Banquets, set menus and cook-your-own Korean BBQ, plus housemade kimchi, in a bustling locale.
Great K BBQ place, fantastic for families.
My friend and I had dinner here on a Saturday. It was very busy, I suggest you book before you visit. The atmosphere was nice in the restaurant. The service was friendly but it was very slow. It took long time for all the items to arrive. And they forgot about our drinks as well.We ordered a pork and seafood set, and an extra ox tongue dish. The food was very yummy and it was fun to cook ourselves. The set comes with a seaweed soup, a small bowl of rice, the meat, and 6 small dishes of pickled vegetables, a tea or coffee. The meat was pre marinated, the cut was very thin so it was not hard to cook. The price was good, but I felt like what we ordered was not enough, because after everything was finished, I was still a bit hungry. They have some interesting desserts like chocolate hotpot, fried icecream etc. They offer banquet for dinner as well, I remember it was $33 per person.Overall a good experience, recommend this place for a good Korean bbq restaurant.
Location is a little more convenient than going into the city (from south). There is parking at the rear. The restaurant is ok, however, wife brings her own sauce as they dont offer much choice - I nearly gave one less star!
We decided to go here for dinner on a whim as we were having a drink nearby at the Suburban Brew. The restaurant was about 70% full and they were able to find a table for us. We ended up forgoing the set menu and went a-la-carte and picked the meat and vegetables dishes that we wanted. The meat had very little marinade so we could taste the flavour of the meat better. The kimchi and bean sprouts were very tasty and the flavours are reminiscent of home made food.Taste: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐Price: ⭐⭐⭐
Took our crew, first time for them. The teenager loved cooking his choice of meat. The 20 yo loved the choice when you didn’t want to cook it yourself.Quality fresh ingredients, nice and clean, good value, worthy of a regular family meal.
I love this restaurant but the servers not speak English well . But the food really affordable and authentic!
best bbq in adelaide, especially beef and ox tongue,15 years never changed.
One of our faves, great staff, always busy, but never to busy to make sure ur looked after! Amazing value for money and a fun experience for the whole family.
Fantastic dining experience
It had been many years since our last time at Korea Restaurant and our visit yesterday made us wonder we we had waited so long to return. It was at about 40% capacity, with friendly service and for the most part, quite timely. We both chose the "Special Banquet" which included soup, entree of spring rolls and curry puffs plus a marinated selection of beef, chicken, pork and seafood which is accompanied with a selection of side dishes and rice bowls. To finish, there was a chocolate fondue with banana, apple, pineapple and marshmallows. It does include tea and coffee but we werent offered this - to be honest, we would have refused it anyway as we were so full!! The food was DELICIOUS and the value was sensational. For just $33 per person, it cant be beaten. There are other choices on the menu and you can get Chef cooked meals too but we liked the fun of cooking the meats on the BBQ. We wont be leaving it for another 10 years to visit again. Highly Recommend!
Prices at first glance are quite reasonable. However, the quality of the food is of a lower standard. The dining experience itself gave something to be desired. The theme of the restaurant was pretty good though.
We did have a lovely time at the restaurant for my Mums 79th birthday party. She loves K-drama so it made sense to head here and drink some soju and barbecue some food. The price is good, though we probably didnt need the dessert. The owner made it special for my mum by turning down the lights and bringing a small cake with sparkler - the whole crowd helped sing happy birthday. This happened at another birthday table, too, during the night. A very friendly, happy atmosphere that got a bit noisy at full capacity (which it was on Saturday nightbut that was fine. Thank you, Korea team!
My order was lost on a table of 5... Everyone else got their food while I had to wait 15 to re-order :-( everyone else loved their food while mine was rushed and not that nice. The restaurant was chock a block so Id say my experience was not normal.
I quite like it. First its tasty. Second the price is good compared with other Korean bbq in city. (But of course the luxury meal taste more delicious, my comment is based on the feeling from price and the meal’s quality)Anyway, here is next to the “capri cinema” can make the night or a date quite easy and happy. I will recommend to everyone. :-)
I regularly organise group dinners and was excited to go to this restaurant but was incredibly disappointed. The grills are tiny and difficult to cook on. The service was terrible. I rang before and asked if we could pay separately and was told that we could but was then when it was time to pay the staff refused to let us paid individually. Haft of the people in our group had finished eating and were frog 🐸 marched out of the restaurant to stand outside in the rain as they were over booked. Terrible customer service.😖
Have been dining here for over 20yrs and it is still a good choice for us. The food is good, the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Horrendous food and service. They literally wouldnt let us order food until an hour after getting there. Drinks took about just as long. Tasted terrible too. Only recommend to someone you really dislike
Not authentic Korean bbq. Feels more like Chinese cuisine
Good portions at a reasonable price. The meat and seafood were tasty. The barbecue sets are well worth the price.
Bad dining experience, not real Korean BBQ, we didnt even have Korean side dishes, the meat was fairly fresh but there was no Korean barbecue sauce, only soy sauce, when I said I needed garlic slices they just gave me half a garlic and I had to peel the garlic myself! Will never came back
Fair price with the full amount of meat and pickles. Good service and vibrant atmosphere. Love it.
Its decent Korean BBQ, you cook yourself, the meat was nice but the service was seriously lacking, left waiting and orders forgotten.
Adelaides most authentic Chinese/Japanese BBQ? Definitely not authentic Korean, despite the name. The stoves used are the very tiny Japanese style hibachi grills. Food was okay but very slow to arrive.
The family loved this place, the kids enjoyed cooking there own food, portions were generous and drinks were priced fairly. We will be back.
The food here is absolutely delicious. The menu is well priced and considering the amount of food you get, its bang for your buck. Tons of options. It is a fun restaurant, especially for families. Some staff are quite blunt but others are really nice and helpful.
Good food. Affordable prices. And personally I liked that it wasnt all you can eat so you dont all have to do the same thing on a table. Only bad thing was they didnt appear to do split bills.
Delicious food and great value. I especially like how generous the serving of side dishes is. I like the atmosphere here too.Would recommend!
Terrible customer service to not only my partner and I but also other table surrounding us. We had to get up on multiple occasions and ask for our order which was raw meat that took over 40 minutes to serve. Our drinks alone took 20 minutes to come to our table. Not one apology on the delay on our meal and staff were extremely rude when had complained about the level of customer service. Wouldn’t recommend what so ever.
Such delicious food and such a fun experience. The lady who served us was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond. Absolutely lovely experience. Thanks so much. Will be back!
If this rating was for the food alone it would be a 5...however very poor table service.....we were completely ignored by all floor staff...had to go out of our way to get anyone to tend our table.Half our order was not written down and was forgotten as was some of our drinks. Was told we ordered too much food as some dishes were held back...only to see them on our bill which was quite rude given they lady who told us we had too much food was the one who added up our bill!!We were a table of 4.Unfortunately the very poor service put a big damper on the super fantastic food and has put us off returning again.
Korea a great restaurant that doesnt seem to change as evething is 5 star it doesnt need to! Thank you for a faboulous dining experience!
If you want some real Korean BBQ experience, don’t go there.
Their service attitude is very bad, on the wrong products, some wrong food, also dont admit his mistake, the error upon the guest, to say we eat beef is lamb, the boss attitude is very bad, we only ask them again on a dish, but they just want the error upon us, blame us, not only such, barbecue flavor also is bad, particularly distasteful stove is smaller, Do not know how this store is open to the present, how hasnt closed, hasnt been complained
I personally loved this place. I went there for the first time on saturday with family to celebrate my birthday. We had a lovely meal and the staff were really nice. The owner was wonderful and even organised everyone to sing me happy birthday before i left. I absolutely loved it. she and the restaurant definately made my day.
Came on my birthday and they let me put my cake in the chiller, they also brought the cake out and lit the candles, turned the lights out and sung happy birthday for me rlly good experience and v sweet they didn’t have to! Confusing paying separately with friends as they tally it up as one order other than that food was lovely and atmosphere was chill. Love the freedom of cooking the meat to your liking thank u for the birthday respects !
Quite a busy restaurant. Great atmosphere. Our whole family enjoyed the experience. Food was nice and the staff were friendly. The Korean beer is worth trying.
Though the charm of the original owner is just a memory, the current staff have made sure it remains a lovely, family oriented place for set menu, Korean BBQ. If youve been to one or two Korean BBQ places this one is somewhat lite on, not a butcher with a charcoal grill but a restaurant with gas grill and fine cut, bite sized portions, ready for a few seconds on the heat before you consume with the varietal pickled vegetables (Banchan or bansangand perfect, white rice. But who are we kidding?! All the kids know you only eat your mains so you can get access to the fantastic fried icecream! I reckon the recipe hasnt changed since the 80s! (if you have a birthday, mention it to the staff as you are seated and see if anything happens. Something used to happen and it was delightful. Its been a while though. Ill let you find out...)Fun for all ages, so long as you dont mind "cooking your own food" 😉. Try the Ox liver, its really quite good. Cant go wrong with the beef and the seafood is fun, if a bit small and requiring some attention to cook correctly.Oh, theres also chocolate fondue!(dont wear anything you dont want smoked! 😂)
Food taste fine but service can be better.Ordered the set A but was forgotten to serve the tea.Be mindful that they may not accept your Entertainment Book discount voucher which is the main reason I came for.
Worst experience ever for Korean BBQ, what i got served is just plain raw meats with soy sauce, also i ordered kimchi soup and what i have is soup with kim chi and hokken noodles, never come backFrom what I can see is this place run by chinese owner, but the food nothing like authentic korean BBQ
This place is one of my favourite places in Adelaide, and my family and I have been coming here for years. The prices are great value and the food is always amazing. The set menu with the meat, soup, rice and vegetables is always a winner, and they also have really nice spring rolls and fried bean curd. They also allow you to bring your own wine! The only downside I could mention is the service which can range from excellent to fine to not great depending on who happens to be on that day - but for the price and the amazing delicious food, its worth it!! Weve been there a million times and well be there a million more!Note to vegans and vegetarians: Nothing is listed vegan. You cant have the soup or anything on the grill, but spring Rolls, fried bean curd, Kim chee and the mixed vegetable set are your friend - remember to ask for no cauliflower because the marinade contains pork!
The food is ok but the service is really really slow.U guys really need hire more waiter.
I am a big foodie and have tried most of the restaurants in Adelaide! Although, I always find myself loving my visit to the Korea Restaurant. Would recommend coming with a group of family and friends to fully enjoy the atmosphere and experience of cook-your-own-KBBQ. Very reasonable wine list on offer. Highly recommend the fried ice-cream for dessert afterwards too!! Great customer service, especially from the manager who always makes an extra effort with a big smile on her face!! :)
Enjoyed the BBQ, it’s a fun experience and the food was tasty (especially kimchi). Every time I’ve been the service has been poor. Not enough staff, they forget things (drinks, sauces mostlyand you have to ask multiple times for things you’ve already ordered. Have left on one occasion before ordering dessert because I we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. Would go back simply because it’s cheap and convenient but go at a quieter time.
Great selection of red meat, sea food, and veggies to throw on the grill! Theres a nice layout with several grills per table to bbq the raw meat to your liking. Also BYO Wine, which is always a nice option to have, though there is a $10 corking fee.
Been coming here for years, feel like it’s never changed. Good value meal. Service was good, food was great. Parking can be an issue in the side streets when it’s busy.
An old family favourite, I am reviewing this after being a customer for almost 20 years. A contemporary take on Korean BBQ, this place has always focused on inclusion, so it is not 100% authentic, but it is cheap, and family friendly. As a traditional style Korean BBQ you are served a platter of meat which you cook yourself on a grill located on the table. This is great fun, and good for groups, they can do long tables with several grills, and kids are welcome and really enjoy its uniqueness. On the menu is best value is a "Set" where you choose your protein, and get served a seaweed soup (basic but delicious), the protein, unlimited rice, and a set of Korean side plates of vegetables, ranging from a pickled cucumber, usually the kids favourite, to bean sprouts (my favourite), and of course Kimchi.Dessert is extra, but worth it, they have a chocolate hotpot which is a chocolate fondue served with fruit and marshmallows, done on the grill you cook the meat on.This place can get busy so bookings especially for groups bigger than 2 are really essential. They stopped opening on Sundays which is a bit of a shame. They have noodle dishes on the menu which I know people who dont enjoy meat or cooking their own do enjoy, and their starters like spring rolls and deep fried battered tofu (a great dish which should be on more menus). If you are looking for a cheap evening out for something different, healthy, value for money and delicious, this is the go. Note that they are not great at finishing off the paperwork at the end of the meal, so its best to shout out or go up to the counter if your in a rush.
Beautiful people, so many choices. Delicious
Good mood. Clean environment. But could have more variety on vegetarian dishes.
Wonderful food and cook tops. Some oil to lube up the hot plates mid meal though would be #fantastic.
Had the buffet for 28/head. Extremely good value for money. Included was a variety of meats, seafood, sides, pickled veges, soft drinks and nut sundaes/fruit for dessert.
