33 Kingston St, Cambridge CB1 2NU, Santa Lucia
Independent pub with a sizable garden, serving locally-sourced dishes and hand-pumped real ales.
Great quality food, love the menu and perfect outdoor space too.
My fave restaurant / “gastropub” in Cambridge by a long way. £1 oysters on Monday are incredible. Chef knows what he’s doing and puts on an adventurous and always tasty menu.
Best and most popular pub in Cambridge ruined :( over priced, no atmosphere no happy customers. Was the best pub in Cambridge and will be missed!
The food is absolutely amazing. And an really good value too!Sadly that cant be said about the wine which ruined the whole experience for me. Theyre all probably good wines, but the place doesnt have good enough ambience to serve £15/glass wines which, aside from the house wine, is the cheapest you can get (and the house is not that much cheaper). The place is a (not even very muchrepurposed PUB. It smells of spilled beer when you enter and it does feel cozy, but thats a place where Id want to drink many glasses of drinkable cheap wine, not a single glass of fancy wine. If I want a price tag of £50 for wine, Id go to Cambridge Wine Merchants, buy the most delicious bottle they have and enjoy it at home.If they had some affordable wine, it would be my favourite place in Cambridge and Id come there every week
Massive shame a hugely Popular pub serving superb Ale has gone. Worse still its replaced with a wine bar that sells wine on draught?! and dull other drink offerings. Personally found the ambiance cold. Other reviews good so maybe its just the loss of one of the best pubs in Cambridgeshire
Used to love this pub, lost its vibe and 5:50 for a not great pint
An amazing place where excellent food and wine (thanks to the marvellous Richardmeet at a chilled and unassuming vibe. I go there all the time!
DISAPPOINTED This was a great pub, now a drowned by sound wine bar.It does still sell beer, but at the prices, Id suggest not much.
Lovely food "hummus" and ambiance 👌
Love this place! Melt in the mouth food, perfect service, buzzing and unpretentious atmosphere. Keep wanting to try somewhere else but I cant keep away from the Kingston Arms. Absolutely faultless
Food and service were okay-ish. We had to wait for our main dish longer than 20mins and found that our order was missed out. No proper apologies but we were told that it takes longer so please wait. Honestly, it was not worth waiting. Blend and just average. Wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend either.
Fantastic wine bar/pub. The atmosphere, the music, the staff, the food and the wine are all 10/10. I highly recommend
Fantastic spot for … everything! Cocktails, food, oysters, and you can still get a proper pint when you want it. Surprisingly reasonable prices too. I will be back…
This has changed hands and needs the support! Yes it isnt the same but the beer still tastes delicious and the staff are really lovely. The pub is as wonderful as ever.
A nice selection for food and each item is outstanding, also great for sharing. The wine is curated by a sommelier and the drinks menu is quite extensive. From £3.80 for a surprise glass to some really unique bottles and wine by the glass. My favourite place for food and drink.
Welcoming and friendly staff. A nice atmosphere and we enjoyed what is a new and interesting menu. The artichokes were something I have not tried before in their full form and the sliced rump could be forgiven for being sirloin carpaccio. Extremely tasty fair and all of the dishes on the menu compliment each other I feel. Well done staff and keep it up!
Great food, great beer ❤️
Excellent food, great service, amazing wine.
Who would imagine that the best hummus in Cambridge is in the Kingston Arms. Luckily I know that now
Good food and drinks available. A lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Visited several times. Fantastic food, excellent hummus, very nice bar service and wine too.
Decent pub. Pleasant staff. Would recommend for a pint or glass of wine.
The best pub in Cambridge due to the amazing menu and beautiful backyard 👌
Cute and cosy pub restaurant. Nice outside seating at the back, would suit going for a bottle of wine and sharing food
Really love it here. I have been a few times with different friends and family when they have visited . The staff are so friendly and I love that you can either stay for a more substantial meal or just pop in for a quick drink. The wine list is super impressive and the vibe of the space is relaxed but still feels like an occasion. Also, they are dog friendly!
They changed the place now it is more like a restaurant and less a pub but the food was amazing and the stuff there was extremely friendly!
We were very disappointed ,most it our dishes consisted of chickpeas and a small portion of belly pork which was undercooked,. The wine was not to my taste. The total cost of the meal came close to £100 way over priced.Would definitely not recommend 👎👎👎
This used to be cracking pub offering a wide selection of real ale, always busy, with a vibrant atmosphere now trying to deter former customers by charging £5.50 for a very average pint (choice of twoand instructing them, on entry, where they can stand. Ignored this to sit at a table and was rudely told to vacate it (the place was virtually empty at 7pm on a Sat night). We left soon after. One star is generous.
Exquisite is the only word I can think to describe the Kingston Arms, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic hosts, wine lists you can only dream of and High quality selection of hummus and other delicious morsels! Cant wait to go back! Would definitely recommend if you are in Cambridge to visit this establishment.
Really amazing food! High end modern Israeli cuisine with a bit of a Spanish fusion in the heart of Cambridge for a fair price in a pub atmosphere- what else could you want? And chef Maoz is always extremely friendly. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food and wine. I wish I could eat here every day
New owners, great food and drink and a lovely laid back vibe. May well have knocked Cambridge Blue off the top spot for me as best bar in Cambridge. If they did cocktails I think Id pitch a tent in the back garden and just live there!
The place is nice and peaceful, so you can have a conversation at normal volume when is full. The food is pretty nice and in big quantities, so you can see enjoy a bear and hummus for 2 and have a nice dinner. We also discovered a nice new way of eating the hummus 🤩.I will repeat and I absolutely recommend it.
First visit since refurbishment and new ownership. Great wine selection and yummy menu. Lovely garden area and friendly staff.
This fantastic independent pub’s focus is now Kitchen, Hummus and Wine and they delivered on all counts. Featuring a menu of fresh, seasonal ingredients it was a pleasure to taste what chef Maoz Alonim and his team created in the kitchen. The menu was simple and not overly descriptive, done purposely to accommodate creativity and changing produce. Our waiter had a detailed understanding of the ingredients and methods of preparation of each dish. The varied and impressive wine list included bottles from Argentina, Armenia and Palestine, alongside favourites from Spain, Italy, etc. A sommelier was on hand (in a non-pretentious wayto help choose. I enjoyed my glass of Argentinian white wine. The silky hummus and puffy pittas were simply amazing. I ordered a half portion of the hummus but will have it as a main course next time (it comes with lamb or mushrooms, for example). We feasted on a parade of dishes: oysters, hummus (with pitta and pickles), labneh, chorizo, pan con tomate, bottarga, challah and pulled crab on toast. Glad I left room for their famous biscuit cake. We sat in the covered walled garden under the heaters but the inside is also inviting and has distanced tables. A welcome addition to the foodie scene in Cambridge!
Excellent food, well put together wine list, lovely garden area and friendly knowledgeable staff, will return and highly recommend.
Such a tasty food, amazing wine list and the service is very friendly!
Great food, great wine, great atmosphere...whats not to like. Definitely recommend it if you like all the above .
The best meal I have eaten out in Cambridge. Very fresh ingredients, prepared perfectly and paired with original flavour combinations. An extensive wine list. I could eat the hummus and pitta everyday!
It was good and one of the waiters was super funny in a weird way! The staff were generally all friendly.
Wonderful food , lovely atmosphere and excellent service. One of the best places to eat and drink in Cambridge.
Courtyard is beautiful and covered in preparation of the British summer! Staff very friendly but food and drinks very expensive. Cheapest bottle of wine was about £38. Bowl of hummus was £11, though it was delicious. The menu had to be explained by the waiter, thought that was pretentious, why not just provide a menu which describes the food they are selling? The "pickles": that accompanied the pita bread were: 1/4 raw, unpeeled, unsliced onion ; 2/4 large tomatoes (not sure how I was supposed to cut them with a standard knife); small, hard, green olives; gherkins. The sommelier was very friendly but I dont need one to help me choose a wine to go with my bread and hummus. Sadly I wont return, it used to be a great pub, sad to see it go this way but am sure it will do well with the wealthy residents from the mill road area.
Great Pacific ale on tap, friendly service and yummy food, good vibes !
This is a truly lovely place, the food it beautiful (to look at and to eat), there is also a great wine list and some delicious after dinner drinks too.If your a Foodie then this is a must! Also outstanding services from all of the staff, who are warm and welcoming and made it feel so relaxing.
I had Arayes and apple juice. They were both very nice. Arayes was a tasty mix of lamb and beef meat served with a few cooked veggies. The apple juice was local and fantastic. The staff was kind, helpful and quick. The terrace/garden is small and the tables quite close to each other but ot was a covered area, so it wasnt too windy or cold. The decoration is very nice with beautiful details.
Food is delicious! Highly recommend the Jackson five, an assortment of veg dishes, and of course hummus & pita!
Came here for the first time because of a recommendation, even though weve lived nearby for years. The service was absolutely first class, and we truly felt transported away from Cambridge to the sunnier climbs of the streets of Spain.Leti was so friendly and clearly passionate about what she is doing, I hope she can have the inside open in May as the interior is looking refreshed and very stylish. The alfresco dining out the back of the pub has a great atmosphere and you feel part of the action as you watch the chefs at work. The food is brilliant, the first time weve had oysters in a pub in Cambridge and we have already booked to come back at the weekend for dinner. Cant wait!
They just smash the hummus and excellent service. Highly recommended and thank you very much for following covid-19 rules. After the lockdowns, I should visit there more often.
Best hummus Ive had in a long time!
Fantastic food and service! Great place, highly recommended
