Konnubio - Restaurant in Florence, Italy
Really nice place serving upscale Tuscan food. The chef is creative, we had the "Land" tasting menu and were very pleased with most of the dishes. A misstep here and there with the table service but nothing to write home about. Really nice atmosphere and its clear theyre going for a high-end dining experience. Theyre in the Michelin guide and may be on their way to a star.
We were staying at the Residenza DEpoca La Basilica and they gave us tickets for breakfast at the Konnubio. it was a delicate choice as it is on the ground-floor of the building, the restaurant is very nice with very polite and friendly staff. Breakfast quality was very good and pastries were fantastic,
It’s was good! However…We sat down and got a bottle of water first of all.. and it had a lipstick stain. The food was just a bit confusing for our taste. It was described a bit differently and if I would have known exactly what I am getting I wouldn’t have ordered the tasting menu, rather just some dishes separately. The starter with the liver pate was REALLY great! The square pasta with the lamb ragu… not so much. The waiters are really kind and the selection of wine is AMAZING !If you’re going - just go for whatever you want and don’t go for the tasting menu ..
Antique and fancy,Delicious and affordable breakfast.
One of our dishes smelled quite literally like rotting trash and fruits, the other however was completely bland and starchy. I am not picky about food, I eat basically anything and everything however the food here was just plain inedible, especially at this price-point. The staff were friendly and helping, but sadly I came to eat, not to be chummy with waiters.
Great location with a creative modern cooking inspiration. Lovely service. Worth to visit when you are in Firenze. I would think it is a must have:-)
Had very high hopes for this restaurant as it was recommended by the Michelin Guide. The staff was great, the interior and decoration very elegant. The concept of the dishes was very creative but the execution was not the best.
Great atmosphere. Very laid back. Great breakfast buffet selection
It is one of those places that you are excited for due to the recognition but than falls completely flat. Possibly riding off of their own hype. The food was underwhelming flavors camouflaged underneath disguising presentation. Add in that the service was not only non-existent but also rude at times, we were left wondering why this place has won any awards. When we asked for wine suggestions the sommelier responded with the location of the wine. He did not mention if it was dry or sweet, what dish it paired with, or anything else remotely helpful. What made it even more off putting was that he walked outside several times to speak with his friends. We had the gazpacho, gnocchi, purple fusilli, and steak. The gazpacho was average, the display was nice, but the flavor was one note. I had better at a cooking class, granted it was in Spain so maybe their cook had a better understanding of the dish. The purple fusilli was flavorless bland and uninteresting. The purple coloring was due to the addition of beets, which was only tasted due to the slices on top. What made it stranger was the random pieces of uncooked chard on top that had no continuity with the dish. The steak was average, which was very disappointing. The description sounded so great, but what came out was nothing better than your local steakhouse offering. That all said, the gnocchi was delicious and if you do go I would definitely recommend. Easy to say we were disappointed. If you are looking for a place to eat, please look into locale which is so much better in terms of food, service, and experience.
I was lucky to get a table as a walk-in by going as it opened. We opted for The Sea tasting menu and every dish was expertly plated and delicious. Staff was attentive without being overbearing. Overall a wonderful experience
Outstanding food, including vegan options. Best seitan Ive ever had. Huge wine list.
Top Michelin star that had excellent service and friendliest staff. The prices are very descent compared to any Michelin star in New York. They have an excellent wine list that pairs perfectly with the dishes served.
Wonderful and creative food in elegant but not stiff atmosphere. Excellent service and great wine selection. After my first visit in 2015 (for lunchI finally managed to come back for a tasting menu. The food quality improved even more and the plates or lets say rather food compositions got more creative and refined. Service was impeccable and efficient. We spent a really pleasant evening for our wedding anniversary here and definitely want to come back to enjoy more of it.
Bar in the courtyard is amazing. Drinks extraordinary; probably the most creative I’ve seen. Music is the proverbial cherry on the cake…. And they only opened two days ago. Visit. This. Bar.
The service and food were great!
The restaurant is nice and they have really good attention. The problem appears when you see the 6-consecutive-years award or the two Michelin stars and build up some false expectations. The food is average at best and is based around rare ingredients and decoration more than final flavor of the plate.I normally like places with good food but this one simply did not work for me.There are certain things that one would expect from meals of such price, but this place did not offer them.Despite what I said above, I have to recognize the attention from the waiters, which were really nice and brought their "selection of breads" and regional desserts during the meal, which helped a little with the overall experience.
Servers were pretty kind and food was good. Even though they dont have tomato based primi, they added it for me. Also indside of the restaurant was super cool!
Very good food and nice atmosphere!
The lunch menu was decent, we enjoyed the bread and the dessert. Do not recommend the flavors of the garden noodles, it tasted like warm grass.
Good service and good, for 90 euros and 2 glass of wine is acceptable
Tasty delcioues food, I enjoyed the tortilleni, loved the tiramisu, outstanding!Highly recommended
Fantastic food. This is a proper menu created by a real chef. Excellent vegan options, very accommodating for picky children. Highly recommend!
Took the sea menu with wine pairings. It was tasty and interesting! The menu dessert was one ofThe best desserts I’ve ever tasted! Need to visit again for the beef menu.
Konnubios Michelin acknowledged menu speaks for itself. The entrées are creative, delicious, and very well presented. The bread platter given at the beginning of the meal had some of the best bread Ive ever eaten. The wine menu is well crafted and paired well with dinner. Staff is helpful, friendly, and attentive. I can wait to return!
Romantic atmosphere, excellent cuisine and fantastic wine. Their amuse bouchée was tantalizing, rack of lamb tender and taste. We had a few other first and second courses…all exceptional. They were very accommodating and made room for us even tough they were fully booked. This was by far one of my favorite restaurants we why you in Florence!! Enjoy ..Konnubial felicity!
Went here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night after just walking by the place. It is so beautiful and lovely and well decorated for Christmas. The portion sizes are a bit small, but such is fine dinning. I would come again if it were a birthday or special occasion maybe not for the regular Tuesday night.Honestly not too expensive, dinner for two with a bottle of wine was about ~100€.The food was really creative, enjoyable to eat, and well plated. It did not have any particular Italian flare to it though so if that’s what you’re looking for best to go someplace else.
I’ve loved this restaurant before Covid but this time it was quite disappointing with its food quality. Service seemed upgraded but the octopus dish.. it is a very easy dish but I couldn’t get any flavor from two sauces. Octopus itself was tender and good. Side vegetables were also too plain. And the coda fish…the same problem with the main component. Artichoke was very perceivable and nice but fish wasn’t seasoned well. You could do better.
Nice atmosphere, and good food. Ideal for date night due to atmosphere and wines, or if you want to taste modern Italian cuisine. We did go for the Florentine steak, and it was cooked as we asked so +1 for that. Be mindful with the first courses, as they are a bit complex and not very well described in the menu. Overall a good place but not thrilled with any of the dishes unfortunately. The deserts were tasty but didn’t excite me.
The Nice cosy atmosphere. Friendly English speaking staff. Modern Italian cuisine with a touch of creativity. The tartar de beaf was amazing, a little bit small but amazing. The monk fish was very good with excellent presentation. Thank you cheff.
Good quality food and well presented in a lovely quiet atmosphere. Would like some light music. Food was very good but not any remarkable flavours.
Best meal in our trip to Italy. Stunning flavors and attention to detail. Thank you for the amazing dinner!
We had an amazing dinner in this restaurant. The interiors are very cozy and welcoming with nice music giving a relaxed vibe. The food was well prepared and we were served kindly , although we arrived pretty late.
Amazing place. The atmosphere is really cosy, the food original, yet efficient. The wine list is really interesting and the sommelier has great advice. The service was amazing as well. This is to a trattoria, what bistronomie is to French bistrot. Traditional background with a modern complexity to it. Trattorinomia ?The vegan options are also thought through and delicious, which is a plus !Great experience for dinner in Florence.
One of the best restaurants Ive experienced in Florence. The place is really great looking, food is well served, precisely cooked and theres no wrong note in the presentation.Well definitely come back!
Amazing experience! Saw they had a 2020 Michelin Star ⭐️ and had to try. My husband had the Lobster Gnocchi and I had their Lamb and it was it delicious!!! Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area.
Cozy place with stylish decor and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet has got good diversity, some local produce and assortment of Italian pastries.I would definitely recommend for a nice breakfast to start the day.
I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. The service is excellent and the servers are very attentive. The food is amazing and mouthwatering! Vegans and coeliacs are catered for without a problem. A gem of a place, worth visiting!
We were told of this place from a local person and it definitely lived up to our high expectation. Excellent food and service, highly recommended.
Konnubio hosted our wedding dinner in their back room, a perfect setting for our group of 25 people. They offered a specialized menu: crunchy beef tartare, marinated zucchini and parcley pesto, ricotta cheese flan, homemade tortelli with veal stew, rack of lamb, chocolate parfait and a wedding millefoglie. The menu was divine and our friends couldnt stop gushing about the food. The restaurant itself also has a charming atmosphere with low candle light and a fantastic, attentive and friendly staff. Stefano at Konnubio was very helpful in the weeks leading up to the dinner. Konnubio is a must stop if youre visiting Florence.
Nice restaurant and friendly staff. We decided to skip the meat for lunch on this occasion. Stand out for me is the flan, which was delicate and subtle (in a good way)in flavour. Dessert was a bit of a miss however. The tirimasu was of the deconstructed type, and didnt really work.
Elegant cozy place with super delicious food and romantic ambiance. Their almost 2 lb steak cooked to perfection with roasted potatoes is an experience to remember. Affordable and close to Piazza di San Lorenzo for an evening that will last for a lifetime.
One of the best meals we ate in Italy. All dishes were exceptional, with fabulous presentation, and friendly staff who were more than happy to explain the menu in English. Would definitely return when I am next in Florence.
This place is amazing, very nice atmosphere, a lot of vegan or vegetarian options. Im vegan and the staff was very helpful and we had there dishes with tofu and seitan ( check out the pictures).
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food looks great but for the price it just lacks in taste. Enjoyed the night but wouldnt go back. Huge selection of wines start around 20 euros but for a good wine you would be looking around the 50 euros +. If you want something from the bar other than wine, be prepared to wait, as their drinks are ordered from their bar next door, if its busy, you wait. Our fish arrived but our waitress said it was under cooked, so took it back to finish it off.
Nice experience, not.very expensive, the staff very very friendly, attentive and nice.All.the dishes I tried are good. Portions were not big
We tried the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings and this was easily our favorite dining experience in Italy. From the helpful staff to the contemporary twists on traditional Tuscan dishes, this restaurant is top-notch!
Had a delicious aperitif in the recently opened bar in the courtyard, right next to the restaurant. Can highly recommend. Calm place in the midst of the busy Florence city center. Good drinks, nice snacks and great atmosphere. Also visited the restaurant 1,5 years ago in January. The service is quite okay and the wines are good, the decor and feeling of the restaurant is nice, however, the food is nothing spectacular.
In terms of food quality, its more good homestyle cooking than cutting edge which I initially percieved the place to be. The whole menu can be served in half portions at similar half the price; the portions for whole dishes are gigantic so if you happen to be with someone you can just order one dish and youd be set. For one person stick to half portions. Value wise pretty good, worth trying out if the area.
Great quality food. Best thing is they have half portions around 6euros for mains - which is actually sufficient for a small eater like me! They did a fantastic veal shank, but the carbonara was quite bland
It would be crazy to not give this place 5 stars! The food is so delicious and the staffs are very very kind! I have read other reviews before going to the restaurant and read reviews that said this place has high prices. I found out that the price is just right considering the amazing service and quality of the food. If you are in Florence and looking for a great place to dine, this is the place you are looking for! Love from Korea!😄👍👍👍🇰🇷
