Bistro meals in an old-timey Irish tavern with wood-&-stone decor, plus trivia & live music.
Nice spot for a drink. Close to everything. Friendly staff too. Havent tried the food though
good big Irish pub, plenty of room .good range of drinks but no vb well hard to get a vb in canberra , food was good too
Great venue, good drinks great entertainment.
Interesting old pub with log fires and different sections to sit and eat but the food was below standard.
An Irish themed pub/bar in the commercial center of Canberra. Located on a pedestrian only street with outdoor and extensive indoor seating. In addition to beer and wine there is a small menu of pub classic meals. Meals are simple but well cooked for a reasonable price.
Come here occasionally for mid day beer on the weekends. Always come when its really quiet. Staff are always lovely and its easy to get to.
I had a dinner there with my friends to celebrate one’s brithday and we did have a great experience. This was such an impressive Irish pub with authentic food, fresh beers, live music and signature decoration. I pretty like the fish and chips and the pizzas. Fast service and friendly staff. Appreciate it !
Was early and very quiet when we went, but the floor was still sticky like it had been a massive night.
A wonderful pub with a great story behind it. Very reasonably priced, the best Steak and Guinness Pie Ive ever had, and with good chips!!!Ask the staff for the story behind this establish - filled with so much history and a pub with a community focus. We had a wonderful night!
I had the best fish & chips I think Ive had in a very long time. Staff were very polite & helpful. Decor is pretty authentic. Toilets were very clean. And of course the beer was cold. : I will go back when in Canberra.
Great Irish pub with good Irish and other beers on tap.Great pub style meals in a cozy and friendly environment.Right in the city centre.
Bloke or lady has put a lot of effort into this joint to make it an intriguing place to stop for a pint & inspiring history lesson 👏 🤙🏽up ya boio
They had signs out for hot cider and mulled wine and instantly needed to check it out. Both were amazing and had me coming back 2 nights in a row for a hot one
Great place for a feed, steaks were cooked excellent. Good sized kids meals at a low price.Great vibe and atmosphere there too.
Great venue had separate room for nephews 30th, nice vibes and food 👌
Great night out at kingos! All staff were amazing especially Christian, Anna and Emily! Come through on the weekend and you will not regret it- best pub in Canberra
Best pub in Canberra. All the bar staff, especially Anna, Emily, and Adrian had phenomenal service and recommended the finest whisky that Ive had in a while.
Great place to visit on a miserable wet day.Great drinks.Friendly staff.Food looked amazing
THE BEST PIZZA OF MY LIFE!I was all set to have a steak. I felt like steak. I had rehearsed the order in my head. Then, on the way to order, I noticed someone had a pizza on their table which smelled amazing. It had black olives on it, maybe a bit of ham. Generous ingredients anyway. But that smell! And the way it looked. God! I had to have it.So I changed my order, got the pizza: my senses did not lie. It was the BEST pizza Ive ever had. Id go back to Canberra just to get this.
Amazing venue! Great entertainment and drink variety. I like how the music is pumped throughout so you dont miss anything in the toilet! Great service, perfect location and worth a visit!
Living in central canberra, I’d love to support this place but the staff are rude and indifferent and you never know quite what you’re going to get coming here. Sometime staff are good, sometimes they don’t give a stuff. No idea when they’re going to close - seems to be on a whim, sometimes with notice, sometimes without. Inconsistency encourages me to go elsewhere.Update - gave this place another try. Staff randomly “done” and closing on a Sunday night at 9:40pm without a word of notice or advice to customers about last drinks. Yet plenty of time to gossip to colleagues behind the bar. Pathetic.
Anna was the most delightful and helpful bar connoisseur there is. A charming young lady going above and beyond for the myself and my friends
For five years I worked in Civic. The main thing I miss was the atmosphere of this place for sneaky lunches and afterwork drinks.
Food was nice for normal pub food but the hot Cider and mulled wine was great
An English pub style dated fitout. Always a great place to go for a drink Food choices are reasonable for a pub. Indoor and outdoor seating are available.
Best Irish pub Ive ever been too, they had a live band with traditional Irish instruments playing behind us, and the tastiest Guiness pot pies! 11/10 👌🏻 ☘
Another classic venue of Canberra. Quality pub food, excellent range of drinks, including Whisky Bar.Beautiful decor
Lovely staff, good meals. We watched the rugby test here and had a great night. The following night there was a heap of drunk parents with their kids. So badly behaved...the parents, staff cut them off and were visibly rattled by the behaviour of these parents. Glad they got them out of there. Well done staff of King OMalleys
This is a wonderfully authentic Irish pub with a lot of character, and very reminiscent of watering holes in the UK. The staff seemed super friendly on my visit and service was quick. Prices seemed reasonable for this sort of venue too.Do make sure you try the warm cider if its available, it is like drinking Apple pie 🍏🥧.
I ordered "Chicken Parmy (good), chips (goodand salad". Salad was simply dry rocket leaves...no dressing, tomato, cucumber, onion or anything 😕 Missus ordered Chicken Breast (good& Salad (goodand wedges. Wedges were COLD. Obviously sitting too long waiting for someone to order. Quality control would go a long way! Was informed a couple of times they were understaffed...no excuse, and the meals were no cheaper. Do yourself a favour, give this joint a miss and head 10mins out the road to the Eaglehawk Hotel. The tucker is awesome and fairly priced.
Love this venue, good simple.pub fare for food with very yummy chips. Great selection of beers local and Irish. Also have music and events, have sat and enjoyed Irish music on a Sunday.
Absolutely lovely meal with great service and super friendly staff!Drinks a little expensive but food is pretty reasonably priced with a number of tasty choices.Live music and great atmosphere with a goof feed to boot!
Had lunch and drinks with friends. Great food, friendly and attentive staff. Very cool, old world charm interior.
Very nice pub with great atmosphereTraditional Irish musicGreat decoration.A lot of tap beers and spirits.Nice and friendly staff
Awesome , fantastic selection of beers and spirts and the food is amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure to have dinner and a few drinks. We will definitely be back, thank you king OMalleys .
Great atmosphere...great food... reasonable priced drinks ...just chill out and relax....for me the best seats are outside where you can relax with friends and solve the problems of the world or just watch the world go by... honestly life doesnt get much better
Im not sure how Irish it was. Felt like every other pub ive been to. Not a big variety on the menus to choose from, but food was good.
It was my first time in pub and first experience was very good, they had live music band, dancing and ofcourse drinking, staff seems good as well and overall i enjoyed my Saturday night.
While ordering food here, there was a holdup to get everyones order because they only had one person working at the bar. However we waited patiently, and the person working there was very friendly nonetheless. The food was also pretty good and we didnt have to wait long.
Fun restaurant with very friendly staff with great decor for a Pub. Wood sticky tables and mostly stools for seats. Both of us had the ribeye steak 🥩 and both thought the steaks were just ok, lots of gristle and not super flavorful.
Nice pub. Just a quick stop before heading back to Sydney. Drinks and service was good.
Dropped in for a quick drink before going out to dinner and ended up staying here for dinner.Watched a few meals go past and thought they look good and stayed.Friendly staff and great service.
Great Irish Pub, full of craic, good company and ambience-drop in, ya won’t regret it 👍
Great atmosphere and warm, friendly service. Food was tasty, classic pub food at a more than reasonable price.
Nice seating and sometimes live music. Alcohol served and food can be served here. Outdoor space for seating as well. Good piped music and a small function room. Welcoming and great place to meet up.
Chicken burger is fine. There is a $15/meal menu not shown on the website - it would be helpful if it were added. Not a great pic, but the lighting is a bit awkward.
Highly authentic Irish Pub. Great atmosphere. Dining inside and out. A lot of stairs indoors. Wheelchair access is difficult to locate. But nice cold pints of Kilkenny. Will visiting again soon
Very nice ambience. The quartet band was amazing. Playing the ole Aussie favourites. I wish I wasnt the designated Bob. But anyway, really recommended for a night out here. The guy at the door was very friendly. Drink was good. Parking was easy to find nearby. Free on the evening we were out.Very happy customer here. Thank you.
Solid pub grub and beverages! Worth a lookin on Saturday / Sunday lunch time when it’s a little quieter!!!
Perfect venue in the Castle Room for our sons 18th birthday dinner. Food was lovely. All made very easy by the accomodating and helpful staff (thanks Brendan). Had access to the room to decorate before the guests arrived (and no charge for using the room).
