Hoàng Diệu, Quán Thánh, Hà Noi, Hà Nội, Vietnam, Son Tay
Historic royal residence & onetime military fort on sprawling grounds with a museum & artifacts.
Good
Chinese inspired
One of the remaining structures inside Hanois Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO world heritage site. Spend time to read the information showed around the site to appreciate its history.
Ok
A wall only in here. Nothing.
beautiful
This place is massive, cheap to get in and very interesting to get into. Theres so much history in the whole area it will take you some time to see everything and absorb whats on offer. If you go in the summer remember its best to go as early as you can, bring plenty of cold water and dont over dress!
Beautiful, very attractive.
Worth a visit
Very very nice
Historic and landmarking
Nice to walk around but it is boring.
Pentagon of North Vietnam. Very historical.
Good
If you are visiting Hanoi this is a must seen. I liked the bunker with all the old radios and telephones
Most has been demolished during the 1st Indochina war (1947and subsequent use as a military baracks of North Vietnams army. The stone dragons made during the Le Dynasty (15-16th centuryare the only pre-colonial structure still remains here
Well preserved and a great exhibit documenting ancient history as well as colonial occupation. If you enjoyed the Thanh Long citadel you might also be interested in various relocation of Imperial citadels in Hue City, Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh, and Thanh Nha Ho in the quiet rural town of Vinh Loc in Thanh Hoa province
Interesting place if you like history - but not a must-go.
Fascinating place of times gone by, the actual grounds of plotting and planning by historic figures, repurposed a few times by those in power.
I was a little disappointed; the historic citadel has been demolished several times over time to make way for a different design. What you see now is what the French built and its not that old or interesting to watch. Some of the buildings house collections of artifacts which have been dug up and give you an impression of the style of the several dynasties that had a palace here but there comes a moment in life that you have seen enough pot and porcelain fragments and I have reached that moment a long time ago. There is, of course, a rich history behind the citadel but I dont feel like you have to be here to get a sense of that because theres little to show for it.The characteristic flag tower looks more interesting but it has been incorporated into the grounds of the War History Museum so you need a ticket for that museum to see it.
Interesting historical sight. Worth a look around. Quite a peaceful place to be.
Nice place to have a walk and explore the Hanoi history.
its look great. Recommended for those who loves history
Vért nice, the entrance fee is 30.000 VND
Peaceful place to wander through some great exhibits. Archeological digs are very interesting.
Nice public space in Hanoi
Just at the entrance, in the ticket booth area there was a small war exhibition, while the artifacts on display were interesting; there was a Bren Gun, a Berthier Mle 1907, or what I presumed to be a Berthier Mle 1907, I couldnt tell as there where no labels other than "rifle, mainly used to kill" and this sort of labeling was not only prominent in guns, it was also present in other artifacts such as pictures and books, which led to lack of information. Once inside it was... barren, not only was there little to see but was available was poorly indicated.
DO see the underground bunkers used during the "American war," so interesting!
This is a beautiful piece of architecture.
Lots of history here. We really enjoyed our visit. From the architecture to its history and art exhibits, you could easily spend a few hours here.
Impressive !. You can follow the exhibition in French or English, if you want to know more about the history of Vietnam you should go !
Underwhelming and poorly maintained as opposed to other UNESCO sites
Great historic landmark and interesting place to learn about history.

This was where the most important building of Vietnam once stood in pre-colonial times; the emperors residential area was located here before the French tore it down for their Artillery Barracks.
Good
Hanoi Citadel
Nice Place
Have been there this summer. A quite impressive place in the center of Hanoi. Good for photo shooting with models or just a walkthrough with your family.

Quite big area to explore and many buildings to enter. Seems in constant developing.

Most of this artifact has been destroyed in the was, the remaining is a small part
GOOD
Place show all the ancient artifacts of Vietnam around 1000 years ago.Wide open space inside and several building housing the artifacts. There will be lunch break time around 1130 to 2. Just take note of the timing
Interesting place, had some cool banzai trees in the front courtyard. If you make it towards the back, theres a military bunker you can go down.
