295 N 170th St, Omaha, NE 68118, United States, Omaha
Sleek chain with a broad New American menu including low-calorie options, plus sushi & cocktails.
The food was excellent my guest and I ordered dinner. My guest wanted sushi and wanted a catapillar which was there favorite and the waited went above and beyond to accommodate the request after asking the Sushi maker. My guest was very pleased! I was so happy She did that for us. Thank you!
Casey and Jackson were awesome waiters. They were very helpful and nice, they checked up on us and made sure we felt comfortable. I hope to have them again as my servers
Kasey and Jackson were great servers they helped so much and were so nice. They were always checking on us. They were very helpful and patient with us. I hope to have them again as our servers. They made our trip to Kona a great one.
Came in the other weekend with a friend of mine. Food was good but there was a taller man (who I presume was a manager because he was wearing a suitwho gave me and my friend an unsettling feeling he stood in the dining room on his phone which took away from our fine dining experience. The waitress was amazing and recommended a few good dishes. My burger was cooked perfectly and my friends food made her smile for the first time in a month.
This is absolutely THEE BEST happy hour and reverse happy hour in Omaha! The food is always amazing, the environment is very chill, the staff is always courteous, and the happy hour pricing and options are right on point. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
Amanda did a great job! It was a busy night, but she was cheerful and attentive to our table. We would definitely ask for her next time we were in.
Naomi was our server. She was very amazing and made sure our first visit was nice. Honest and suggested great menu items. And was very kind with our specifications and food request and ensured that our food was to our liking and amidst being busy she had very nice conversation. If I had the power I would promote her TODAY!
Went here for date night and had Amanda as our server. Such amazing service which is why we keep coming back! Food came out fast and the best steak we’ve had! Definitely recommend!
We had a great time! Ordered the Korean 5-spice ribs and the cilantro lime chicken. Both were delicious and provides promptly! Amanda did a great job serving us!
Kody by far makes this restaurant experience top tier. He has an amazing attitude and makes the guests feel warm and welcome. He was so friendly and funny and made it more than just a regular dinner.
WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO DELETE MY POST....BECAUSE ITS TRUE!! PLEASE READ!!A friend and I went here for lunch on Labor Day. The only KUDOS I will give is to the Chefs. Food was actually correct once they brought us the correct food! From the beginning we were sat in the bar area where the tile floor was sticky and the smell was not of food like it should be, but of spilled beverages, mildew and just plain mustiness! If youve ever worked food service then you know this smell. Were sat at pre-set STICKY table. So sticky that the paper menus were sticking to it. If youve ever sat in this area then you know that some of the windows open, which was fine because it was a nice day but the FLY ISSUE was absolutely HORRENDOUS!! When we mentioned it to our waiter, he nonchalantly just ignored it. We had also mentioned it to the hostess and again...nothing! We ordered our food and apps. About 15-20 minutes later food was delivered to our table by the manager but it was NOT OURS! We had not even got our apps yet. The food was then delivered to another table and it was not theirs either! Before the blonde manager left our table I mentioned to her as well that the FLY situation was HORRIBLE!! The whole time I talked she looked at me with a blank stare! Her response was and I quote " They have been BUG BOMBING for the last couple weeks and trying to take care of the problem". Obviously "BUG BOMBING" is not doing the trick because we swatted FLIES the entire time there! I think it may be time for another alternative to get rid of these pesky bugs...like hiring a cleaning crew to come and do a deep clean! This restaurant definitely needs some HELP and a DEEP CLEANING!! Please beware of the FLIES!!

If I could give 0 out of 5 stars for my dining experience tonight I would. It took over an hour to get our food when it normally takes 15 minutes. Our server ignored us the entire time and never explained, apologized, or even came back to refill our drinks once during that hour. Honestly we thought our server walked out. When we finally got our food it was all cold and we never saw a manager. I’m normally very pleased with Kona but I don’t know if I would go again after my experience tonight.
Kona used to be impressive. Not any more. They recently raised prices significantly, and cancelled Happy Hour on Sunday. They used to be packed during Sunday Happy Hour and it was fun. Now it’s mostly empty. Sad. Regarding prices, for example, a bowl of miso soup is now $12. I usually don’t even look at prices on a menu, but that’s just exorbitant. Pretty much everything is overpriced now. I think they doubled many of the prices. Again…sad. Used to love this place.
Kona has definitely taken a nose dive. It is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. I’ve been coming here for years, and always had a great time. Consistently good service and usually good food. Now they raised the prices and the food just is not worth the price. And no happy hour on Sunday?! Used to love that. It was almost empty when I was there today. That’s too bad. They had a good thing going.
The food quality have gone down by soo much the past few times i went here. The macadamia chicken was so dry, and tasteless, the mashed potToes were terrible, i cannot stress how bad everything was here. They have raised the price by $10-15 on everything on the menu yes the food quality is still terrible
The salmon is great! What made my dining experience 5 stars was our waitress Naomi, she was kind, personable, quick, and helpful. I highly recommend her if you’re planning on dining at Kona in Village Pointe.
Heather is a wonderful server- very kind and bubbly. I love coming here and she had a 5 star customer service review. The kindness shined through her
Naomi is a great waitress. Very personable and kind. She made eating at Kona Grill an absolute pleasure. Two thumbs up.
Great service all around! They made sure the environment was welcoming and warm. I loved every moment of my dinner there, thank you for the amazing servers, and even the generous bus boy.
Stopped in recently for a quick lunch while shopping. 100 degree … not seating in the dining room only in the patio with all the doors open. Visible garbage on the floors, clearly not clean or had been cleaned in some time. Pervasive Oder of garbage, the table and chairs sticky with old food stuck on the surfaces. Walked back out before they could bring our water. This is my second sub par experience at Kona. I will NOT be back for a 3rd.
Me and my fiancé went to Kona for date night on a recommendation as we’d never heard of or ever been. Our server Ashley was more than accommodating, patient, understanding and helpful to say the least AMAZING! Due to her service alone we will return! She went above and beyond asking about allergies to continuous help with questions and service! The manager even took time out to stop at a few tables assist and help when he could! I even ordered the shrimp tacos, trying something new she went so far as to have them remade when they were to spicy to my liking! Great food! Exceptional service and peaceful atmosphere!! We will be back!
Cade was an amazing waiter and makes epic cocktails! Extremely professional truly went above and beyond. Happy hour food was amazing especially the fish tacos!
Just ok this time. We came in for happy hour, seemed like they were short staffed so had a bit of a wait. We had the sliders, bbq chicken pizza, crunchy crab roll, pot stickers, and chicken lettuce wraps. Sliders were cooked to various doneness and tasted weird (not bad, just not a good flavor combo), salad wrap filling very salty, crab roll was forgotten at the sushi counter for about 15 mins. Potstickers and bbq chicken were good. Well probably try again someday.
Very pleasant staff. Drink prices range from $13-$15 which is ridiculous for Kona. No wonder the place had 2 people in the bar on a Saturday.
Madisyn is the best! She was so much fun and helpful. We had a great date night. The food was delicious too! The Mac and cheese is so tasty. Got a lil kick to it too. I love this place and will be back! Thank you!
This is my first time coming in. I sat at the bar and Sadie was my bartender. She was amazing. Great personality and super friendly. Can’t wait to come back and have her serve me again.
I certainly understand that costs have gone up, but $20 for a below-average sushi roll is absurd. The shrimp tempura was burned to the point that I couldnt eat it. The seabass slider appetizer was comically bad -- $19 for what was basically the equivalent of a single Hawaiian dinner roll cut into two pieces with an ounce of "fish" and covered in some mayo sauce. The only reason this spot earns two stars is because my daughters kids meal actually had coconut shrimp that was probably better than anything else on the table.
Special thank you to the Kona Grill team for letting us try out the “Daybreak Sandwich” and the “Apple Fritters” AMAZING!!!!! The “Daybreak Sandwich” is probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! Thanks again, Kona Grill Team.•from your friends at Home2 Suites by Hilton Omaha West
Pepsi ick, otherwise great bar man who gave excellent service. Food was awesome. A definite place to return to.
Our dinner at Kona was fantastic and the service was excellent. In fact, out server, Grace, was the best server we have had in years. She was very accommodating to my daughter’s food allergy and made every effort to make our dinner enjoyable.
The server was great but everything was a little slower due to obviously being understaffed. Low score is for the value of the food. The prices are way too high compared to other local restaurants and they went from having an amazing happy hour to scaling it back to no weekend happy hours at all. I do not visit as much as I use to because of this. Do not see them lasting much longer with those prices. $17+ appetizers. Yikes!
We went in for Mother’s Day. They gave away our reservation to someone else. Very little refills. Waited for over an hour. We were missing almost all of our meals, which were soggy and cold. We were then asked by a waitress if we wanted our bill regardless of food not being present. We were forced to itemize our bill and change the amount due. No manager present with young waitresses and cooks who had no direction. Waitresses were nice though. Therefore I do not recommend eating here.
The workers were incredibly nice and helpful, however the food quantity and quality wise was not up to par with the prices. Their rolls only came with about 6 per dish each being 20 dollars. That would be fine if the quality of the rolls was superb, unfortunately it was not, the fried one was soggy and the other one was coated in some sort of juice. Because of this I do not recommend eating here.
Food came quick. Sushi was good. I didnt like the actual lit candle, seems like it can lead to accidents. I got chicken lemon skewer things. They went a little heavy on the greens which didnt taste good to me. The chicken and rice part was really good. I definitely enjoy kona grill in October. Definitely recommend going in October. Best spooky place to eat at
Stopped in for a later than normal supper after our sons school musical. He had the kids bento box with double edamame side. I had sushi and salad which was the perfect amount of food while the hubs had poke bowl. Son finished his meal with brownie covered in icecream for an additional $1. Our server was friendly and quick on her feet.
Business lunch. I opted for the checkerboard. It was delicious!! Exceptionally created and very tasty. I was very disappointed that I received no Wasabi or Ginger. Otherwise....great meal
Amazing place! Oriental inclined cuisine. I definitely loved this place.Amazing service provided by the staff but specially TJ who went above and beyond to offer the best experience.
This rating is for their brunch, not their dinners. Weve been there for dinner and cocktails many times, and it is always excellent. This time, however, we went there for Sunday brunch, and were excited to after seeing the menu online. The brunch menu was definitely one of the more expensive brunch menus we have seen, as we go out for Sunday brunch regularly, so we were expecting the food to reflect the price.I had the steak and eggs, in which the steak was a little overcooked, and the over easy eggs requested were more over hard. We also had an omelet, and the eggs benedict with crab, both which were very underwhelming for the price we paid. The food overall was good, but not as good as other places that we go which are also 25% less. The $4 different flavored mimosas were wonderful, but took 15+ minutes to get to the table after ordering. Awesome atmosphere and friendly service as always. We will definitely be back, just not for brunch.
Been there twice. The food is amazing, my wife and I both had their poke bowl and it was great, some of the best I have had and this is coming from someone who grew up on the coast eating great seafood. The service was exceptional, our servers name was Emily and I cant speak highly enough of her. She was friendly and professional, she made the meal better. If you are in the area go there you will not be disappointed. 10 stars all the way.
This restaurant is the best place to go hands down the food is amazing the staff is so friendly I definitely loved our waitress Barb she was so nice and thoughtful and the desert she recommended was so delicious would definitely come back again just make sure to make a reservation
It was Friday evening, Id say around 7ish so walking in the hostess let me know that it would be about a 25 minute wait which was understandable. Surprisingly enough the wait time was actually shorter. Once we were seated our waitress was amazing. She was super friendly and made sure we understood the menu and even made some suggestions to make our dining experience better. We started with the margarita flight which came recommended from our waitress and it was good. A tad bit on the sweeter side however, they definitely packed a punch for how small they were. I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare with a side of mashed potatoes and I even had the surf and turf upcharge to add a shrimp and lobster roll on the side. My dish alone was about $40. When my steak arrived it came with some green beans that were undercooked & bland. Thinking my potatoes were probably still being whipped up I decided to try my steak. As I was cutting into the steak, it felt like I was trying to cut into a leather shoe. For whatever reason my steak was super tough and I dont see how you manage to do so with a ribeye cut. To no surprise when I checked the middle it was cooked about medium well. To add insult to injury the steak was as bland as the color beige. I just dont understand how you miss all three categories on a $32 ribeye steak. The shrimp and lobster roll was actually not bad. My girlfriend ordered the shrimp pad Thai and it tasted like straight dog food. You know when youre opening your dogs food and you smell it and your mouth can taste it? Yeah thats what that pad Thai tasted like. Between the tough, bland steak and dog food pad Thai with shrimp the size of dimes I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. Im actually upset thinking about how you have the audacity to serve this food and charge such high prices when you cant even properly season and cook a steak or make a simple pad Thai. The bill came out to $95.01 & I about made the waitress cry when I told her how awful the food was. The hostess and waitress were the only reason I gave this restaurant a 1 star. I also never got my mashed potatoes.
We visited on a Thursday night. Table service was slow and the bar was extremely slow. It took us 20 minutes to get our first order of drinks. The food arrived first. The waiter did comp the drinks, but set a bad start for dinner. The margarita flight was good. The steak was good, as well as sushi, but the various potatoes were plain.
Absolutely delicious! If you go, you need the avocado egg rolls for sure! I went for Thanksgiving and have no regrets. By all means ask for Maddy to be your server! She was SO good and made my meal alone the best!Virgin Pumpkin Spice Old Fashion DrinkAvocado Egg RollsMacadamia Nut Crusted Turkey Breast, Miso Mashed Potaoes, Sautéed Green Beans, Shoyu Cream Sauce, Ginger-Yuzu Infused Cranberry SauceHomemade Macadamia Nut Pie: Kahlua, Roasted Macadamia Nuts and Coconut Flakes with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Hot Green Tea
First time visiting; service was great and food was excellent! Ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. I would prefer the rolls be a tad smaller so it could be more of a one-bite, but it was delicious (Wave Roll). Opted out of the Island Butter as I felt like there were too many flavors once you added it (but luckily it comes on the side)
We ate at Kona the other night. We had an outstanding service from Rj. Food and drinks were really good. Will definitely come back, 100% recommend
Father’s Day called for a new restaurant…well done Dad! I played it safe and made an online table reservation (thanks Yelpand glad I did. They were fairly busy around 1 pm. We were seated immediately and greeted by our super friendly server. He opted for a beer while I went fancy with the servers recommendation: Patio Bubbles. It was very fruity with a tartness from the lemonade I’m guessing…either way it was really good. We went with calamari and spicy edamame. The calamari was tender, and the edamame was definitely angry. Wow very spicy but good! The boy’s went with a house salad and a kid’s bento box. Both loved their meals, and my youngest opted for the brownie sundae for an additional $1. My Sushi platter (can’t remember what I ordered nowwas flavorful. (I know it had lobster, shrimp, & avocado in it!. I definitely want to come back again!
We came here to celebrate our daughters 10th birthday. Amazing experience!!We could order from the Happy Hour menu as well. Jermaine our server was very professional, friendly, and very attentive. To talk about the food; as you can see in the pictures- the presentation was excellent and it tasted wonderful!![
Gathered for a drug rep dinner. Our server was Barb. She was amazing! Very attentive and helpful with the menu. Chef Tom came to the table and checked on our group and discussed a few allergen safe foods for a couple of us. Overall just a wonderful experience and so glad we had a private room because being healthcare workers we loved being able to social distance from crowds!
Barbara is the best waitresses. She had to go to the back so many times to help find food for my shellfish allergy. At the end of the meal she brought me a to go meal since I ended up not liking my first choice. If you ever come here ask for Barbara and she will make you feel like a million bucks (and she will read your mind by the end of the meal). -Kylee (15 yrs)
