Lively pub hosting regular karaoke, discos and live music, with a restaurant area and a beer garden.
Is a 30 spacious local pub with a very local atmosphere where the staff and the regulars know each other well. Can be a little disconcerning if youre just popping in.Decent sized restaurant area.
Cozy place to have a nice meal, staffs are super courteous, are were really welcome to me and my family.Since we are immigrants, sometimes Im afraid of speaking wrongly the english language, but staffs made me comfortable at my own time and generous!Definitely coming back another time to enjoy that place again!Oh, and the steak ale pie is one of the best food Ive tried so far in the UK, I super recommend it
Guinness & pizza. Was my local before I emigrated to Adelaide, very friendly staff & good food.
Good Sunday Roast. Steaks were decent. Liked the ambience. Ample parking. Has outdoor seating also.
We had a lovely sunday roast. We liked the food, the ambience and the service.
Lovely friendly service food good, our first visit since pandemicUsed to be our weekly place to visit
I popped into this pub for a quick drink and thought it was a huge pub but I thought most of it is taken up by a restaurant and the bar around the side there was football on the TV when I entered the bar there was also a lot of outside space which is where I went it also had a big car park anyway I enjoyed my drink there and if I was in the area again I would pop in again
Good food, great beer selection
Sunday roast as it’s fines.
I have always liked this pub over rhe past 20 years. Wont lie sometimes the food has not been on parr. Sunday the steak was lovely, shame they had ran out of the roast dinners at 2.30.Short staff but still did their bestGlad to see they have entertainment back on. Will have to check a weekend evening to see what its like.Bottom line. Nice to see a pub not closed down. They do need to put flower baskets back on the front of the pub to make it look more attractive.
Nice place to sit outside, in the shade as it was an extremely hot day. We made our choice of food and went to the bar to place an order, to be told "we dont do sandwiches at the weekend" fair enough, but we should have been told or, it should state it on the menu. Went back to our table to find alternative, returned to the bar to order, to be told we dont have gammon! Back to the table to find something else off the menu, returned to the bar, finally success! Food came no salad garnish! We ordered chicken goujons and prawn cocktail off the starters. Food wasnt particularly good. Wouldnt return. We were told that there was a shortage of staff in the kitchen. Fair enough, but please, before customers order from the menu tell them whats available and what isnt if you are not offering everything off the menu. It causes frustration to your customers.
Nice pub with a great beer garden and friendly helpful staff. Well worth a look.
really rate the amazing staff at this local pub. when i bring residents from echelforde care, the staff are super attentive and always organise these group meals well. friday nights are always busy but always enough staff who are happy to help. great drink selection and lots of events advertised here. would highly recommend this friendly local pub.
Kings Head is under new Management & it showed. More effecient service less waiting time than last year. Friendly waiting & bar staff. Good food.. value for money food , scampi great, big menu choice, ..hot choc fudge pud ..
I was looking forward to having Sunday lunch last Sunday. I ordered roast beef for myself and roast turkey for my wife. I was very disappointed. Neither of us had a Yorkshire pudding and after reporting it we were given them but were cold. My wife didnt have pigs in blankets and I wasnt served horseradish sauce. Overall the meals were disgusting.
Staff was amazing all round, had an amazing time. Will definitely be back.
Great pub! Very helpful and great services would recommend to friends and family.
Popped in for lunch when in the area, staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and the quality of the food was great, good value for money too.Definitely recommend for a weekday lunch.
Amazing service was really quick at getting the food to customers all the staff was really polite and very professional would highly recommend this place to anyone honestly I couldnt fought it one bit
Really lovely pub. Lovely atmosphere & the staff were friendly & very quick to serve you. Drinks are reasonably priced & the food selection was really good. Food was delivered piping hot & was really yummy. Will def be coming back again.
Went with my wife, last visit was over 20 years ago and it was good then. The bar staff were not exactly friendly and attentive, this is definitely a clicky regulars pub. We went for food was asked what table we replied dont know well go outside so was told theres a different menu thats outside on the table I would have thought they would have some at the bar so paid for drinks needed to ask for receipt looked at the menu which is not too dissimilar to the indoor one went back in to order waited for two bar staff to finish serving 1 regular, ordered needed to ask for receipt again. Food came placed on table not asked if we wanted condiments or cutlery just left to our own devices. Its a shame cos food was good but the service and overall experience was not great. We may go back as we live 0.4 miles away but wont be my first choice.
What I like, it is a pub that serves food. A locals place. Not a restaurant that has a bar.. food is good, no frills and reasonably priced.
Service was extremely slow, when food did arrive it had been kept warm too long after cooking. The bread was hard and inedible on the baguette. The nan bread was hard and inedible. The gammon steak was dried up and impossible to eat - took it home for the dog.Website says wheelchair accessible, most doors had steps, only level entry door opened from inside, and a stranger went and opened it up for us. When inside, only small area (luckily including the toiletswas on that level. No access to main bar - where food and drink orders taken. If our entire group had been in wheelchairs wed have just left at the first door - which we really wished we had. Waste of time and money.
Polite, efficient staff. Good food, well organised. Everyone was happy.
fantastic pub a great place for food, football and cold lager! il be coming back more often now ive found it
Highly recommend kings head for lunch! Great service with lovely staff. Food was tasty and they do some great deals!
Great bar staff and amazing food and every time I go there I always feel welcome
I spent a lovely evening here with my friends. The food and service here is always brilliant. The staff are always cheerful, jolly, helpful and accommodating. They anticipate what you may need and make great suggestions for drinks or food to enable you to get the best deal. It is always a great atmosphere in the Kings head and we will return again soon. Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing.
I attended a wake here (approx 50 people). We were in a side area with respected privacy.Clean pub, good spread of food and large carpark.
Nice separate room for a small group to have a drink together. Crowded bar area with not enough staff so took ages to be served on a Saturday night.
My friend & I had been looking for a pub that did a Sunday roast, I was informed The Kings Head did. I will definitely not be going back. We ordered our food which appeared less than five minutes later, it was obviously already been plated up & reheated. It was the worse roast dinner I have ever had. So disappointing. This place has really gone down hill since the last time I was there.
First time in here last week, although my partner has been before. We had food which was very reasonably priced and nice for the money, especially the pizza 🍕 .We will definitely be back 👍🏼As a side note; In the past we have tried to visit and use the electric car charger ⚡️ but on several occasions it just wouldn’t work, which isn’t the pubs fault I accept but it lost trade as obviously we would of been in for at least a few drinks if not food too.
Not a bad pub in general but staff are so slow. There is a fire exit door where there was a table next to it and we were sitting there and people + kids keep knocking that door and their friends keep opening it. I know it’s a fire exit and has to be open but that doesn’t mean you can always use it, which made the whole place cold. Also what are kids doing there after 7pm? I saw some tanagers bought 2 bottles of wines and went to drink them.
Loved the pizza, nice pub nice staff.Good stop off on the way to see family.Would recommend.
Back after a long absence as this pub went downhill. Well what a surpise, when we came in a cheerful lady was cleaning but still had time to be welcoming. Pub looks so much cleaner and brighter. The food was amazing, seems they have a new chef - lets all hope he stays as he will definately help pull the pub round and get its once great reputation back. So impressed we have book for sunday lunch!!
Friendly staff, good service and great food.Very attentive staff and a really nice atmosphere
The food was delicious, but the landlord wasnt very welcoming..had his ear stuck to his phone while taking our order at the bar..a little bit of good customer service goes a long way.
Service was fantastic. Hayden was an excellent member of staff who made us feel super welcome. Vegan options were very impressive and a lot better than similar pubs. Food was well priced and tasty, especially the cauliflower wings.Very happy.
The pub is ok if you like Marstons pedigree and Wainwright golden ale.Other than that its all the usual keg lager at the bar.Food it quite good to .quite lively no music but TV screens at each end of the pubLarge back garden and good parking area also served by buses close by.
My daughter and I went for lunch, we only had 1 hour and a lovely attentive waitress saw that we got our food quickly. She checked up on us, which I see as good customer service.Food was lovely and hot, price was decent!
Came here to have a meal with a friend. Booked a table, but was no point as there wasnt anyone to welcome us.No table service, so have to order food at the bar. If you dont drink there regularly dont expect to be served quickly.Food was OK, but unfortunately due to the lack of service I will not be eating here again.
Food has improved. I had a very good lasagne with a vinaigrette dressing on salad, my friend had sharing nachos with added pulled pork. Good offer on bottled beers and ciders. Good service and the staff very helpful.
Beer garden is nice. Prices are ok for alcohol. Food prices are reasonable and friendly staff. Nice for a family meal. They have themed nights too. Quiz night Wednesday is one
Had to wait for our meals for over half an hour. One meal was served the other 3 was not. Outside needs a good clean. Like tables and seating. As had lots of tree debris on them. Staff was very sparse but friendly.
Abysmal service. I placed my drinks order at 17:19. By 17:45 it still hadnt arrived even though other people who came after us were served first. My partner and I even saw a guy from table 52 go to the bar and got served at the bar when its supposed to be table service as per covid guidelines. My partner and I went to the bar to enquire about our drinks and our drinks were just sat there getting warm while other peoples orders were getting delivered. The staff were dismissive of my complaints and denied that someone was served at the bar even though we saw it with our own eyes. Awful pub with incompetent staff and terrible customer service.I will not be going there again.
The place has gone so far downhill since new management. Visited this weekend and waited 45 minutes for drinks and food. Waited so long for our third drink and food that we decided to give up and move on to somewhere else. Tried to call a member of staff over before leaving to get our money back but after numerous attempts and being told they’d be back in a second we gave up. Used to be in there every weekend and had a great relationship with bar staff and management. We have found the new manager to be rude, extremely unhelpful and unwelcoming and after many problems with him we have decided to take our business elsewhere.
I’ve been to this pub several times and always had good service but today when arrived there was no one to greet at the garden so we decided to go in and sat at an empty table (freeminutes later someone came out shouting in front of all other customers asking if we had checked in as was supposed to wait outside! The guy was rude and made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed...so there wasn’t a mood for spending my hard earned money in there so we left, you would expect pubs to welcome their customers with smiles on their faces as they have been closed for so long and need the revenue.won’t be seeing my money anymore that’s for sure.
We had a table booked for 5.30pm yesterday , after we arrived we were approached from a waiter or manager on the door ,and wanted to seat as on the table that was exactly next to the entrance . We asked if he can give us another table , but he said you take this one or you go .. how rude and careless... so we decided to leave , we were going regularly before the lockdown , as we live locally, but I we will not go back ever again . It seems to me no one doesn’t care there for costumers, if you loose them so easy , and treat them like this , if there was a zero star rating I would give it ! But I would like to thank to that guy, as in the end of the day we had a fantastic meal at The King’s Fairway , which is less than 5minutes away from where you are . The food was amazing , and the service was wonderful. You should go there and have a look how things need to be done , so maybe you can learn , something about hospitality and how to keep costumers ..
We visited on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago for a relaxed Friday night meal and a drink. Having not checked out the menu beforehand, we were very pleasantly surprised to find that we could order burgers for just £5, even on a Friday evening! Given that we’re vegetarian, we were also very pleased to see we still had some good options. For drinks, we had a couple of cocktails - my wife had a “Purple Rain” and I had a “Godfather”. These were very well priced also at two for £8, which is again very good value for a Friday evening. We sat in the eating area towards the back of the pub where it was relatively quiet and comfortable. The place could probably do with a good clean or refurbishment though, or that area at least. We ordered a halloumi burger and the “Moving Mountains” burger to share, and got both of these for just £5 each which was brilliant. Both burgers were really good, and were served incredibly quickly as well. The Moving Mountains burger is tasty, but still doesn’t beat the “Beyond Meat” burgers!! There was a bit of a wait for the drinks, but they did bring these to the table which was nice. The only downside with the food was the very small amount of chips we were given, which made half of the plate look very sparse! If we’d known that was going to be the case, we’d have happily paid a little more for an extra portion between us.All in all, this was a really good meal considering how low the cost was, and we’d definitely look at going back in future.
First time here, the mixed grill was cooked lovely! But was rather small in portions and i was abit disappointed. The atmosphere was good and the staff very friendly! I will definitely go back again. Overall it was a pleasant evening.
