King Solomon Jerusalem Hotel - מלון המלך שלמה ירושלים in Jerusalem
Description
Goog location.Good service.Breakfast.
The rooms were very clean. Staff was excellent! But the bathrooms were soooo tiny. But you cant beat the location. It is so nice to be this close to the sites of Jerusalem
MoreRooms and hotel were nice. Breakfast was great. Soundproofing or soft close doors are needed (woken many times by slamming doors). And they need to extend pool hours. Way too short and didn’t stick to hours when we were there, so missed even the short hours. Huge disappointment.
MoreLovely hotel in Jerusalem. Good location
Great location. Nice lobby and rooms. Cleaning not the best and requests not followed through on. For the money, worth it. But not one of the "top" hotels.
MoreThis review is an edit to one i left 3 years ago.The King Solomon Hotel has been completely renovated. Our room was fantastic. Our Service was impeccable. The General Manage, Maurits, the front desk host Nizar our friendly dining room sever Ali and even our room cleaner were the best of any hotel Ive ever stayed.I normally dont give a 5 star review but the KING SOLOMON is the best.Edited version from 2018.I stayed at the King Solomon on a trip to Israel in 1990. Staying here again was like a time warp. While the lobby and main areas have undergone renovations which make the hotel very attractive and inviting, the rooms look the way they did in 1990.The staff is friendly and the hotel is very comfortable. Wed definitely go back.
MoreThe only place to this hotel is the location of the service is absolutely terrible breakfast there is no waitress serving coffee you can only receive pockets on the machine and there was always a line room is not clean the sheets request to people claiming the entire hotel very very poor service was extremely disappointed as all the other hotels in Israel was beautiful and very well-kept definitely not a nice hotel would not come here again
MoreIn case you book the hotel through the hotel itself. Beware there is no guaranteed parking!!!!! They dont tell you that on the phone and expect you to know it.They have "lower floor suites" BEWARE there is no access to these rooms from the elevators. You must climb steps for everything (pool,Breakfast, shul, exit hotelthe hotel WILL NOT disclose it to you before you come!!!!!!The rooms themselves are really nice and big. The porch is huge with a couch and table and chairs. The master bedroom has a small porch as well.Bathrooms are simple but nice enough.Very nice selection of entertainment as well.Breakfast is also very nice (6.5/10)Service (besides diningis (2.5/10)
MoreVery close to the city center, mamila mall, the old city and it is in the center, it has a very good Gym and very interesting lobby with a Bar
MoreWe stayed at this hotel in June 2022. When we arrived on Monday, we immediately inquired whether we could have meals at the hotel on Shabbat, since the hotel only offers bed and breakfast. We were told that this is of course possible. We then asked again and received the same answer: This is quite certain. On Friday morning, around 8 a.m., my husband was at the reception to get the program for Shabbat. All the times for the tefilot and meals were listed there. By chance, I also had to go to reception two hours later, when the gentleman at reception told me, that lunch for private guests for Shabbat had been canceled (this was half a day before Shabbatand only the large group, that came to the hotel for Shabbat, can have the meals at the hotel. We were totally shocked, because nothing like this had ever happened to us before. We come from abroad and eat kosher. In Jerusalem, kosher restaurants are closed on Shabbat. So we were dependent on the hotel. For a hotel that is considered as a Mehadrin-hotel, this should never have happened and is absolutely impossible to understand. We would never go back to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.
MoreGood hotel, 15min to jaffa gate walking, good service and attention. Very pleased to be here. I would repeat, Thank you so much!
MoreBeautiful views, clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated rooms as well as a very nice pool area, rock climbing wall, synagogue within the hotel, and many other very nice amenities. Overall my favorite hotel ive stayed in yet and will likely remain so :)
MoreWe were surprised, based the reviews, how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our two rooms were clean, updated, and on the slightly larger side. The balconies were worth paying the extra cost. The pool and food were solid. The lobby was great with extra places for families to sit on a lower level. The location can’t be beat. Finally the service was exceptional with Nizar at the front desk especially helpful.
MoreEverything is great but the food suckssss
Extremely nice, clean. Spacious rooms. Excellent service. Great deal for the price.
MoreOrdered two rooms for 5 people: 2 adults and 3 children: ages: 5, 6 and 9. No connection by door between the rooms. children are expected to sleep alone.on the day of checkout which suppose to be until 12:00 (according to reception), my wife found two guys in the shower performing sanitation at 11:00, they were dismantaling the shower head. Second room door is widely opened to the hallway and suppose to be cleaned by the cleaning lady which was not there. When checking with reception, no checkout was performed by mistake and no idea why these guys didnt wait for us to leave. Reception took my phone number and said they will get back to me. three days passed, still waiting.
MoreDont stay here. The service is careless and the rooms are very old. 70 years ago this hotel would have been an ok 3 star hotel. I still cant believe how run-down it is. There millions of better hotels in Jerusalem, dont stay in this one.
MoreExcellent location. Near the old city and the old train station. The rooms are good, breakfast was very good. There is inhouse parking.
MoreCenter of Jerusalem, good food and friendly staff . In addition, there was a sweet Israelist pianist playing all the good odi song at the bar, makes you feel a home away from home.
MoreKing Solomon Jerusalem Hotel is in the process of being updated and the downstairs lobby is lovely and spacious. Even though the rooms have not been updated yet, they were not dirty at all. I never felt I was in an unclean room. The only thing that was a tad bit unusual about the hotel is that the commodes are situated in front of a floor-length window that looks out over the city.
MoreGood hotel, the bar is very expensive, but stayed in another hotel and its bar was equally expensive. Views of the old city are lovely. Close to Jaffa Street and the tram. Mamilla shopping area is nice, good place for a coffee or meal.
MoreThe rooms were spacious and clean although the furniture is a little outdated. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the location was excellent. This hotel offers great value for money.
MoreFront desk staff were extremely rude. The room cost a fortune and the couch and chairs were covered in stains. We were told our booking came with free parking. Upon arrival, there was no parking so we had to drive around for an hour to find and pay for parking elsewhere. The front of the hotel was all under construction with no walking path and none of the debris well secured from passers by. Do NOT recommend this hotel
MoreI am sitting here in the lobby of the hotel at 10:43 pm on the holidays. We came to the hotel and parking was unavailable. The front of the hotel was a construction zone. A woman was hit in the right shoulder by debris. Nasir at the front desk was extremelyrude to my whole family. I would stronglydiscourage anyone from staying here. I have never seen such terrible customer service.
MoreStayed at similar competitive locations in Yerushalayim and could not have more pleasantly surprised. Check in took under two minutes. Addl towels were delivered nun 10 mins. The room was VERY clean. Fruit plate awaited us in the room. Room was on 12th floor with stunning view of Old City with small porch. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. Parking was ok in basement. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Checked out the Mehadrin situation on the bfast with mashgiach, and almost all items were either from Badatz Aideh, Rav Rubin/Efrati etc. (Look into leafy veggies and hard cheese, though)Lobby was in pristine condition. Elevators are very fast. Staff was very courteous. Location is prime if u want to walk to the Kosel. If hotel gets full, parking can be an issue, as there is room for approximately 18 cars in basement. WiFi needs upgrading. It works, but is relatively slow compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Hotel is not new, but it is very well maintained and clean. Would go back again, with no hesitation.
MoreMe encanta. Im an entrepreneur in Omnilife. We are staying at this hotel and its beautiful. People is very kindIm in 403 room. Im from ArgentinaThank you so much for your especial and spectacular attention
MoreAs we arrived( a party of 35+ people the gentleman at the front desk told us to sit down and wait! He was so unfriendly and quite disorganised in that the guest had to look through a pile of envelopes to find the correct one with your name on it while he swiped the creditcard which added more delay to getting to our accomodation.. this took an unrealistic amount of time.the room was quite big, although unrenovated.. the hotel is in the middle of renovation and the newly renovated lobby is very nice and fresh looking.the carpets in the bedroom are overdue in need of replacing. The bathrooms were adequate, the hairdryers pretty outdated and hardly efficient! Bathroom essentials were supplied but extra towels should be supplied.only one big and one small were supplied so we used pool towels.Adouble basin in the bathroom was a nice feature. We didnt include breakfast in our rate so to comment wouldnt be accurate. The bar was nicely positioned in the centre of the lobby.a great meeting place for ‘arranged marriages!’
Morevery poor service, Room cleaning is very poor. After cleaning there is still garbage in the room. No towels. I had to bag for towels for almost 1 hour and when I went to the lobby they waved me over and say they will send some one.highly not recommended!!!Do yourself a favor and choose other hotel.
MoreShabbat elevator was out of order for around 2 hours. Very dangerous stairwell. No banister. Steps not even. Good food. Plentiful. Good service
MoreNice hotel, close to the centre of old city and shopping mall, parkung is available, but you have to have luck to catch a parking lot... breakfast is great... you will get high quality food in a pleasant atmosphere...Rooms are spaceious....We will come back
MoreWonderful hotel. Small pool. Nice rooms with a view. Wierd tilted back toilet seat. Nice amenities. Fabulous Israeli buffet breakfast (not included bit well worth the additional shekels).
MoreGood hotel. Nice room, good looking lobby to hang out in. But my favorite thing was the breakfast, they had so many types of food, a bunch of cheeses, a salad bar, a yogurt bar, a hot beverage station and a bunch of options for the main dish. Im impressed👏👏👏
Morethe rooms are ugly yellow toiletswe ask for fridge and gave us a broken cooler. and then they gave us a broken fridge. and then replaced it with a cooler when they promised us a fridg. when i came down to the desk to complain she didn’t even pick up her head to talk to me she just said no refrigerators.no a.c. in the lobby when outside temperature was over 100 degreeno ac in lobby for 4 daysnobody to talk to.when i came down to breakfast 5 people stand around you to make sure that you are not taking to much.the food shaboss was at best 3 stars. i requested towels because they did not clean my room on shaboss so they made a whole investigation y i need so much towels.every body is in your face the whole time.every outlet in the room is loose wasn’t able to put in any charging device.furnuture is ugly in the roomsbeds are ok 😂lobby is nice 😂I asked them when is checkoutthey told me 11:00 i asked them can i extend it for an hour she tells me only half an hour 😂 cheap.Basically this hotel is a empty hotel and they wonder why.we bought some extra dips for shaboss meal they wanted to confiscate the dips.do your self a favor don’t book this hotelit’s cheaper from others but very un professional. and very unfriendly staff.
MoreThe hotel is a multi-storey building which can be seen from anywhere in Jerusalem. Since it is huge, it is also very noisy. First, we were offered a room on the second floor where we could here all the noise from the lobby, thats why we were allowed to move to the 6th floor. There it was much quiter but the constant noise of smth working like radiator or all that stuff was annoying. I cant say the rooms were spotless, at least, they cleaned them. As for the guests, its been for the first time when I felt like an alien since all the guests were Orthodox Jewish. May be it was just a coincidence but at breakfast or in lobby we couldnt see anybody else except them with books of prayers. I didnt mind that, just felt a bit odd, like got into a wrong place. The hotel doesnt provide any services like ironing, or room service.
MoreMy dislike was with the guy at the gift shop,On October 23 around 8:30pm my wife and I came to purchase gifts as last day in this hotel. The guy (gift shop salesmankept taking the items from our hands as he gave the price of each item. When I realized he was bother and he gave ridiculous prices on very small items, I told my wife to leave the place, as we walked out, the salesman walked along with me to the door and told me I was a man with no honor because I asked for price without buying, I was in shock and I didnt know what to say I couldnt believe what I just heard, I told him, thats nature of business, and he kicked us out!!! Unbelievable!!!Be careful if you come here, not only the prices are triple for tourist but the attitude.I would be careful if I know that 70% of income to Israel comes from turism.Price could be high, place could be not too clean, but what makes a sale is the attitude to your customer.
MoreNice lobby and public areas, great staff. Good food and breakfast. Parking lot is small but there was space when I needed it and it was free.Rooms need updating (furniture old/ugly/dirty, pop corn ceiling). Not clear how to get in and out of the garage and garage was a bit of a dump. Also, they put us in a "junior suite" that was just two queen beds in one room :-/ not a suite as I understand it so we had to have the baby, kids and us in the same room.
MoreLove this place. Great location. Decent and clean without the price gouging extras other hotels nail you for. Great breakfast. I walk to the old city in a matter of minutes. Can’t find a better place for the value.
MoreThis hotel is in the center of Jerusalem and is very nice. Very spacious lobby and friendly and polite staff. The room was ok with nice beds and a cute view and balcony was a nice surprise. Would recommend!
MoreThe pictures online don’t match the rooms you actually get. ROOMS: Horrible mattresses, you feel every spring and they are concave from use. Thin pillows, itchy linens, and mosquitoes. Paying for the upgraded balcony? Don’t, its the same one someone else got for less.Staff is rude, the only nice person is the security officer at the front door. There is no manager available to speak with.PARKING: Less than 30 parking spaces in the parking garage, half are being used for storage since the hotel is under construction, employees and construction material take up the surface lots. Your room will be connected to another room in a way that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. So every cough, sneeze, and conversation will be heard. UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Did I mention the construction, because the hotel didn’t mention it to me when I booked.Stay somewhere else. This isn’t worth the price.
MoreDon’t illusion yourself that there is parking or free breakfast. People are rude. Rooms are grouped together weird, you share a door with someone and hear EVERYTHING. People are rude. Everything is dated and filthy. Shower had mold. Way too expensive for such a bad experience.
Moresuperb conversion of the Hall. We have also seen the restaurant and its very successful transformation. Too bad that when booking online it does not stipulate that the regulations to changed.. check ing instead of check-out. It is the third time that we come and during previous reservations booked with Naomi, which was reduced when the reservation was in direct.Shalom
MoreExcellent hotel in a central placeVery comfortable beds, king size and overview if the old city is fabulous, even more at night.Location of the hôtel at 7 minutes to Mamilla Mall by walk, no need to have a car to go to the main places to visit in Jérusalem, secured area, pretty Gardens with playing areas for kids, excellent choice for familiesJust notice the swimming pool is available from 10 to 6pm but it is quite windy and under construction/ modifications
MoreThere are a lot of great things about the King Solomon Hotel. It’s location, the bathrooms in the rooms, the hotel pool, the hotel amenities and the meals offered here. They have a ton of banquet halls/rooms available for use, unfortunately they are sometimes ignored. The lobby is beautiful and looks well kept and updated however the rooms cannot say the same. The rooms look and feel like they are from the 1980s and not in a good way, and this and the upkeep of the public space is why I gave it a 4 experience. Food in dining rooms is excellent, service at times can be less than expected and we had to ask a million times for water but nobody brought any.
MoreThe rooms were nice enough even if some of the decor was dated. The pool was fine, and the breakfast and dinner buffets had a huge selection. Neither of the two rooms I stayed in had working refrigerators which was very inconvenient because I have medication that requires refrigeration. A waiter yelled at one of our group and rather upset her because she accidently sat at the wrong table which was set for breakfast (dairy onlythe next day. One bartender tried to charge me 10 shekels for ice which is outrageous on the face, I didnt pay and came back when a different bartender was working and the ice was free. Another desk employee understood English well enough to give me a laundry bag but stared completely stone face when I asked when the bar was opening.
MoreBeautiful hotel, amazing food. I had a pretty big room, bigger than the normal size room. Food here over shabbos was amazing, will definitely stay there again.
MoreAbsolutely awesome place to stay. Friendly helpful staff. The receptionist even helpfully booked my taxi to the airport for me the night before. Good conditions, lovely location, right opposite the Montefiore Mill and park, the old city was just a quick stroll away and I couldnt have asked for better conditions, location, friendliness and helpfulness. A supermarket is handily situated about 5 min walk from the hotel, just in case you need something extra, but the hotel offers a lot already:delicious breakfast, bar, pleasant atmosphere and nice staff. There are a few restaurants 1 minute walk, in case one wants to try something different(one lovely Italian restaurant in particular). I must recommend this place, as it made for a very pleasant stay.
MoreSo far so good, friendly service, very clean hotel, reasonably priced, i will know better at the end of my stay, the foods so far has been good, let hope that it will be the same all the way, days 3 excellent service,i must add that the meals are exorbitant, so expensive, just the cost of one meal is 80.00 US$So thing before you order
MoreThe food and dining room was the highlight, the room was comfortable but is in need of better maintenance and updating. The foyer is grand and was being remodeled. The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to old Jerusalem.
MoreGood location, spacious rooms, staff friendly. Interior needs improvement, but rooms have been clean. Unfortunately the latter does not apply to the breakfast room; Ive had a little six-feet-visitor on my table. Not the value for money.
MoreVery nice location, close to everything worth seeing in Jerusalem. The Montefiore Windmill is right over the road from the hotel, less than 1min walk.Very polite and helpful staff. Airport shuttles are available to and from the hotel at a convenient price(65NIS in December 2017), and the receptionist was kind enough to book a shuttle for me the night before I left.
