Public green space with cafes, restaurants & gardens around a large lake used for water sports.
A lovely park with a lake walk tucked away in the heart of Bucharest. Plenty for the whole family with restaurants (although many wouldnt let us in with a baby, stating all kinds of ridiculous excuses), bars, not so crazy golf, playgrounds and plenty of green spaces. A huge drawback is that in the 7km walk around the lake, we didnt come across 1 public toilet. If there were any, they were definitely not sign posted. Get a grip Romania, this is the 21st century.
Truly beautiful huge park placed on the northern side of the city, around Lake Herastrau. This is a largest park in Bucharest, a very special place in the heart of this city. There are several very nice restaurants, playgrounds, benches to sit and relax in and its nice to just take a stroll around and enjoy it. You can enjoy taking boat ride or other various activities such as the Hard Rock Cafe and the National Village Museum in its proximity. Especially charming in sunny days. Love it!
Loved this place for its quietness and relaxation that gives you, beautiful and very clean.. A lot of trees and waters all over the place, the best way to relax and enjoy your walk in Bucharest
A great place to spend time outdoors on your own or with your family. An island of green away from traffic, very nice for kids riding their scooters or little bikes. Also, some very good restaurants!
King Mihai park in Bucharest is a must visit place. Its huge, its green with some nice cafes where you can sit by the water and easily spend a couple of hours admiring your surroundings or even reflecting on life. Its a good place to take a break from your daily life. Will visit again
A fascinating visit that would take many days to see everything.
Its good having a walk but poor lightening system to make it safer in the evening. less information about the statues in there. But gives out a fresh breath to have a walk through the park
Very nice park. I would recommend for a off day or if you are tourist to spend someHours relaxing. Hard Rock Cafe around to have food and drink a good beers. Toilets free absolve and bikes to rent. It’s clean and good spot to be with friends
Beautiful and relaxing park. Very large area in Bucharest to relax and enjoy some fresh air.
At first I thought it was suitable to call this a garden, however given the size ... Its huge, can easily spend hours here strolling, sitting and relaxing. With a huge pond in the middle and ample seating around it, gives you many opportunities to just sit relax and take in the ambience, especially when you consider its in the busy city of Bucharest. There is a lot to take in, and even a kids play park. With a bike rental at the the entrance its perfect to cycle and just enjoy. It looks like there used to be options to hire boats on the pond, and quite a few empty buildings that have fallen in to disrepair. Coupled with some overgrown and required landscape maintenance, had to knock a star off. Perhaps due to covid these places had to close and unable to resume, not sure. Only that they should be fixed up to finish the appeal. There are plenty of small pop up shops so can easily grab something to drink, eat or even items to play with kids. All in all very nice area to relax and close to the arch de triumph and other restaurants.
Nice big park! I liked the most the fact that you can rent a boat on the lake!
Its nice ,amuseableNice for walks, cycling and running
Beautiful park for walking and riding bicyle and enjoy Romanian snacks on the way of walking. Great place
Village Museum is beautiful.Japanese garden is a nice place. I can hardly wait to see it in spring.
Herastrau is very peaceful huge green park. We spent here couple hours and felt so relaxed
Nice for families. Most of the park youve got only chemical bathrooms. The boat ride is quite cheap, an half hour ride. Playgrounds are ok, the best thing is walking in the relaxing park, cool shade even in August. The museum is nice but for groun up kids only
Wide park, great for walks with children mainly in the morning when is not too busy. In the evenings, there is too much smoking in all outdoors venues, like in all other places in Bucharest.
Beautiful park, always a pleasure to wander around 🥰
This park has a good path along the bank of the lake under the trees. Good place for running, jogging, walking!
Big park, nice for a walk or a bike ride. Great sunset spot. Park could use a renovation.
This park is the type where you can just sit and relax, watch the sceneries, enjoy walking, eat delicious food with various restaurants. A great place to go together with family and friends. Recommended!
Big park, but dirty. A lot of trees, big lake.
one of the oldest parks in Romania. very beautiful, with a lot of vegetation, many restaurants, terraces, large play areas for children. there also are sailing clubs that make the lake look dynamic and colorful because of the sailing boats and windsurfing boards on the lake during the Sunday sailing races. very nice place to go at weekends...
The biggest public parc in Bucharest, a large lake with boats to pass across the lake or just to enjoy a turn around the lake. There are a lot of little restaurants with a variety of food using traditional recipes.
Best to go to Muzeul Satului (Romanian Village museumor stroll by the lake. Restaurants in the area are expensive and do not sport the best food
I can see the potential of this garden, but it is clear that it has been neglected for quite some time (similar to Cismigiu). None of the fountains worked or had water in them. The Japanese garden was completely overgrown and could use some maintenance. The playgrounds were fine, although every inch of them were covered in graffiti. The lake was the nicest part. It was fine for a walk and to take a break under the shade of the trees, but if you want a nice place to spend some time with your family, there are far superior parks in Bucharest
Probably the largest park from Bucharest. Nice place to go during the week and early in the morning during weekends. Normally it is very crowded during the weekend days. Be careful in the evening, the lights are not working on some areas. There are special areas for dogs, playing grounds for kids, terraces. Dot miss the Japanese garden in the spring when the cherries are blossoming.
Its a nice place to take the kids and ride bicycles or skateboards, there is also a big lake where you can see ducks and places for work out,
Best place to relax and enjoy pretty much anything! Such a gem for Bucharest.
Very nice and a lot of lounges and restaurants...
I gave it 3* because each trash can was overflowing on a Tuesday evening.. Herastrau is the biggest park in Bucharest, located in an great area, where people, housing and businesses thrive.. however, the trash pick up situation, and the manicure of the park.. were not doing it any justice. It was full of people, indeed, however, at thia point, I would take my child or go for a walk in one of the many other parks in Bucharest. The restaurant, Perscarusul was good though!
A very nice place! Perfect to falling in love! ❤
Beautiful lake in the middle of the city. Wonderful escape. Herastrau is a big park with many activities. Youll find many options for restaurants and cafes. Also tennis courts and other sports activities. Perfect for children and families as there are many play areas.
Usually I go there for running (adidas ar is located there, with eventsor just for a walk. It is really beautiful and the view close to the lake is amazing. There are good places for eating all around: bars, biblioteca, restaurants.
Nice large open space but poorly maintained and in a delapidated state. No water at all in fountain pools. Throwback to communist era!
I love to run in this park, around the lake. The park has everything for everyone, with kids playgrounds, restaurants, bars, skatepark, nice grass that you can lay on and plenty of alleys on which you can walk or do some sports.
Toilets are not very suitable to use for ladies, and are dirty , grass should be cut and fountain is broken, etc definitely a lot things to be done to improve your experience in this park.
Awesome park, in a beautiful city Bucharest!
Huge park with many places in which you can enjoy a coffee or a beer or eat something. Well maintained and clean still needs some improvements on the marginal alleys which are deteriorated. On the lake side you have the possibility to rent small boats or to have a ride on existing passenger small vessels which are crossing the lake.
Worth taking a stroll on a sunny and warm day. A boat ride is even better! It’s a shame that it’s not too well cared for. Used to be much nicer like most parks in Bucharest.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Eternal Flame and monuments to scholars, heroes and poets are all very beautiful. This park was tranquil and beautiful. I highly recommend a quick walk on a quiet day.
A nice and huge park. Looks like a park from the 70s. Not modern but has a nice atmosphere. It would be nicer 😜 f it has more lighting at night.
A Canadian Tourist Review:Its an absolutely massive park in Northern Bucharest. So many people here exercise around the lake. Lots of families. Lots of stalls too. Perfect for those early mornings and sunset.I like walking through here every day!
Gorgeous park, I grew up taking walks here during the weekends or weekdays after finishing high school classes. The colours in autumn are just splendid. There are numerous places to rest on a bench or to have food, and lots of play areas for the kids.
The escape from city concrete - enough range/ length to make for a decent running or bike tour. A must visit if you’re visiting Bucharest. Good place to finish a busy day with a good meal by the lake, or get your energy up in one of the clubs or lounges by the lake.
A really nice place to experience the old ways of living and to see how the building was in the old days. You can also have dinner or lunch there or a beer. The place is very big and you should expect to use about 2 hours if you want to see everything. Minimum 1hour if youre rushing through it without a guide. A guided tour is recomended but not necessary.
A huge and extraordinary park, there are bikes and boats that can be rented and a variety of beautiful hiking trails. Along the way you can find many statues of famous people like Mark Twain and Michael Jackson.
Beautiful, relaxing , very tidy park. There is a skatepark with a chill spot with a bar and comfortable sofas. You can ride a train 🚂 for 15 min , UT cists 10 Lei/person, there is a few groups of slides and swings, Marygorounds seesaws and gym machines placed here and there throughout the park. Loads if benches to sit and little shops to buy ice cream & a cold drink from. Its easy accessible, the Subway will get You straight to the entrance. There is a place for bike hiring or electric scooters and thats just the beginning of it. Its a must see park with many sights. The park has more than 1 entrance , each of them offering something to enjoy. I recommend this beautiful huge park.
This is a great park in the city with something in it for all ages and lifestyle. There are restaurants like the Hard Rock Cafe and places with live music. There is a great walking, running and bike path all through the park next to the lake. Places for ice cream and most anything you want. Stop in to see this place you will not regret it!
This park is known as Herăstrău Park by most people in Bucharest. The park is quite large, and winds around Lake Herastrau.PROSWalking through the park is quite peaceful ( Other than on a busy weekend), with lots of beautiful green trees and 🐦Birds galore and many lovely views of the lake. There are many places to buy a snack in the park. There is a bike path for anyone on a scooter or bicycle. A large variety of childrens playgrounds, and even a skate park.CONSThere are no bathrooms in the park, other than portable toilets. Many of the gorgeous 🌹Rose Gardens are overrun with weeds. There is a large boat that you can take for a tour on the lake, but it is now temporarily closed, according to a sign posted todayOverall, I enjoyed my time in this park. With some proper maintenance, the grounds would be stunning.
