Lot of ship models. Unfortunately they have all different scales, so you can’t really compare sizes. The maritime part was quite boring. Some interactive game makes it more interesting. The kawasaki motorbike display and the few other transport related things were nice. For me the highlight was the shinkansen control room.

I really enjoyed this museum. Lots of English signs and only 900¥ per adult to enter. Had interactive areas that im sure are great for kids, but even I enjoyed them as an adult to "play". Would recommend highly if you have the slightest interest in maritime or Kawasaki history.

This is a great museum for those who are interested in the port of Kobe. They also have an exhibit of Kawasaki vehicles, so fans of motorcycles should be pleased.

I get frustrated because there’s not the ship my family got to Brazil in 1935- Rio de Janeiro Maru and others ships that are important to the history of Japanese immigration to Brazil. The replica of first ship that transport Japanese immigrants to Brazil is small.

This museum is consisted of two parts. I went one of them called KAWASAKI MUSEUM. I felt entrance fee 900 yen is little expensive. If you have small boy kids may be a good option. It has motor bike, train, car etc. People there are generally friendly but not very much familiar with taking care of small kids.

Great little museum especially if you like ships. Theres a nice sized deck/patio on the second floor that allows you to get a better view of the harbor area. There are two simulator games, as well, where you can drive a ship to six locations in the harbor or pretend youre a long shore man and test your skills at moving shipping containers from ship to shore. Right now, for an extra 300 yen, you can purchase a combo ticket that allows you to go up in the tower. The museum also has a small Kawasaki museum within it. It displays the history of things built by Kawasaki and a few of the items are on display.

Great place to visit if in the area. Dont go out of your way if like me you are a motorcycle fan. Theres not much there in the way of bikes. Around15 bikes on display. Does give a good story on Kawasaki though, although note mostly in Japanese. Has a few interactive rides that would be great for kids and big kids alike.

I went there for the maritime aspect, but inside is a museum for Kawasaki fans. Lots of model ships, not just Japanese. The models comprise the bulk of the museums content, sans the Kawasaki stuff. The Kawasaki stuff is pretty good if you are into that, which my step-son was so thumbs up. Also there is a little Star Trek Easter egg in the big train diorama.

Costs 600 yen and is found inside the Kobe Maritime Museum. The former museum is rather disappointing but this museum is reasonably interactive and has a good collection of motor bikes.

The Maritime museum has lots of ships, boats and miniature replicas of Kobe, with information detailing the history of the port. Also under the same roof is Kawasaki Good Times World. This is a great little museum with train displays, aircraft and ships. There are some simulators, and if you have a few hours to spare makes for a pleasant little trip. Family friendly. Dont forget your camera.

A lot of ships models from variuos times and a huge wooden model. Museum was opened around 1987, and it feels that it remains the same from the opening. There is a lot of video information, in both Japanese and English, but like I mentioned before, it was filmed long time ago. Thouth it was interesting to see how cars and everything looked in those days.

Very nice, but small museum of civil maritime tradition. No mention whatsoever of ancient or modern military vessels which I found a little odd. There are very few English descriptions, so be ready to use a translator a lot if you are not fluent in Japanese.

Had no expectations coming into museum for boyfriend who enjoys motorcycles. Left extremely surprised and happy with the fun little interactive games and simulators because of the nice elderly men who were very good at explaining the games and were so friendly. It was really nice to see. Very quiet so it won’t be busy and populated.

Kobe Maritime Museum is a percect place to go on field trips. Ship lovers would surely enjoy seeing replica and boat parts displays here. Aside from that visitors would also get the chance to visit the Kawasaki Good Times Museum which is also inside this museum.

The Kawasaki Museum is all I really went for but the Maritime museum was actually quite good if you like boats/ships. The majority of displayed items were model boats with fantastic detail. The Kawasaki Goodtimes museum itself was smaller than I had hoped but if you like bikes then it is great. We got to see many of Kawasakis products and they had a lot of bikes to look at. interesting to see how far they have progressed. The ZX10r simulator made me feel sick however...

It was OK to see models of ships but not what I would expect from a museum with the maritime history of Japan. Half the museum is taken up with Kawasaki history and motorbikes which is pretty amazing. Certainly educational. The Kobe harbour front is pretty sterile but lots of activities for kids in harbour town.
