Kopi Kade - Cafe in Colombo, Sri Lanka
Loved the whole experience. Excellent food and Coffee. Excellent and friendly service.
Very attentive to their customers. Many repeat visitors give it a friendly atmosphere, with some chatting with the owner. The entrance is usually restricted by cars of its well to do visitors. Top quality global coffee varieties on offer, brewed exceptionally well. Overall an excellent establishment, though it could be a little over priced, but perhaps that’s intentional, targeting a niche market of upper echelon clientele
Best specialty coffee we found in Sri Lanka in 3 month. The owner absolutely passionate about coffee and real expert. He has numerous sorts of coffee. As we understood he runs trainings for baristas in best coffee places in town. Food is good, has a descent cheeses as ingredients. Croissant is real croissant and made in interesting local fusion way. The portions size is much more European than lankianThe prices are a bit high, but it goes with a territory))
If you’re a coffee enthusiast, do yourself a favor and please visit this cafe. The best coffee I’ve ever had in SRILANKA !
Not the best French toast even though they have sweet and savory options.. But matcha latte was spot on!!
One of the few places you know you can get a solid coffee. The food is pretty good too, we had multiple things which were all so tasty. Except the savory French toast which was a bit meh. Recommend keeping room for dessert! Service was a bit slow. Had to wait an hour to get our food
Amazing coffee and wonderful host! Surprised to find a spot in Colombo that nails their espresso beverages and single origin/estate coffees! Tasty savory and sweet treats, but the coffee is the main attraction. Nims barista experience, wealth of knowledge and passion shines through. Its too bad I visited at the end of my trip. Will be back early and often on my return!
Nice and cozy place. Excellent food and services. Late was so fresh and tasty .
I finally found a place that makes an amazing cup of coffee on Colombo with a knowledgeable barista. Their chocolate cookies are fantastic.. I bought extra to take home.Keep up the excellent work and all the best
Probably the best coffee shop for aficionado. Nimeshan is the guy for all things coffee
Fabulous coffee, I like the concept that they periodically have a different type of coffee from all over the world, always one strong, one light. It definitely makes me want to come back and try more. The service was very friendly and the staff is knowledgeable of the products the sell. I cant wait to try more!
My latest discovery of decent coffee in this big city. It takes a bit road travel from downtown but totally worth it. Nim the owner is absolutely passionate about coffee and you can tell this from every cup he presents.Menu is quite simple because you can ask for any kind of coffee that suits your taste off the paper. Do try with imagination.
Kopi Kade Cafe is the best and only specialty cafe in Colombo for serious coffee aficionados. Nimeshan and his team service provides top class services to all of his clients without any discrimination which is very respectable and most importantly his barista skills are inimitable.
Such a lovely place very relaxed and friendly. Nimeshans passion for coffee really come through. He was kind enough to do a demo of a product we were thinking of buying. The coffee was divine and the expresso tart was wonderful. Had the mutton slider and that was great too just wish they had more than one slider per plate though. Overall a great experience. A must visit for coffee lovers.
We found this place on Instagram and was passing by Stratford avenue and decided to pop by the cafe. The host Nimesham was a cheerful bloke who greeted us and naratted to us about how he came about starting Kopi Kade. He recommended a few of the items on the menu to try. The coffee I reckon is the best in the country and totally worth it. We had the seeni-sambol bun with the prawn cutlets which were both juicy and tasty. Its a must visit if you are travelling in the country and looking for good coffee. Its also a good place to have business meetings. The staff are really helpful and always there to cater to any of your needs. #natnzin
While Sri Lanka is very well known for its tea, there are also some interesting coffee joints that must be tried. Kopi Kade is a small coffee shop on a rather innocent street in Colombo where you can find the best coffee and the matcha lattes in town. So for those who appreciate a good coffee, do try out Kopi Kade at No. 15/3, Stratford Avenue, Colombo 06.
I had a long black and a chocolate tart. The tart was stunning! The sweetness and bitterness were balanced and the taste of chocolate was true. The whipped cream brought out the taste and allowed me to enjoy it without feeling overwhelmed, as chocolate desserts often do. The coffee was excellent and brewed in the right temperature without scalding the coffee.
Their coffe is just great! The sri lankan iced coffe and cappuccino was really good!! But the chicken cutlets were not worth teh price. The service and staff was great and the shop has a great ambiance!
This is hands down the best coffee shop in town that I’ve had the luck of stumbling across. Love their food just as much as the coffee and especially their matcha lattes ! The owner has such a fine grasp and was a connoisseur of coffee. The ambience was great and some reviews are quite misleading when they complain about the ambience not being up to standard. There’s nothing “bland” or “empty” about the atmosphere as suggested by some reviews. It’s on par with the highest rated coffee shops in Colombo. Lovely staff and definitely a must-visit multiple times.
Their coffee was excellent. Taste, presentation, quantity and all were excellent. The pricing was reasonable too considering the location and the quality of their products. And the staff is brilliant too.The only reason why Im giving this place 4 stars and not 5 is because the ambiance is not really up to the standards, I feel. The place feels very bland and empty. I also saw a few cracks on the wall where literally the bricks inside were visible. So maybe improve that side a bit?!
Loved this place. Coffee was really good. Nice ambience. Quite pricey though.
Coffee gentry, delicious menu, all in flavours and textures. Such a treat.
Went to Kopi Kade this morning with five others from Melbourne, coffee was on point - single origin, flat whites and filter. As a former world judge (9 yearsthis was by far the best I have had whilst being away from Melbourne.Nim, really well done and just love what you are doing both with your coffee and your sustainability program, you have a gift !
Quite simply the best coffee in town.
The absolute best cup of coffee in the city. After describing to the owner what kind of coffee I enjoy, he made a recommendation and it was exactly spot on. Good service and a really nice interior.
If you are a real die-hard coffee lover - this place should be in your list. Especially if you really know what good coffee is. They have decent specialty options as far as espresso for single origin beans, like pour over, aeropress. The bites they offer are also decent. Dont expect big fulling portions - this place is not about full your stomach, its about satisfy your receptors. Also nice local art in design and friendly owner to talk to are the subjects to enjoy this place.
Id only go if you felt like your knowledge on coffee was above average and as long as you dont ask for your coffee to be reheated. I was made to feel like a burden for wanting my drink to be warmed up at a temperature most people would like.Nice ambience however, just feel like they could work on their customer service. For this reason, not sure Id go back.
One of the best coffee shops in Sri Lanka. Dont come here looking for nescafe, or sugary drinks. This is real barista style coffee of the finest quality. They also have good food and some hot teas.
Very friendly owner. Good coffee. Excellent mutton kofta.
Serves the best coffee in Sri Lanka! A must visit if you’re a coffee lover! They also serve good matcha tea latte! With other tea options & good food! 😍💯
Nice ambience. After long time had enjoyed coffee with its aroma. The owner brewed a Brazilian coffee and made a cappuccino. 👌👌. Smiling faces, friendly ambience, fast WiFi, excellent bites 👍.
Nimesan is not just a good Barista but has created a space and branding that continued to go beyond the barriers of exploring the coffee trade and set of coffee making. A space thats created for both the coffee lover and a place I love hanging out in peace to do some of work sipping on some amazing coffee. His food menu may seem very limited but its the fine pickings created with amazing culinary skills to give that pallet something different and unique and the best experience of Kopi Kadé is that, Nimesan brews each cup himself, weighed, grounded and brewed with a unique blend with much consistency. Yet another space I love calling my home away from home. Wishing you all the best mate. Look forward to the cold drip selection soon"The One & Only Clickmeister"
The coffee here is on a different level to most cafes in Colombo. If you are interested in speciality coffee and drink coffee for more than the buzz, this place will blow you away. The environment is very well kept and you can tell that the owners passion lie within the business. He will tell you the bio of every blend they currently have.
Cozy and chic coffee shop. Definitely recommend the Sri Lankan Iced Coffee and French Toast
A great coffee shop. Loved the food and the coffee. Serves good desserts as well. Frankly, I found the food and desserts to be extremely flavorful, though the portions are a bit small. Great service and the owner is very friendly and chatty. Parking can be an issue, as spaces are limited. I am sure to visit it again and would definitely recommend this place.
Its a nice cozy place for a quick coffee or a meal. Prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly.
By far the best coffee experience Ive had in Colombo (and probably any other city Ive lived in or visited). Delicious modern Sri Lankan food served in a beautifully designed space by friendly, knowledgeable staff. A must visit!
Without a doubt the best coffee in the country. Nim, the owner knows his stuff and continues to blow my mind with a new coffee every time I come here. Beautiful minimalist interior and the food is fantastic, too.
One of my favorite coffee houses in the world. Excellent care taken in their pour overs. Only serve fresh beans. Will even teach classes on request. Excellent finger foods as well.
Perfect place if you want to drink an amazing coffee! I recommend it!
No wifi, good to tune out so as to tune in... Awesome flavours, awesome bites.
Nice and UniqueThis is a nice restaurant /coffee place. Love their unique menu. The good thing about their menu is that they got small portions for reasonable prices, so you do not have to worry about ordering something you dont like and not being able to order something else due to price factor. The prawn slider was delicious ... and the hot chocolate was amazing . That hot chocolate was just like the one i had in Italy. I have never ever had such a delicious hot chocolate in Colombo ever.Te placr is very spacious, comfortable and clean. You can spend ample time . The service was great. Eas access from public transport too. There is ample parking for private vehicles tooAverage menu price 450 - 800 per dish... there were few.large meals for about 1,100-1,500.
Coffee was nice. Rice pudding was tasty but quite small portion. Professional staff.Interior design is nice but a bit empty. The prices are very high (550 Rp for capuccino/flat whitebut standard for this type of place in Sri Lanka. However its ridiculous that the coffee is more expensive than in Europe.
Cozy place with a very pleasant ambience. Its very conveniently located right off high level and surprisingly quite and peaceful given the busy location. The owner is very friendly. Unfortunately I only went there for coffee with a friend so cannot comment on the food, but the menu looked very interesting. Their coffee is great ! Highly appreciate what they are doing to support local upcoming artists by showcasing their work for zero commission. Very impressed by that and will definitely return soon to check out the amazing menu. Keep up the great work.
Excellent Jaffna-style coffee shop built to a western standard. They make an excellent dark chocolate mocha, low sugar but tasteful. The food is just as good, featuring a range of affordable Jaffna cuisine. The owner is a Tamil Australian who opened the joint less than a year ago.
Love the ambience very quit and relaxing. And portions are very small and very tasty. Idea is to sell more portion. Love the prawn cutlet and the mutton slider. Bit pricy but worth every penny you spent there. They are more of snack kind of place. Couldnt try their coffees.
Top notch coffee ☕ served with a personal touch of kindness and for sure making me feel at home. The dessert, was a small thing with a surprime touch of modern locality. Uhmm hmm will go back tomorrow for another dessert and bring a friend.
Best coffee in Colombo! Its real, authentic coffee and by that I mean its not doused in milk and tastes like bean water. Great ambience, great space and the owner is extremely friendly and he knows his coffee. Its everything an authentic coffeeshop should be!
Quiet, well laid out coffee shop with made to order food. Really superb hot choclate, I had the 70% dark a French bean according to the very knowledgeable owner. We also had a really fabulous Banana Mousse, dreamy, creamy, crunchy and absolutely divine. The piece de resistance though was the double Ethiopian coffee which was absolutely fantastic! Amazing single origin coffees with a very knowledgeable and erudite coffee sommelier owner. A tad bit expensive but worth every paisa.
Really good place. Fusion style Lankan food. Mainly small portions so that you can order a few different things and experience a mini tasting style menu. The sliders, roti crisps, the coffee and hot chocolate are just a few of the winners. Comfortable place and quiet with good music. Service is not bad either :)
