Edwin made our night! Great drinks and great convo! The atmosphere of the hotel is calming and relaxing and Edwin enhanced our experience! Definitely booking again!
Amazing staff! Hussain and the rest of front desk team were suuuuper helpful! Hotel itself is well maintained, but not brand new. Stayed at 3 floor villa and had a few issues, like leaks from celling during the rain, room wasn’t properly cleaned :((But front desk staff made up for it all!!!!Loved the scent in reception are! They have complimentary wine 5-6pm and water/lemonade in the lobby all the time. Haven’t tried…but loved all those small details! Restaurant was also very good!
The staff makes the stay and everyone was so gracious and courteous and pleasant. We will definitely be back!
Excellent location, room was great, and could not have asked for a better stay here!
I went for cruise last week to celebrate my mom’s birthday and decided to extend our vacation in Miami for 3 extra days. We booked a King bed Suit with 1bedroom and a living room so my parents can use the bedroom and I will sleep in the living room which also has a bed and a separate washroom according to the discretion when I booked through Air Canada Aeroplan website. After we checked on Sept 17, we were shocked that we were assigned in a 1 queen bed room with no extra living room or bed. I went back to the front desk and told the front lady that what I reserved was a King bed suit which she also saw it in her reservation system. She exchanged the room for us. What has shocked me was we were assigned to a room next to the 1st room which was an other single room with 2 double beds. I went back the second time and told her we need privacy. I can’t sleep with my parents in the same room and share a same bathroom which was the reason I booked suit unit 2 months ahead and paid extra. What I been told was the suit I booked is under maintenance and they have only got 3 of these suits and the other 2 were occupied. I had no choice but booked a 1st room was originally assigned to us and keep the 2nd room for my parents. End up I had to paid extra 500 USD for 2 night at a discounted price. My question is why did the hotel not saving a suit for the customer who booked the room more than 2 months ahead? Why are 3 customers assigned into a single bed room in the first place by knowing the customer has a reservation for a 3 in a suit? And twice, assigned them into a single room? Very disappointed and worse experience!
This hotel is a great location to everything, all amenities and spacious rooms. I highly recommend this business
I stayed here two weeks ago and took the time to come back and leave a review because my boyfriend and I had such a great experience with the bartender Edwin G. He was very knowledgeable about local restaurant and things to do. The hospitality was impeccable and the drinks were delicious! Thank you Edwin!
The Kimpton Angler’s Hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The balcony view was amazing! The hotel is only a 6 minute walk away from South Beach, so the location was pretty convenient. My only complaint and the reason why I took a star off is because they put water bottles in the room and they cost $8 per bottle, which I thought was ridiculous. Overall, I recommend this hotel, it was very nice and clean.
UPDATE SEPT 2022:5 months later and this hotel fraudulently charged my account AGAIN. I had to block them through my bank and get a different card. Seriously do not stay here its such a headache trying to get to their customer service.Avoid staying here, they fraudulently charged my credit card MULTIPLE times. The customer service was terrible, they never responded to my calls or emails. Have to go through visa to dispute the charges.
Prepaid for the room but then they proceeded to fully charge our credit card on the account when we checked out.Despite several assurances from management that they will only take the "resort fee", they double charged our card for the whole stay.If you really have to stay here, DO NOT give them your credit card info. And try to avoid this while situation.Edit: 5 months later we get charged AGAIN. We stayed in April and they charged us again in September. AVOID!
This was our second time staying here and my suspicions are confirmed: this is our favorite hotel in Miami Beach! The location is perfect - a couple blocks from the beach, but far enough so you can choose when to be in the action of the main strip and when to chill out. The hotel makes you instantly feel like you’re on vacation when you open the doors. The staff is super helpful and friendly, the hotel has lots of amenities like daily free drinks, beach bag, towels, and a free beach umbrella. The pool and front patio areas are great for hanging out throughout the day.Another reason we love this place is the great local and chain businesses in the immediate vicinity:- Las Olas cafe for excellent Cuban sandwiches and snacks, coffee, breakfast, etc.- Bettant Bakery for great French pastries and coffee- Weed dispensary around the corner (no ID or medical card needed)- Tao Spa around the corner - fantastic massages. Ask for Andreas!- Publix (groceries), Total Wine (liquor store), CVS, etc all within a 10 min walk.
I had a room that did not face the street, so it was very quiet. I stayed in a studio room which was perfect for two people. The room was very stylish. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Warning: Dont take the tours that they offer at the hotel. We signed up for a hop on/hop off bus but it ended up being a city tour. Not the fault of the hotel, it was misleading on the brochure.
This resort is absolutely phenomenal! Everything about it was romantic! The smell and look, love!!!!! The complimentary drinks between 5-6p were a nice plus and always having fresh cucumber mint water and lemonade made coming back inside refreshing! The bed was SO comfy and the bathroom was very spacious! In love with everything about this resort, 100% will be back
Hotel is clean and very well designed. Staff is very friendly and helpful, though slow to respond at times. Valet gets a bit backed up, but also very helpful and friendly. There appears to be a single kitchen that supports the bar and on site restaurant. Let me tell you: The food is exceptional! I was very impressed. The rooftop pool area is well maintained and definitely a highlight. This property is 2 short blocks from Ocean Ave (The beach). The hotel provides beach towels and a branded bag for access to the beach umbrellas chairs.
The hotel room was a good size. Service was great, they offer a lot of small extras like beach bags, happy hour everyday and free wine daily. Location is within short walking distance from beach, mall and Ocean Ave.
I had the worst and most traumatic experience in this hotel! DO NOT stay here. There is absolutely no care for guest safety, anything goes including robbery. My room was infested with flies, disgusting. Despite the dangerous neighborhood there is no security at any of the pool areas, literally anyone off the street can just walk-in and jump in the pool and we witnessed it. Villa was not ready on time and completely unsanitary, from the bathroom to the patio, dirty.MY PURSE GOT STOLEN at the pool off of the back of my chair. After filing a police report there was absolutely no willingness to engage by the management team. Absolutely shameless. It is clear that this property takes zero accountability of their client’s safety! Buyer beware.
Rooftop pool is beautiful. Hotel staff greeted us with welcome mini bottles of prosecco. The room is gorgeous - we actually decided to stay an extra night. Huge soaking tub, and gigantic bed. Room full of light and even a pool bag with pool towels you can borrow. Really nice spot. Great location too, within a couple blocks of the beach. They also have bikes you can borrow for free and complementary cocktail hour with sangria from 5-6 each night. Free yoga/fitness classes... The list goes on! I would definitely come back.
We were upgraded to a spa villa. Great room, great location. Only negative was the lack of bottled water daily in the room..whata the destination/report fee for?
Location, amenities, decor, vibe, etc 10/10.Hotel room bathrooms are just average, nothing special there, and overall show their age. However, the rest of the hotel, for the price is 10/10!Eduardo at the front desk made everything 11/10! He was awesome for customer service and was able to address anything we brought to him, and it was so refreshing. For right around $200.00 a night, this hotel is a wonderful value given the cost of most other equivalent hotels on SOBE.
My husband and I visited Miami and stayed at the Kimpton Anglers Hotel. I read so many reviews and did my research before booking the hotel but I am shocked this hotel does not have more positive reviews. As soon as you walk into the hotel the experience is amazing! Every single person at front desk is so kind and pleasant. The hotel lobby smells amazing and when you check in they greet you with mini bottles of complimentary champagne. Our room was not in the "main" building but at the attached one (once you take the elevator you go through doors to a second buildingat first we were worried because we had no clue there was an attached building but as soon as we walked into our room we were pleasantly surprised with the suit style set up. The main floor was separate from the bedroom which was up some stairs, which we loved! Secondly the hotel offers free sangria and wine everyday for happy hour in the hotel lobby, which was also a nice touch. The pool was great, we had no issues with having our rooms cleaned or towels replaced. (was worried about this when I read other peoples comments but we had zero issues with that). Also the location is perfect its seconds away from Ocean Drive and the beach. There is a 24H CVS close by and a target 15 min walk away. Overall we were really happy with the service and our overall stay!
Hotel itself was nice enough. Expensive but you’re paying for location. Check in process is a complete mess though. Front desk people are nice but super overwhelmed. Get the sense their systems are not well set up or front desk isn’t empowered to make things right for guests. Or something. But it took me six times with six different front desk people to get checked in properly and every time I went to the front desk, some body was having some kind of issue.
Took 6 days and 4 hours of calls to get a receipt to the hotel. Call waiting is just endless. Only group answer is reservation line. Good luck calling hotel phone number is just to offsite group.
Awesome hotel, I was here on business for Miami Swim Fashion Week on the rooftop for a fashion show. Awesome atmosphere & the hotel rooms are beautiful. I love the the entire decor & aesthetic
I would stay here again. Chic off the beaten path hotel within a short walking distance to the beach & restaurants. The hotel was clean & accommodating. The scent in the hotel is fabulous (looking to buy it for my home). Very responsive when extra items were requested. Nice rooftop/courtyard & bar area.
Before coming to Miami I read plenty of horror story reviews for a bunch of hotels and I can easily say Kimpton Angler’s is one of a kind. Excellent service, attentive staff, excellent rooftop pool/bar, all you drink complementary sangria happy hour from 5-6 every day…one of a kind, definitely avoid the resort hassle and check this place out, my girlfriend and I will definitely be back
A great place to spend your vacations. Youfeel a great hospitality atmosphere as soon as you walk in the lobby. Anthony at the front desk was amazing and really helpful. At the pool Genesis from the bar was kind and was great talking with her. Definitely will go back because one night was not enough.
The Kimpton will definitely see me again! The room was beautiful, staff is amazing and great pool. From beginning to end we were taking care of. Starting withe bottles of champagne to welcome us. To getting locked out of our room and Diego at the front desk was so sweet gave a bottle of champagne while we waited and snack pack of goodies. He even turned on the basketball game on the tv for my husband to be comfortable as we waited. Love this place!
This Kimpton property is both consistent and “off”. It looks and feels like a Kimpton property should, from the entrance, decor, pool, etc but something seems off.. my room was not well kept and it didn’t feel like the attention to the little details were there. For example, the wood flooring looked original (no attempt to restoreand the outlets in a section of the loft were all not functioning. I would never stay here again, but it is a nice looking property in a great location.
We booked this hotel for our 10 year anniversary. We stayed in the private bungalow room with hot tub. The room was not very clean- bathrooms have dirt in cracks, towels smell, cob webs and insects were present in the room. The hotel itself is beautiful! The rooftop pool area has great views and is super clean! The common spaces of the hotel were really nice and we took advantage of all the amenities such as happy hour, board games, use of the bikes etc. It was a nice way to spend our anniversary but would recommend these bungalow rooms to be cleaned better and kept up to date!
Totally enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend getaway!! I’ll be back and , back again and again … Very pleasant and accommodating staff. Minnow Bar and Seawell are a “must do”!
I’ve stayed here over a dozen times and every time they deliver the best service and care. The building is brand new while most South Beach hotels are falling apart or barely renovated. Their bath products are freaking amazing.
Clearly, the reason people are willing to stay and pay here is location. Everything else makes it very much not worth the price. We had a King room which was so-so and even a little dingy. The bathroom door kept sliding open and wouldnt stay shut which was incredibly annoying, the walls had wildly splotchy paint jobs which was pretty distracting from any niceness you might have been fooled by with the decor, and for a 4-night stay the housekeeping didnt stop by once (except when we called and asked them to finally bring us some new towels). The outside was lovely and rooftop pool was a nice retreat. The pool boys were respectful and kind, but the woman doing valet was cold and unwelcoming. It wasnt a terrible experience, but its overpriced for what youre getting.
Honestly this is one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. Service was friendly and prompt, everything was clean and new, the room was spacious and beautiful. The rooftop pool is my new happy place. Extremely comfortable and relaxing. The drinks downstairs are unique and delicious, and there are so many little secluded areas to explore and enjoy! This section of South Beach is much less noisy, and there are so many strategic plants that all the outdoor areas feel private and sheltered from the rest of the city. Will absolutely be coming back.
At first glance its lovely, but our stay definitely could have been better.PROS:Modern and pretty decor, comfy beds, great showers, convenient location if you want beach access/South Beach culture. The mermaid pool was a quiet and fairly shady retreat from the main areas. We appreciated the tote bags for the beach and pool.CONS:Our rooms werent ready until well after 4pm (and no towels even when we were let in), and despite specifically asking for quiet adjoining rooms we received rooms on separate floors, both right next to the elevator (lots of loud people coming and going throughout the nightand one on the second floor directly over the restaurant entrance and facing a main street with plenty of Miami traffic (police sirens, revving engines, loud music, etc.). We were not told that our rooms were in a separate building and didnt receive directions to get there, and we only got information on the bikes, sangria hour, and other amenities by listening in on all the people checking in whose rooms were actually ready. Only one of the two suites felt like a suite... the other was just big enough to squeeze in a small couch. There were some safety concerns since the staff loudly gave us/asked our room numbers repeatedly, and anyone can access the room hallways without a keycard (including diners at the restaurant downstairs). We got stuck in an elevator for 10 minutes because the buttons didnt work and the elevator was out of service for the rest of our stay (fortunately we were only on the 2nd and 3rd floors). Our toilet broke repeatedly and still didnt flush right after 2 visits from maintenance. Also, the rooftop pool got crowded easily, definitely needed more umbrellas/shady spots, and the menu was fairly limited so we got tired of it after a lunch or two.
I want to start by saying that the staff is very friendly. Booked a suite which was not ready when we arrived by the time we were able to check and we were running late for dinner plans we literally had to use the emergency exit to get to our room that is not an exaggeration that was the way to get to our outdated apartment style room without adequate plugs an old outdated bathroom that we had to prepare ourselves. The front door staff was very nice the hotel was completely booked. There was nothing that we could do about it we did make complaints to two different people and they could not do anything for us. It’s not worth the price. the location is great.
We (2stayed here for 5 nights in February. The staff was kind and helpful, rooftop pools fun and relaxing, the location is great. The only two problems were 1. Water dripping down to the balconies from the rooftop pool. 2. Lack of ventilation in the restrooms. But would definitely come back
We were a group of 4 women who recently stayed for a long weekend at the Kimpton Anglers in Miami Beach in what was supposed to be a poolside bungalow. We had the following issues with our stay:1. I reserved a poolside bungalow and what we got was a “spa villa”; besides the fact that this was not what we asked for and we were not notified of the reservation change, this also has a different price per night than what we were charged. We wanted to be poolside and to have a rooftop terrace; that is why I chose a pool side bungalow2. I was told the suite was newly renovated. The paint was peeling on the door hinges and off the spiral staircase, and there were crusted dirt marks all over the floors, and stains on the couches. The electrical outlet in the upstairs bathroom did not work, nor did the telephone and light by the bed. The fan in the bathroom upstairs was constantly running with no way to turn it off (challenges for sleeping!)3. The room was dirty when we went in. Besides the crusted dirt splotches and stains there was a man-size footprint on the back of the bathroom door, hair in the shower, and cobwebs hanging down from the vent on the second floor bathroom. We asked to have the room cleaned again at the front desk and called two separate times to have it done and no one ever came.4. I was told the pull out couch was queen sized and comfortable. It was a double and NOT comfortable. Every spring could be felt in the mattress. When I asked if a mattress topper or extra blankets could be put down to try to make it more comfortable, the front house manager told me “yes of course” and then it never happened5. I had four names on the reservation since the first day I booked it. We only had enough bath and beach towels for two people. We requested more for the next day and they did not bring them.6. On Sunday, Housekeeping only came at 530pm and only made up the bed downstairs, not upstairs.7. We broke a glass and requested assistance to clean it up. No one came. The broken glass remained in the room until the next day.8. We found a drunk man in the hot tub when we came home from dinner; we called and requested security to patrol past the room a couple times in the night (we were all women staying togetherand the person we called at the front desk told us he would leave a note for his manager in the morning.9. We weren’t really given any orientation. We had to call to ask how to connect to wifi. We registered for an orange theory class but then were not told where to go in advance of showing up to try to go to the hotel gym (which apparently does not exist). We didn’t know whether the towels would be changed every day or only if we left them on the floor.10. The front of house staff were all extremely friendly and were quick to offer their help, however whenever we actually needed it, they did not deliver. It was almost as if they were trained to appease the guests but not actually address or handle any of their concerns. The Kimpton is a well-reputed hotel chain. We have stayed at the Kimpton in several locations across Cayman and the US and they have been incredible both in quality in rooms and quality of service. This really seemed not on par and will impact our choice of hotel stays in the future.
Paid nearly $800 for a single night stay. Very disappointed. Understand that Miami Beach weekend rates are inflated but expected a luxury hotel and did not have that experience. Spacious, clean room but very basic amenities, no view, broken glass outside the room in the morning. Staff were courteous but the experience was very underwhelming for the price.
Unbelievable and unacceptable business practice of overbooking rooms and taking advantage of young travelers. We paid for 3 nights in a two queen suite and were given a two queen regular and had to go back and request a refund. Then they moved us to a king loft and did not add a third bed, forcing three people to sleep on one bed. Finally on our last night they give us the correct room and only $150 in compensation for the night before despite being around $800. Unpacking and packing three times for one long weekend is not it.
We really enjoyed our stay here. I had booked a standard king room, but requested for a balcony room since it was our first time staying in MIA and they were able to accommodate us with the request. It was also my boyfriend and Is 4 year anniversary, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had remembered and had given us a cute little bottle of wine with a goody bag full of snacks upon arrival. The room was very clean, and had everything we needed. The only con I would say is how expensive the restaurant/bar is, but I mean thats to be expected since we were in South Beach and everything is $$ there. I really appreciated the bike rentals, and the free sangria every day around 5pm. Little touches like that really go a long way. The pool was clean but was always very crowded so we didnt really get to enjoy it as much as we wanted to. Location is great, within walking distance to the beach and all the restaurants. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and would definitely stay here again!
My stay started off on a rocky note, the room we had specifically reserved with a hot tub was somehow given to another reservation as they were fully booked for the weekend. The front desk hotel staff kept calling our new room an “upgrade” however we specifically booked a room with the hot tub for our short stay, the so called upgraded room did not work for our party, nor were we notified of this change prior to arrival. We initially found the front desk staff to be very uncooperative- however when the manager Anthony got involved our experience dramatically improved. I’d really like to give kudos for the way Anthony handled the situation and understood the mistake that had been made on the hotels end. He went above and beyond to fix the situation to the best of his abilities and make us feel comfortable during our stay. Overall the hotel has wonderful amenities and our stay was very nice!
I have traveled 25-30 weeks per year for the last 10 years and have never experienced anything like this. Unbelievable. Booked on HotelTonight several weeks in advance. Arrive at the hotel to check in and was informed that my reservation had been cancelled less than 48 hours prior to check in due to the hotel being overbooked. Front desk agent said they cancelled those paying the lowest rates in favor of those paying higher rates. I will never stay at a Kimpton property again.
Overall our stay was amazing- only made so by the manager Anthony and the valet Joel!!We booked through hotels.com, apparently the system booked a double queen when hotels said it was a king suite. The front desk employee and the valet - Joel escorted us to our room and upon seeing the double queen beds I said this isnt what I had booked and knew this room was a much lower price on their website, by at least $200. They said we would have to go back to the desk, they put us in a king room, but this room only had a sofa bed for the girls, which is still not what I paid for or booked. I went back to the desk and the employee brought the manager, Anthony out. Joel and Anthony spoke and Anthony upgraded our room at no cost to the most expensive room, the bungalow, which was amazing and incredibly good customer service. We had our own 3 story bungalow. Thanks to Anthony and Joel our stay was so enjoyable!! Beautiful place to stay, and right in the middle of everything, within walking distance of Ocean Ave, Versace Mansion, shopping and dining.
Very disappointing. We were here for our honeymoon, and it started off great. Warren is an amazing employee, and he helped us check in. Unfortunately, he wasnt there for the last few days of our stay. When they say this hotel is smoke-free, dont believe it. If its important for you to stay at a smoke-free hotel for health reasons, do not stay here. No one enforces their smoke-free policy.I have asthma thats triggered by smoke, and the room next to ours was constantly smoking (both cigarette and marihuanathe last few days. The fact this hotel is supposedly smoke-free had been one of the reasons we picked it, but when I went to talk to front desk about this they basically told me "it was too bad I didnt say anything during the day because there was nothing they could do at night"All this after showing him my inhaler and explaining that Im asthmatic and that the entire hallways and even my room smelled of smoke. The person at the front desk also said he had no rooms available for me because "there were no rooms of the same category left" and that "he could move me to a lower category room" which I think is ridiculous. What he should have done was offer me a higher category room if he didnt have the same one; but he didnt want to do that. In fact, he went and took me to the older side of the hotel and even tried to offer me one of those rooms! Said rooms were ancient and full of pollen and mildew, therefore I couldnt have stayed there either. He told me I should talk to Warren or Anthony the next day at a specific time in the morning to be assigned a different room, and when I went there, I couldnt find either. There was another man who after consulting with management wanted me to be ready to move rooms in less than half an hour, which wasnt a possibility for me because we had reservations for an activity and we couldnt stay. When we came back, switching rooms was no longer a possibility. Of course, the smoke was still there. No one offered an apology or compensation of any kind.Rooms were okay, but pretty basic. I liked the pool and the bar, but thats about it. The showers are very annoying, unnecessarily complicated to use. Will not be staying here again.
Highly recommend this hotel! There isn’t one negative thing I can say about it, the service was impeccable, the hotel is boutique style, modern and clean. The location is excellent, walking distance from everything. The two young gentlemen at the front desk (works the day shiftwent above and beyond our whole stay, really friendly always cheerful and on hand to help with anything. Thank you! We will definitely be back.
The rooms are absolutely beautiful. We had the signature suite and loved the wet room. The balcony had a great view and staff was welcoming. A few details keep it from being a 5 star. No free wifi, no restaurant downstairs although it is next door. Overall a great stay.
Very nice hotel and atmosphere. I will say though that the TV in our room was a flat screen but it wasn’t a smart TV so we were forced to watch standard cable (limited channels). The room could’ve been cleaner (shower curtain needed to be changed, dusting needed, and floors needed mopping but overall clean). I arrived at 6:45 ish to check in (hotel has 4pm check in), they were at capacity but by the grace of god, the front desk agent was able to find they had 1 room left (Not a good look for Hotel Tonight as I made my reservation at least 24 hours in advance). Both the Minnow bar and Seawell’s food were amazing. They hold $100 per night in incidentals but only tell you at checkout that there is a $30 per night resort fee and the $40 per night parking will be taken out of your incidentals hold as well upon them releasing the pending hold AKA you will only partially receive your incidental hold back. Overall I would recommend. Also I wish our room had a shower instead of a standard tub but it was the last room and I believe they have rooms with those options avail if booked directly through their site. I really enjoyed my stay. Close to everything and the lobby smells like heaven.
Front desk was very nice. Pool was small , but there was a friendly crowd. Wasnt crazy about the drinks from the bartender. I felt like Ive had better drinks before. One of the housekeeping women were mean and rude because my best friend accidentally got menstrual blood on the bed, saying if it happened again , she wasnt gonna change the sheets. I really liked the location of the hotel. Its a 6 min walk to the beach. Its so close by. I really like how its close to everything.
This hotel is well located, has a great bar, and a wonderful pool. We stayed in one of the two-level suites and another room and loved the spaces. However, our rooms were in need of a "deep clean" and we only got basic cleaning when we called and asked, even though they told me they were back to housekeeping rooms every day. For the price, I expected the rooms to be a bit cleaner and nicer. If I went back to Miami Id probably stay elsewhere.
This is probably the nicest hotel Ive ever stayed in. It has a cool, modern rustic vibe that is quite different than most of hotels Ive stayed in.The atmosphere was awesome, they had daily complementary wine/sangria hour, bikes that were free to rent and towels and umbrellas for the beach. Speaking of the beach, it was only 2-3 blocks from Ocean Drive and the beach so it was very manageable to walk there for a bit.It also featured an amazing rooftop pool that went criminally underused by the patrons. Until about 11am, my wife and I were normally the only people out there, which was totally fine for us.The rooms (especially the rooms on the second floor that had secluded patioswere an awesome experience. The hotel staff was also extremely friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with out AC not getting nearly as cool as it should. They had an engineer out to look at it without 15 minutes and partially fixed the issue, but were immediately able to waive a size amount of the charges without hesitation or even us asking in one case. They also held out luggage the last day because of a late flight which was very helpful.Overall I would HIGHLY recommend anyone stay here to really elevate their stay in Miami Beach!
