Modeled after a traditional Japanese inn, this eatery serves hibachi-style steak & seafood.
We get the sushi bar the sushi chef was excellent so is the whole dining experience its separate from the regular dining so you can eat alone in the sushi bar
Great service, very friendly staff. Great food.
Always a fun experience there watching them cook in front of you & making jokes while doing so.
Love this restaurant food Is AMAZING!! we will always come back!!
This place never dissapoints. Everything was great. Chef was awesome!
Really great experience! Food was great, super lively and entertaining chef, nice atmosphere..perfect for celebrating ! The only reason I cant give 5 stars is that a took quite a while after we were seated for someone to come take our order. But most places are short staffed now. Ill definitely go back !
Fantastic birthday celebration! Amazing staff!!
first time having Kobe’s. It was mediocre. Scallops had no taste. Food had no flavor. I prefer Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, located at JW Marriott in Palm Desert.
Do you enjoy hot yoga? If you do you might enjoy sitting around 10 lit stovetops in a 100 degree room.I very much enjoyed the food and service at Kobe , But will not ever go there on a hot day again.. save it for winter and you will be 👍🏻
Awesome place and lots of fun too. The food was incredible as was the service. I had a chicken and steak combo with lots of rice and it was pretty spectacular. My friends had shrimp and one had fried rice. Everything was plentiful and so good. The decor is a little dated but kind of adds to the ambiance. Definitely eating there again.
Fantastic food and great experiences! Our hibachi chef Jose was fantastic and a great entertainer!
The only reason its not one star is because it was my dads birthday and he had a good time. But it had to be over 90° in that building and it felt like I could do nothing but focus on how hot and sweaty I was. It made it hard to enjoy the food because of the consciousness of people looking at me and questioning if I had just ran six miles. But I was comforted at the fact that others faces were filled with sweat that most likely cost them all $178 as well.
When going to Palm Springs this place is a must. The food is mouth watering and the entrainment was wonderful. My family had a blast will keep coming back!!!
Our first time here and it was the best all around our chefs was amazing food was absolute 💯
Food was delicious! Fast service and smiling employees!
The food was very good, however, it was extremely hot at the tables.. so warm there was sweat pouring off us..I dont think I would go back for that reason.
Gio and Jose were Awesomeness 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 Thank you Celebrating My Sons Birthday 🎂
One of the best places to dine in the Palm Springs area. The seating grills are the bomb, and they have a vegetables and Tofu option for vegans and vegetarians.
Save your hard earned money. I had many Japanese tepanyaki before and this place is not even worth it. Food has no taste, sushi was plain, and our server was MIA.
I’m shocked to see so many recent positive reviews. I have gone to a KOBE restaurant for my birthday almost every year for as long as I can remember. I haven’t been since Covid hit and was so excited to find one near our new home. My husband had never been and for weeks leading up to my birthday, I raved about it. What a huge DISAPPOINTMENT! Everything was different! No noodles, different vegetables, different rice or an up charge to get the old, no white sauce, terrible quality. On top of that they forgot to give us the shrimp that was supposed to come with the meal. (We did take outWe called the restaurant immediately when we noticed the missing items and got the voicemail. I left a message and never got a call back. I assumed they would at least call back the next day.. nothing! I called and left a message for the manager and still no call back. I honestly can’t believe it. We paid almost $80 for an inedible, partial meal. Most of it ended up in the trash. It was like really bad Chinese food but 5 times the price. So very disappointed.
Nice atmosphere. Good food. Chef was great but the rest of the staff were invisible for water, drinks etc.
We came on a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary, food, company, and chef were all outstanding. The meal was expensive but I have to say it was a 10 star meal! everyone at the table truly enjoyed their food even a meal to go because of the large portions. Drinks were excellent and I have to say one of my best meals and evening out in the area trulyenjoyed it. Thank you for providing a great experience definitely giving a five-star rating
Worst japanese steakhouse that I have ever been to! From the lady at the front desk, to the guy that cooked our food, seemed he was trying but really new. No noodles? Instead we got some sprouts? Really expensive for what you got. Will never go back.
Wished the show was better. We were seated in an area where I have never seen so many little kids . Felt like I was in Chuck E Cheese . I will request an adult only area next time . My husband and I were out without the kids and this didnt go over well for his birthday ! I didnt order fried rice and waited til the end of my dinner before someone brought my steamed rice . Food was ok . Not anything to rave about.
Really great food. Kind of an icon, essentially no changes in decor since my first visit 35 years ago. The chefs I have experienced over the years have all been very competent. The servers frankly could use more training, its hard to get a water refill or even catch their attention, and they often reach across one diner to serve the next.
My first experience at Kobe. We didnt wait long for our reservation. The service was amazing!! We never had to wait for anything once we got to our table. The food was amazing! Everything was amazing!!!!!All the staff was amazing in every job! Thank you Kobe for making my first experience awesome.
Inside dinning excellent service fantastic chief best food cooked to perfection last visit was a year ago quality has not changed.i will be back my next visit to palm springs
Loved it. Amazing good sushi even though we are in the desert. Highly recommended!
We had a table of 9 people 6 adults 3 children and spent just shy of $1,000.00 our meal was amazing but the chicken was disgusting. We made them aware of that and the manager was not happy with us making a complaint about not enjoying the entire mea. He became very confrontational and was so rude….the meal was amazing but apparently the manager did not like a 100% good review. The chicken was only $60 of the whole meal we never wanted him to not charge for the chicken but wanted to make him aware it was not good. Understand why they have no staff cause they have a not good customer service. Really disappointed after patronizing this restaurant for over 18 years and deciding to be so confrontational with us. The server and chef were amazing but please hire a decent management person.
An excellent place to dine and meet new people. Diners eat around a large flattop grill which enables them to watch the food prepared in front of them by a chef. The prices are on the high side but the ambience is very conducive to having a fun and enjoyable dining experience.
Sushi was not very good, and the portions were insanely large. Found was very salty too. And an up charge for fried rice? Come on. Honestly, I wish there were a hibachi restaurant that didn’t need to have its chefs act like clowns. Maybe they could just cook good food and chat with customers like real people? Not impressed.
Great food. Great experience. Fiance brought me here and found it by surprise. Fun and amazing experience. While you are waiting for a table there is a bar as well and they give you a buzzer to wait outside or I your car. I recommend the lobser.
The food was delicious, but I wasnt asked for my vaccination proof, so I have to assume no one else was either.Too many of the servers, cooks and bartenders were not wearing face masks properly. Add to that, there is no social distancing in place and no masks required during dinner. I was face to face with strangers, so was everyones food and drinks. This place is ripe for a super spreader event! Do better Kobe.
My family and I have been here a few times already. We have enjoyed the great service especially in the Bar area seating. Hector and Abby were awesome in tending to all my familys dining . They were on point with all the drinks and food. The food was consistent on taste and served to a satisfying temperature. We had the best experience everytime we have visited. We will definitely be going back to make more wonderful dining memories.
Everything was fine, but not outstanding. The bar area was very nice. Dinner was a long drawn out process. I went from being super hungry to not being very interested in eating by the time the main course was finally ready.
Love it...specialty the chef Joaquin ...he was amazing...excellent show and service. Recommended.
Im a pescatarian & never considered dining here since it is a Japanese steak house. After many years of contemplation I finally visited yesterday & to my surprise they had a cozy sushi bar with the best selections. The chef was extremely friendly & professional. Dishes such as Albacore arent on the menu but was served upon request.
No a very good experience, you expect a little more of a show, no just fire from an onion the vegetables were over Cook, srimp over Cook never again
Had a great time celebrating mine and my loves anniversary. The chef even made us an I ♡ U out of some of the food while he was cooking. We both ordered the NY steak and lobster, it was cooked perfectly. The miso soup, spicy fried rice, veggies and shrimp before the main dish was delicious and the green tea ice cream afterwards was also very good. The chef was very talkative and kept us laughing the entire time, he even let us catch a piece of shrimp with our mouths haha, a very entertaining night with good food. 👍
We LOVED this restaurant. On our Palm Desert trip this time we discovered this gem and our whole family agrees that this will be our ritual every time we come visit here. Food was fresh, delicious, good quality of meats and seafood. Chefs were both fun and professional. So entertaining! Would definitely return.
I had fried rice, my first time there. They entertain you while cooking for you. I think it is pricey but you are given a lot of food. I was taken there for dinner.
I would give 5 🌟 if anyone would be offended a heating lamp or a least asked do we need some. It was cold outside, and no one even asked. Food and ambient is good for covid circumstances
Came here for my anniversary and it was a beautiful atmosphere and the staff was absolutely wonderful. I cant put to into words on how great the food was. Thank you for wonderful experience
Always a favorite! Food is excellent, service is friendly, quality is outstanding.
One of our favorite places to eat in the desert. The staff here is always extremely friendly and courteous. We have never had a bad meal here. Everything we eat is always cooked to perfection, and the chefs always give us a good laugh. If you enjoy Teppan style cooking, you will love Kobe. Their scallops are awesome, but then so is everything else on the menu. Dont forget to upgrade your rice to spicy garlic fried rice: to die for! The spicy mustard and ginger sauces are also excellent. We usually have a birthday person with us when we go, so its fun when they bring out the drum and tambourine to sing. Would definitely recommend going here if you have never been. Also, if you go between 5 and 6 PM they have an early bird special every night except Saturdays that saves you quite few bucks per bbn person. Enjoy! We always do.
We stopped in to Kobe while visiting the area and had an early dinner. The ambiance was nice, the staff was great and the signature experience was fantastic! I had the chicken and shrimp entree and it tasted fresh and yummy! I havent been to a Kobe Steakhouse since I was a boy in Nashville and it was just as nice reminiscing as it was enjoying as an adult.
Food was good and the chef was very entertaining and welcoming. Its a great spot to celebrate a birthday.
Nice place. Food was good. I liked that you D can choose between traditional fried rice, garlic fried rice, or spicy fried rice. I went extra and got spicy garlic fried rice.
Amazing food, great service but it will cost ya!
Food is great, Atmosphere is perplexing. From the outside the Architecture and Coi pond gives the air of a relaxing and quiet resteraunt with a relaxing and formal setting with reserved seating, valet parking, and Oriental decorations. The servers were very courteous and attentive, but the preparation was more like a Habachi than a traditional steak house resteraunt, having the food prepared in front of the attendees, igniting alcohols, flipping knives and loud cheering... Even tossing food into the mouths of customers. The proportions for the food were far more than expected, with dessert being included regardless if wanted, and honestly the vegies kept coming even long after the room on my plate was gone. The food itself is great, certainly.
