King Tomislav in Zagreb

Good place for meeting friends.

A nice place to see during the day and a really romantic spot to enjoy the night

A large park with a statue of a king, a fountain and a large art pavilion, located in the central part of Zagreb. The park, which technically is three parks combined, but they blend into one, links the train station to the Old Lower Town from where its just a short walk to the Upper Town. Its a nice public space lined with trees along the two one way streets that encapsulate it. Surprisingly there are not many cafes or bars with sitting areas located on the street. There are a few, and they are mostly hidden in the courtyards so they have no view of the park.

Amazing place to enjoy solitude. A nice park to sit. Start your city walk from here and take a peak into the history of Zagreb. There are a lot of parks and places to visit. Follow towards the park city centre and then walk to the upper town, finally come down and visit the tunnel for a perfect zagreb city walk.

One of my favourite places in Zagreb. Close to Zrinjevac, the green oasis in the city centre. Dominated by the statue of King Tomislav, the one who is said to form the first Croatian state in the 10th century.

This is one of the nicest squares and busiest in Zagreb.King Tomislavs Square is right in front of the Zagreb Main Railway Station.This is also a stop of many of the cities trams. Here you can purchase tickets for the tram and also a quick drink or snacks from the small tobacco shops.Tomislav was the king who ruled Croatia in the Middle Ages.The equestrian statue on the square opposite the railway station is King Tomislav.The yellow building behind the Kings statue is Croatian national art.

For many of us, this square is the first impression of the City of Zagreb, and what an awesome first impression it is! You may get out from the main train station and in front of you will be beautiful square with park. Monument of King Tomislav, yellow Art Pavilion building (which was originally built in Budapest, and brought to Zagreb in pieces after the end of an exhibition), and cathedral in the background. Left of you, there is a white monumental building of the Esplanade hotel and the Croatian railways building across the street. Right of you is the post office with an monument to Holocaust (which was controversial for not explicitly addressing local Croatian WWII context and crimes). Not far from there is the central city square, national theatre, upper town (after all, Zagreb is relatively small cityso even if you have just 2-3 hours you may still be able to get around some of major attractions.

Very nice park and great place to go for a walk. Too bad a lot of the museums are still closed because of the earthquake.

One of the most beautiful squares in Zagreb! In late spring and summer it is most wonderful to stay here because then you can see the trees and flowers at their peak colorful. Children love to play, couples kiss on the bench and individuals sunbathe on the lawn. The fountain cools nicely when it is very hot, and the tram station and train station are right next door.

If you are visiting Zagreb, this square is a must for a lovely walk or just to sit and enjoy the views! Lovely during every season!

Very good place to relax. You can feel the history of the city while sitting on one of the benches.

It is a popular park, especially when the weather is good because then all the benches are occupied

Beautiful location. I would say a landmark. Excellent greenery and magical fountain. Located right in front of the main train station.

Very neat and clean park. Suitable for walking, bench rest, picnic on green. Right next to the main train station and a very good underground shopping center. Near the tram stops there are palaces where you can buy domestic fruits, vegetables and berries.It has a fountain and flower beds.

The square dedicated to very first Croatian king, Tomislav, who was crowned in year 925. Before that he was ban (the rulerof Croatia 15 years, since 910. On the square you can find statue of Tomislav, big walking area and fountain, as well as back side of beautiful Art pavillion. Across the statue is Zagreb Main station, as well as big tram station with multiple lines passing through.

Nice place to take your special someone on a romantic stroll in the park and take in the view all around you.I suggest bug spray if you are prone to mosquito bites and decide to visit in the evening. Either way, I strongly recommend you WALK (i.e. long walkand start from Trg Ban Jelacic because you will pass another significant park (Zrinjevacand you will not be disappointed by the trek!

Gorgeous square in the heart of the historical city centre. There are small bars around and other facilities. The little park behind the museum is well maintained with beautiful flowers and benches.

PLEASE visit Zagreb during Christmastime ... Its one of the most beautiful places ever!Together with the hot spiced adult beverages and the tasty snack shacks, this Square is decked out for Christmas like no other place Ive ever seen ... It really put me straight into the Christmas spirit!

Beautiful park near main train station... In winter big ice-skating aria with loads of Winter festival decorations and Christmas market hauses where you can buy cool stuff. Big monument of king tomislav on horse .

One of the more beautiful parks to come and chill right in the City Centre.

Great place to vege and enjoy people walking by. Especially the local dignitaries.
