What a large fortress. After paying the entrance fee one can explore the location oneself with a little guidebook that describes 10 places. Unfortunately the labyrinth has Polish language guide only, so we as foreigners did not go there.

Amazing fortress, main route available by yourself or with free guide (some waiting might be required). Additionally you can visit underground tunnels (guide requirednot recommend for people with claustrophobia or weak heart; )Worth the price!

One of the important historic sights to visit in Kłodzko, cost is about 30 zloty, rather expensive for me for a castle. Better to take a tour to get more info

Little and nice antic village...

Very historical place. The signs and narratives provided were good if you’re doing a self tour. The views at the top were amazing.

Interesting place for 1h walk. Parking 4 zl/h at entrance or free around. Amazing how massive walls were hundreds years ago.

We visited mid-November, with snow on the ground and zero temperature. Its a fascinating place, with immense history of conflicts between Prussian and Austrian forces in the 18th century. Its a huge and complex fortress and hard to grasp without a plan or guide, which unfortunately were not supplied. We had guides, first for a tour of the tunnel complex which is not suitable for those who have claustrophobia; some of the tunnels have low ceilings so tall people, like me, beware! The second guide took us through parts above ground, culminating in the keep. Some of the ground is uneven.A great place to visit, including with children if supervised. It would benefit from a visitor guide and a souvenir shop.

Lovely town and quite interesting views from the fortress. Nice walk around with views of the surrounding. Shame that the price of the entrance is so stiff! I would have gave it more stars. 😕

Nothing special, but interesting to see.Guided tour in the labyrinth was in Polish only, and the guide was speaking too fast - we understood close to nothing.. And it was very cold inside (as it was underground).

The queue was way too long to go inside, so we went for a (freewalk alongside the fortress walls instead. This route offers excellent views over the entire city and hills, so I would recommend this alternative if you want to avoid the tourist trap inside.The walking route is a bit hidden. Starting at the base of the fortress, turn right at the first set of stairs instead of left where the paid access is. (Look for the metal staircase)The walking route is easily/safely accessible but does not make a full circle around the fortress, so you either have to backtrack or go down a forest path at the end.

The most famous, distinctive structure in Klodzko is the huge fortress that towers over the city, taking over the hill known earlier as Fortress Mount. It is definetely of the best preserved examples of fortification systems. Please take a tour with guide. It was really interesting.

Worth seeing! Exemplary tour guides team can share historic background of place, filling it with curiosities and willing to explain day-to-day life of garnison. Well preserved anti-mining "labyrinth" allows to experience defece tactics. Every tourist will find something interesting for himself, even if military is not one of one main interests :)

We liked the place. Its interesting for adults as good as for kids. I liked the exhibition of solders life, and our son liked the underground excursion. But be careful with some tricky pieces of tunnels, where you must almost crawl. Not for high people ;)

Amazing fortress with a great view of the town. My favorite part was the guided tour of the defense tunnels. Our tour guide only spoke Polish but they offer pamphlets in English.

If youre passing by then why not got to the top. For a full view over kłodzko + it only takes 5 minutes to get to the top. Very easy to do

Nice view from the fortress walls but the fortress itself is not so interesting unless you take a guided tour. Ticket does not seem cheap though - 27 PLN for adult.

Interesting fortress. In good condition and with depictions of the normal life when it was in use. The open part is not too long, and the guide book is not overloaded with information. Highly recommended. Information in Polish, Czech, German and English.

Awesome fortress, definitely worth to visit. Really cool by itself, by look on the city.Interesting fact: in has great sightview trail under the outer part of the walls.

Beautiful Views of Kłodzko from the top of the Fortress and there are stands where the history of the fortres are written in 4 languages, Polish, English, German and another that I cant recall right now. There are manikins that model scenes from history. You can also visit the tunnle maze underneath with a guide (not sure if english one avaliable but you could askwhere they explain what they were used for with audio effects. It was a really plessant experience!

For those who love history and fortifications. Kilometers of underground tunnels available as well as a half millennium of fortress history. Worth seeing. Around 40PLN tickets.

Beautiful place with a lot of heavy history. You get a lot of information by reading, and the view from the fortress is amazing. The rooms, roads, walls, everything shows good condition that has been taken care of. If you like history, this is definitely a place you should visit

Breathtaking, specially when you see the size of this fortification and if you imagine the life in the fortress in late 18th century.

Lovely place in a beautiful town, very well maintained.

The old fortress is huge and has a huge potential, which is not yet fulfilled in my view. In some parts you can feel the history with the cobblestone paving and stone walls, but some parts are in terrible state - such as the main courtyard with asphalt. In some rooms there is some broken furniture with no use. There is also a souvenir shop with cheap souvenirs from China - but local handmade crafts would be much better. There are too many different types of benches and trash cans. Navigation system is missing, so you just wander around and suddenly you can’t continue further and have to go back. I would denitely recommend an architectursl competition to renovate this cultural heritage and a graphic designer to design information and navigation system.

Was quite cool, especially the underground maze, although the guide could have been more engaged.

Prussian fortress heavily rebuilt during Silezian wars.There are two working places below the fortress. One is free and the second is paid 5zlotych per hour (ca 20 working places).There are two routes which are paid - fortress and labyrint (25 zlotých per person).Look at the pictures it tells reality the best.Labyrint is beautiful - walking 600meters in small halls- one is 1m height, 60 cm width and 16 m long - great experience.You can overlook Kladsko from this city.

It is surprisingly big inside, you dont get that feeling seeing it outside. Staff were very passionate and informative, you could use your credit card to pay for the tickets, one minus is that some parts of the fortress are still under renovation and you cant access them.

Fantastic monument of 18th and 19th century fortress architecture. The best preserved one in this part of Europe. In the interiors there is an exposition presenting every day life of Prussian soldiers. Worth visiting!

Klodzko’s gargantuan military stronghold, perched elegantly on a hill top north of the city centre is the town’s main attraction. The uphill scramble to the gate starts from Czeska street and curls up along a grassy alleyway that affords for an impressive view over the old centre.The entry ticket gives access to an underground network of low twisting passageways and several chambers on top. Consisting of a 1km walk along a series of excavated war tunnels, the underground trip is an interesting history lesson (conducted inside labyrinthine shelters and bizarre minefieldskept alive by a lucid explanation provided by an English-speaking guide. The 40-minute underground tour is followed by a visit to the top of the fortress. Some of the chambers are practically bare and empty of any war or military paraphernalia but their architectural make-up is still interesting to check out. Others house small but unusual exhibitions. The vast collection of historic fire-brigade vehicles and related fire equipment kept in one of the courtyards is the only one in the country.The fortress opens daily for visitors, most of whom are school groups who come from other regions of Poland and so Polish-speaking tours are frequent. Tours by an English-speaking guide are not as frequent but one or two are held daily, more in high season. Before you buy the ticket, consult the timetable you see on the wall beside the ticket office.

An impressive fort. The tunnels are fascinating but, as with all museums in Poland, not much content to look at. However, its a fort and that is what truly impresses! Worth seeing! Great guided tours of both the tunnels and the fort itself. Fantastic food is available from the bar inside the fort.... You pay by weight of food and the choice is superb. Go.... If just for the great food 😀
