Knuckleheads Saloon in Independence

Had a great time at Sleds and Sleighs event , good looking fun timing crowd , cool rides .
MoreIts a great venue for music, the garage has some issues. The airplane seating is really fun but just due to the nature of the shape of the building its easy to have your view of the stage blocked. The night we went they had the food and booze but it was cash only. Thankfully there is an ATM but the line was crazy long and some friends of mine were kind of annoyed because they were stuck behind a train in the west bottoms and had checked the website to make sure cards were allowed. Im sure it was just a glitch for the day, but would have been nice to address it other than when you got there.
MoreWent for the Miyavi concert. Such a nice venue with great staff. Will definitely go there again.
MoreGreat venue. Intimate, eclectic and good food/drink prices. Good people and vibes
MoreLove this place. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Garage was a cozy venue and the sound was not overwhelming. Outdoor space is fun.
MoreThe Garage is such a great venue! There was a variety of seating options and I loved that the floor space right in front of the stage was a bit lower so those who wanted to stand close could without blocking the view of the people seated. The sound was great and the staff were friendly.
MoreReally cool venue. Saw Miyavi here. Love the outdoor stage. Bring cash for the bar.
MoreAlways wonderful.Saturdays are Sundays are open blues jams. All incredible and local musicians.Top notch sound and I believe they have 4 stages between the 2 building.1 out side with balcony and floor seating , 1 inside, with tons of seating, one in the blues room, and a giant venue across the alley.Awesome food menu with lots to pick from and reasonably priced and many many selections of beer and cocktails.Tons of parking.Next to the Reiger too.
MoreI got in on the lead end of the afternoon open mic. The band was amazing and I only needed a cranberry and vodka drink. Cant mess that up and prices are always good. Set outdoors part of the time and indoors part of the time period it was a super good day because the weather was great.
MoreCool venue. First time going. I WILL be returning. Great sound. You feel close to the stage no matter where you are. There is outside and indoor seating and standing. First come first serve on the seating.
MoreThis place ROCKS with music! I have loved every concert here! They have multiple bars around. The food is fair.
MoreKnuckleheads is a place to go to see your favorite music. They offer all varieties of music. Saturday and Sunday jam. Knuckleheads always been happening place in Kansas City for live music.
MoreVery interesting place. Alot of fun bur bring cash which for its location makes me nervous that people know you may have cash on you because they dont take cards. But, good times
MoreAn outdoor venue with ground floor and balcony seating. Immediately adjoins a railroad crossing. We experienced the disruptive sound of a passing train which, with everyone in a festive mood, maybe added some charm? Seemingly several lots and free street parking. Dancing room on ground level at front of stage constantly occupied. We had a great time. Hope to return.
MoreI scoped out the area in the afternoon ahead of a possible concert, because I would be going by myself. The neighborhood looks sketchy. BUT the venue had lots of people and decent lighting, so it was actually pretty safe. If you can, go in near the venue and park under the railway tracks, which is super close to the entry door. One weird thing is that the bar ONLY takes cash. Otherwise, it was a great venue - cleaner than most, plenty of seating (at least on a Wed. evening), convenient rest rooms.
MoreWent to see Steven and the Seagulls, had an excellent time!! Music was great, wasnt overcrowded, the only thing I didnt like was that my food was cold. There was only one order in front of ours so not sure why it was that way. Will go gain for sure
MoreI go to Carl Butlers Gospel Lounge and listen to the music every Wednesday and the band is great and there is always a special guest and this weeks GUEST was, GREAT
MoreKnuckleheads is a bar/concert venue with multiple stages, so they can have up to 3 acts going at once. This is not always a good thing; if you are in the Gospel Lounge, a small, quiet setting, the music from other stages can bleed over. Its down by the railroad tracks, so you may get some bonus train whistles also. On the more positive side, they consistently have a great lineup of music, so Ill be back.
MoreThis was a unique experience for us. We sat outside although many tables were inside. We went & ordered our food & paid for it. Then outside, we sat, ate, & listened to live blues, performed on stage. We werent able to stay long but were told that many bands would be performing.
MoreIve been to Knuckleheads twice now, both times for a jam session. We are not from Kansas City, so not able to go often. We enjoy the atmosphere very much. Of course, we are of the age that grew up with live music, so this is just part of our life history. Im not a big crowds person, but this was fine for a jam session on a weekend afternoon.
MoreCame here for the first time too see Warren Zeiders. Really enjoyed the venue. Very reasonably priced beers and cocktails. Can’t wait to go back
MoreThe acts are amazing. They truly bring in a good variety of top tier talent. However, the venue is terribly maintained. There seems to be little to no planning. Its cash only.
MoreExcellent venue, always a good time. But beware of the rail traffic cutting you off right before a show from along the north. I highly recommend you take the bridge south of the venue that passes over the railway on chestnut farms road.Bring cash and don’t forget to tip your bartender!
MoreOne of my favorite places to go for live music
There are a lot of good things to say about this music venue. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere, quirky decor and friendly staff. Each stage has its own charm. Both indoor and outdoor stages. There’s good tunes coming from here with classic rock, 80’s, and some country music. The bar is cash only. The food is good and not over priced. When you visit, plan for a very casual atmosphere. Enjoy!Park on the side of the tracks, towards the bar. The railroad track is very active and sometimes it’s impassable. Your Uber may also get stuck on the wrong side of the tracks.
MoreGreat bar to watch a band play. The food was good with other vendors around to sell food. Parking was free. The train added ambiance that is unique. It is open air but inside the bars there are big screens so you can enjoy the concerts inside where it is cool. Bathrooms are clean.
MoreKNUCKLEHEADS ... not just a music venue/bar/ etc at this point. Its a frekkin "institution". Theyve been doin it, and doin it WELL for decades now. With some pretty cool staff members also.
MoreHad agreat time! It may look a little rough, but its clean, has plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the music, and the staff is friendly! Bathrooms are clean!
MoreGreat venue for live music.Such a fun night at the Purple Jam. Always a fun time at Knuckleheads !! 🙂🎸🎶🎹🎺🥁✨💖
MoreAbsolutely Adore Knuckleheads. They have an awesome array or genres of music & concerts!!!This place is so much fun. My favorite is the outdoor concerts!! However, Its a party all year round because they have indoor concerts- outdoor bands are for summer mainly.People are Nice! Staff is Great! Affordable prices!! Handicap accessible and parking- just be early so you get a close spot. One of the best places to go and get your groove on.Its a must so give them a try! For Ages 21 y/o to 100 y/o! They do not disappoint. Knuckleheads is a Blast from past oldies to present modern day. *Blues, bluegrass, jazz, rock, pop, alternative and more. Never a dull moment. Love me some knucks 💛💣💥❤️
MoreSaw The Mavericks all three nights there recently. The place was rockin!!! Knuckleheads is an outside venue but they have a great sound system. Lots of fun.
Moremy favorite venue for live music.the outdoor stage is amazing experience.
By far the best live music venue in Kansas City, heck possibly anywhere! Cool staff, great vibe, and they book great national acts. Also, they dont charge the ridiculous venue prices for a beer or cocktail, that is a nice bonus. Highly Recommended!
MoreAlways go here, best local bands in town.
The blues band totally rocks... wait..! Is that an oximoron? The point is, this is a very fun place if you like good live music, an unpretentious crowd of music lovers and only okay food.Sunday mic night is when, according to locals, this place is at its fullest and best. If you sing or play, you can sign up and be accompanied by or play along by the amazing band.Sorry but true. The food isnt at par with the music but it is totally comprehensible because the venue gets totally packed as it is.You can dance too!Didnt have a chance to check out the restrooms,.i owe you guys that one, but if you are in Kansas City, come and play the blues at Knuckleheads Saloon
MoreNice hangout to watch live music outdoors! Since the Grand Emporium closed years ago, now Knuckleheads is my hangout in KC.
MoreReally cool venue with multiple rooms for bands to play at the same time. Excellent out door area. Full bar, decent bar menu.
MoreBest venue in town. Outside stage, inside, the gospel room and the garage. Favorite shows have been Levee Town, The KC Zeros, Maria The Mexican, Southern Culture on the Skids!
MoreWent to see Carolyn wonderland!!the band that played first was good but an hour is a little long. When Carolyn came on she had a female guitarist who had a nice voice and a drummer And base player. Carolyn played for over an hour and it was awesome. There was a decent crowd but not a long wait for food and drinks. Fifteen dollars was very reasonable to pay for this event.
MoreI love this place! The atmosphere is always welcoming and fun. Make sure to bring cash though, they are kind of old school like that. Stop by to see a jam session or for the band youve been following for several years. Knuckleheads has a little bit of it all.
MoreGreat space for live music and a long menu! The tater tots were top notch a long with the whole vibe of the place...smoking section is upstairs
MoreNote: its cash only. Of course its not a problem, but you need to know before you go. There is an ATM.Such a cool venue!EVERY time I go its a great time.Sundays are jam days where super talented people jam on stage with each other. There are frequent big-name guests through the week. Check online for the schedule. The bar and venue have a gritty feel that is awfully fun when youre unwinding from the work week. The stands that overlook the stage from above set right next to the railroad tracks. Its terribly cool.It can get crowded sometimes, but everyone seems friendly. There seems to always be just enough seating available to find a spot even when its crowded. There is a kitchen, but Ive not had the food. From what Ive seen, it looks like better than average bar food. There is motorcycle-only parking in front, but plenty car parking is available, too.
MoreWent to an outdoor show tonight....Billy Bob Thorntons band The boxmasters and they Rock and the venue is badass youll love it.
MoreSafe venue for late night entertainment whether alone, date night or a group celebration! The drinks are stiff so make sure youve a designated driver or use UBER!
MoreFirst time coming with friends. Had a great time listening to 70/80s music. The band was awesome! FYI bring cash if not an ATM is available. Loved the bubble machines and the fans kept us cool outside while dancing. 🎶🕺💃🎶
MoreA Kansas City classic. One of the better small act venues in the Midwest. They do a great job at supporting the local music scene. Prices are very reasonable. CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM on site. There are free jam sessions if you check the calendar. Food is great, make it part of your visit. There are 4 stages that rotate based on weather and crowd size.
MoreGreat outdoor music venue. I’ve seen several bands play there. Mostly Blues… they have a rich history of supporting the KC Blues scene. Also saw some country bands. They have lots of good acts come through. They are situated right next to the train tracks in the East Bottoms, so you’ll probably hear a train or two during the show. They have a good sized indoor stage also… acts are typically moved in there when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
MoreWe Love this Place. Great Live Music, its our regular hangout place. They have the best Live Music and Cover Bands around Kansas City Missouri. The atmosphere remind you a little bit of Sturgis bike week., Plus the entertainment. Its a lot of Fun. 🙂👍
MoreMy first time at this venue. I saw John 5 and Queensryche. They were great and this is an awesome live music venue! The food, drinks and environment were all 5 stars!Ill start with the drinks. $4 shots of Patron... Great Deal! A wide variety of beer at great prices. Awesome! The only thing was I always had to wait in a line to get a drink. Small thing which probably kept me from drinking too much. The food was pretty good. Not great but much better than average for a place that is focused on drinks and live music. The BBQ pork sandwich with chips was most awesome! I definitely recommend. Burgers and nachos were yummy as well. The venue was sold out so it was full! There are options for seating but it limited. The stage and sound system are great. Again, this was my first show and I drove in from Omaha. Ill be back for sure! The bands crushed it and sounded fantastic. This mix and acoustics were very good. Very well done!!!Im looking forward to my next show at Knuckleheads! Sooner is better!
MoreTook a trip to Knuckleheads with a VIP Larkin Poe package in hand. What an awesome experience!! Theyve made a major improvement to how VIP packages are managed now. Last time we met in another building then had to get in line for the actual concert/show. This time we met the band right in the stage area and remained there for the performance. That was so much appreciated by the attendees. Ill definitely do that again. And, the place it just really cool on top of that. 👍
