Longtime kosher strip-mall outfit preparing overstuffed sandwiches & other deli classics.
Bad customer service here. Very rude employees. Food is OK
Pro: simple / Con: simple…pastrami sandwich was perfect. It’s was juicy and the flavor was rich and delicious. The simplicity gets it 4 stars but there’s no creativity or meshing of complex tasting profiles. Fabulous for simplicity but I’m a guy that appreciates creativity, complexity and sauce and those are all lacking.
Great Jewish Deli with all the fixings...
Awsum corned beef, chopped liver & knishes. Always a great meal!
I have been a customer for over 20 years. My husband is sitting shiva and I reached out to find out who sent us food. I am so upset how the owner and staff spoke to me. They were too busy to speak with me and treat their customers with respect. I am very disappointed that I was hung up on twice. I have no intention of of using them again!
ATE LUNCH YESTERDAY AND IT WAS FABULOUS!REMINDED ME OF MY MOTHER!
The food is normally very good. But this time, both the cornbeef and the pastrami were very salty and greasy. The rye bread was soaked. The meat was almost inedible. Shocking! Maybe it something to do with the temporary refrigerator unit they were using. I dont know.
I love this place, the Corned Beef, The Turkey. And oh oh oh ! those Pickels to die for 😊😊😊
Great food and wonderful staff. Old fashioned Jewish deli. Overstuffed sandwiches.
Brisket, pastrami, corned beef excellent . Side of vegetables terrific too. Old style deli dining room, wood floor, tables and chairs
My 1st time back here since Covid restrictions. Nice place. The 1/2 sandwich & soup combo $16.98 has been my fav w mushroom barley soup & very rare roast beef 1/2 sandwich. I was shocked & so disappointed that all the roast beefs were cooked well done. I had pastrami instead. It was good, but no comparison. I hope the next time they dont cook all the roasts well
Classic kosher deli. They are a rarity. Everything we had was delicious. Pastrami was lean and moist and tender. Dad said the tongue was as good as he has had. Crispy fries. Flaky knish. Service was prompt and appropriate. Yeah, you’re gonna pay $20 for a sandwich, but it is a NICE sandwich. I don’t mind spending a few dollars more if I am getting quality - and you get that here.Worth the 35 minute drive. Five stars well earned.
At the Kosher Nosh they dont make great sandwiches they build them.... Cell phone is next to it for size reference... The best turkey.. fresh rye.
Our waitress/server was beyond rude and we were off to a bad start prior to our meals arriving. The food was very good but the waitress definitely took away from our experience.
Pastrami was amazing, the food in this deli is greatly friendly staff very clean store!
Was going to order for platters of food but the person on the phone was so RUDE Illl give my business to someplace else!!!!
Ordered corn beef sandwich on door dash- what I received was shredded pieces of corn beef- very embarrassing. I called to discuss and was treated poorly on the phone
Had a pastrami sandwich and it was good but not like Im used to thats why the 4 stars. Service was great!!!!
Great corned beef on rye sandwich. The dining room is spacious and clean. The service was prompt & friendly. We enjoyed the small cups of potato salad, coleslaw, and pickles as well. The sandwich is a little pricey at about $20 but its packed with quality meat and we shared between 2 people.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but this same experience has happened twice. They say they close at 8, we get there at 6:30, they tell us they’re closed and won’t seat us. If you’re changing hours, the right thing to do would be to update your website, google page and hours on your store front.
When I think of a kosher deli, this place is exactly what I envision. The food is very good and the prices are quite reasonable for a kosher restaurant.
Great kosher food. Fair prices. Very friendly staff.
A bit pricy, but can’t stop craving their pickled green tomatoes and mustard from the store and pastrami sandwiches from the dinner.
Craving Matza Ball soup? This is the place to get your fix! The pastrami sandwich is great! Great staff and great food! Oh yeah… try the Corned Beef Sandwich too! They have half a sandwich and soup too! Yes, pastrami or corned beef can be your half sandwich!
I gave them a five star review close to a year ago and since then, theyve gone down hill! I dont know if its because of covid or something else, but i just bought two sandwiches and two stuffed cabbages and the total was a shade under $70 bucks To pay $25 for a sandwich that was barely a half a pound is insane! I can go to shoprite and get a full pound or either corned beef, or pastrami for close to half the price! Now, the stuffed cabbage was decent...but not for over $8 a piece! Like i said, two sandwiches and two stuffed cabbages for $70!!!!
We both enjoyed our food. Mine was the best pastrami sandwich in years. Linda, the waitress, was great.
I actually have never been here yet, but I do LOVE the owners response to these MISERABLE hacks that are trying to pass them off as human. If you dont like, just get on with your life. Mommy and Daddy didnt give you enough attention growing up, we get it! Dont take it out on a guy trying to run a business. I am going to make it my point to stop by here on my way home tonight. Support local, small businesses. If youre miserable, stay home and reflect upon what went wrong in your life.Update: I made good on my word... Stopped by there today and got a knish... It wasnt good at all... But rather freaking phenomenal, Brian! Great place. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back!
Food was decent. Wife and I ordered hot pastrami. We also ordered a potato knish which never came even after reminding the waitress. They were very nice in giving us extra pickles and Cole slaw and potato salad to take home.
Great food and great customer service. I have been at this place for take out and they are usually busy but they are fast! And the order is always right. They also have a dine in option. Pastrami on rye sandwich is best in town!!
The corned beef is dry. The bagels are terrible. The whitefish salad is easily the worst I’ve ever had, as are the hot dogs. These positive reviews baffle me. I don’t ever think places will top Katz’s but my local bagel store is lightyears better than this place. Just inedible.
Needed a quick dinner...stopped and order a roast beef and a tongue sandwich...tongue is sooo expensive, but this sandwich was worth the $23.00...always great and fresh sandwiches...highly recommended...
Has been on Christmas dinner for 3 years running. NEVER disappoints. Pastrami is so flavorful. Potato knishes are great. Best coleslaw. Just wish the rye bread had seeds.
Wonderful and legendary. Dont expect warm and fuzzy treatment but that may be part of their charm! Fantastic and never changed! The epitome of a great Kosher deli!
Out of this world… this place was the real deal, I was craving a Reuben so I googled it and started skimming through all of the places that make them and when I saw Kosher Nosh Deli I decided to drive the 20 minutes and I’m glad I did. We sat in and theirs a lot of art on the walls and the food was perfect. Much respect and from now on every time I drive by I’m going.
Kosher nosh is the best Jewish deli around. Theyre pastrami sandwiches corned beef conditions fried Chicken salads anything they make is absolutely delicious. Theres stuff is courteous I would give this place a five-star review their staff is friendly and very willing to help if you dont know what something is. If you havent gone you must try it you wont be disappointed.
This is a fantastic “throwback” Jewish delicatessen and I’m lucky to live near it. The pastrami sandwich was OVERLY stuffed, enough to make 2 normal sandwiches and it was super-flavorful. Also had the kasha knish, which was delicious with the flakiest golden crust. Onion rings were extra-crunchy. Good cole slaw & potato salad.Great prices for the portion size and I can’t wait to go back for another cheat meal!
Its not cheap but if you want a real Jewish deli experience, this is about the best you can do in New Jersey. I recommend the pastrami and corned beef, the Cole slaw and pickles, and wash it down with a celery tonic.
One word: YUMMY!Its been a couple years since Ive been here last and Im glad I made the trip! I had the Corned Beef Pastrami combo overstuffed sandwich and it was worth every bit of the price on the menu! It is quality Kosher meet that melted in my mouth! I did not savor every bit but did take half home with me to enjoy later on.Thanks Kosher Nosh!
I was craving a post pandemic pastrami sandwich. I work in Paramus and frequented Harold’s (now closed). I heard about Kosher Nosh and close to my house sounds great.I went in and had to do a double take $13.98 for pastrami sandwich and $32 for a pound of pastrami. The sandwich was good, identical to Harolds but at twice the price literally. If I recall correctly Tuesday or Wednesday was Pastrami special at Harolds and it was $7.I guess its survival of the priciest. Maybe if I am really craving it again, I’ll stop by after I save all the money at bottle king but doubt it!Food = 5 StarPrice = 1 StarOverall = 3 Star
I was just here today for my first time - an out of state visitor wanted a pastrami sandwich so I gave this place a try.The pastrami was impeccable, the brisket was tender & juicy, brisket kinish was fantastic, the pickles, cole slaw and other salads were very tasty as well. And on top of that, the service was super friendly to me & especially my daughter. All around great experience. I will definitely be back!
We enjoyed dinner at Kosher Nosh Deli Restaurant. The corned beef / pastrami sandwich was really generous, with cole slaw, potato salad, pickles and cucumbers on the side, though only 4 stars because 1there was no washing cup for Netilas Yadayim and we needed to improvise, 2the salad they give does lack somewhat.
Best corned beef and pastrami sandwiches in Bergen County. Huge and delicious. I absolutely love all their soups, including Pea and Mushroom Barley. Don’t forget to pick up a couple of hot dogs with mustard and pickles on your way out and some chocolate or cinnamon babka!
I always feel compelled to write more than one review for the Kosher Nosh, so here’s number three.I grew up eating this food. Getting free pickles (when I was cute and tiny). It’s still just as good as ever, and that’s about twenty+ years worth of consistency in greatness.I happened to get severely ill with covid, and once I could eat again, all I did was eat Kosher Nosh tuna salad wraps. Their matzo ball soup used to heal me as a child, but the tuna wraps brought me back to life. I love this place, forever and ever.(my food was always picked up and dropped off by someone with extreme social distancing on behalf of the staff and ourselves, Kosher Nosh has handled this pandemic amazingly. Thank you, Kosher Nosh!)
Great place to eat! Has a mom n pops place feel to it :)
Stop in for some pastrami sandwiches and was overwhelmed by the lots of different choices they offer! From deli cuts to prepared foods this place is jackpot! The place gets busy especially on the weekends.
Food was not fresh must have been sitting in steam table for days.stuffed cabbage was completely overcooked. Waitress stated it sits on the steam table for days.. I drove an hour and a half to get there craving good kosher food the menu was great. Unfortunately I feel the quality of the food is just lacking. To add insult to injury your waitress put everything in the same container to go for two meals going to two separate houses so I came home to a big pile of mush..
Ive been here a few times and I absolutely love it. The staff is so extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone there is just so genuine, kind, and helpful. The food is amazing. There is no other word for it. The potato salad is the best Ive ever had in my entire life. The soups are fantastic as well. I always look forward to coming here. They are also very kid friendly!
Ok, so I go here to this little Kosher Deli and park and the first thing you notice is the old style Jewish Deli. Not your overpriced delis in lower Manhattan or the Bronx. Clearly visible to the left of the entrance, are the Kosher certifications. I was looking for knockwurst and hot dogs with the skin for a bbq. I purchased 2 pounds of each, which came to around 42.00. Compare this to NYC prices of 100.00 to 11000 plus hidden taxes. I walked around, looked at all their offerings and a steady flow of long time customers strolled in. One customer was disappointed in his last order and they "made it right" for him right then and there. Old school busy place with customer service with guys who have worked behind the counter for years. You should feel lucky to dine here.
Fantastic family restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, lots of regulars, friendly.
Great brisket and pastrami. Mustard at tables was perfect and pickles are solid. Only issue is that it ended up being a little pricey.
