Kot Diji Fort - Tourist attraction in Sukkur, Pakistan
Would have rated it 5 stars but due to absence of a high quality resturant (like a 3 star or even 2 starhave rated it 4..but it is a must visit point in Sindh to know about fort and what is exceptional about this fort is,it is built over a small hill and is narrow!..It was built purely for defence and surveillance of Khairpur state
"This State of Art Fort" was built in Talpur Era in 18th Century. It is the masterpiece of Engineering. It is still in stable condition. This fort is located in the town of Kot Dijji in Khairpur Mirs District of Sindh. This reflects the picture of sindhi civilization. There is no entry fee. It is free of cost just carry some drinks and food with you.
An 18th century Fort. Really nice place to visit. No entry fee and very clean and neat place to spend a day.
Great place to visit for tourists
Historical place .... Interested people must visit 🥰👍
Great historical place ,one of the only historic places which are intact, the real facts about this fort is its gates and its room are still in position, and only fort of Pakistan made up of man made bricks
This place is worth seeing especially from an architectural point of view. I suggest that everyone should pay a visit to watch it
This place is called Kot Diji Fort. The fort is located on the hills. It is of great historical importance. This fort was built in the time of Talpurs, it was built by Mir Sohrab Talpur and is still standing today. It takes a lot of hard work to get to the top and you feel very tired. Looking from top to bottom is a fascinating sight. Looking from one side to the other, you can see only palm trees which are a soothing sight. We were fascinated by the greenery and natural beauty of the palms outside the fort. The palms extend westward to the horizon. On the east side, as far as the eye could see, were hills. Most of the people come to this fort for sightseeing and entertainment. Walking and having fun here reduces mental stress. It was a pleasure to walk in this fort and it was a lot of fun.
Good Place. use stairs instead of slops to go up.there are stairs in the corners
A must Visit Place in khairpur District,An Old Fort That was Built for Defense,As You enter from the main huge gate there is a well which is more likely a dustbin because of poor maintenance and then a Canon is there ,After The hallway there are a lot of Stairs as it is situated on a small mountain you are climbing ,The view from the top Of the Fort is breathtaking 😍. Specially the sunset from the Fort is a Beautiful View .

Good Place to visit, nice heritage , no entrance fee. Carry a water bottle with you as one has to climb steps and gets thirsty after reaching top.
The ancient site at Kot Diji was the forerunner of the Indus Civilization. The occupation of this site is attested already at 3300 BCE. The remains consist of two parts; the citadel area on high ground, and outer area. The Pakistan Department of Archaeology excavated at Kot Diji in 1955 and 1957
A great historical palace, its structure is very old and very interesting, great for tourists, if you want full experience then try to reach the top of the palace you will find something special hidden!
It is a historical place (Kot Diji Fortwas built around 1790 by the Talpur dynasty ruler of Upper Sindh, Mir Suhrab, who reigned from 1783 to 1830 AD. This fort built on the ridge of a steep narrow hill is well-preserved.
Trip to Kot Diji Fort was a nice experience however as usual a lot more is required of authorities for the maintenance of fort plus sign and info boards are missing, we dont know much about this historical place because there were no guides or display of information.
Heritage place gor visit with family. Good place
Very Nice place to explore the art.For the Exploration the place Is best But you need Know that there is Lack Of Somethings in the Fort. Like there is no any Washroom Up there or No any Shops there. The Government should Hire some Guides for the Guidance of Locals as more they facilate the locals more they build there reputation and Increase their Tourism. The Government Should Consider it seriously That these Things are primary Requirements of any People.
It was great experience visiting kot diji fort.
Kot Diji Fort was built by Mir Sohrab Khan Talpur between 1785 and 1795. The site sits on a hill at the southern end of the Rohri Hills, and sits above a prehistoric mound of the same name, where remains of a pre-Harappa civilization have been found. The fort sits atop a 110 foot tall high hill that rises above the city of Kot Diji. The forts 30 foot tall walls encircle the uppermost portion of the fort, resulting a narrow-width fortress with perimeter of 1.8 kilometres. The fort contains three strategically placed towers that are each 50 feet tall. The fort contains several sites for cannon placement, and contains numerous inner passages for protection. The fort also contains a water reservoir, munition storage, prison, courtroom, numerous cells for security personnel, and a small regal residence. The Govt of Pakistan has declared it protected heritage site.

This is historical Fort from the period of Talpurs, A dynasty that ruled the Sindh Before British. This fort is built on mountains. This place is good for a family visit.
Historical place. Washroom is available. It is ticketed place. Not functional fort. It is not under use of any family or government. Open for public to visit. No parking is available. One can park on ones own risk. It may take up to 30 minutes to walk towards highest point in this fort. View is beautiful from the top of the fort.
This is a great fort. It was an impenetrable Fort. However, Its present condition saddens me. Its not preserved site.

one of the best preserve fort in Pakistan. strategically made very impressive on top of small hill, which seems to be difficult to conquer. form the top the rulers were suppose to keep an eye on whole of the surrounding area. build with small brick, fort design is very impressive. this fort is in kot DG which is near to khairpur, although government is paying less importance to this fort as it is still the property of the rural talpur
Kot Diji FortTehseel of District Khairpur Sindh, here I am attaching some pictures of QILA Which was built in 18 to 19 century in Talpur (Mirsera, and many more historical buildings and places are in this fort also wildlife area which was build by Mirs (Talpurduring Talpur dynesty and many more interesting places.
Well-preserved site of Kot Digi fort, which was built by the Mirs of Talpur, rulers of Khairpur state is a nice place to visit, if you are interested in history and want to savour panoramic views of the area. Entrance to the camel-shaped fort is free. There is little bit of height involved but it is totally worth climbing.
Wall of Sindh an ancient historical strong, long, best militant fort and a story of brave, peaceful, hosting people of Sindh valley, world must come to know, visit and explore this place
Its a beautiful historical place

Kot Diji is amazing historic place. its a must watch and must visit place in interior Sindh, Province of Pakistan. not far away from national highway, plan your visit while going to north of Pakistan or South of Pakistan. Khairpur is one of main town/city in interior Sindh province and its a beautiful place to visit. matter of interest could be that its a fort with amazing story from the history and administration keeping this fort in very good condition by doing maintenance of this huge fort. they are actually preserving the natural and genuine feel of this fort.guide was available to tell you the past of this huge Building.Washroom: NoWheelchair access: yes (but one has to have few people to handle wheelchair perfectly)as all the forts or mostly forts have ramps to go updrinking water: Yesparking: yes
Love this place. Concerned authorities should conduct its repair on urgent basis. Top view is awesome and worth seeing.
Nice archaeological site to visit, the castle was built in the late 1790, it is well-preserved. In my opinion the Castle was served as military barracks, Jail and 2 prisoners execution docks, although it has an inner court containing Mir Suhrabs accommodation & Kitchen but the inner court is not preserved and the Mirs bed chamber is left for bats now a days. All 3 elephant proof gates are still standing and worth observing, There is no entry fee for visitors and there is a small rest area for the visitors besides the main gate containing souvenir shop.
The most beautiful Fort I have ever seen in my life. A must go place to see.
Great experience, a unique place of talpur emperor, fort was built by Mir Suhrab Khan Talpur
Randomly decided to stop by and explore this fort. Stunning and historic! But not well maintained with not much information in form of plaques and no real facilities for tourists. The way it sits within the surrounding though, is a sight to see.
A magnifient fort built on limestone hill, gives a flashback of Talpur kingdom during late 18th century. The scenic beauty, lush green fields, lake and hills give a peacful feeling. It is one of the beauty of Khairpur and a must visit place. The government should speed up the renovation/maintenance work.

Its a nice place to visit, but the authorities handling its care are not doing any efficient work in maintaining its beauty and looks. Its complete structure has been weathered and have been a bad shape since I visited it first time in 2008. No any sign of cleanliness. Although the view from the fort is fascinating. A long stretch of green land.
This lesser talked about archiological gem of Sindh was the first fortification of the Mirs of Khairpur.Built by the founder state and subsequent dynasty. The fort is a simple, powerful and very purposeful building which tops thr city of Kot Diji. The living quarters inside the fort are depict the pioneering spirit of the times when it was constructed. The fort seals off the entrance to Khairpur From both larkana and Hyderabad.
Beautiful and picturesque fort with lovely people. Dhaba, Soft drinks, chips, Nuts etc everything is available outside the fort. Govt must take care of these assets.
Pros:- A great view & atmosphere. The fort provides a 360 degree vantage point for the entire area.- You can buy refreshments from hawkers inside the fort at intervals.Cons:- No dustbins in the fort, & Pakistanis litter.- Would be nice if there was a knowledgeable guide on-site fluent in Urdu.
Its a very great place to visit.. You should come here once.
Worth a visit, just be careful about the heat, theres a fair amount of walking needed, and summers and afternoons can get pretty hot - even mid-October can be scorching. The fort closes fairly early, well before sunset, so plan accordingly. Try to call ahead for a guide - we didnt see any guides available, though that may have been because of the time.
A historic Place of Khairpur Sindh. Very interesting place to visit and experience old heritage.
Worth visiting heritage site.. but repairing and rehabilitation work being done is very poor..!Lack of proper sign boards to reach entry point.. over all nice place..!
Exquisite n outclass fort. Its a once in a lifetime experience of this 220 yr old fort n was completed in 50 yrs.
