can remember. Since Nov 2021, we have visited 3x. As far as the booking experience is concerned, the people are 100% competent and a pleasure to deal with.As far as the sight seeing is concerned, it remains an absolute blessing from above. However, the accommodation - to put it bluntly - is an enormous disaster. During our first of 2 nights at Crocodile Bridge Camp, the toilet did not work (no flushing mechanism), the shower was cold and the braai tongs was broken!! It was reported early the next meeting to the Camp Manager and on our return to the camp at approximately 13:45, NOTHING was fixed and the Camp Manager already knocked-off"!!!Our next 2 evenings were at Berg-en-Dal, one of our favourite camps. What a circus was found - see the photos attached hereto. The shower has definitely not been properly cleaned for weeks - if one touched the door on the inside, ones hands were dirty and ants were all over the tap - the tap at the basin was totally loose, the braai was held upright with a stick and the thatched roof looked terrible. The dirty shower was also reported to the Duty Manager, unfortunately limited improvement was experienced. On the follow-up, disciplinary action was promised, but obviously we shall not be aware whether this was taken.Based on this experience, it is very clear that maintenance is not part of the critical performance areas of employees, together with the fact that the Management is totally absent. Please, please, please get things together very soon to enable visitors to look forward to yet another pleasant experience as far as all aspects are concerned.
Wow! what an experience. Please go with and open heart and mind and nature will take care of the rest. She will surprise you. Just be patient.
Its a big name but you hardly see big five over there. Manged to see Elephant, Cape bafflow and Hippo rest were plain game animals
A great experience of the wildlife, great picnic sites to enjoy your meals in mother natures atmosphere, a super recommendable place for family road trips & any trip in general; either for site seeing, wildlife adventures or picnic... Either way youll enjoy the experience. .
Gosh, I love KNP. A true wildlife, wild animals in their natural habitat experience. And so many biospheres. And birding is sensational. You need at least a week in the park and even then you have barely scratched the surface.
If you are a local, youll keep coming back. If not, youll definitely want to. The Sanparks do a great job with accommodations and the thrill of being able to spot a magnificent being in the wild is unending.
Our first safari in family. We met nice people and chat at Nkhulu picnic. We drive all day from 6am to 5pm. We met more than 14 especies of wild animals. But no 🦁, :-( no chance: elephants, leopards, monkeys, impalas, zebras, tortoises, hippos, crocodiles, phacochères, rapaces, little calao... We were exhausted at the end but so happy.
A great experienceYou need to start the day off early in order to make the most of the park and to be able to travel a good distance on the day.Unfortunately on the day of visiting we saw a lot of the same animals. Nevertheless a great experience whilst in SA.I would recommend to do the safari. We had a tour guide who was very knowledgeable
Managed to see 4/5 in just 2 days. Would recommend at least 4 to 5 days to see more of the park since it is so massive!
The Kruger National Park is a beautiful wild life park where you can go on a guided safari. Its the "easy accessible" and probably most famous park for doing safari tours. At the same time this makes it quite touristic and you even have paved roads.Still you havent seen South Africa if you havent been to Kruger! Personally I liked the Etosha National Park (Namibiaand the Moremi Wild Reserve in the Okavango Delta (Botsuanaa bit better, which I have visited chronologically afterwards, as they feel more "safari-like". Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience in the Kruger Park.
Stunning experience you can’t miss!Exploring the bush in “self drive “ formula is the best, for take your own moments with wildlife
The gps might be a little confused as you get closer, the drive might also make you feel like youre lost, however its a straight forward route, the staff is very friendly and helpful.A nice place to relax for a weekend with your family, enjoy nice peaceful views whilst looking at nature and various animals.
Great seeing rhino, lion, elephant, leopard all in one drive. Stay at pretoriuskop was super in the round hutsExcellent also tsokwane and ndlukhu
One of great places to visit if youre familiar with nature 😊
Best place on Earth. 2 million hectares of unrivalled diversity. Where the self drive is king.
I love nature and KNP ticks all the boxes for me. Diversity of habitat, From Big 5 game viewing to little mammals like the dwarf mongoose. Excellent variety of birds, never disappoints the most avid birder. The bungalows and rondawels are simple structures with braai areas at every spot. Daily servicing makes life easier!Picnic spots are usually sited under big trees with toilets. Skottels can be hired for R30 at some picnic spots. Take along your picnic and beverages and enjoy a break from driving.
Great time and nice view including the restaurants inside. Enjoyed my breakfast as well
We had the best week at Kruger! Saw the big 5 plus loads of other animals. Scenery is beautiful and rest stops offer everything you need. A must-see place.
Always amazing and a privilege to visit this beautiful park. If you are doing self drive the “Kruger Routes self drive companion” is a must. Available at shops in the park.
We were last here before Mugg & Bean opened in the Park. This was very refreshing from the poor food options previously available in the park, especially when you couldn’t bring your own. The roads are good and we saw 3 of the big 5 and lots of springboks. We had a herd of elephants block us off on road before closing time which gave some excitement and sense of adventure.
The best place in the whole world. If you love the wilderness then there is no better place for you.Well maintained park with good roads and an amazing sighting waiting for you around the corner. The abundance of game and birdlife will not leave you disappointed. It is just not about the big 5 but the whole experience which is indescribable. Everyone should experience this once during their lifetime.Great network of relatively well maintained rest camps inside the park is convenient and adds to the experience. There is something magical about staying in the lap of nature.Have been there 3 times in the span of 14 months and cannot wait to be in the park again.
The most magical place in the country. Side note: Tshokwane is a fantastic picnic spot with superb food. The only negative in the kruger experience are the now very dated chalet huts (Lower Sabiethey really need revival. Even if its just some new linen, towels & fresh coat of paint.
This is my happy place. Love love love the park. Lots of picnic spots. Birding is wonderful not to mention the animals that you are able to see. I usually go as a day visitor and stay in a lodge that is close to the park. There are lots of lodges and guest houses to pick and choose from in close proximity to the entrance gates. My preferred gate is Crocodile bridge. Dont forget to stop at a picnic spot or shops inside the park, not to mention the great bird hides that you can just relax and wait for the animals to come to you. When at some of the wonderful shops inside the park ..... grab a cup of coffee, if you forgot to bring your binoculars or bird and animals books dont worry the shops are well stocked with something for everybody. I highly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the gate open and close times and getting a map of the park to navigate your way through the park. All the roads are great no need for a 4x4 to drive around and enjoy the park.
Park is always awesome. It seems some visitors however, do not understand they in the bush. Nature and animals come first. Relax, slow down and at great sightings give everyone a fair chance to see those special animals
Visited the park in March 2022. Life changing trip. Kruger is one of the most magical places on earth. An absolute must if you visit South Africa
Recently travelled thru the whole of Kruger from the Northern tip at Pafuri all the way down to Crocodile bridge. visited 8 camps in total. Amazing experience n lots of fun. If U need info on Kruger contact me .il be glad to assist
As always, its a wonderful experience. Being so close to nature and all the wild animals is such a privilege.
Allways a pleasure to spend time in the park. Had several great sightings and Tamboti tented camp was a real in-the-bush experience that I can recommend.
Our guides with Exoticca Tours were outstanding. They went above and beyond and we saw the big five and many many more animals in the wild. It is a bucket list visit
Honestly, one of the most incredible things you’ll ever see. Experience wildlife up close and personal. Stay for at least 2 full days. 5 days are most ideal. Don’t forget to take malaria pills.
It was a lifetime experience with friendly and helpful people. I would love to give the 5th star, but deep cleaning is needed in all the corners of the restaurant and bathrooms.
Love Lower Sabie and Satara, the picnic spots are great and always clean. Remember this is not a zoo and the animals are wild, stay in your car. The small animals are as relevant and beautiful as the big animals.
One of the best picnic shops to visit, the staff is friendly and they sell beautiful bush clothes.Highly recommend it
A must-see place for anyone who enjoys seeing animals in the wild. Honestly the most exhilarating place with a tranquil atmosphere. For people visiting for the first time, I recommend booking yourself a game drive because you will atleast see all the big 5, then you can do a self-drive when youve had the best experience.
Hands down still the best, place in South Africa in my opinion regarding a holiday destination and also regarding if you want experience big game viewing while not spending the exhorbetent prices associated with the many private reserves... Though I would still always recommend do your research and look where to stay and the best ways to approach your visit to get the most out of!
The most wonderful place in the world. So peaceful and you really feel so close to nature. Definitely worth a trip. The skukuza safari lodge is amazing
Its absolutely amazing. The night drive is wonderful. You will see lots of elephant, giraffe, impala, hippos and birds. Youll likely see lion. With luck youll find leopard and cheetah. There is a lot of driving thats worth it when you see the beautiful views and animals.
The Kruger National is basically a big lucky packet, you might be able to see more than we did, but we unfortunately didnt see any big cats or wild dogs. We only saw elephants and a whole lot of impala. It was a good experience though.
Facilities in some areas a bit dated (ablution blocks), but otherwise all the new additions, restaurants, wildlife, services and staff were very friendly and accommodating! It has been my dream to go since I was much younger and finally made it there! Can’t wait to return! Maybe I will still become a game ranger one day - my childhood dream!
Allways a pleasure being at the Kruger. We stayed at Skukuza and was not very satisfied with our rondawel. The aircon is screaming the doorlock is difficult to lock and open, the door and the sifted door need attention. Our braai area was overgrown and we had to ask them to come and remomove branches so that we can braai. They did.. thanks for that. Surely a lack of maintenance. Very clean however and our beds was the best after a long drive in the day. Rondawel was cleaned every day.. that was a good sight when we returned. Semi warm swimming pool outside very relaxing. Eating at the restaurant outside.. next to the river... amazing. Expansive though. Animal and bird sightings always a pleasure. We missed out on not seeing the Rino.. but our leopard experiences made up for it. Gods creation.... amazing
I really love the time here in Kruger. After my one day-long experience I came again after two days. All of the animals are just amazing and you can see them from a totally new perspective. Even as a self-driving trip is an excellent experience cuz there is plenty of time for observing the nature 😍
Lovely... We could see thousands of animals in freedom... Incredible experience... I want to come back soon!
My happy place ! Truly a lovely park that it’s so easy to spend hours and hours driving around looking at all these beautiful animals roaming around. So lucky to spot the big five all of them as well as all the other animals possible. Summer is a lovely time to go very hot though in the park but you see everything almost every time .staying inside the park is also a bonus if possible. Definite must if your visiting South Africa for the first time !!
The Kruger is breath taking. Been here 4 times now and each time was a completely different experience. Its our favourite holiday getaway
This was an amazing experience to be so close to wildlife in their natural habitat. It is a must-see when you are in this part of the world. The park is very well maintained and animal-centric, as I hoped it would be.
If you love wildlife, this park is a must. It boasts the big five and never disappoints. If possible stay at one of the rest camps in the park as it will allow you some extra time in the park. The roads are well maintained and the game plentiful. Keep to the suggested speed limit as antelope do cross the road unexpectedly and without warning. I would also suggest you keep a safe distance from the elephants as they can be very protective of their young.
We had a phenomenal time on the several game drives we did at Kruger. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and did a great job of spotting the animals and getting us close enough for a good view.We spotted elephant, giraffe, lions, water buffaloes, hyenas, a cheetah, gazelle, zebra and dozens of other animals and birds.
One of the best experiences of my life. All the animals are there and are skittish considering there are wild. Will definitely come back again. Im even planning to make it a yearly occasion.
