Cosy pub with a fireplace & patio serving creative comfort fare, cocktails & pints, plus live music.
Great atmosphere. Food truck in attendance and their food was excellent.
Dazzling bar staff. Exquisite lager and outstandingly personalised service. Topping evening out!
Excellent pub with simply amazing patrons. Great friendly welcome and really good fresh beers on tap. Food wasnt bad either and I would have given it a 5 star rating if not for the super delay in getting food order filled. That said, it is a cosy looking pub with lots of authentic countryside charm. Love it.Update: they have a fairly decent size garden at the back to sit in at.
Depends what youre looking for, in my opinion this is the best pub in Wendover. Great garden, nice beers and amazing staff!
Best Ale in the local are hands down
Excellent community pub with great atmosphere.
Best pub in Wendover. Great selection of beers and considerate landlords.
Saturday afternoon pint and snack after the local rugby with my son. Top stop off.
Lovely little garden in the Sun, and strong ciders, awesome 👌
Lovely pub with very friendly and welcoming staff
Sorry about that!!! Wrong place. I think a friend is signed into my google account!! I’m from London not Aylesbury. I thought this was a pub some friends n I visited in Stroud! Sorry @Owner of King and Queen! 😅😂
Great people who know how to run a pubFantastic range of Beers and spirit 😹
Always a welcoming pub with a wide range of well kept beverages available. Plenty to look at as well as every nook and cranny has interesting items, art and artefacts on display.Highest recommendation.
Great atmosphere, friendly service. Suave food truck provided quick delicious meals.
Very good pub. It is small but very friendly staff.
Excellent pub, great food and service
If Carlsberg did bar staff this wouldnt be where they worked! More personalty in a dead fish. They obviously dont like strangers!
Nice pub, great beers, good service, reasonably priced. Good pub vibes, best in town.
First pub Ive been to since moving to Wendover a year ago. Really friendly staff, great food and Guinness. Good sized portions, my daughter couldnt finish her delicious chips. Will be coming back.
I enjoyed it here. Lovely garden area, friendly staff. I have no idea what local cider I was drinking but it was delicious and certainly did the job...
Lovely range of drinks, including delicious craft beers. Yummy food, friendly staff, great atmosphere and a lovely selection of books for those in search of a a chilled afternoon.
Very hospitable, friendly pub with good pub food. We went as a large group of friends, preordered food and sat under cover outdoors. The pub made us feel very welcome and catered for all our needs. Much appreciated.
Lovely little pub, good selection of well kept beers and a decent selection of food with the odd outside food van.
Super friendly service, the back garden is covered so we couldnt appreciate the sun. Decent selection of drinks and food
Great little pub that you could easily miss while passing through Wendover. Friendly and attentive staff with a nice beer garden.
Great country pub with a friendly team. They have set up the venue to respect social distancing and have hand sanitiser available. Has a big garden with sheltered seating and the pub has its own car park. Didnt eat here but they serve food
Overall a good pub. We got a bit of a frosty reception, but I guess that’s because we weren’t locals. Roast potatoes were frozen/store bought. Don’t go here if you are worried about Covid.
Very friendly pub, good selection of beers and great chips!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere with outside seating feels like home from home the landlords cant do enough for you. Very highly recommend everybody to visit oh and the food is outstanding. Will definitely be visiting again when back in the area.
Sunday roast - I was disappointed as the reviews suggested the food is really good here; however I was underwhelmed by my Sunday roast. I dont think you get much for what you pay, for example it would have been nice to have some stuffing considering the cost is £14. Would not return unfortunately.
Had a wonderful lunch today at the King and Queen pub in Wendover. The service was superb. Thank you for fitting us in. Compliments to the chef, all the food was fantastic, my veggie Shepards pie was very tasty. Will come back for that sticky toffee pudding, it looked lush.
Great pub. Good beer.
Great staff in a great location. Gin menu is a nice touch unfortunately the kitchen wasnt open but the food has been recommended so need to head back soon.
Pleasant staff, cosy atmosphere inside, garden out the back is a nice place to sit in the summer.Great food (try the spicy bean burgerand a huge gin menu. Some cool chintzy mexican decor around the place as well.Would come back again. This place is doing it right.
Exceptionally lovely pub in Wendover, lovely staff and landlady, excellent beers, food and atmosphere, our Morris side, Owlswick Morris and the Barefoot Belly dancers were made very welcome by all. So nice to be back again.
Wow, the food and service here were amazing. Such a lovely little pub, proper old school, with a nice beer garden. Great beers on tap and a fantastic selection of gins. Check out the old cellar... 😁
We have just held a wake at the King and Queen for my father in law. Pete and his staff were amazing as they were not given much notice. They provided lovely food and endless cups of tea and coffee! Making all our guests very welcome. Thank you
Great atmosphere, cosy welcoming and great beer. We were looking for a pub with a log fire and stopped in for a quiet drink and enjoyed it immensely. The food looked great so we will cone back to sample the sunday roast. Very welcoming for the kids and they even threw in some free roast potatoes 😀5/5 the kind of pub that you would love to have on your doorstep.
Absolutely wonderful hosts - since Shelley and Pete took over this place has become the haunt of regular locals . Always welcoming and good place to meet people . Also has great music nights - and quiz’s nights.
Adorable little pub with some fascinating tidbits of history. Be sure to check out the little feature to the right of the bar (its under Plexiglas. You cant miss it if you know where to look). Also be sure to ask the folks behind the bar to show you the old graffiti on the front stoop (slightly vulgar. Whether or not it was on purpose, thats for you to decide!). Foodwise, definitely try the nachos. The pie is also delicious. Great stop on a bike ride!
Lovely homely friendly pub with real home cooked food thats great. Seasoning can be hit and miss with some bits being quite bland but otherwise perfectly cooked.
Very friendly staff, cosy pub, good craft ales, good hot food with dairy free options. Dog friendly, parking and well located for walkers in nearby Wendover woods which are easily accessible for example from Beechwood Lane in Wendover.
Great pub. As mountain bikers were always made to feel welcome regardless of the mud! Large selection of quality beers. Very good pub grub too.
Best pub in wendover. If youre going to be paying Wendover prices you might as well do it in the best one with the nicest ales (always two great craft ales on at one time). Friendly owners, quaintest of pubs and a lovely garden out the back. Smashing.
Our first visit. Friendly staff. I had crab linguine, which was excellent. Hubby had fish & chips which he says were good. Limited menu, but worth a visit. Will go again. Good portion size. Prices reasonable. Beer was nice too.
We had the pleasure of spending Sunday afternoon 2nd July in the King & Queen beer garden watching & listening to the Tex Pistols,it was just brilliant. A barbeque was put on instead of their usual Sunday dinner, the drinks service at the bar was very quick, all in all it was the most perfect afternoon & the sun didnt stop shining. Thanks to all involved.
New real ales every week.Staff very friendlyCan get very busyBook table for sunday lunch at least 4 days in advance.Would highly recommend it.
Great pub serving a reasonably priced and delicious Sunday lunch. Great selection of beers with very interesting craft beers. Highly recommended!
A good local pub with decent food at good prices. The selection of drink behind the bar is good and the staff are very friendly. The food itself wasnt top notch, the burger did not have a huge amount of taste to it and it took a fair while for food to come out, but they were very accommodating and friendly.
I am lost for word when trying to describe this wonderful pub. Food and beer is great and the atmosphere is welcoming and within minutes it feels like home away from home.I it really worth a detour.
