Kochi Sushi Japanese Restaurant - Sushi restaurant in Brockville, Canada
Used to be a good place for all you can eat. This is no longer offered and frankly all the stars get taken off for this. The food is not authentic/anything special to be priced the way it is and this was mostly worth the all-you-can eat price due to variety. My family and I used to go here regularly but for the last 2 years its not serving all-you-can eat anymore. Weve attended and eaten a-la-carte but were disappointed all three times. We will not be returning, unfortunately. I would rather drive to Ottawa or Kingston. Do not recommend.
This USED to be a great place. Good quality sushi and all you can eat. Then during Covid, they were just doing Al la cart. Now there’s no all you can eat, they’ve also dropped the soup and salad from the combos which I’ve NEVER seen at a sushi restaurant ever, all combos come with soup and salad. And worst of all, I ordered a $60 party tray that came with rice inside the roll (where it’s supposed to be fish). They filled the roll with extra rice. I will never come here again, it’s a complete insult to their customers. We now drive to Kingston or Ottawa and happily pay $35 p/ person because it’s actually worth it.
The less stuffed Dragon Roll /Dynamic roll ever, and it cost us $10+. We tried these two kinds of rolls plenty of times in different Japanese restaurant. Only in this place, the crab meat/ shrimp/ egg are replaced by rice.
Sushi was good and fast to come out.Drinks were served in the can and the all you can eat was not available.
The salmon is fresh , our waiter is very friendly. love it. ❤️❤️❤️
Food is always good but, due to no longer offering all you can eat, it becomes a very expensive lunch/dinner. Unfortunately I will not be returning until this changes back.
No more all you can eat! And the take out was terrible when we got it. Such a bummer
Fresh, tasty food. Decent prices. Many vegetarian and vegan options as well. The teriyaki tofu was excellently cooked. Really delicious. Friendly, fast service. I recommend!
Worst sushi I ever had in my life. Food is awful…nothing fresh. Had Wonton and Seafood soup…tasted like out of can. Sushi fish was rubbery and it all tasted the same. Nori was chewy and rubbery, we had to unroll our sushi to be able to eat it, threw away the Nori. Inside was dirty…tables are sticky and baby seat was disgusting. Owners also argued on multiple occasions in front of clients. Service is awful, had to ask for everything multiple times. We went to McDonalds afterwards. In hind-site we probably should have returned the food and left, never again. And I almost forgot, they are scamming the government out of tax money…you get 10%off if you pay cash! Surprised CRA hasnt shut them down yet.
Decent sushi spot if your in Brockville. We did takeout of a 80 pc tray with a side of shrimp tempura. Cost us around $85 and was ready in 20 minutes. It was presented well.I can’t comment on the eat in experience but I did not enjoy interacting with staff during pickup. We had forgot to order one of our drinks and had to go back in to get one. The lady was upset that we were buying an extra drink using debit.Their flyers and menu claim to be all you can eat buffet, but apparently this no longer exists. They offer 10% off your order if your willing to pay cash. You can have a free birthday meal but only if you bring at least 5 people.
Definitely one of the top sushi places Ive been to. Very consistent, never let down!
Amazing food, always get take out. Cannot wait for all you can eat again
Honestly I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I feel obliged to warn people before they eat here - it’s that bad.I initially got takeout from Kochi about four years ago, and thought it was ok, but when I went this month I thought it was the worst food, service, and value, I’ve ever had - in my life. The sushi is really, really, bad quality (I’ve eaten sushi at easily 50 different places over 15 years and I would say this is unfortunately the worst ever). It feels truly like the person cooking just doesn’t care about the food at all.The presentation is bad, the service is also bad. The place is dirty, windows dirty, tables are sticky…you get the picture.Proceed warned. If you’re really craving sushi in Brockville you might have better luck with the pre-made stuff at superstore.
Very good sushi with fast friendly service. Ive never been disappointed here.I wholeheartedly recommend that you eat here if you are looking for great sushi!I asked the wife and she says epic sushi, amazing sushi, better than big town sushi.Come here for sushi. You should do it. You wont regret it!
Not tasty food, small portions, poor presentation, unfriendly service. We did not have much expectations, but we were unpleasantly surprised. Google rating 4.2? Does not look like.
Fantastic place. Always fresh. Tons of selection.Would love to see the all you can eat come back.
Always amazing food and service. Miss their buffet though
Sushi, rolls were edible. Tempura Udon and teriyaki chicken bento was not. Udon was too salty and chicken had no flavor.
At this time there is no all you can eat, if anyone is wondering. Good service, good food. Staff communicating with each other sometimes can get a little too loud, but other wise polite and attentive.
Used to be an amazing place to go get lunch with friends. They took away the all you can eat but still have the sign up. Bring back all you can eat to get full stars
My first time trying Sushi that wasnt just crab or shrimp and it was spectacular!! Ive been back 3 times. The service is quick, food is fresh and they are so helpful with any questions you have!
Totally surprised/shocked when the bill came. Its NOT all you can eat! Sign needs to be changed. False advertising.
Currently Koshi Sushi is open for Dine-in and Take-out. Their all you can eat buffet option however is not. When talking to the employees they stated "we cannot offer the buffet yet as we arent officially open yet" Avoid this corrupt place until they offer dining at a cost per plate again, if not be prepared to pay 10.99-12.99 for 4-6 rolls depending on your preferred menu items.
Amazing sushi. Ambiance was great, service was fantastic and extremely quick for dine in. Would highly recommend the crab mango sushi and would come back!
Staff were polite, shame the food wasn’t great. I would give 2 stars, but I’m considering that this place isn’t exactly metropolitan, so perhaps my expectations need to be tempered a little.
Had their Fresh fresh sushi for lunch with hot tempura. Our 7th time here...at least. Always excellent.
The best sushi places are the ones with a disappointing exterior and cheap decor. This place is no exception. Sushis were fresh and definitely affordable. The rice will fill you up fast. Service was also friendly.
Best sushi iv had in a along time. Very professional staff and always super nice. I recommend this place to anyone that wants good fresh sushi.
Love this Brockville institution every time we get together with the family. Great party platters, consistently good quality would recommend.
This used to be "all you can eat". After two years of not being in Brockville, we came to visit family and went to Koshi Sushi for lunch. As we used to, we ordered many types of sushi...not realizing they were no longer doing all you can eat... we were not informed otherwise... however, the server kept coming back to get orders as they would for all you can eat. The menu also doesnt specify that theyre only doing priced menu items and still says "all you can eat". Its a scam and the food isnt good enough to be paying price per item. The only type of compensation that was offered was if we wanted to pay cash and get 10% off the price. Youre better off going to the Superstore for your sushi fix.
Enjoyed a la cart menu tonight. The cheese wontons are always a favourite. Be sure to finish off with a spicy and refreshing ginger roll.
Quality is below average. Sashimi tastes like it was just defrozen.
The food was really grouse. That how terryaki chicken looks. Never come there really bad service we don’t like the food and they don’t wanna refund money.
The food smelled like fish and the taste was terrible. The service was terrible we tried to pay and she was talking in her language that was racist. And we tell her to refund the money back and she said that we order the food we have to pay but we tell the server that udon soup smell terrible. We tell her the right way that food smells bad. But she starts arguing with us. I try to get her attention but she was talking on the phone taking another order. People just stay away from this place the food is terrible sushi is dry.
We absolutely love the all you can eat sushi! I really wish they would re-open as we are in stage 3. We frequented Kochi Sushi before the pandemic but have not had the chance since before the first lock down. Very disappointing as the food is absolutely delicious.
We drove in off the highway, after being on the road all day. We just wanted enough for 2 of us. We were 15 minutes before closing. The staff at Kochi Sushi were happy to fill our order and we took it to go. So fresh and fast and friendly! Gluten free options! Thanks again! Will definitely come again when we can sit and enjoy!
What a disappointment!! Since when must you leave a tip when picking up an order. Beware if you plan on paying with a card. The male employee at the cash pressed the 12% tip button then passed the key pad for payment card and PIN. When we realized the discrepancy and called Kochi the employee denied his action even when we have proof in the 12% difference from the bill and our account transaction. Never again will we be eating here and supporting this business. Save a pile of money and go to Billy Ks just a few hundred meters north in the plaza behind Wendys, you wont be disappointed there!
We were referred to this sushi place just off the 401E attached to Days Inn. Fresh sashimi.. sushi rolls all kinds. Friendly and attentive staffWell priced. Highly recommend
The more we eat there the more disappointed we are in the service. The food is good, the price for lunch all-you-can eat is very reasonable. But the service! They keep bringing out the wrong rolls. We find we have to repeat ourselves multiple times. For example my wife is a vegetarian and allergic to fish and I told them multiple times to put mine on a separate plate. Lo and behold, they put her vegetarian stuff on my fish filled plate. We told them she couldnt eat it because it was with the fish. They took it back, put it on another plate and tried to serve it to her again! Then she would come and ask us multiple times in a matter of minutes if we wanted more, even after telling her we would flag her down when we were ready. There wasnt many people there and we felt very rushed.Again, food is good but the service is a huge turn off. Especially when mixing vegetarian and seafood.
Quick review: Pretty great AYCE sushi joint, with option for a la carte, especially considering theyre just off the 401 exit in Brookville and attached to a Days Inn. Satisfied that on-the-road sushi craving. If I pass through Brookville again, I will return.Food: Quite good. Pictured is the grilled squid. The food was better than I thought. Only major issue was I ordered mackerel sashimi and it was not fresh at all. Had an off-yellow color, not white, and tasted too fishy, like it thawed incorrectly, not at all the normal mackerel fishy tasty. Other than that, the rest of the food was incredibly satisfying and tasty. Food was also served extremely quickly and came out hot!Staff: Extremely quick!! They take your orders here, rather than guests ordering with an iPad. They refill your water quickly, come back at appropriate intervals for your next order, and were so quick. Im very impressed with their speed because AYCE sushi staff tend to be slow.Other notes: Quite easy to miss because its attached to the Days Inn. Keep your eyes out to get into the parking lot. Free parking.
This place is definitely worth a trip across the border for me! The food is absolutely delicious, service is quick, and price is great. In the states, I have not found an all-you-can eat place near me, at all, let alone for this awesome price. Snow Mountain Roll was my favorite, highly recommend that one.I only give four stars due to the service from the staff. One staff in particular appeared miserable and became agitated with our questions. The other staff were not rude, but definitely not friendly. Simply just did their job. Despite this, I will be back solely due to the amazing food here.
Kombawa Kichi Sushi is THE place for sushi ... EZ to get to on Stewart Blvd and free parkg attached to Days Inn, great sushi and sashimi menus a la carte OR all you can eat $25.99 -- will definitely enjoy a return visit for Date Night l.o.l.
First, let me say that they have amazing food. Next, let me say that the prices are also very competitive. Last, let me say that I enjoyed the food and the service so much, I had to return. The staff are on top of their game. Whether to seat you, or to take your order, they are very prompt and aware. I felt like if I wanted to place an order they were ready. The kitchen speed was also very prompt. We went for Saturday lunch and it was comfortably occupied both times.Definitely recommend it.
Food is good. Busy spot. Only thing I dont like is how the waitress are always in your face asking if you need more food when the table is full still. Id love to see them step it up and just use I pads for ordering food without being hassled when you mouth is full, like other sushi places I have visited. Great spot for brockville though. Long time customer here.
Great food for the price! The menu includes a great variety of foods that are all brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time. You can show up and gorge on sushi or you can enjoy a multi course meal. Your sushi meal will feel a whole lot fancier if you start with a salad, a soup, maybe an appetizer, then have sushi and follow it up with dessert. It’s all included in the price so you may as well enjoy yourself! You will have I go quite a few times to find your favourites on the menu, it’s worth the multiple visits though!
Good and very reasonably priced! Was about $31 for all-you-can-eat lunch. Lots of opens (see picture of menu Staff werent overly friendly but not terrible. Might not "wow" you but you shouldnt be disappointed.
Excellent sushi!! Theyre staff isnt overly friendly, however, the quality of the food and the price more than make up for it. You dont have to flag them down to order more, they come by in a timely manner. It should be noted that lunch is $15.99 and $25.99 for dinner. Add $1 if eating there fri-sun.
Best sushi place that we went by far.I really love their beef teriyaki, japanese fried chicken and golden (or red?dragon sushi.Wish they have dimsun in their menu like what their tarp is showing from the outside of their restaurant. Will definitely go back here. 100%
Freshly made dishes, good ingredients and great service. Incredible deal. The only improvement I would suggest is the quality of the dumplings.
Excellent! Everything was great, from the food to the service to the price. $1 discount if you are paying with cash!@bikingtogetfood
