Knob Reserve - Park and Garden in Sale, Australia
NAIDOC celebrations were awesome today.Walking track to the lookout is lovely. Information boards are great.
Lovely peaceful location 😌
Fantastic place off the track to explore. Host of aboriginal scar trees to see and beautiful scency. Well worth the stop.
Very spiritual place, meeting place of the GunnaiKurnai peoples for thousands of years.
Interesting
Beautiful place for a picnic
Beautiful little place!
Peaceful and meaningful place close to the Avon river although no easy access to the river.Lots of bird life in amongst river red gums.Clear evidence on some trees of first peoples use of these magnificent old trees.A great place to visit for a picnic, walk or to take in the history of this important location.
This joint is cooooool. There are tonnes of cute little huts with fireplaces and seating. You need to get their early if you want to get the best ones. The view from the lookout Point is stunning and there is prolific interesting wildlife, heaps of wombat holes and wallabys and interesting bird species including some kingfishers. The walks are really nice too.
Great views, loads of places to have a BBQ under shelter and in the open, also benches and picnic tables.
Great tranquil place

Nice place for a quick walk
Great view of the Avon River and Plains from the lookout. Nice location to go for a walk.
Beautiful area for a walk. Nice section of river for fishing, swimming or canoeing.
Took my dog for a long walk through this remnant forest. I particularly enjoyed the outlook over the Avon river. Another reference point for our indigenous history.
Best reserve in Stratty. Nice view of the river Avon
Nice views and a lot to see
A great place to take the little ones adventuring
Beautiful place to admire the Avon in flood
Wonderful old trees along a track that was good for walking
Awesome spot for a fire & BBQ
Trees, Aboriginal heritage
Its a good look out to see the surrounding area.
I grew up in this town .....My parents were married by the tree at the Bluff of the Knob ....... I was a young kid at the first 3 Country Music Festivals there ..... It was a place that became as familiar to us as the Avon River did that runs aside it. The Knob meant as much to the first White Settlers there as it did to the tribes that they encountered in the region. It was a place where Stratty boys who had just enlisted to fight in WWI would practice their marksmanship with their 303.
Only a knob would visit here!
This is where we are having our cultural festival and I am proudly dancing with Watbalimba dance group & representing our Gunnai Kurnai family with HONOUR & PRIDE!!!
Another beaut outdoor nature reserve close to Stratford. Has a number of shelters & buildings with concreye fireplaces for the picnicker on those cold days.
This is a wonderful parkland great for horses, dogs and general walking
The trees are amazing
Worth a look.
nice place to have a picnic or just sit and relax after drive to refresh, there was no water in taps when we were there but could be because it waw summer , not sure
Nice bushland picnic area
Nice reserve just out of town. Spectacular sunsets from the lookout overlooking the river and dairy farms just up the track from the main carpark/recreation area. Sporting and horse facilities. Undercover BBQ and campfire facilities. Nice views of the river, nice trees and plenty of birds.
Good place to walk the dogs.
A lovely place to relax and take in the sights of Stratfords amazing river Avon.
This has been revamped. Now bbqs and tidier. Can light fires in shelter if no bans on. Good views from lookout...
A once beautiful place now looks very sad. Ive been coming here for more than 50 years and its close to my heart but wouldnt recommend it apart from the great view at the lookout above the river. All but one piece of childrens playground equipment has been removed and the two picnic sheds are very dirty. New toilets are the only positive addition. The sealed roads were ripped up and now the dirt road in is covered in pot holes and hasnt been graded in years.
Small reserve. Mainly for horse riders. A tiny bit of 70s infrastructure close to one of the best views in the Area. I have added photos of the view. Once a lookout and camp site for Ancient Aboriginal tribes people say that this is sacred land but that is what white lefties say. About every place the Kernai inhabited. Nothing for tourism, not a single thing but that leaves the area open to explore. You can drive anywhere in the reserve but be wary of dirt roads and fallen trees.
My favourite place
Great spot just have a bbq, a walk and view from lookout very nice
A bit of a shame as this area has such a good history and good BBQ area shame its been let go good views from knob.
