Outstanding place and one-horne 🦏 rhinoceros, elephant 🐘 and maney others birds i see there and the climate was very moderate and greeny every were amazing place it was.

Cool picnic spot. Known for Elephant Ride through jungle, Bird seeing, Natural resources etc.

It could have been good but the army took too much time to get permissions to allow us to enter which took away the fun.

It is the one of the vist place for tourists. There are maya animals in KTWR like elephant , different birds, like other different animals are see here..It is best place for vist.

Natural as it can be. The river bank isnt well managed but no complaints as it is clean and naturally protected. Needs atleast a full day to go around. No restaurants inside the reserve so pack something!

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve lies on the floodplains of the Sapta Koshi River in the south-eastern Terai. The reserve was gazetted in 1976 to preserve habitat for the only remaining population of Wild buffalo, Arna (Bubalus arnee). The 176 sq. km. reserve is Nepals smallest wildlife reserve. The eastern and western embankments of the Sapta Koshi River define the area. In 1987, Koshi Tappu was declared a Ramsar site, a wetland of international significance. Wonderful conservation area located near Saptakoshi beach, we can see too many species of animals, birds, fishes and so on.And also a some kinds of danger for local people because you don’t get any guide or protection team so we have to be always safe.

Quite good environment, enjoyed the nature with great views of elephant, Arna and verify of birds ....but still many places to improve not quite safe and full of external distribution.

Koshi Tappu is the globally acclaimed wildlife area with a lot of biodiversity and natural scenes. Birds from Europe (Easttravels here and flies back, these abroad birds travel all the way till Koshi Tappu from Siberia in the pursuit of good climate and likely environment. I just love this place

Nice abode of seasonally migratory birds o the Bank of mighty the Saptakoshi River. Winter birds from North add up diversity here. Resident elephants and wild buffaloes are attractions of this place.

It is well known for migrated birds watching and wild buffalo " Arna". However, it is not very organized and bushy. The entrance charge is very high compared to what you can get to see inside the forest.Note:Per person entrance charge Rs.300Per vehicle : Rs. 600

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is my best place around East Nepal.As a wildlife lover and wildlife photographer I love to visit this place everytime.Aarna, Elephants, Chital, Marsh Mugger Crocodile, Nilgai, Hog Deer, Golden Jackal, Rhesus Macaque, Langur. Can be sighted within full day tour.Only Fishing cat and Otters are very hard to see.You can see many many species of birds. Now its beginning of winter I have spotted Winter migratory birds already.

Good place to visit. Full of natural beauty. However you need to be alert if you are going through the forest as wild elephants are found there.

If you can tolerate heat, this is a good place to visit. Varieties of birds will keep you busy and excited. Koshi river is huge and can go on as far as eyes can meet at some places.

Nepals first Ramsar site. Famous for birds. In winter, birds come from Siberia to avoid the winter. Animals including Elephant, Arna, Nilgai are found. There is also an elephant breeding center for breeding elephants. The locals are always scared because of the wild elephants including Mukuna.

The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 km2 of wetlands in the  Sunsari,  Saptari and Udayapur Districts. It comprises extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, and ranges in elevation from 75 to 81 m. This place is Home for several species of Birds. It was established in 1976. It hosts Nepals last remaining herd of the wild water buffalo.

One of the best place to be in wild area and good place for camping trip too. Highly recommend to visit this place.

One of the few reserves in the world with high bird density and one can enjoy the bird sounds which is so relaxing and mesmerising. Its always in my list when I have free time travelling to Eastern Terai region of Nepal.Similarly, one can have a true wildlife experience watching Arna (wild buffaloesand Asiatic Elephanths grazing in the reserve. Its also a home for river dolphins, asian rock python, leopards, and crocodiles.

Despite being on top 10 tourism attractions it wasnt attractive at all...museums were not in good condition. Only got to see 3 elephants and some wild buffalos during our jungle safari..!!

It is a nice wildlife reserve famous for Asian Water Wild Buffalo and elephant. It contains the territory of Sunsari and Saptari districts. It is very famous for the migratory birds in the winter. The reserve management needs to be more focused on loss of life and property by the wild animals they come out from the reserve.

Nice place along the banks of Koshi

One of the famous wildlife reserve in Nepal. Specially it is popular for migrated birds from Siberia during winter. The reserve is also famous for different wild animals like wild buffalo, snakes, pangolin etc. Dense forest is awesome also you got to eat different organic fruits inside the jungle. During winter people from different countries come to visit the place for birding purpose. More than 400 species of birds are found in the reserve and more than 30 mammals are found.Recommended

The wildlife reserve situated in eastern part of Nepal, from Kakarbhitta border( Indo-Nepal borderit is aproximately 100 Km.Asian elephants, Asian buffalo, hog deer, dolphins, butterflies are found here.For bird watching this place is best.Ideal time to visit is from September to November.You have to stay overnight or you should be in park at 5 am. to see most of animal activities.Elephant safari is also available.Do visit.

A beautiful and calm place. Perpas, not as exciting as Chitwan National Park, however, itss worth the visit.

Not many birds to see at this time. To see some wild buffaloes. Very nice is the nature and the riverbed. It gives some watchtowers. Nice view there into the nature. A peaceful place. I am German and on motobiketour in Northeast-India and Eastnepal.

Good sightseeing. Wild buffalo and deer can be seen grazing grass. Few elephant and a baby elephant in the camp site. Great morning and evening view. Sometimes wild elephant visit the area, seen blocking the roads. Famous for bird lovers.

Koshi Tappu is famous for wild water buffalo. Besides this koshi tappu is the habitat of many species of birds (Migrated, resident, resting on flying). Reptiles like ghariyals, pythons as well as wild elephant have their habitat here. Koshi is the highest discharge river of Nepal. The deltas formed by river is known as Koshi Tappu is now preserved as Koshi Tappu wild life reserve.

Its good if you visit either early morning or after 4 at the evening. Famous for wild buffaloes (Arnaand birds. Lacks proper guide and infrastructure to reach the island. Overall you have to be adventurous to get what you are going there for else it will be boring place to visit. You will find many towers there to look what you are there for

The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 km2(68 sq miof wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur Districts. It comprises extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, and ranges in altitude from 75 to 81 m (246 to 266 ft). It was established in 1976 and designated as a Ramsar site in December 1987.A wide range of animals inhabit the protected area. In its water courses and ponds, 200 species of fish have been recorded, most of which are resident. Two toadspecies, nine frog species, six lizard species, five snake species and eleven turtle species are recorded Gharial and mugger crocodile occur as well.Notable among the 485 bird species are watercock, Indian nightjar, dusky eagleowl, black-headed cuckooshrike, whitetailed stonechat, striated grassbird, large adjutant stork, Pallas’s fish eagle, common golden-eye, and gullbilled tern. Swamp francolinand rufous-vented grass babbler occur as well.

So Wild. You can even find wild elephants wandering around which is dangerous.

There is nothing much to see here besides 2 rogue elephants and few heads of water buffaloes seen in the riverbanks as far as 5 kms.
