Jalan Merbah 10/1, Seksyen 10 Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, Petaling Jaya
Lowland forest area on 800 acres, community-managed to conserve the urban-adjacent natural space.
Stunning view, fresh air with various of floral & fauna surely what you need after a hectic week at your office. Looking no more for Forest in the mid of city.
Hiking at Kota Damansara is recommended for beginners. The popular trail here is hiking towards Denai Puteri Peak.Estimated time for a complete loop is less than 2 hours (up and down). It is a must to purchase the hiking permit at the entrance before any hike & also to register yourself.Parking is quite scarce, so make sure to go early. All in all, definitely worth a visit !
This beautiful park located within a serenity environment and cannot forest making it enjoyable for any exercise activities even during a hot day.
There are two ways down to the dam. Either way is steep. Just be a little careful. The scenery at the dam is definitely peaceful. Sounds of birds and primates surrounding the lake. After that it is another steep climb back. Good thing there are some ropes to help.
This low impact trail on this Kota Damansara Community Forest Reserve is perfect for family to experience outdoors lifestyle. There are a few trails and a Temuan botanical area that will allow you to know more on flora of this beautiful forest. Highly recommend for family outing.
My first hiking experience with my friends, trail was awesome, those who want to visit make sure to bring a friend along🥰
The picture looks amazing. Clean walking trail, green surroundings and peaceful. I hope the public services are nice too.
Good place for training before go hike mountain
went for hiking denai 3 puteri with 2 of my friends.track was ok.. but reaching 500m to the peak, very challenging.300m to the peak, i had to surrender. slope to high.i can climb up but to return back... hahahahahaha.. then decide to stop and return.for sure to come back again to conquer the peak
1.5 hours up. 50 mins down.Few steep slopes at the end of the peak. Easy to moderate difficulty.
For those who like to jog or take a quiet stroll, this is the place you want to go. Recommended to go during the evening. Beware of the monkeys over there.
Entrance fee is RM2 per pax since the beginning of 2022. Went with the longer route through Serenity trail (have a bench along a scenic clear streamto the peak and back from the shorted route which took 3h45m of slow walk. Mostly easy trail but towards the Denai 3 Puteri you will find a steep climb which could be slightly challenging for the beginners, especially after a rainy day, hence wear proper shoes. Do bring some water to keep yourself hydrated. Beware of the thorny palms like rattan, bayas and nibung which were very common along the trails.
Relaxing hike. Please bring along cash for entrance fee (they don’t take E-wallet, 😔)
Easy trail, beginners friendly
My first hiking experience with my friends, trail was awesome, those who want to visit make sure to bring a friend along🥰
They have an operating hours till 3pm. Was told that on the weekend there are around 300 over people that goes hiking there. A RM2 entry is required and a card will be given to you. When you leave, drop the card off at the entry point. The trail was really easy at first. Nice well maintained. It was all easy peasy till we come to the last leg to get to the peak. It gets a little steep. Well, you are climbing a hill. At the peak was the view of the NKVE and Bukit Lanjan on the opposite side. Since we came pretty late, we didnt spend much time exploring the rest of the trail. It is definitely good for all.
This is my favourite spot to take a rest during my cycling trip. The lake is quiet and serene. The sunrise here is beautiful. Occasionally you will be greeted with families of monkeys (young and old), just ignore them and observe them. Do not provoke them. Just one thing, too many litter bugs here. People will just leave their rubbish behind and make this beautiful place a rubbish dump. Hope the authority do something about it.
Its a good hiking place for the beginner.. entrance fee RM2.
Good for beginners who dont like slope. 1.5 hours one way with 1 hour casual walk + 0.5 hour slope (around peak). Total 3 hours hike without counting chilling on top of the peak. Scene are great, a lot people, trail not very clean, can picnic on peak. Need buy ticket. Milo ice from the entrance taste very good. Dont park your car beside the lake.
Nice Park. A group of volunteers take the initiative to pick up the trash left by irresponsible people. Anyone can join the volunteers on Saturdays 5pm to 7pm. Lots of trash along the long stretch of road. Some visitors even blatantly ignored the signs that say not to feed the wildlife. The signs are there for a reason ya. Leave the wildlife alone. This is not a petting zoo.
Multiple trails, beginner friendly. Parking is a challenge. Must come early
At the Temuan trail, you can find a strangler fig and at its base a cauliflower mushroom. This strangler fig begins life as a small plant atop the host tree. It sends down numerous roots that eventually reaches the ground. Once there the roots grew thick and fuse altogether encircling/strangling and finally killing the host tree. At the base a mushroom feeds on the same decaying host tree.
It’s RM2 for entrance fee , it’s not easy for beginner. But it’s a good place for those start ups I climb
Trails are well taken care of and plenty of signs to keep anyone from getting lost. There is an entrance fee now of RM2.00 which to me is very reasonable to help keep the forest reserve maintained as well as the trails.
Really nice, comfortable, eye catching view, alot of hikers no matter what ages theyre. Worth to try !
Interesting trails. We took MRT to Kwasa Sentral and ShareTaxi from there to the Park entrance. Trails and Maps are marked and app maps.me worked perfect. We went to the high point that looks over the valley. Only the last 1 KM was a bit steep, otherwise there are extensive walks on various other trails to explore.
Tried another hiking location at Damansara. The hike is fairly easy, signs are vastly available and route is not difficult. The scenary at peak overseeing NKVE is truly astonishing. There are various route which you can dig thru online, but the route we took was 3h whole trip.
Better go early if you wanna explore different trails.LocationHave to take grab or by car.The nerest MRT station is Damansara or Surin.Entrance fee: $2/personOnce walk into the entrance, the guard will give you the ticket and a pass to return when you finish. Also you have to sign in the time you enter. There is a toilet right next to the entry point. There are some signs on the way, but first timer can go straight and follow the sign, don’t make any turns. This will lead you to the way to the peak. The first junction you will see a sign of Scout Trail, next will be Serenity Trail. The final junction before the last part of the peak, you will come to a point which has a sign pointing to Unity Trail, keep going to the Unity Trail, you should be able to reach the peak.If you are not going to Serenity Trail, you could also see the view outside the park.Be careful to come here after heavy rain, the trail is slippery and muddy. The trails are fully covered by the trees, not much expose to the sun.
Very nice hike by a well maintained community with a nice route. There’s a limit of 300 pax entry with a RM 2 entrance.Route is easy, smooth all the way with little to non elevation till the last 100m towards the peak. Path is shaded along the way so no worries if you decide to hike later after 10am.
Nicely forested cover for hiking or casual walk even on a hot day. The cover provides a refreshing effect on the body. No mosquitoes to disturb you. Provide different trails for different levels. Last 500m to the peak could be punishing to beginners.
1 Hour To Reach Peak If You Walk Nonstop / 1:20 minit to Come Back. Its really Good Experience Of Hiking. Including Rm:2 Entry Fee.
This community forest is such a gem in the area. It has so many trails, each has long and short distance to suit diff individuals fitness. Kudos to the community who kept the place at sch tip top conditions. Thnk you!
Wonderful neighbourhood hike. There’s a few trails that vary in difficulty and length. I’ve done a couple of them and enjoyed them all. What I like the most about this forest is how well it’s kept and how it’s a tiny oasis of nature in the middle of our concrete jungle. In terms of view, the view at the peak/certain points is pretty. However like most hikes in Malaysia, most of the the hike is in the forest itself, surrounded by trees. I always quite liked bugs and plants so I’m quite happy about that.Notes:- Arrive early (as with any hike). If you leave early enough you can find a nice spot at the top and have a picnic. Just make sure you don’t leave any trash or feed any thing you see- Do not park by the lake. Please be considerate and park in designated parking areas even though it’s a walk away.
This place is soo scenic especially during the morning around 8.30 to 9.00. Will be able to see the sun rays penetrating in. There are several trails for this.
It was great experience for beginner hiker. This is my first time hiking and the hill is not way too steep. The direction of the park is a little bit confusing though, might want to make sure that youre on the right path or you might ended up going on longer route to reach the peak.
An amazing place to hike up. Total distance up and down is around 8km (give or take). The view at the peak is nice and various organisms could be seen along the way.
Had a 3 hours walk up & down to Denai 3 Puteri Peak, a total of 9km route. The first half was easy walk and it gets abit more challenging and tiring after midway point. Its fun nonetheless :)
Well marked trails and good for beginners. The last 500m hike up to see the highway is rocky with steep ascend/descend. Can be quite challenging for some.
A pair of good hiking shoes will help you to enjoy the hiking experience because some part of it is slippery. The view from the Puncak Tiga Puteri is worth the effort. You will love it. We saw some monkey on our way uphil. Most of the paths are covered by the tree, so it can be a good place for afternoon walk.
Light to moderate hiking routes available, round trip around 7 km. Highly recommend wearing hiking boots, some soft and slippery trails along the way. A bunch monkeys blocked our way, had to go back to Scout point.
Amazing place for jogging, hiking, cycling and lepak2 with family.no fee entranceplenty car park spacesnear townjust go early to avoid difficulties to find car parkbonus, have many stall, food truck that sell fresh juice, so you can refresh your body after work out.
It took us abt 2hrs to reach the peak. Yes, agree tht the signboard is abit confusion but it doesnt matter as eventually u will reach the peak at any junction tht u took. I would say tht the hike is between beginner to medium level. There is no extrme long ascending hike but some deep staircases only while reaching the peak. Also, yes there is many monkeys and i saw a huge black snake running away from my trail to nearby grass bushes. So, u need to always be alert to ur surrounding during the hike.
The trail is mainly shady so it is suitable at anytime of the day. The are many trails here that intersect with one another. If youre a first time hiker here, dont worry there are a lot of signage especially at the junction between those roads. It took me 1 hour to get to the Denai 3 Puteri Peak with 3km distance from the section 10 entrance.
Good place to have a short hike with awesome KL view. Easy trail, less than 3 hours return and approximate 6km. With public restroom at trailhead and you can clean your shoe outside the restroom. Beside this, can have a short walk at lakeside as well. Good hiking place near city. Is good to swith on ur GPS hiking apps to trace your route if not familiar with the route.
Great hill to hike for begginer climber . After you climb the hill you get beautiful city view of Kota Damansara. The hike is very worthy to do. And the trail is very greeny and seren. Its amazing to hike up there . For sure never miss this place to hike . It has a lake down there with the KD written is beautiful which get a shadow in the water .
Nice place for a good walk. Trails are plentiful and well maintained. Except for the last part of the unity trail going up to the peak which is a little bit steep and needs to keep small children under constant eyesight, the rest of the trails are mostly flat with only minor gradients. Some really beautiful old trees along the way. As there are many different access trails to the unity peak one doesnt really feel crowded even on a beautiful weekend morning. Parking space along the access road to the entrance is plentiful if you come early. The place is safe well kept and nice. Unfortunately like everywhere in this country the entrance to the place looks more like the entrance to a garbage disposal area. I guess it truly reflects unfortunately the relationship of people here with nature
Excellent hike, suitable for beginners. There are many trails to choose from, and its almost impossible to get lost because its all marked and well-maintained. Most trails run in a circle anyway. The most famous thing about this place is the Denai Tiga Puteri peak which is overlooking the DUKE highway. Its height is about 321m, and depending on the trail u choose, hike is about 7-9km (should take about 2.5-3 hours return). There are toilets at the entrance. You need to register to go in but its mainly for safety - all the facilities are free. Parking is by roadside - usually ok but ive been told that sometimes if u are unlucky u can get summons. Ive seen plenty of people at extremes of age hiking there - little kiddoes as young as 4-5 and fit elderly in their 60-70s. All in all its a great place to sweat and enjoy nature, and hikers there are generally very friendly! 😊
The track is quite easy but need to prepare with snacks as you got a long way to reach the peak. The hiking part is only nearest to the peak. Other area is almost like jungle trekking. The air is nice and clean. The peak is only the view of highway but the area is comfortable for picnic and leisure. Prepare with lots of water and snack(apple is preferable). Took around 12km from starting point to peak back to starting point
Had a good hill tracking experience here. However some of the tracks do not have proper signage. Scenery wise, not much flora and fauna to see along the track. When you reach the peak, the view is the busy NKVE highway and Kota Damansara.
First time visiting, very well maintained. A trail map is placed right at the entrance, not too difficult for first time solo hiker. 😊 Trails are easy, is friendly to family with children.Didnt get to the peak, was informed by hikers that King Cobra sighted at the peak, so gate closed. 🌳🍀☘🌿
