Description
Privilege
Short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Easy hike for beginners, and both child and dog-friendly.
MoreAmazing!
Truly a waterfall to see. Spectacular
Nice hike, some up and down but not too bad. Beautiful waterfall!
Beautiful falls, trail a little challenging close to the falls
Great hike.
Beautiful falls! Its a moderate hike with a narrow path and a few logs to traverse. 1 mile out and back, once you get to the trails head from Burrells Ford.
MoreKing Creek Falls is one of the gorgeous waterfall located in South Carolina. Once you park at the Burrell’s Ford Campground Parking, look for the information board. You find the Trailhead Marker. The waterfalls is about 0.7 miles (one wayfrom the parking. It may take around 35-50 mins for the one way hike based on hiking speed, stops, etc. From the parking lot, you can use the foothills trail. King creek falls shows 0.5 miles hike distance. Please note that the 0.5 mile feels like 1 mile as the hike is moderate and tiring. The trail is narrow for most of the parts with tree roots crossing the trail at several points. Moreover, the trail can be slippery if it rains, so watch your step. It’s all worth it once you see the waterfall. The view is mesmerizing with all the greenery surrounding it.
MoreWent there last week and was very happy with the size of the waterfall. Walking stick/pole came in handy multiple times. Seems armadillos are a fairly common site in this general area.
MoreThe first half of the hike is easy, but the second half requires navigating around some slippery rocks and roots. The view is well worth it. There is an outhouse àt the trailhead. No hand wash station. Be sure to also visit Spoonauger Falls, the trailhead for which is a short drive down the same gravel road. Speaking of the gravel road, it is uneven in several spots, so drive slowly and cautiously.
MorePerfect short, fun hike for a family with young kids and a beautiful waterfall.
Beautiful falls with a relatively easy and short hike up.
Easy hike to a beautiful waterfall!
Great relatively easy hike to an amazing waterfall. We walked down by the campsites along the river first and saw some armadillos. After that we took the trail up to the falls. It was a bit muddy in some places, but well marked, clear and wide enough that you could easily pass other hikers.
MoreBeautiful scenery. I loved the hiking trail. Enjoyed being able to bring my huskies with me. (Animal FriendlyWas a great Birthday walking in the woods.
MoreGreat hike to the waterfall but remember to be careful
Beautiful falls. Easy hike
Moderately difficult trail due to many roots that can trip you up. with an awesome waterfall.
MoreThis was an easy 0.5 mile hike into a pretty waterfall. You can get your feet wet and play in the water.
MoreIf you want a very short, easy hike and the resultant large numbers of people, this waterfall is five stars. If you want to be a more remote and not have a constant stream of people coming through, its more like three or four stars.
MoreBeautiful falls well worth the hike
Good hike, rugged enough for those willing and able to climb over large fallen trees and rocks, with an impressive waterfall. Just enough space at the base of the falls for a small group of people to enjoy sitting on the rocks.
MoreThis was an easy hike about 20 minutes from the parking lot. What is nice is that during the week there were not many people there. You also end up on about 2 miles of gravel road to get there. The water was nice and cold. It was easier to just get into the water than walk on the log bridge once you get to the falls.
MoreBeautiful
Very nice but during fall...very hard to decide theres a path to follow. Paved driving road turns to bumpy gravel but go slower and its fine.
MoreKing Creek Falls is one of our favorite falls in the Upstate of South Carolina. There is a tremendous amount of water flow for such a small creek. It has a single drop of about sixty five feet and has a wonderful pool at the base. In the warmer months it is not uncommon to see kids splashing around in the pool. This waterfall is located just outside of the Burrells Ford camping area and just off the Foothills and Chattanooga Trails. Highly recommended for waterfall lovers and hikers alike.
MoreThis place is magical! Hike was easy and had interesting little obstacles along the way. The water looks like it has tiny flecks of gold glitter in it. My family, dogs and I will definitely be coming back again and again! This is accessible from the Burrels Ford Campground.
MoreEnjoyable hike and beautiful waterfall.
One of the most beautiful waterfalls.
Great time. Nice little hike to a beautiful waterfall.
An easy hike to an impressive waterfall
Well worth the easy hike
Primitive primitive ! Had a blast hiking and the falls were amazing . Someone needs to do better at keeping the facilities cleaned though. Very unsanitary.
MoreGreat hike from the parking area. There is a large tree that fell across the path and a notch was cut to ease the crossover. Not very easy for seniors...just take your time and grab onto the trunk to improve your upward motion.
MoreGreat waterfall! It was bigger than I thought it would be.
Nice little hike from Burrells Ford campground, not strenuous at all. Great place to check out and cool off in the Summer.
MoreTotally loved it. Short, not too difficult hike through the woods. We had the falls all to ourselves when we reached. It was really beautiful.
MoreThis one is fun for the whole family! Easy little hike to a beautiful waterfall with camping close by!
MoreVery nice waterfall. Not a long hike but a very nice view. Well worth it
Great waterfall. Lots of stumps to cross. Not an easy walk.
Water fall was soooo worth Tha hike!
An easy, well maintained trail. A short walk to the falls, good times!
Getting here is a long drive down a gravel road. The road sign is missing back at the paved part and there were no other signs so we drove past it the firs time. Be aware if you camp at the nearby campground you have to haul your camping equipment probably 1/4-1/2 a mile down hill. This means up hill when you are all done camping. The hike to the water fall is about .5 miles from the camp ground area. Its a fun hike and kids will generally enjoy it (stream crossing, some log obstacles). As far as waterfalls go its worth the hike, you can wade in the pools (depending on the water levelsand you can feel the mist and breeze from the water. We were there when the water level was the highest it had been in 6-7 years apparently. So that made for a great water fall. A little chilly due to the mist breeze. No where to really sit and eat a snack due to the rocks all being wet from the mist.
MoreBeautiful falls. Lovely, easy hike with a few moderate sections. Pretty drive there on 107. Dirt road was dusty but easy drive. There were a dozen cars there but we were alone at the falls for 20-30 minutes. Just a great experience.Stop at Moody Spring nearby on 107 and fill your jugs with delightful refreshing spring water.
MoreAnother classic case of water moving downhill as fast as gravity will pull it. Enjoy the view as King Creek, a small tributary of the Chattooga River, takes the path of least resistance and tumbles over some exposed rock. King Creek may not defy the laws of physics, but it does break the laws of the heart.
MoreThis was a nice little hike to the falls. A few roots and just a slight incline from the path. This makes for an enjoyable afternoon. Many other trails to do but we just did the one.
MoreRelatively easy hike, gets a little tricky towards the end but still doable for almost everyone, leads you to a beautiful waterfall. Remote enough to still look natural but an easy enough hike that almost everyone will be able to enjoy.
MoreVery easy hike and a great waterfall.
The falls are beautiful and its a real easy hike.
Great, easy hike along a well maintained trail. The final stretch required a bit of scrambling over a fallen tree and some rocks. The trail begins behind the informatation board in the parking lot. The trail was practically empty Christmas afternoon.
