Kings Weston Roman Villa - Archaeological museum in Bristol, United Kingdom
The Villa is NOT open 24 hours, Mr. Google. It’s an open air site, but the information panels are behind a fence and therefore impossible to read.Anyone interested should previously contact the Bristol museum to avoid disappointments.
Really informitive staff so my grandson learnt alot. A few fun activites, but this could of been improves with some simple colouring in and an extra table so there was more spaces for children to join in. A good hours experience on the whole in our local community.
Brilliant small scale villa. Only open occasionally, dont miss it!
Foundations of a roman villa that you can admire from beyond a chain link fence protecting it.Street parking in the adjacent housing estate that surrounds it!
Could do with DIY sos calling in.
Contrary to what it says on Google, this site is not open to visitors. The site is surrounded by wire security fencing: you can see the remains of the villa through this, but youll need binoculars to read the information panels. There is a padlocked gate, but no info regarding opening times. In fact, the whole thing looks abandoned.
Its only open on certain dates - check with the museum service.
I actually got to see this when I went to the primary school in the 80s, we got access to the hut and to view that beautiful mosaic.. we had a roman style banquet in the hut.
Access to mosaics currently closed
Very intresting to see
Its very rear that I will stop to really look at this attraction. I dont no the the story about this place or even its meaning for been where it is. I have never been inside the shed at is next to this place. So I dont no what connection the shed has with the roman villa. And I have never seen the Roman villa open to the public. Or residents of Lawrence Weston.
really interesting
Historic Roman history in england
A little small
It looks nice and I learned a lot about Roman villas
Just brilliant
Enjoyed my short visit
Very interesting tour around the site with lots of information from Gail Boyle.
Love view.
Its a con the mosaic was moved from a different part of Bristol!
Nice place.
malo do zwiedzania
What an adventure. First you have to get the keys from the Blaise Castle House Museum, then let yourself in to see the roman mosaic. Its just brilliant.
I was working there the day it was discovered ,working as a apprentice plumber,aged16years.still up the road now 84years
I took a walk out here to take a look at the ruins. I understood that some of it was inside a building to protect it and that you need to collect the key from the council or the museum at the top of Park Street if you want to get inside. I hadnt realised that there would be a high fence all around the outside area too and that this would also be locked up.There are information boards in the outside area but unfortunately they are too far away from the fence to be readable which is a real shame.
glad the council keep our history just a shame its not open more
