Kinney Pioneer Museum - Local history museum in Mason City, United States
It cost more than I was expecting, but they sure have made some nice improvements and have expanded it quite a bit. The cider and donuts were a bonus. I wish we would have had more time.
Lots of interesting displays of local history. An old jail house, schoolhouse, blacksmith, and cabin that you can go into and get a glimpse of pioneer lifestyles. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Great place! Lots to look at. Loved the one room school house. Friendly staff.

Outstanding Americana museum. Countless items from the Midwest that show life from Spanish American War to the 60s.
Fun and informative. I recommend a guided tour
Very good. Enjoyed it very much
We were driving through Iowa from Minnesota and found this museum on the way through I35W. Very surprised to tour a treasure of educational opportunity for our kids. Lot of history, real artifacts, rich cultural information about how people lived, etc., Worth to spend ~4 hours and the persons at front desk was very helpful. We toured this in summer and our kids remembered many things and wanted us post this review - our 1st review ever. Thank you. --- Raj, Vani, Inba and Nesa
The museum has an extensive variety of displays that highlight the life of a pioneer and the history of the area. A visit to the museum is an excellent educational opportunity and a wonderful stroll down memory lane for anyone who grew up in the area, like I did.
Awesome variety of history represented, including a 1911 Colby! And yes theres a lot more than cars, those are just my favorites.
