I dont remember how many times I enjoy coming to visit this valuable department store right after walking around the old China town next to it. Kobe has been a great international city ever since Edo period. This amazing shop is more than a little history.

It is a great mall, but all the displayed item are quite expensive.

Very good department store with a great selection of goods from clothing to housewares to everything in between.. Top quality too and with lots of designer names thrown in, both menswear and ladies and childrens wear.Plenty of places upstairs to eat also. Takes a while to walk around if you are taking everything in, but a great way to kill time.

Great place, just a bit expensive for some things. Very helpful staff. Love the food hall, thats got to be the highlight of your Daimaru shopping experience. For English speakers you can ask for help, signs are in English too.

Yet another monstrosity of shopping selection! It is massive and probably the largest shop in Kobe! They sell a great variety of food items. You have to go on the basement floor for those. Many are discounted during later part of the day!

This is a typical Asian department store with individual sections for different designers. Some of them even have their own physical store inside the store. Most of them are high priced well known designers. The 9th floor has a few restaurants, but overall, I found the choices a bit limited and a bit high priced. Generally speaking, the store seemed clean with friendly staff.

Kobe branch of 300 year old department store. Direct access from Subway (Kyu-kyoryuchi/Daimaru-maestation. Same high-end format but smaller and less crowded. Museum on 9F. This store is surrounded by 30+ super high end boutiques (Prada, Hermes, Issei Miyake, etc)

Food market in basement is excellent for foodies, a bit pricey but worth it...

Quite a normal mall. As with most malls in Japan, I love to explore the basement floor with the supermarket and the different food. So many choices!
