Knysna River Club in Knysna

Very good situated. Near the Knysna heads and Harbour. It is a few steps away from the river bank. Clean, neat and spacious. I will highly recommend any visitor to stay here when visiting Knysna...

We spent a week in this lovely resort and enjoyed every minute of it. Beautiful and peaceful location

Knysna River Club is a vacation resort made up of Timeshare, hired units, and some owned units. The ones that are at the lagoon’s edge are not timeshare units. These are upmarket log cabins, well-furnished and well equipped for self-catering. This vacation resort is ideal if you have children as caters mainly to that age. It has a games room, swimming pool, mini golf, and bike riding. It also has a jacuzzi but that is for hire an hour at a time, but I found it too full of chlorine and made my skin itch from the chemicals thereafter. A nice lagoon walk within 30 minutes will take you to a shopping center. It is centrally located and close to many pubs offering good weekend music. It has no shops on site. If you want just a quiet holiday without lots of children, this is not the place for you. The cabins although good, in general, I would rate it 3 stars, but I had a few qualms. 1the shower is a stand-in bath shower 2The TV in the bedroom is a mere mirror of the lounge TV so you and the kids can’t watch different channels. 3The TV in the lounge is very confusing to work on (and I consider myself very IT literate), and most would find it confusing. 4If you wanted to plug in items like gaming units, it is not possible as the TV is connected to a central control box and hides all the plugs into the TV. You can only plug it into the main bedroom TV unit. The unit itself in winter was very cold and they do supply a radiator heater, however mine I did not find on the first day as was stuck behind a couch. There are electric blankets on the main and 2nd bedrooms. The Wi-Fi is unlimited and different sub-Wi-Fi are placed amongst the cabins with the same password. The Wi-Fi is slow but covers basic things like surfing the net, WhatsApp, and e-mails. But anything faster will not work well. I plugged in Netflix via an HDMI cable in the bedroom, and this someday worked, others it stopped every 5 minutes, and a buffering circle would start. The very positive point I wanted to make is reception was very well run. Before booking in they created a WhatsApp group so they can handle any questions upfront. The ladies were extremely pleasant and Helpful. The Manager even offered people to go out into the village overnight and get people something if needed. Even though I did not use it, I thought it was a nice personal touch. She even offered her mobile to all checking in on a note whilst checking so you can contact her after hours if needed if you had any problems with the cabin, TVs, etc. Not wheelchair friendly as far as I could see as steps to all cabins on both sides unless there is one reserved for disabled and I did not see it

Really nice chalet by the lagoon. Clean and had everything we needed. Checked in late but process was very smooth. Very polite staff.

Weve booked here before and was beautiful the staff was friendly and made the stay a great experience. With a few years later we booked our first year anniversary celebration by them. Knysna is where weve got engaged and means a lot to us.I booked the lagoon view for it is suppose to be magical with the lagoon sight in front of you. Than all I get to see is the trees and roofs of the cabins in front of us. Little bit of lagoon view not much.For August is the rain month of the year as we know and so it rain and could not even used our porch with the table and chairs. Our porch is not fully covered with a roof like the others.The jacuzzi is not working and this was also a reason why weve booked. Sauna has been removed and than also no restaurant as it all is stated on the website.The staff was not helpful in any way all they said we cant help we are so sorry.Im very disappointed in how they did not even try to accommodate us with the problems we had to experience.

They could not bother to clean the place once- give fresh towels (towels old as wellno new coffee set out during the week. Extremely dissapointing -the whole world is operating with covid but theu cant put on a mask and clean the basics? As timeshare Always Did and Multiple timeshare resorts STILL does

Rooms only gets servived if you ask for service, there were no broom or mop if you want to sweep yourself, had to ask. Some old dirty towels from previous guests found under the bed.

We stayed at Knysna River Club the 1st week in March 2022, and LOVED it!! The staff are wonderful, from Reception to cleaning! Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. BUT, of course, the Location is absolutely beautiful! We will definitely be returning!!! May & Trudie

Lovely log home holiday accommodation and lots to do in and around Knysna. Upgrading of units in progress.

Very nice large wooden chalets, top quality fittings, safe and secure, pool, put put, jacuzzi, restaurants and more, close to centre of town, hire a bike and ride the footpaths along the Lagoon, very pleasant on a sunny day, not very windy here.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment and enjoyed our stay. The apartment was quite big and clean, the service was good. The location so close to the river is great; its easy and nice to go for a run there in the early morning.The reason for giving only 4 stars is the very bad wifi. If you chose the place because you need good internet connection for work purposes and always get kicked out of the different networks (why not at least one with different access points?because the signal disappears, its frustrating and not todays standard.

Although not close to the beach, still close to all major places of interest. Good place to relax or use as a base for surrounding activities.

Amazing setting with the lagoon on your doorstep. Walking/cycle path and easy access to town.

We loved it. There are many different things to keep in busy with. From kayaking, cycling and swimming to table tennis. Rooms were perfect and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. All and all a stay that we would happily do again.

The one bed chalets are beautiful layout with enough space. Very clean. Unfortunately the towels were not so nice. Nice view overthe Knysna river. Not so nice are the security. Very noisy due to public walk through.

Very quiet and peaceful. Perfect for guests who want to see Knysna and surrounding areas.

Units are spacious, clean and well equipped, the resort is well located on the lagoon. Entertainment facilities for the family but I find it exhausting to look for coins to pay for it all the time, I also wish that during the school holidays there was an entertainment crew (bingo, pool games etcto keep the children busy as well as solar heating for the pool for colder days.

One of the best places to stay in all of Knysna! The units are spacious, comfortable, safe and private. The kitchen was well resourced and everything was clean.Its in a central part of town so its the perfect location to go out for dinners and see sights. The Knysna River Club has a perfect balance of having other people around that it feels like a community but also private enough to always have your own space.Service exceeded expectations, everyone was so helpful and friendly.

Helpful and responsive front desk. Check in and check out was no problem. Adequate facility for a family on a budget. Close to all that Knysna has to offer for visitors. Pleasant experience if u looking for value for money.

We really enjoyed the weekend although it was raining all Saturday. Nice place to stay. Very neat. Everything you need are available.

Beautiful Resort with friendly and helpful staff. There is a lot of activities to do on the premises itself as well as the best waffle restaurant.I would definitely recommend Knysna River club.

Was great had to fix my own toilet but overall, all is amazing would recommend the place to anyone who loves outdoor space and birds lot of fun activities available also like bike riding hot tubs, all that great stuff, unfortunately i did not catch any fish 🐠 but definitely next time

What a majestic location this is!The entrance is a little under whelming and the restaurant could seriously use a good makeover, but the accomodation and the views of the lagoon are just amazing!We thoroughly love staying at the river club and will definitely be back sometime!

The units are spacious and clean, it has everything you need and theres a tv in every room including the lounge .Location good, right by the lake and lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained. The only thing that was bothering me is it looks as if theres a camera in the ceiling of the lounge 🤔didnt feel comfortable knowing we are been watched.

We were welcomed very warmly by very friendly staff. Although covid regulations were still in order all the staff were very helpful with anything we needed. The Club were very well looked after and we enjoyed our stay.

Was a last minute reservation as we battled to find place to sleep. I can honestly say it would never be a resort of my choice wben viewed in our list of resorts. We just needed a base tocome home to every night. At the end of the day we were pleasantly surprised with the unit we received, well furnished, cumfortable, quiet. Carin at reception went out of her way to assist and arrange with the night guard for our keys. Will definitely recommend her to any employer. She is the most helpfull and friendly staff member I have ever had the pleasure to deal with at a resort.

Stayed here a few years back, in June 2016, and what an awesome experience. We had a river front cabin and loved the style of the place. We went in winter and the tiling made it quite cold inside but plenty of heaters and electric blankets on all beds meant that it wasnt an issue at all. The food at the restaurant for our visit was exceptional and the games room was fun. There was a pool as well but we didnt use it. Would recommend over and over!

I wasnt very impressed with what we got.We visit a lot of lodges and this one is on very low on my list.Dont think i will visit again.Not very clean and neat.Couches in desperate need of a good clean. As well as bathroom can be cleaner.The, Restaurant is not really a Restaurant according to me.I was really disappointed

We stayed in nr 36 with no view of the ocean but this little cottage blew our mind. Very cozy with everything you need. Comfortable beds with Clean linen.

The best so far of my two weeks holiday besides Perna Perna holiday resort.I celebrated my 60th Birthday and the manager surprised me with a bottle of champagne we had a ball of a time at Knysna River Club. I will recommend this resort as a TOP resort.

Enjoyed our weekend only wish weather was better. The chalet was comfortable only the floors made it very cold. The bedroom did not have blockout curtains or blinds very light at night. Well stocked with utencils. Will return again

All the staff members were delightful. Friendly and helpful. The accommodation was great too. Clean. Tidy. Havent eaten at the restaurant yet, so no opinion about that.

Its set in a beautiful setting and the staff are friendly. I loved that its got an own entrance directly from the lagoon so you can go for a walk along the lagoon anytime. The resort facities and games room were perfect for those cold rainy days. The chalets were well equipped too. The only thing I can say that we needed was an extra heater in the main bedroom... the south facing room was rather chilly... but all in all had a lovely stay and will go back...

Oh my word....what an absolute gem of a place. Well appointed cabins, great facilities, excellent free WiFi, great security and a riverfront to make your day. An ever changing birdscape.... and guinea fowls that pop in to say hi! Excellent, friendly and accommodating cleaning staff. They were the highlife of our weeks stay. Will definitely be back

Amazing staff, and from a distance it looks idyllic.We did however have numerous problems. We stayed here previously in a 6 sleeper with 4 people, and the unit had 2 bathrooms and was very spacious. This year we are 5 people in a 6 sleeper and we are struggling. There is one bathroom for 6 people, the sleeper couch is horrible, the living room is so cramped (for 6 people). We also had problems with the drain in the bathroom which was smelling very badly.Through all our problems the staff assisted very nicely (most of the time - we did get a bit of attitude from some staff members, which was unpleasant), but we still had problems, and you do not want problems when relaxing on holiday.Otherwise a nice stay, with a nice view and within walking distance from Mitchells brewery, Freshline fisheries, Kwikspar, Fruit and Veg, etc.

Everything you need is here. Spacious, gets cleaned daily. Friendly service. I love the idea of being so close to the water and you can either run or cycle all along the lagoon. The Waterfront is not even 5 minutes walk along the lagoon. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely place to stay, service and maintenance staff friendly and go the extra make to ensure you satisfied, and your requirements are met. Fishing and biat facilities available, and for the runners a parkrun route on the edge of the resort.However lots of foot traffic passing your cabin if you booked on the lagoon which tends to get a bit noisy at times

We had a lovely stay. The chalet was very spacious and was arranged very effectively. The decor suited the chalet perfectly. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bathrooms were quite spacious. There is plenty to do on the premises. There is also a 5km walking route from the resort to the Knysna East Head which was beautiful.The daily cleaning services made the stay extra enjoyable! The receptionists were very helpful in advising us on what to do in the area.

Excellent Holiday DestinationMy wife and I spent an excellent week there. They have all the facilities that you need. The boats were a bit of a disaster though. Many broken.I will go back again if the opportunity arises.Accommodation was very comfortable.
