Nice little mosque, typical small-town Ottoman style, as usual one of the oldest in Albania. A couple guys opened up for us and showed us around. If you look at the minaret you can tell at what point it was pulled down under Enver.

Одна из старейших мечетей в Албании, датируется 1492 годом. Напоминает королевские мечети Султаном Баизаедом Ханом 2 в конце 15 века. Закрыта в 1967 и открыта в 1990.

This mosque is part of the Castle Block or Neighbourhood. Elbasan Castle is one of the few castles in Albania to be inhabited up to the present days. The mosque has preserved some of the old Ottoman architecture and survived 50 years of communist dictatorship. The people who frequent the mosque or serve there are very friendly and helpful.
