Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway - Memorial park in Sydney, Australia
Kokoda track is very nice great place to ride your bike
A great place to commemorate the Kokoda track and all those who served there during WW2
A walk with historical significance in a pleasant environment. This Walkway is a memorial remembering the Kokoda Campaign in WW2. Located close to Rhodes Station.
Not pram friendly, Cafe not open
This is a nice place to spend a few Hours .Bbqs walk ways and a kokoda memorial on site.. great for the kids and a look around. There is a small kids play area and sensory garden on site and public toilets which appeared clean. Located along the great Parramatta River .Plenty of parking but most limited to two hours parking the gardens are very well maintained and beautiful.
Beautiful surroundings for a BBQ or picnic. Kids friendly.Great little walk with audio at every point.
This was a surprise when cycling to Yalara
Good shoes, good walk, great views. You wont be sorry!
Had a very pleasant walk. Also a great place to learn and appreciate what our armed forces had to endure. There are placards and recorded messages along the walkways.
Good walking tracks but no bicycles.
The walk was lovely and not too taxing. There were also interactive posts with information about the Kokoda trail. I loved how most of the walk was shaded and there plenty of benches to sit if you wanted to enjoy the scenery.
Poignant place. A reminder of a not so distant past, and a tribute to those who sacrificed everything for Australia and the people of Papua New Guinea.
Great place to take your children and go for a bushwalk!
This is one of Sydneys best tourist spots. I encourage all Australians to pay a visit here.
Excellent modern war memorial covering the Kokoda Track and the fight to stop the Imperial Japanese Army in New Guinea. The path through the gardens has informational plaques and historic pictures. The memorial itself is a tasteful granite water feature with a surround of pictures taken during the campaign and transferred into stone walls.
Its been a while since I worked out. There arent that many people, so the track is relaxing.
Lots of history and great nature relaxing park and there is parking for 3 hours
a very nice and relaxing walk in the nature. can be done with a pram. end up in a very nice place you should do it from start till end.
A beautiful place to walk and reflect and learn about an important part of our history.
Lovely landscaped garden with memorials from Kokoda track. Well worth a look.
The whole Area appears to have been upgraded and is a good place to spend a few hours. The Kokoda cafe near by is available for refreshments. However the walk itself is quite short but if you choose to follow it towards Concord it is on and off the foreshore on roads and through some parks. Needs further upgrading
Wonderful ww11 history and walks, great picnic area and also cafe and parking for 2 hours.
Great place to find out more about the Kokoda track or just to have a beautiful walk. Pleasant even on the hottest days with mostly shaded paths. There is a great picnic area, plenty of seats along the way, a Cafe and toilets. Highly recommended as enjoyable and educational. Also a nice walk to get from Rhodes station to Concord Hospital. An oasis in the middle of suburbia. M8888m8m
This is an excellent tribute to the people who fought during World War II. It only is it a good place to come and reflect, it’s also a good spot to enjoy the environment. The undercover picnic area is top class - it has two public BBQs. The walkway is brilliant. There is plenty of shade here. A cafe. Public toilets. Kids playground. Off-street and on-street parking. #Concord
It is serene and so interesting and the recorded information gives an insight to events. The walk would be easy for most people. The cafe is a great place for coffee and snacks plus the outdoor area is pet friendly. Altogether a wonderful place to visit.
Great walk with kids, its clean and educational for children
Very well maintained track. Short but long enough for little ones... Lions club installed motion activated audio and photo info re Kokoda war were great
This is just a beautiful place to visit during the day and stop for a picnic with BBQ facilities or at the great coffee shop. I found stopping at every spot moving and touching hearing all about the history. Great water views as well.
Great little memorial, you can enjoy the walk and learn about our history.
Not always easy to get a table, the food is great and the desserts are fantastic. The spirits are ok also. 🍸🍹
The track is very well kept and quite a nice walk just a few minutes from Rhodes train station. There are various boards around to educate you about the memorial.
You may stumble across the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway after a picnic at Bray’s Bay Reserve. It’s a lovely little walk that crosses a stream through a little wood, offering a cool respite from Sydney’s summer heat. Information panels along the way give some insight into the Kokoda Track Campaign, a series of battles fought between Australian and Japanese troops in Papua New Guinea during World War 2, which has been (somewhat confusinglymemorialized here. There’s a café along the way and it also passes nearby a community sensory garden that includes a tiny water and sand play spot that would be great for distracting tired toddlers.
It would be five stars if not for the speakers giving war factoids, which kind of spoil the feel.
One of the best walk inside the city.
Great place for a bbq. cheap to rent for the location. Fits 60 ppl easily.
Beautiful park
Cool walk , great exercise . Great memorial to our fallen .
Wonderful nostalgic walk down a momentous period in our Australian war history. As they say the Anzac engagement bonded us as a nation but the kokoda campaign saved our nation from a fate worse than death - occupation!
Very good park to see and enjoy relaxing and entertaining with your family and friends
Walking is one of my favourite activities. I was here the other day and made my first foray into the Kokoda Track Memorial. Much easier than the actual Kokoda, and this one has many interesting information boards about the war if you’re interested to learn. You can otherwise enjoy the waterside scenery.
The Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway is an invaluable asset to the community. Somewhere to stroll through, educate yourself about the sacrifices and achievements of the service men and women who were Australias *last line of defence* from the Japanese invasion during WW2.You cant help but be moved by the first hand accounts from the Tour Guides, most of whom are Kokoda veterans, still serving the community by educating over 80,000 visitors annually (I was astounded!).I can highly recommend a visit and hope we always have this beautiful place, where we can go to pay our respects.
Nice walk and parks, great playground.
Great place to take the kids for a little history lesson or even just a casual stroll.
Beautiful tribute in memory of those who fought for our country. Bbq facilities are clean and well maintained. Limited seating outside of the bbq area is the only downside.
Enjoyed the walk with my wife, a fitting tribute to the men and women who gave their lives to protect this country and to those who came back theres always a cafe that service great tea and coffee, ir doesnt open on Mondays
A good way to take a relaxing walk and consider the sacrifices made by these courageous people to make this country a safer happier place.
Great place. Lots of shade and amazing atmosphere by the river bank and the backdrop of mangroves is simply fascinating.
Was here for a picnic, booked the shelter which seats 48 ppl comfortably. Recently refurbished outdoor furniture a definite plus. Two electric BBQs available for use, and grounds generally well maintained.
Great place to walk or run! Beautiful old buildings to look at.
Last week I fell in love with four WW11 returned servicemen who helped repel the Japanese attack on New Guinea via the Kokoda Track. These four wonderful men and their surviving mates form a guiding party who took us on the journey that they had survived all those years ago. The Track at Concord is an inspiration to walk and to be told the history and the harrowing stories by the men who were there made it so much more interesting and informative. Congratulations to the RSL and the caretakers of this wonderful piece of history.
