American eatery known for burgers, plate lunches & sauteed mushrooms has a casual, basic space.
Same good ole Kohos. Nice to come back after being away for years to a family friendly place.Corner!
Better off eating at Hale Makua...
Really impressed with this place. It is priced fairly for the quality and quantity. Weve been in here several times. You can not go wrong with their burgers. Kids meals are also good. I really like the oriental salad (fish and chicken tend to be dry and without seasonings).
Food was gross waited over 30 min for a salad
Food was good for the price but the restaurant is dingy. Bathrooms were gross
Fantastic Drinks in a dark lounge.. Perfect service from Carol♡♡ Food yum. going back on THURSDAY
Delicious dinner my catch of the day with lemon & capers so yummy, and the potato skins with bacon and my Lava Flow so yummy also had a Long Island Ice Tea a bit strong but I had food in my tummy so I was pleased. 🥂🍹🤗
Small meals and over priced!!! Unfortunately Covid took the zest out of this place…So sad… been coming here for over 30 years.
Im giving Kohos a 2, because this restaurant was slowly declining, I guess the pandemic really threw folks off the edge here. Taking away my favorite dish: fish and chips to only limited availability on Fri. & Sat. Also I hear portions are smaller and quality has gone down. Im rating the food this time not our waitress which deserves a 6 for running the bar dining what looked like singlehandedly. I ordered the Ono plate. Which consists of one filet of grilled Ono fish on top of shredded lettuce bed, 2 scoop rice, 1 scoop stale macaroni salad, miracle whip trying to pass off as tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The fish was a bit tasteless and a tad bit dry.. tartar sauce sweet and nothing but miracle whip, the Mac salad was stale as if to be sitting out until lunchtime. Now be advised you think mmm Ono plate for 12.+ A waste order the lemon caper creme at least its a lil worth your buck with veggies and a creme to go with the fish. We finished with a dessert to pass off as a Oreo sundae better known as a Kilauea Snowball. At least they had my LEMONADE this time. The only reason we continue to tolerate these places is where else are we going to go? I mean this is Maui.
Been here awhile ago and seems like the quality and taste of the food has gone way down. I ordered just a teriyaki cheese burger that came with fries. Nothing special. My friend ordered a coke and when it was delivered, you could see through the glass it was flat. Had to wait awhile to request a new one as our waitress was busy. She later advised us that they changed it out.Service and food was okay. I know my next visit to Hawaii I wont have this restaurant as a stopping point.
Wish they would bring back the chicken sandwich and please offer pancakes for breakfast
One of the BEST long Island ice teas around. The bartender is so kind and sweet. The nachos are delish!
Carol is wonderful and the Rib pupu with frys is an absolute must.
It had a menu that I would describe as "comfort food with island influences". Honest meal for a reasonable price on the island.
This place is good. The food was tasty, but a bit pricy. Not sure I would return given that there are equally as good places for better value. But the service was awesome and the food was indeed tasty. My wife and I both cleaned our plates.
I expect that a popular establishment will be busy on a Friday, even in the middle of a Pandemic (or at least when pandemic restrictions are starting to liftbut as someone who has been dining in or takeout from Kohos for over 30 years, I was extremely disappointed by the service. I came in to place a takeout order and the hostess refused to assist or direct me. She is new... so I can expect the lack of info but there was no reason to be rude or her need to push me on the side or hurry me along because we werent dining in. After calling in the order, because we couldnt be assisted, we arrived 35 minutes later (they said it would be ready in 30). The bartender checked on our order and got our bill ready and tried to rectify the situation, but overall, it was a slow night and still people were waiting for their food. Im disappointed, especially since our bill was about $100 before tip. They need to do better.
Great local fare! The Loco moco is delicious. The service definitely warrants a return trip too. And I was there on a very busy day. I give these guys 5 🤙s. Ill see yall when I come back in October!
It was a good meal, service was a bit slow. But enjoyed my meal none the less.
Always a good time and friendly staff at Koho’s. Happy hour is great after pauhana, and the fajitas and nachos are always a go to. Carol is the best! 👍
We entered this restaurant questioning it but leaving it I have to say 10/10! This restaurant truly impressed us, we chose the daily special fish and it was the best fish I have had! I definitely recommend this place to any travelers!
I was so disappointed with the way they handled my problem today. I ordered a Li hing mui margarita and it came with a cockaroach inside so I told the waitress and they came back with a new one but if it was good service they would have taken it off the bill. It must happen a lot because it didnt even phase them. They werent even apologetic. I hate to leave a bad review but they have to do better
We didnt have to wait more than 10 min. We had the mushroom burgers they were good. The server was friendly and fast and the manager was actually helping everyone out. That was really nice to see!
Sub par food, poorly mixed drinks. If you arent from where Mexican food is a staple and you know how it should be you are probably be alright. If you know Mexican food, youll be disappointed. Service was very good though. Nachos are a weak imitation and small, not worth $15 even in Maui.
Nasty food, slow, burger says medium but was over cooked. Bread on burger was hard enough to knock on. The mushroom sour sauce on the chicken was the worst looking and tasting sauce I ever tasted. The drinks were juice. The steak was mostly fat. The server was very attentive, accommodating and friendly
Good Service. Breakfast menu was limited. I was looking for omelette or corned beef hash or Pancakes/waffles. Did see it on the menu provided, but I did not ask.
Jillian our waitress was awesome. Totally awesome service. Jillian has a welcoming smile. Totally pleasant. Thank you for your amazing service. And to the others that helped thank you very much. Tonights service was again amazingly amazing.
Ordered wings and fries. They tasted good yet the wing portions were small (6wings). Fries were crisp. Service was good.
The food took super long to come out. It took about an hour to get our food and it was cold. Service sucked. We kept on having to ask for refills on our drinks. At one point our server was nowhere to be found and I had to help myself to the papertowels that was left on the table since we didnt have enough napkins.
Burgers (both mushroom and baconwere really dry. Top bun was toasted too much almost as hard as burnt toast.too crispy. Fries were cold when I received them. Had the snowball for desert and the ice cream wasnt very fried. Just topped with too much honey and barely any cinnamon sugar. Food wasnt that great.but the waitress was super friendly and welcoming. She is the only reason this rating is not a one star. She always checked up on me and my bf and did it in a way where it did not ruin the romantic mood. <3
This was the worst place I had ever eaten. I wanted to see my family after the airport not knowing my meal would take an hour to be prepared (not including wait time, being sat, and the time it took to eat). Hey, if food took that long it should be sooooo good. NOT! I loveeeed paying for boxed nasty mashed potatoes, honey fried chicken that was literally cold regular fried chicken. My friends daughter had boxed Mac n cheese. Her steak was the cheapest cut of meat Id ever seen. It was so tough I couldnt even stick my fork in it to pick the meat up. There were no spots tender enough for my fork to even go through the meat LOL. I chose to eat at Kohos to avoid a 20 minute wait at Ramen-ya. I regret that. I wouldve waited double that for Ramen-ya looking back <3. Istill tipped 20%. I felt bad the server had to keep telling me the same thing over and over about "the food coming out soon." Please give your workers a place they can be proud to work at. :)
We had a party of 4. It was about 345 when we got here and there was about 5 other tables in the resturant. Our waitress was amazing but out food came out at different times and we ordered 3 burgers. Go figure. The first 2 plates had maybe 10 french fries while our last burger came out with a mountain and 10mins later. Im definitely not letting my son choose this place again.
Ambience and atmosphere both nice. Food was delicious, with decent portion sizing. Dessert super tasty. Only issue I had was it was a bit crowded when I went so the wait was long. Maybe 45 minutes.
Had the Teri beef plate for lunch. Although it was busy, our waitress was kind enough to let us know, and still delivered in a short amount of time. Theyll be serving Thanksgiving meals from 11am till their out so see you there!
The host wasnt as friendly as the servers. Shes the front of the line to greet customers. Being unfriendly can turn a customer around and not eat there. Thats what i wanted to do but i was meeting someone there for lunch!
My husband and I came in around 1pm with our toddler son yesterday. We had a very busy afternoon, and were in sort of a rush to eat and get our other keiki from school. The staff were great, and very attentive. The young man who served us was very nice, and offered to box our sons meal(he was very sleepy and didnt wake up to eat). He even bagged it, and brought over boxes in case we didnt finish our food in time. Were Kamaāina and have been here many times. This one was the most memorable because of the great server and the hurricane fries were bomb! Super ono food and awesome service, cant go wrong. Mahalo🤙🤙🤙
Best ribs! Yummy, tender you almost dont need teeth to eat-lol. Sesalie was a great waitress, she refilled our sodas before we asked/or needed it at the time. We are coming back tomorrow!
Reasonable prices food. Service is ok. Tried the nachos because people were saying best nachos in town. I will be trying different nachos because those werent great.
Quality of food extremely poor, both steaks not cooked to order. 1 steak it looks like all they did was heated up on both sides it was completely raw in the middle completely! The other steak was cooked fairly well about 50% of it, the other half completely Raw!Mashed potatoes for both plates were cold. The vegetables looked to be some type of stir fry yet, they were completely raw and cold. This server was polite, courteous, and friendly, however that is not enough to ever get me to walk through those doors again. The only recommendation I can give for Kohos is to avoid it like the plague!
Food is meh, service is meh, three stars might be generous. Dont think we will be back, but they prob dont care.Update* So apparently our last visit here was around 8 months ago. We shouldve waited a lot longer. My former three star HAD to be downgraded to one. Service is ok, but the food... we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The place wasnt that busy so Im not sure what goes on in their kitchen but geez, 30 minutes? Then the food comes, teri beef is two sad pieces of meat smeared with teri sauce. Fried chicken had no taste. Poor waitress did her best to serve us but she cant make up for what the kitchen lacks. Definitely never going back again, but like I said previously I dont think they really care. Save your money and go somewhere else
I asked tossed salad and rice but just got the tossed salad only with my pot roast. Water came really late after my food arrived. I ordered dessert to go, The Kine, it should be have fudge on it but the fudge is not even one table spoon. So small and almost none. Not satisfied with my lunch.
Still luv the fries but cant this place ever get a remodel. The tables wobble, the booths are stained and the carpet smells moldy. The bathrooms are dingy and stinky. There were fruit flies in the air by the bar. Plus all the service staff wore the most worn out, jumble of aloha shirts. Very tired looking.
Ate here for dinner tonight and the food was amazing. I ordered the guava glazed fresh catch. Loved it!!! Their house dressing tasted wonderful. Seated right away, food was served quickly and our waitress was friendly.
Im giving 5 stars because my mom and I had a very pleasant experience for breakfast! Quick & polite Service & had great omelette withcoffe. Coffee was good I enjoyed the atmosphere I love the local artwork and the boots were very comfortable & spacious!
A low one star. I am being generous. Food just bland.Service is Ok but just nothing special about dishes. Had fish it was dry. Hamburgers way over cooked and bread soggy. Fries were like frozen thawed out. Oh and restrooms filthy.. If u want to feel ur gut its equal to a Mcdonalds. I will not be back and i am a local.
Always good food! They always have have some nice specials. Also very fairly priced. The atmosphere is also very friendly and comfortable. You have some privacy and can just talk with your friends, if you sit in one of the booths. One really comes for the desserts though. Who knew you could do so many things with ice cream?
Waitress had an attitude. Ordered eggs , extra crispy bacon and potatoes for breakfast. Eggs were good. Potatoes were cold. Bacon was not crispy and were cold. Had to wait 15 minutes for my bill also delivered with an attitude.
Not a gourmet restaurant, but a nice change of pace to all the tourist restaurants in Lahaina.
Visiting from Oahu and celebrating my Birthday with my Ohana. Awesome food presentation, great staff, and the food was Onolicious. 😄
This was the only place we ate at in 9 days that was not good. The waitress did not understand anything. She was non responsible and never checked on how our meal was.I ordered the fish plate. It was supposedly ono. It was tough and had the texture of chicken, rather than fish. I needed a knife to but it. The rice was sticky and bland. The best part of the meal was the macaroni salad, which was bland.Hubby had a turkey club. It had no bacon. The turkey was 1 thin slice. The fries were essentially raw.The table was sticky and the kitchen was slow. Thank god it was my last meal, rather than my first meal on the island.
Service was very fast and attentive. Prices very reasonable. Food was decent very hometown diner-like. As soon as we sat down noticed a good size bug crawling around on our table. Salads came out first with their house guava vinaigrette. It was so good my wife asked for a recipe which they had available to hand out (my cup of dressing of course had a dead bug in the bottom). Over all not terrible but not somewhere we would go again when visiting.
